Aussie Pride!!
Hehe, alright guys, the last topic (part 5) can be found here (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=11489).
We were just talking about how Jolin went to Sydney to have a concert, and complaing how Jay Chou still haven't discovered the country down under yet.
Also the whole road trip thing.
Personall I love road trips, the whole scenery and relaxation. So if Jay goes to Sydney, all of us WA, SA, NT people will have one big road trip all the way to Sydney to see him, ok?!
Also some other minor topics that was brough up in the last topic is the whole aussie actor/actress and cricket :) hehe, discuss on...
Rock on you people :) \m/
Cheers guyz :excited:

Let's discuss CRICKET! Haha......
As a passionate Victorian, I am utterly disgusted by the lack of Victorians in the international teams! Lol... Brad Hodge is there for the time being, but after 10 years in the Domestic scene, and even now his place is on rather shaky grounds, it's not like we don't have the Talent, we won the Pura Cup last season or the season before that? ( Can't remember Hahha... Too much sport this year has clouded my memory  ) Cameron White should be given more of a go, he has talent, and youth on his side  ... The new and better Ian Harvey! Haha.. I liked Ian Harvey, if only he was younger... or made the most of his opportunities >.<

When will Jay come to Aust?! We will definately have a JCNET gathering!

i used to play cricket for school cause i didn't want to do tennis. and i would have to say, it's not everyone's cup of tea because alot of the time you're just sitting there.. whether you're watching.. batting.. or fielding.. well that was my experience of cricket at school anyway xDD plus that tiny little ball hurts alot if you don't catch it right! ..needless to say, that was the first and last time i played cricker for sport. afterall, tennis isn't so bad :P
crazygiggles13
10-24-2006, 01:08 PM
i would definately prefer tennis over cricket!!
..probably since i play tennis lol..
but i just dont get it! and they always announce a bunch of numbers on the radio and stuff..and im like..so how am i supposed to know who's winning now? >.<" lol..i guess me and cricket just dont mix very well
OMG GREEN STARS!! I GOT GREEN STARS!!! :excited: yay!

I say I'd prefer tennis as well. I'd rather tennis than cricket, although tennis is a lot more energy consuming... But it's more fun, because to me cricket is fairly boring while you are fielding, and when you are batting, if you miss, your turn finish just like that :) so yea, tennis :D

10-24-2006, 01:50 PM
As for me, I don't mind either one as long as I'm playing something Haha.. sports crazy person here :excited: . I think I play better in Tennis, although my shots are abit, wayward, LOL, e.g a normal hit and it goes flying over the fence :shifty: but its exciting ^________^. You know I find fielding is really fun in cricket! LOL well because you have to always be on your toes and I like jumping around and stuff so yeah.... I find something positive in most sports ^^

haha cool i started a thing on tennis.
anyways.. hmm.. i find watching tennis really boring. its like, watching the ball being hit from one side to the other and back again. yeh, i have short attention span i guess. but playing tennis is much funner :) now.. its just a matter of getting better at tennis =D haha uh-oh. watch out you guys!

exactly how i feel!!! but honestly, i dont like tennis....at all. i just find it incredibly boring, ok call me weird or wahtever but i'd rather watch cricket than tennis. i dont get tennis at all.....all it is to me is two or four people on a little court hitting a ball from one end to the other and making weird uughh and oomphy noises, lol. but that could just be me..
countess
10-24-2006, 03:03 PM
haha we all have our weird tastes.. i personally can't watch cricket for more than one hour straight.. i got completely NUTS afterwards.. its just so slow. Tennis is faster paced and i love watching it, those beautiful beautiful shots and men hahahaha (safin+nadal).
i used to watch lots of league and i'm a Roosters supporter.. but this year has been too busy for me to keep track, guess i didn't miss much either haha.
Darkshrimp
10-24-2006, 03:26 PM
haha, if acording to that logic.
Tennis is just a sport where there's 2 or 3 people hitting a ball around the court ...boring!
then..
Soccer is 22 people chasing for 1 ball, and hitting it from 1 side to another...boring!
and
Swimming would be just few people moving around in the water, trying to be the fastest....boring!
hehe, you get my point, tenni is actually very fun to watch, especially laughing at the weird noises they make when they hit a hard ball. It's hiliairous :) but sometimes the skillful shots just makes ur jaws drop.

well obviously im not a pro tennis watcher and i doubt i ever will be cos i dont watch tennis at all.
but like countess said, we do all have our own weird tastes and opinions about different things.
haha darkshrimp tru tru and if following that logic....what about golf?? its just a game where someone hits this little little white ball, then follows it, hits it further, follows it somemore and they keep doing that until it gets into a hole, and then what do they do, they do it all over again, just on a different course...lol

what about AFL guys? our national sport! I personally quite like AFL, not playing it, but watching it is very interesting. Watching a oval shaped ball jumping around randomly and people chasing after it :) hehe..

Anyways Darkshrimp, gotta love the AFL! Love playing it and watching! It's got everything!! ^___________^ It's fast, hard, quick, skillful, just plain excitiing =). Everyone watched the AFL Grand final right? That was sweet! :-) It's fun to play as well, love to bump and tackle people lol  But *sigh @ St Kilda >.<* New coach ..Hopefully we'll do better, I liked Grant Thomas :worry: But we do have 13 games at Telstra Dome next year (I'm gonna be broke >.< lol) so yeah... Hopefully Michael Gardiner plays well as well!

So.. on the sports topic eh?
I really hate sports. I never enjoyed any sports, maybe because I'm not good at it. I normally get last or second last in running, swimming is ok, any throwing thing (javelin etc.) I just suck, but I really love playing bball!
That's the only sport I really love. I think it's just really cool- but of course, it'd be better if I was a boy, then I can look really cool doing all the moves and tricks that girls can't get the same feel.
AFL is really interesting to watch- although it gets too much fights.
I just can't stand golf. I don't understand it- it's just hitting a ball.

Darkshrimp - USA is banning vegimite? Why?
yeh i heard about america banning vegemite, how wack is that.....they were so strict about it they were even searching every aussie tourists' bags to see if they'd taken any vegemite with them.. apparently they banned vegemite cos it contains folate and folate is only allowed in breads and cereals in the US. how stupid but i heard that the US is now considering to lift the ban and make vegemite legal like it should be. but yeh, correct me if im wrong, this is just some memory work from a few days ago when i read this story in the newspaper..

i always thought folate was a GOOD thing, why are they banning it? ok i just checked wikipedia, it IS a good thing, basically it usually comes in the form of folic acid and appears in vegetables. There are many benefits of taking folate, a source of Vitamin B such as decreasing deformities in babies if the mother takes it..
anyways, regarding the taste of Vegemite, i think its an acquired taste, i used to hate it, but now its my fav spread. my parents reckon it tastes like solid soy sauce, which they claim they used to have when they were younger.
azianbimbo: you are hilarious, safin and nadal aver very different people. one is supergorgeous (safin) and has been on the circuit since late 90's while Nadal (quite ugly i admit, but great looking butt) is a newcomer, he's probably only 20yrs old.
p.s i only checked out nadal's butt after he wore those 3/4 man-pants at the Aus Open 2004..hotness.

