I know that you hardly hear about him anymore. But I was watching American Idol, flashback. And they showed William Hung, and my dislike for him came rushing back.

I can't stand the way he sings,"She bangs, She bangs!!"

I can't stand the way he dances.

I hate the way he looks.

I hate the way he talks.(his english is slow, his mandarin is slow, his cantonese is slow.) He just can't speak at all.

I hate his hair.

I hate the way he dresses.

And I hate his mom.

I just can't stand the way he carries himself. And he made it hard for asian guys, because after him, people would yell,"she bangs" at every asian guy they saw!

But the thing I hate most, is that he made it into the spotlight without even having any talent!! I'm I have a voice, I should be singing!! People shouldn't waste time on a person with absoluetly no talent like him.

That's the point - take someone with absolutely no redeeming qualities, and throw the spotlight on him. It just shows you how much hollywood sucks - well, people suck. They are delighted by seeing an idiot dance around, just because they can think "omg, I'm better than they are".

I think what I hate is how the media have treated William Hung. Without the American media insisting on furthering this idea that Asian men are short, ugly, untalented, and clueless, we wouldn't have to suffer through all this William Hung business. Nor would he have to suffer the role of the fool.

It's hard for me to tell whether or not he's complicit in the construction of his media identity. I suppose if I was paid enough money I might make a fool out of myself--but I don't think I could at the expense of supporting Asian stereotypes.

Yeah I heard about that movie. I think I saw some previews, on the international channel. It looked like crap!! Has anyone seen his video?! He made a re-make of livin la vida loco!! It stunk!! He was sooo bad on that video.

I was never amused by him and used to get so irritated everytime I heard about him on any radio or tv show. I hated the fact he was so popular despite being a nobody that just happened to make a fool of himself on the national stage. The "She Bangs" was nothing without the dancers. I remember William came to Malaysia to give a free show... it lasted about 2 hours and I'd no idea what he did during that time. He's singing songs that are totally unsuitable for him(not that any song seem to be suitable for him for that matter).