Actually I read an article about Vegemite recently and it said America HASN'T banned it.. something about the level being too low or cuz it was naturally occurring. Can't remember.. I hate Vegemite anyway. Oh yeah the article also said Americans pay US$4.80 for a tiny 4 ounce jar.. why import Vegemite.. why not Tim Tams?!
Darkshrimp
10-26-2006, 05:04 PM
Acutally the whole banning vegimite doesn't effect me at all, as i hate the stuff. Like countess said, i do believe it is solid soy sauce, taste bitter and just simply weird, maybe i'm not aussified enough just yet.
and the whole vegimite thing, i think australia is making too much a big deal about it as well, because i was hearing it all over radio and stuff. It's just a food, they don't like, then it's their choice :) hehe.
I was listening to hamish and andy, and they actually called to the american residents and tried to sell to them some underground vegimite. but doesn't seem like a lot of ameriican even know what vegimite is.

azianbimbo: i'm fully like you. At my school (80% Asian) you can't really BE SKIP if even if you tried haha. i love karaoke, haven't been in AGES. i usually go to VIVA its nice anc new and clean, plus a good price. They also have the new MV's all the time.
Yeah i always fall into that "polite conversation" thing with my neighbours, every single time its the same old "how are you?" i don't even have to think when i blurt out the formalities.. what a sad and fake world it is.. but then again in 19th century england you were formal with your parents...so i guess we've come a long way.
plus, i always say "cya" to people who i know i won't see haha. and the most annoying/overused word for me atm "GOOD LUCK", everyone i know is telling me that for my HSC exams and its nice and all, but its just so over-used! At the end of the day, IIIIIIII still have to sit my 7 exams PLUS the last HSC 2006 exam ever!! (grr, dont mind me, i'm just de-stressing)

10-27-2006, 04:51 PM
wow, day light saving time again? that's cool, but i've never got the hang of day light savings...anyone want to explain it to me?
countess
10-28-2006, 04:39 PM
haha you don't understand it? Well basically the government decides that daylight savings is economically advantageous (im not sure why?). Therefore in the summer we will get more light if we wind our clocks faster one hour, hence if say the sun sets at 6pm before, it will set at 7pm now. voila, we have "longer days".
then in winter since the days are shorter and the sun rises quite late, say 730am, we don't want to wake up to a dark day right? so we set our clocks back one hour (thus collecting the free hour of sleep we lost the year before) so when it was 7:30 darkness, it will now be 6:30am darkness. thus hopefully when it gets to 7:30am, it will already be bright.
It's so funny how Peter Beattie is soooo against daylight savings. i think its fine because i like my long summer days when its bright at 8pm. but it does suck if you forget.. i hope ALL HSC students have set their clocks, it would suck to miss an hour of the 4unit and 2unit paths papers on monday.
Darkshrimp
10-28-2006, 05:01 PM
haha thanks for the explaination, ilive in WA, so we don't have to bother with this whole day light saving business
-vIt-
10-29-2006, 06:29 AM
I never knew why we have daylight saving. I think it's just annoying- we have to be aware when daylight saving is, and then change all our clocks.
It'd be easier if we had the same time all year round.
And I lost 1 hour of sleep this morning, and because I had chinese school, I had to wake up at SIX!! (seven actually, in yesterday's time).
How are all the people doing their HSC?

azianbimbo: i'm fully like you.
(grr, dont mind me, i'm just de-stressing)
..VIVA..hm..never heard of that one..the ones i know..are...pheonix..cashbox..
k-squared..greenbox..lol..and how can i leave out redbox (where Jolin had her autograph day).lol..anyways..
well. i guess i lik phoenix the best..dont know why..maybe the name *too cool*..aha..and the worstest is greensquare..cus seriously..its like 10bux..lol..lik..hello..im not payin that for a place without "FREE DRINK!.."
lol..PS....GOOD LUCK!

Yea, isn't day light saving such a bother? like, you have to find all the clocks in your house, and then reset every single one of them, even your computer, microwave..etc.. I would go crazy, to do that every year. hehe.

10-29-2006, 12:39 PM
haha thanks for the explaination, ilive in WA, so we don't have to bother with this whole day light saving business
we're getting daylight saving soon. its just been through parliament (of the wa govt or whatever its called) and we're gona start having a 3 year trial cuz labour and liberal parties voted for it or something...so start worrying :D
haha..nah, its not htat bad, you just have to remember to change the time on your clock..on every single clock..(wow, that'd be annoying) or else you'd be late all the time. keke..sounds like something i would do :P

Daylight savings didn't affect me that much ^_______^ Lucky, didn't have work today, otherwise, PAIN! Lol. It was kind of a shock when I was on the computer then it suddenly jumped from 2am to 3am, I'm like...Crap >.< Just snuck up on me! :worry: But I do like day light savings, I like when its all bright still at 7pm, so you can stay at the beach longer or play soccer more! Hehhe

Western Australia may finally bite the bullet and introduce daylight saving as soon as December this year. And the man who's bringing it on is the fallen Labor Minister John D'Orazio. He wants daylight saving for a three-year trial period from December the first.

and also, tmr's not TEE :P the day after tmr is! :D
Ginuwine, welcome to the thread :d and i've never been to Vic so i have to say, Perth rox :P
hehe,
racism is all around the world, but i say it's fairly minimal here in australia, atleast in perth it's fairly minimal. The most recent one i've got was about few month ago, while walking in city, this screwed up guy walked past us and screamed:"go bak to your country you chinese" it came as a shock so by the time i realised i looked bak, his walking away. And then he met another two chiense people, and screamed the same thing, and i heard the guy got really pissed and started swearing and stuff...lol
meh what can you do, this is human nature, some people's brain is just too small to handle people not from their race, so just have to let them be.
Again tho, australia in my opinion is pretty less-racist :D
zhoudaoyan

aznbimbo: lol um.. no my names wj xP my nick.. zhoudaoyan.. is like.. as in.. "director zhou" like jay chou's nick name?? hehehe xDxD
yeah and as for racism.. i would agree with darkshrimp and say that aus is pretty multi-racial. like ive been here in perth for over 13 years..and i have not experienced ONE racial prejudice yet.. not even ONE
maybe that's just perth.. but yeah i heard that sydney has a bigger racial problem that other places.. is that true??
well i guess its inevitable that every place will have racism... every single country will have racism.. but. i dont know.. its not that obvious here i think.

hi Ginuwine: nice to have you here! :)
really? i've been here since i was 3yrs old, and even though everyone says how australia is multicultural abd blah blah blah, i always feel there is an element of racism amongst most people. its just that those people might not express it as openly these days since its deemed a social no-no, but you can feel it in their looks and they way they act.
i've experienced more open types of racism too. as i said b4, my school is largely asian (80%), and i remember a time when this skip guy of around 20ish yelled out to a group of us, he said "are there any aussies in your school" and i nodded, and he was like "well where are they?" i just wanted to kick him in the balls, but i was in a rush for the train haha.
i guess its hard for lots of white ppl to overcome racism, esp if they aren't associated with people of different race.. such as the "elitist"private school kids. those are the ppl who anger me the most, they are just so homogenous and they all the same with their country road bags and the wacked up "ive just had sex" hair. they go to expensive schools with "good reputations", but seriously, they just all turn out narrow minded. then when they don't get good grades they obviously feel jipped and wonder why all the asians are getting the careers and jobs they wanted. ofcourse i'm not saying ALL of them are like that, but quite a few are. the skips in my grade are awesome... non of that bitchiness.
sorry for the rant..
Ginuwine
11-05-2006, 06:09 AM
hmmm i often see "uneducated" ppl as racist, yes Australia does have a low level in racism but what about the thingo that happened in NSW? that was pretty serve.
i guess ppl still cant live with multicultrualism, and still hating on others for being different. Discrimination and racist can be linked. i tried playing cricket with some folks once and they said you know the rules? and all this stuff about asians don't know how the game goes. i was so outraged so i got their ball and threw it like a whole pitch away and ran. Ppl are so arrogant, just because of my race doesn't mean your better, cause in a democratic society we're all equal.

11-05-2006, 06:16 AM
funny how you should rant about the private schools.. i feel that most private schools are like how you said..
although.. my school is a private school lol. and it has TONS of asians.. well.. most than other schools. and the teachers and students are used to seeing asians and interacting with asians.. and the aussies even have jap classes and stuff.. and theres an international day..
so i guess my point is.. it really comes down to HOW people are taught and their environment... which sadly, for most aussies... encourages racism..
there's this teacher in my school.. who was racist.. and one dat we couldnt tolerate her any longer so we told the deputy head... and the teacher got told that if she continues like that she'll get fired ;)
tenshi_dew
11-05-2006, 06:25 AM
Despite the whole 'multiculturalism' thing Australia is trying to promote, I think racism is still quite evident here. I remember once, I went to this aquarium for a school excursion, and this white guy walked past me and my friends going 'Ni hao! Ni hao!' and pushing his hands against his eyes to make them look slitty.
I don't know if this can be counted as a racist remark, but I'm pretty bad at maths, so some people have said to me 'What? You're asian! Aren't you supposed to be good at maths?' It's not really an insult but I still get pretty mad about it. It's like as though I HAVE to be good at maths just because of my culture.
I love Australia, but I just love going to Chinatown and going karaoke and indulging in my 'Asian-ness'.

yea to all you guys, agree with what you've said.
Racism agian, it's human nature, the acceptance of others being different is hard to handle for others, and i don't think our world is ever going to have 0-racism, that's simply impossible. But I've heard the most least racism country in the world is Canada :D and i'd say Australia should be second :d hehe, it's not everyday where you get yelled racist remarks at. I'm just happy to be living in such an awesome community

I'm just curious, how is that bad? :worry: I would have no idea about what they said, but I would have said the same thing, I just don't expect asians to follow cricket. Obvioulsy there would be some people who follow cricket who are asian, like me, but its hard to have an expectation that asians do follow cricket when, experience after experience is people saying "It's boring" since they don't have the upbringing of having cricket in their lives.

Weirdo-Freaky alien HAHAH... nah you're kool ^^
I guess it is pretty sexist to say that one sport is one gender sport, but by the numbers, the majority are guys playing in those sports of Cricket & Footy but there are women leagues available.
I just could never see a mixed gender team in the top level or at many levels at all because it is a total different playing field. Female's playing in the AFL? It'd just take away from the spectacle and bring the quality of the game down, as the hardness would go away because the guys won't be able to go in as hard. To bump a female opponent that would just be..... I just wouldn't be able to do it :? . Men are faster and stronger physically than women because that is the way we are born. :worry:

aha! so you do agree with me that i am a weirdo-freaky alien....gee thanks! (i think i'll just go crawl into a hole now and hide from the earth.... :bye: )
but yeh i get where your coming from and you do have a point about guys not wanting to tackle chicks, but that doesnt mean that we cant tackle you guys hey....hehehe :D so that might be the main reason for not having mixed teams, because the guys are too scared to get 'rough' with the chicks....lol, just kidding. but just cos some of us take like over an hour to get ready in the morning or before we go out, doenst mean we cant swing a bat or kick a footy around an oval. some sports are just so sexist these days towards who can play and who can't...i mean, take basketball for instance, there isnt only a mens team but there's also a womens team, who won gold at the cmwth games against NZL's womens team.. well i guess what im trying to say is that if there's an australian womens basketball team, why cant there be an australian womens cricket team or womens footy team...?
well guess what..........im gonna start my own australian womens cricket and footy teams.....who's with me???????????? ................................................ye h, nobody...thought so.... here i go, back into that little hole in the corner...
...
sorry guys, sorry darkshrimp, i wasnt saying that YOU were the one being sexist....like i said, i know what your talking about and where your coming from cos alot, and i mean a lot of people, probably almost everyone would say the same thing.....that it would be really really surprising to find an asian, a female asian at that who would know anything about cricket, let alone play the sport.

hmmmmm..........Christmas holidays....wow, they're sure approaching fast.....what are you up to?? how many asians properly celebrate Christmas? i do......well i used to, i should say, really enjoyed the festive season until the last one or two years, just havent really been bothered with the Christmas tree and all those decorations and presents and everything else that comes along....except i still do put up the Chrissy tree and decorate and make it all pretty.....only to pack it all away two/three weeks later for another year...lol
what about everyone else? how far do you go every year when celebrating Christmas, IF you celebrate Christmas?
Darkshrimp

Shortie_J, well my biggest celebration for christmas in the past two years was going on camping trips :D usually about 4 days, living in tents rox :D hehe. But this year don't know if we are going anymore. But what's more exciting this year is that i'm going on leavers :D down to mandurah :) that'd be heaps more fun than camping with family. haha :P can't wait.

I predict........ I will be home, Sleeping. LOL.... Well because I think I will do something with all my relatives the day before so, on christmas day left with nothing to do :worry: except, watch christmas movies on TV >.< ... only option left is to just go crash @ friends house I guess! LOL

I'm a Catholic, but I don't celebrate christmas . I do none of the christmas shopping, gifts giving etc. I think of Christmas like just a normal day that come and go, exept for the fact that we get holidays. I only recently became a Catholic- which explains half of it. But, my family doesn't celebrate it.
I always wanted to celebrate it though- everyone at school would be like "what did you get for christmas?!?!" or "What do you want for christmas?!?!" It'll be fun to receive presents and all.
Who's excited for Jay's new movie? I AM!! It looks super cool, very classy, and I want to see how Jay performs in it - to prove that he ain't so bad at all, after the hideous attempt in Initial D.
I just found out today.. from my piano teacher that her brother's friend is going to be in the movie. I was surprised actually- how can a student be in zhang yi mou's film?!
He goes to Sydney Grammar. Apparently they held up an audition in China Town. My piano teacher wasn't sure which part he will play- she said that he will play Chow Yun Fat's son. But I still can't believe. He didn't have to do his school certificate, and he gets to play Chow Yun Fat's son and be in a zhang Yi Mou film! The whole Sydney Grammar is going on about it.

Man, that is so cool! The Sydney Grammar guy is super lucky. Imagine walking down the street and seeing him and going 'Hey...wasn't he in Zhang Yimou's movie?'
And yeah, I'm super excited about the new movie...but I'm also so nervous. I know I shouldn't say this as a Jay fan...but I'm just worried his lack of experience will let the film down. But even Zhang Yimou has been praising him so I'm sure he's going to be great.
Anyway, back to Christmas holidays. The whole exchanging presents thing gives me such a headache because I'm always so worried people won't like my presents.
But to me, the worst thing about Christmas in Australia is the weather. The Northern hemisphere has the whole White Christmas thing with snow, and what do we get? Santa Claus sunbathing on the beach, rubbing sunscreen onto his nose.

yeh same same here with the whole giving presents to people thing....its alright if you know the person who you're giving presents to, like family or close friends - you kinda know what they like. but if you do something like the kris kringle (i think thats what its called) and you do that with a whole bunch of people, and some of the people you dont even know very well, well it kinda gets impossible to choose a present/s if you pick out someone you dont even know....lol
yeh our aussie santas.......sunbathing on the beach, rubbing sunscreen onto his nose, wearing his red and white shorts and singlet.....oh and boots too......wait up, we're in australia, stuff the boots, it'll be thongs all the way!!!! lol :D

hehe, yea jay's new movie! can't wait, I seriously can't wait to prove my friends wrong that Jay can really act...but his performance in Initial D wasn't really doing me much great....hm..
But if zhang yi mo says his good, then he better be good :D lets sit here and wait :D

and yea, christmas presents :) I love recieving presents, who doesn't :) but I can't afford to buy all my friends presents, I got way too many :P rofl jk jk, but yea, i think since last year, we stoped this trading presents thing, too cliche, heeh

Darkshrimp- I never imagined myself watching another imperial movie too! I used to like them when I was really small, but then, I got tired of them and was pretty sure that I will not watch any more of them. But Curse of golden armour looks very cool. (great set, Zhang Yi Mou film, great costumes, considering the cost of this movie, I'm really anxious on how good it will turn out).
Who's going overseas this christmas?
countess
11-10-2006, 10:14 AM
-vIt- i'm going overseas! However, i'm having trouble deciding whether to go to HK or Taiwan. It seems like ppl are saying HK is a bit overated and that in Taiwan, you can get everything that you see in HK, except for cheaper. And yeah, my main reason is for the shopping :)
Darkshrimp you and ure mates used to get each other x-mas gifts? haha, thats so cute, what do guys usually buy for each other?

Can you go to both of them? =P
If I were you, It'll be hard to choose too, but I'd probably go to HK. I admire their fashion style. Although Taiwan is also not bad. Very hard decision. I want to go to Japan though. I really hope sometime next year I would be able to go to Japan.

Well Darkshrimp Japan is a mystical place full of suprises! Haha..... I went to Japan this year during semester break for 3 weeks with my friend =) Been wanting to go for such a long time now ^______^ So I'll list you a few things kool about it! :wink2:
List!
- The food is like absolutely delicious! Even from just some normal restaurant, the food is like Wow! I think I put on weight after staying there >.< Lol They're such a wide variety of food and all such a good quality! Well it is more expensive than what it would cost here, but for the quality, I reckon it's worth it! I didn't like eating when I came back to Melbourne :worry: .... Lol
- Shopping. The Clothes. There is such a bigger range, more stylish, and just better in Japan! LOL :-) I've got clothes that I can't get here and they are so nice as well! True True, that it's kinda of expensive, but still.. so worth it!! And if you were a girl, you'd enjoy it heaps more, so much and cheaper too!!! ^________^ Have you heard of Chadstone Shopping Centre? It's in Victoria.. Really big, popular shopping centre! There are shopping centres like 4 times bigger =| I just spent the whole day there, 10am - 6pm, and didn't finish >.< HAHAH
-To follow on from shopping, The service is like OMG :excited: They are so helpful!! Get everything for you, so nice and kind! And when you purchase something after wrapping it up all neatly and nicely for you, they walk you out of the store then hand back your purchased goods to you and see you off!! LOL :-)
- Television. So many interesting and funny shows, you don't even need to understand Japanese, the things they do, HILARIOUS! ^________^ Hahah
- People in general are so polite and friendly, a really fascinating experience ^^
And there are heaps more stuff! So yah, hope that gave you a little insight on why Japan rocks! Hahah.. Can't wait to go back  I've never been to HK or Taiwan before though.. really wanna go to those places
countess
11-11-2006, 03:16 AM
oops Darkshrimp, i just assumed it was mainly guys cuz i go to an all girls school.. so its GIRLS huh? That is even more interesting... what do you get your girl friends?
-vIt- i wish i could go to both, but it seems kinda impossible cuz i'm a bit short of time and money for both haha.
RiEwoLdT lol, your name is so confusing to type.. thanks for that post about Japan, the service sounds amazing. Too bad Australian service isn't so great. but apparently Japan is so expensive you'll burn a hole in your wallet! I don't know, i'll prolly go after i've made some decent money.

countess, haha, anything they like :P rofl,, prob some cute stuff :( you know girls, fall for cute stuff...haha

Hi there guys!
countess- it would be good if you can do both, but i say you go to HK it's got tons of attractions especially Disneyland, and i'm not sure about Taiwan.
RiEwOLdT- you do make it sound like heaven! It's so expensive there but i'd still love to go. The technology and their games always go into my brain.

11-11-2006, 10:07 AM
Ginuwine, hehe, about the disney land, heard dat it's very crowded and small, so you have to line up for ages!!~! for like 3 min fun... don't think it's worth it, might as well go to the one in califorina, or japan :D
crazygiggles13
11-11-2006, 11:16 AM
yup HK disney land is pretty bad. if you've been to ocean park (a theme park in HK thats been there for quite a long time but its really cool and they always update with new rides..anyways..) my point is that ocean park is way better than disney land. i like HK as the shopping there's really good.
but taiwan is also really cool! you should probably drop by the taiwan thread and ask them where to shop. they'd probably be of more help :D
i would chose HK cuz thats where most of the ppl i know are from and i like the place better, but taiwan is awesome too..
countess
11-11-2006, 11:33 AM
yup good ideas kids on Taiwan and HK. I heard that Disneyland there was pretty bad too... I might pop into the Taiwanese thread when i have time :)
I can't wait until wednesday. cuz then i can finish playing Final Fantasy VIII from back in year 7. I know, my parents confiscated it from me back then and I still wanna finish the game! i've waited 6 long years...
So, for all you gamers out there, should i buy the Nintendo Wii or the PS3? I generally like role playing or first person shooting games. But yeah, i have no idea about anything game-related as you can prolly tell from my Final Fantasy experience.
RiEwOLdT
11-11-2006, 12:34 PM
countess, you're hilarious! LOL 6 years!! =/ Well, I hope Wednesday comes around for you really fast! Haha.......:excited:
As for the Nintendo oR PS3, I have no idea as well! :glug: I saw the Nintendo @ Melb Central, they were letting people play with it.. it looks pretty cool, but because Tekken 6 is going to come out on PS3, get PS3!! Haha  Future Final Fantasy games will be on PS3 as well......
Darkshrimp
11-11-2006, 01:50 PM
countess, glad to see you are going to purchase one of the new gen gaming consoles :D but how come you haven't considered xbox 360, nice, not as expensive as ps3, and a lot more game options than wii.
Although Wii is very funky! the designs and all, but you need 3 different controllers to play, so gonna take you awhile to get use to :D
PS3, hm.. the graphics's probably better than the other two, and runs a bit faster as it's got higher powered cpu i think, but i don't think that's necessary, and also, PS3 is a lot more expensive than the other two, further more, the games are prob more expensive too, so i don't really recommend PS3, unless you are a filthy rich sony, then go for it :) hehe
so check out xbox360 :)
Ginuwine
11-12-2006, 08:47 AM
Hi again fellow aussies!
Countess- i'd suggest buy the ps3 it's got a graphics better than most computers, and it uses the blu-ray disc which can store up to 200GB on one disc, which makes pS3 games have tonnes of features, but one set back is that it's gonna be around 1k! so i think Wii will satisfy your needs as just a normal gaming experience.
Fujiwara
11-12-2006, 08:52 AM
Get ps3. It's better than Nitendo. I read the reviews on some sites...
Darkshrimp
11-12-2006, 02:43 PM
Haha, yea I'm sure it's better, because it's so much more expensive. That's why i said unless you are filthy rich and a big sony fan, then go for one of the other two choices.
Ginuwine
11-13-2006, 05:53 AM
Yeah but it's not that expensive, it going to be $800 for normal and $1k for other one, but i think that is american dollars, but the PS3 is aeons better than the Wii, you know the gamecube thats a comercial failure because it was so rubbish. So i recommend PS3, you have to wait til early next year i heard. A xbox 360 isn't to sahbby either, its around $600 now and it's got heaps of games.
countess
11-13-2006, 09:22 AM
okay, cool thanks everyone for all your advice! I shall decide what to buy once i get a job and earn plenty of $$.
Plus, this is on a completely random note, but the weather has been so crazy in Sydney recently. A few days ago i was wearing a wooly jumper and now i'm in a singlet and shorts. This morning it was sunny and hot, then suddenly it pours and the temp goes down to 15 or something ridiculous like that. and now, its sunny again!
I think all this stuff has to do with Global Warming, and we have to put a stop to it. I think there are many things individuals could do to help, from small things to large scale. For example, we could always:
1. recycle recycle recycle
2. change our shower heads and lighting to the environmentally friendly ones.. I got the showerheads at home and its like a normal one- except slightly smaller and less pressure.
3. Unplug electrical appliances when not in use, eg tv, comp... apparently stuff on standby uses up 10% of all electricity in the home.
4. Take shorter showers
5. Write letters to the PM and pressure him to sign the Kyoto Protocol. If Australia signs it, it will be likely the US will too since we're the only 2 countries left.
umm, thats all i can think of now, anyone else got ideas? We must get enthusiastic about conserving our resources, we don't want to live in a place where natural disasters strike all the time! Anyone watched an Inconvenient Truth? Apparently its an amazing documentary about how screwed up our world is if we continue as we are.. going to watch it after exams :)
Darkshrimp
11-13-2006, 01:15 PM
haha yea damn this global warming, it's so hot right now in perth..grr..
And i am doing my part in saving :P haha, my showers are normally 5min, that's pretty fast in my opinion :D

Sounds like Melbourne! Haha  *Sigh @ weather*
What else can we do? I'm not really sure, that turning off appliances is good, I never realised it used up so much.. So I remember to turn it off now when I go on holiday! ^______^ I know of Bart Simpson's methods though! "I'm not going to shower today, or am I going to shower tomorrow!" LOL :D

yeah it does sound like melbourne, i get sick from rapid varying temperatures.
i got hayfever :( Itchy eyes and running nose.
Is it Global Warming? or is it God toying with us?
By the time it really effects us, i'd be dead.
tenshi_dew
11-14-2006, 11:03 AM
Ugh, I really hate hayfever. One day I woke up and my eyelids were all swollen and I looked like a panda. I swear, I was going to burst into tears because I had to go to school. But then luckily, it swelled down back to normal.
Anyway, I watched The Day After Tomorrow and it really freaked me out. I'm just scared one day it will happen to our generation. It'd be like going right back to the Dark Ages.

oh wow. the topic is suddenly hayfever! JUST THE THING i want to rant about.
I HATE IT..
i hate it with a PASSION.
its so annoying! and its so horrible!
and you can never ever find a tissue when you need one..
and you just keeep sneezing..
and that feeling in your nose like you need to sneeze but you cant..

god hayfever sounds bad =/ *thankful i dont get it* but hey.. global warming ey? the weather has been really weird lately. Yesterday (well.. on monday), it was sunny at 8am.. then raining by 9am.. till 11? then really windy.. then sunny again by 3ish. Hopefully this doesn't keep up although it does make the day interesting haha especially when you're just sitting there waiting for an exam to finish (SC for you NSWers).
I watched Day After Tomorrow too.. i think.. movies like An Inconvienent Truth would be more closer to the truth (i haven't actually seen it but my friends told me about it) either way, we should be trying to conserve our resources just because they're not renewable and stuff like that :P gosh, i feel so sciencey!
Darkshrimp
11-14-2006, 03:18 PM
Hayfever rant ay? lets do it!
I hate hayfever! just got it this year, it's so weird tho... and i have exams right now, so all the sneezing and sniffing and all that annoys everyone in the exam room. And you are not allowed to bring tissue in, so you gota ask tissue from the teacher, which is quite annoying for both you and the teacher.
gah! i wish i can just not have it, it sux!!!! and none of the medcine works for me.
I heard that if you spend a day in newcastle, your hayfever will be cleared up, i'm not sure if that was true, but wouldn't mind trying.
crazygiggles13
11-14-2006, 11:27 PM
newcastle? why there? hmm...i wana try!!
i dont get hayfever either :D keke..but i still sneeze once in a while. but just without the whole puffy nose thing or keep sneezing until god knows when thing.. lol..
but darkshrimp, why arent you allowed tissues? ive seen people take them into exams and stuff. ive also seen the guy with the tissue box run around cuz ppl are like I NEED TISSUES!!! lol..
haha..inconvinient truth..by al gore..keke..sounds interesting...
ppl say its actually pretty good..but al gore!! lol..(is that even how you spell his name?) but i reckon he's a good guy. he should have won the american election against bush cuz he has more "total" votes, but the way their system works, bush won. and thats gay..but thats enuf politics..
global warming suxs! now it makes it harder for me to chose what to wear with the changing weather >.<"
Darkshrimp
11-16-2006, 02:16 AM
crazygiggles13, wow, are you serious? because the first time i went to the exam, the examiner said, if you have things other than pens, pencils, ruler, calculator, white out please raise your hand. I didn't want to cause any trouble in my first TEE, so I put my hand up with the tissue, and she took that away :(
Ginuwine
11-16-2006, 07:04 AM
lol hayfever rant eh?
I hate hayfever, runny nose and itchy eyes worst combination ever!
My runny noses are so bad i need my sisters tampons to block em! ( i was joking :D)
Itchy eyes i can't stop em just rub rub rub rub
Man it's spring and Victoria was getting snow and Melbourne was hailing and pouring? Wait til summer comes!
Darkshrimp
11-16-2006, 02:23 PM
Ginuwine, Rofl tampons, i thought i was weird when i use them for nosebleeds, and you go on the next lvl buddy, even use it for runny nose, wow :P but have you realised they are so much more expensive than tissues, sigh...
oh well, global warming, during Chinese TEE, did a translation on global warming :( and they are saying how we actually don't have proof that the world's actually getting hotter, all these changes are actually simply the natural change of the world.
crazygiggles13
11-16-2006, 04:21 PM
im pretty sure tampons are more expensive than tissues..
just so you guys know :D
hey..no fair! it costs less to be a guy! how stingy..i bet its a conspiracy!
ok ok..im sorry, i just finished my TEE and tomorrow morning i am leaving to go to schoolies/leavers/whatever you call it..omg i cant wait!
i'll miss you guys!
and there is so proof the weather is weird. it was snowing in november!! (IN AUSTRALIA - east somewhere..not sure exactly where) that doesnt normally happen! O.o
Darkshrimp
11-16-2006, 05:23 PM
Hahah, tampons, lol, yea ofcourse girls are more costly than guys, that's why you guys live longer :P and can do all this things guy can't do.
and the weather thing, remember ice age? was that because human beings being bad? lol, not really, just the world being weird :d hehe
well will miss you too, enjoy your leavers!

Ginuwine, well, lucky you then, that you have a sister that you can take them off, I got no sisters, and please, don't suggest anything else. :s haha, nah tissues work just fine :D
and also, that globol warming, think about it, it might not affect us, but it will definately affect our offsprings :P hehe, furthur more, what if they invented something that makes everyone stop aging, so babies stops coming and people stoped dying, kinda just froze at that time, then global warming might just catch up :D

Today was freezing!! (27.11.06; in Sydney) Well not that cold, but I had swimming program (sucks!!) and it was outdoors. It was so windy, the water is cold, we were wet, and everyone was basically dying. I was so cold that I was trembling, and my nails were purple/ white I don't know (sounds gross..)
Zhoudaoyan and Genuwine- I'm also in high school!
I wonder- has there been any gathering for sydney fans? I really want one! =P exept I'll be away from early December to the end of January..

Did anyone feel the heat last weekend in Melbourne?
I swear it was the worst weekend ever! I'm not made for Summer!!! I can't wait till it's over.
And I don't understand why people have to go shopping all at one time >.< I don't like xmas very much :P
Darkshrimp
12-11-2006, 07:53 PM
Hehe, from the way you speak, I'm guessing you are a girl, but correctly if i'm wrong. And if i'm right, I have to say this, I think this is the first time ever i've heard a girl say the world don't understand and shopping in the same sentence :P haha, creepy :P
Well, ofcourse, before christmas everyone goes shopping to get christmas cards and presents and get into the festive spirit :D
Ginuwine
12-12-2006, 04:22 AM
the heat was unbearable!!!
I had air con full blast and still had no effect.
Why would you hate christmas? your the first person i've heard saying i don't like christmas :D
Darkshrimp
12-12-2006, 06:00 AM
Haha, i don't really celebrate christmas, but I guess i'm not aganist the whole festive thing. In this fast paced society, i guess we need some time where everyone can get together and celebrate and be happy and be nice to one and another :D pretty cool
-vIt-
12-12-2006, 07:29 AM
I hate the Christmas carols played in every Shopping Centre/ department store.
I get so sick of it!! Christmas itself is ok to me, I don't celebrate it, so I don't get any presents or cards, but I LOVE going shopping before Christmas. Those Christmast sales- 20%, 30% to 50% :brows:
Did anyone feel the heat last weekend in Melbourne?
The weekend bushfire, was it in Melbourne? I forgot where it was, but I know it's not in Sydney. =P
I hope the area isn't that ruined. I can't imagine how hot it'll be. I'd just keep eating ice cream (or maybe ice block, because ice cream is too creamy, too fat) :bleh:
Darkshrimp
12-12-2006, 08:45 AM
all these heat waves, it's so annoying, I hate heat. Need to escape this place fast fast fast :) like go to the northern hemisphere :D and go through winter all over again :D hehe.
cinsin
12-12-2006, 11:24 AM
The bushfires were horrible, smoke lingered in the air for days and now there are bushfires in Tasmania ><"
-vIt-: I also hate the xmas carols they play in shopping centres. It irritates the hell out of me. They even had a choir of school children singing xmas carols in October. OCTOBER!!! It's like how they sell Easter eggs in January -_-
nibbles
12-19-2006, 01:14 PM
It's ridiculous how they do these things... people singing carols in october, shops put up xmas decos/cards on the shelves in september, selling easter eggs as early as january.. etc etc.. I understand they're trying to get the message across to us, but not like this *_*
Ginuwine
12-20-2006, 05:35 AM
Well maybe ppl like to get prepared for christmas? I put my tree and decorations up at the start of December. The message they are trying to get across are to BUY FROM THEM!

all these heat waves, it's so annoying, I hate heat. Need to escape this place fast fast fast :) like go to the northern hemisphere :D and go through winter all over again :D hehe.
not like its much better there..just last week, its meant to be ski season there..and in the italian alps, you could pick a flower!! flowers were still blooming, there was no snow. they had to make artificial snow >.<" bahaha..
and i was wearing shorts and a tshirt in florida before..(keke..i love holidays :D)
but i guess its better than the 38 degrees forecasted for wednesday..bah..
but i love summer!! (except for those 38 degree days) the beach is SO BEAUTIFUL. the water is so nice..*ahh* keke..and its summer holidays..no school/uni and its christmas (for us southern hemisphere ppl)..
and just for the record..i love christmas!!
but its way too comercialised now. hopefully people still remember the true meannig of christmas..omg how cheesy did that sound..anyways, hope you all have a good one and i'll see you when you all get back from celebrating..
be good :P

Darkshrimp
12-26-2006, 02:53 AM

Merry belated Christmas to all! Hope you're all having fun at the Boxing Day sales.
Anyway, last time me and my friend peeked inside the Reading Cinema in Chinatown Sydney and they don't even have those ads saying movies they're going to start playing soon. So I think they'll show the movie in late January or February?

hey guys, did you hear? or rather read?
According to Jay's new year news, one of the things on his 5 to-do list is to have a concert in Australia.
about time mr chou!
Ginuwine
01-03-2007, 12:39 AM
Yeah he is hoping to hold a concert in Australia!
I hope he comes to all states!
hows 2007 guys?
kirasuran
01-03-2007, 01:34 AM
When talking about the five must-dos for this year, Jay Chou feels that he will definitely continue to do them, including holding a concert in Australia, releasing a new album, filming movies and other "routine business" etc. We believe that it's the huge success that Nan Quan Ma Ma had obtained earlier that has stirred up President Chou, thus this year he smiled and said that he wants to continue bringing people around him up to stardom, and his latest target is his make-up artist, also expressing that if he begins filming for a new movie, he will definitely include all the make-up artists with acting cells. Jay Chou, who has always disliked the paparazzi, emphasized that in the new year, he still wants to continue working hard to avoid the paparazzi's chase, and return a world of freedom to himself.
- credits to ice tears
GUYS FOR THOSE THAT HAVNT READ, HE SAID HE WANTS TO CONCERT IN AUS!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY
dude he better come...after getting me all excited now.....grrrr
and he better sing all my fave songs!
COME TO AUSSSSS!!!!
and, jus come to sydney, no need for other cities =D
ker_ai_teresa
01-03-2007, 04:09 AM
well that's just right isn't it? I've been waiting for so long and now he finally discovers the land called australia....and I won't be in the country for it. :rasp:
come to south korea instead! :bounce:
my guess is he'll probably do sydney and melbourne. maybe brissy if they're lucky enough.
Darkshrimp
01-03-2007, 05:33 AM
Aww that's such a good news! Jay finally realized that this piece of land is not connected to antarctica and it's inhabited by his fans. But I don't like the fact his only going to sydney and stuff, or even the fact his only going to eastern states. As Jay is so unique and all, he should go against the flow and come to perth!~! :D
tenshi_dew
01-03-2007, 06:24 AM
Man, I better start saving up money if I want to get good seats. I hope he has an autograph session!!! Finally...Jay's coming to Aus!!
I think after the success of the Jolin concert, those music organisers in Taiwan thought 'Hey......Taiwanese artists have fans in Down Under too!'
Which is about time they realised because I'm kinda sick of only having Hong Kong singers coming here for concerts.
Ginuwine
01-03-2007, 07:51 AM
Lol it's about time he held a concert in Australia, how can they not discover Australia? We are a huge piece of land, near Asia.
If he is gonna hold a concert here, anyone plan on going?
Darkshrimp
01-03-2007, 08:49 AM
I really love to go, but dunno if i can afford it :( gonna cost heaps and i've already spent all of my money going over seas in a few weeeks time
xiaoli
01-03-2007, 11:19 AM
^ I'm sure it's not gonna be for a while.. so you have time!
FINALLY! And that's a tentative "finally" because nothing's been confirmed yet.. we'll see!
But yeah, I think he'll do Sydney and Melb.. not sure about Brisbane. Do Asian singers usually go to Brissy? A girl I know went to QLD once and said she saw a grand total of.. one Asian.
The only bummer is that I'd prefer him to sing his old school songs (albums 1-3). But he's gotta squeeze 7 albums into one concert and it will be concentrated mainly on his new stuff which I won't be as familiar with, therefore not as fun!! Jay should've come earlier!! "The One" tour would have been nice.
crazygiggles13
01-04-2007, 02:16 AM
i am so going!! :excited: i dont care if i have to beg to get some money :P teehee..its gona be so cool!! and we have to all meet up!! yay! have a lil jcnet section!! and organise a road trip for those unfortunate ones not to have a concert in their states..or just take over a plane or something..and start singing jay songs on the plane with everyone else thniking wtf? teehee..
you guys better keep me updated if there's more news on it..dont buy all the tix or else i will kill you!
Darkshrimp
01-04-2007, 02:22 AM
Haha, the evil crazygiggles. :)
Yea we can like hire out a boeing 777, and paint JayChou on the side :) and then we will use that as our private plane to transport JayChou fans :D i like it!
-vIt-
01-04-2007, 08:05 AM
YESH FINALLY!!
Finally!! Jay coming to Australia!! SO EXCITED~!
When do you think it will be? I'm pretty sure it'll be in the middle of the year. :hmm: I don't think he'll have it in the end because he'll be releasing a new album, and he needs to do all the promoting stuff..
darkshrimp and crazzygiggles-- if we had the money, we'll definately do that
I think it's most likely to be in Sydney or Melbourne. I'm so glad I live ini one of them :bleh:
Who here lives in Sydney?!?
:secret: Let's go before the concert starts to stalk Jay!!
JAY--
We're waiting for you!! :brows:
Ginuwine
01-05-2007, 12:18 AM
Yeah i'm sure it's gonna be in either Sydney or Melbourne, since that's where most of Australia's asian population are. Since i watch Cantonese Dramas, i see news of Asian singers coming over. They normally go to Sydney or Melbourne, i'd doubt Jay would go to Brissy, i've been to Brissy once and i didn't see to many Asians.
i wonder how much the prices for the tickets will cost?
i hope there is a special guest or something.
cinsin
01-05-2007, 02:44 AM
A girl I know went to QLD once and said she saw a grand total of.. one Asian.
Was it Shay? LOL
I hope it's a sell-out concert then he can hold more shows and then he'll realise that Australia is a goldmine for him! Then he'll come back again and again! But yeah, it is definitely about time!
Darkshrimp
01-05-2007, 05:33 AM
Hahha, yea make it a sell out concert, so he will decide to come to the other side of this great big land and hold another concert in perth, which would mean i can save some money on transportation, and use it to buy the best seat in the house :D
tenshi_dew
01-05-2007, 07:52 AM
LOL the concert is probably months away, but I'm already heaps excited about it!!!
As for special guests, probably NQMM and somebody else?
ryosukez
01-05-2007, 08:20 AM
Oh yay!~ Jay coming to Australia. Anyway, I think the concert wil be in Sydney, well hopefully because if it's in Melbourne then it'll be hard for me to go. =/
Darkshrimp
01-05-2007, 08:20 AM
hoprfully wilber :P or xiao zhu, as they all are good friends and i pay 1 ticket to see both:)
crazygiggles13
01-06-2007, 01:40 AM
wouldnt it be awesome if all your favourite artists did one show together!! :excited: i dont care who supports..as long as jay comes down, im going! bonus if its someone i like :P teehee...
Ginuwine
01-06-2007, 05:19 AM
Wow are you guys feeling the heat?
In Melbourne it's been 30 degrees + for like 5 days in a row.
Darkshrimp
01-06-2007, 07:26 AM
Actually, there's this super storm in wA area lately, it isn't that hot, infact, quite cold actually :D
cinsin
01-06-2007, 03:17 PM
Hehe I love how everytime you can come in here and the topic is about Australia's weather ^^
Melbourne weather sucks. I think it's better tomorrow. Or should I say today because it's past midnight? I'm not made for Summer, next year I'll definitely have to go to the northern hemisphere to beat the heat.
Jay should have an Aussie guest in his concert tour hehe
Ginuwine
01-07-2007, 01:18 AM
Yep it's going to be cool today, luckily.
But it's gonna heat up on Wednesday to about 36.
Yeah i talk to much about weather, i might think about becoming a weather man :)
Darkshrimp
01-07-2007, 03:47 AM
cinsin, that's what exactly i'm doing, going up north (way up) to beat the heat :D
haha, and the whole aussie guest idea, who is he gonna invite? Shannon Noll? haha.
Ginuwine, haha some how the mention of the weather man reminds me of the movie Groundhogs day
tenshi_dew
01-07-2007, 05:24 AM
Shannon Noll?? Haha, can you imagine him singing 'What about me? It isn't fair...' etc etc at Jay's concert? I think I'd throw my glowstick at him or something :shifty:
crazygiggles13
01-07-2007, 10:38 AM
glow stick? i'd throw rotten fruit!! i like my glow stick!! :D teehee...
and rotten fruit is yucky..so if he dont want it to hit him, he'll have go get off the stage (sorry to those shannon noll fans out there :P )
there's kylie minogue and..um..guy sebastian? lol.. =/
cinsin
01-08-2007, 10:08 AM
What's wrong with Shannon Noll? I think he's improved a lot, considering he came from a talent contest. I used to hate his songs but they're ok now.
I was hoping Pete Murray would be Jay's first choice for a support act when he's in Australia hehe
Ginuwine
01-08-2007, 12:25 PM
Cindy Who's Pete Murray again?
Lol i've heard of him, but forgot.
Hmm i don't think that Australia guests will appear, but maybe some Asian Celebs.
Mainly Taiwan... Maybe S.H.E? :-)
Yeah....Ginuwine/Jo...our JCN Australian weather man! Hehehe. A man who only focuses on Melbourne weather >_< Brisbane's doing well....we're getting rain so no bushfires yet ^^ Very rare for QLD I think!!
Hehe, I'm still not a big fan of Shannon Noll hey. I dont know, it might be his voice............when he talks o_O I wouldnt mind Pete Murray supporting Jay, I can't really think of anyone else I like that much that I'd prefer over him lol. Not that Australian music isnt good, I just don't really follow it I guess? Hahaha crazygiggles, can you imagine Kylie Minogue supporting Jay Chou????! HAHAH...!! >_< It's just a funny mix~
Darkshrimp
01-09-2007, 05:17 AM
all these aussie artist and jay chou mix brought up this thought... Why can't we vote for Jay Chou songs on the hot 30 :P they have french songs in there :P hehe, so if we all vote enough :P we should be able to get Jay Chou songs on there..right? or is this just wishful thinking
crazygiggles13
01-09-2007, 06:38 AM

I bet the aussies will love Ben Cao Gang Mu. I think I'd die of happiness if one of Jay's song was played on australian radio!
Remember how in the Huo Yuan Jia EP he had highlights of his HK concert? Wouldn't it be cool if he released another EP next year with all his MVs and the highlights of his Australian concert? Haha, it's only wishful thinking but it would be so great if he could.

Who cares what date he comes. We'll all clear our schedules for him won't we?
Hmm...do you guys remember that Savage Garden and Jay Chou mix that floated around for awhile. That sounded ok. I'm pretty sure Kylie and Jay won't sound that bad.
I wonder if we really did start a campaign to vote for Jay on the Hot 30 whether or not he'll actually make it XD

next week tues and wednesday we're gonna burn i tell you!!~ 39 degrees.
there is seriously something wrong with our weather.
Bleh so hot today in Brisbane. Damn sunshine / skin cancer state!! But I seriously remember previous summers being hotter here. Like literally-stuck-on-the-leather-couch-by-your-half-drying-sweat kind of hot. Like the days where all you would wear were shorts and singlets......and bras seemed unnecessary. Ladies? Are you understanding me? lol those were the days...
Think Jo's been hitting the alcohol too hard these days.. Drunk weatherman...

Yeah Channel 99 isn't treating me well, i don't get enough air time.
Plus the equipment is crappy, all I use to record is a tripod and a cam.

Just bumping up this thread. I was wondering if any aussies live in Canberra or go to ANU? I live in Sydney but i'll be studying at ANU for the next 5 years and i'm gonna board there. So speak out fellow capital city friends, it will make life a lot happier for me!

I don't think we've got anyone from Canberra.. I think we're also missing a Darwinian and Hobartian (whatever they're called) to complete the cities! lol
Shay: Yeah, I actually like hot summers. It's so much better than freezing winters, when it's sooo cold you can't even bring yourself to get out of the shower or get out of bed. I swear I've never realised how crazy Melbourne weather is until just recently.. one day it's scorching hot, a few days later it's pouring with rain.

Gosh I wish it would rain. I mean we could use it with the water restrictions.
I think I'm starting to smell. 5 minutes in the shower and then you're out and sweating again. Bleh!
I'm depressed * hides and drinks alcohol *
I think we have a weather man that's a lonely drunk.

lol, same here!
it's so sad seeing all these 'helpless' people crying over being dumped or not wanting to die without seeing their kids grow up.
but geez, don't you think that the first ep was really drawn out?
welcome to the thread, ll.jj! so you're a sydney-sider? which part are you from?

I'm so glad they're re-airing Heroes, I completely missed the start of it and cluelessly watched the ending lol
I love The Biggest Loser, I don't know why but the transformations just amaze me. I was a little sad that Adro (the winner from the first series) had to have surgery done to remove the extra skin he ahd after the weight loss.

don't all obese people have to undergo surgery to remove excess skin anyway, when they loose a lot of weight? :?
about TBL again, there's this one girl who reminds me of an ex-home & away chick....the one that's in the UK promoting herself as a singer now....what's her face?
argh! can't wait for tomorrow night! Heroes then Prisonbreak!!!

A haven for me to discuss my morbid fascination with TBL. Awesome.
Sarah drives me crazy! I'm so glad she left the show... all that crying & I'm-so-weak-I've-been-defeated-before-it's-even-begun attitude just makes my blood boil. I think my attitude's like Gillian, but Bob is just so darn nice. If I had to pick between blue team or red team.. I'd go with blue (if only to perve on Bob) :D
omg. TBL has a forum (http://forums.biggestloser.com.au/): There are 111 guest(s) online. There are 62 of 2,910 member(s) online... pretty impressive considering the show only started showing 3-4 days ago.
I like the Japanese guy in heroes, but the shooting of Veronika (<- Spoiler) in prisonbreak was a bummer. Living through season 1, only to die like that in Season 2 :worry:

i've always liked TBL, even though i'm not obese or anything, its just feels so good to see those ppl doing something and sweating it out. Bob IS kinda cute.. he's got that cute air about him. One show that i was also addicted to was BB. Guess im just the nosy type.

I've never watched The Biggest Loser before, but I caught the first ep of this series as I was attempting to clean my room... it wasn't bad.. I'll probably watch it if I don't have anything else to do. I was getting a bit teary when the contestants were too, haha.
I felt a bit sorry for Michelle at first.. I thought no one was going to pick her! lol. Also, I feel like I shouldn't complain about the junk in my trunk when I see all these obese ppl.
I've already seen the first half of Heroes and Prison Break (borrowed it from a friend). EVERYONE loves Heroes! I think it's good, but not "WOW amazing" good. I do love Prison Break though. SO MUCH SUSPENSE! I love seeing what's going to happen next!
I've seen Desperate Housewives too, so I don't have anything to watch on TV anymore except So You Think You Can Dance (awesome show).
So what does everyone have planned for Chinese New Year?

CNY is always the same. visit relos, get red packets....I seem to get less with each passing year.
