hey everyone, i got a little something to say again. throughout my time right now, i have been given little philosophical sayings from lots of people trying to make sense of things for me with the situation i am in at the moment and well i came to wonder as to why do i need to hear these they are all the same one way or the other and has been said many times before over and over just in different ways. It seems everybody is a philosopher and has the meaning of everything in a questionable or hidden meaning kind of way.
Why cant we just say what it is and what to do without trying to sound wise hehe and all these life lessons and when it all comes down to is i think is just to do it and get it over with. That simple. I dont need to hear quotes from
Plato, or any other greek philosopher, just a simple answer for simple things, and eveyr is simple if you keep it simple, no need to drama it up and make it sound like the end of the world, unless its the the end of the world then be all wise and knowing but if not then keep it simple.
So what i like to know for the fun of it is what are your philosophies that you stand by and quote to people? and please add a meaning to them as well. oh ya and you must really believe in them cause if not then dont put it down and say you follow it. thanks and take care everybody:wave:

Hey,Blue_December,well I think you're right.People like to use philosophy to sum everything up in one simple wise phrase instead of trying to explain all day long lol.
For instance, one of my favorite sayings that I heard was,
"You can give a person a fish & it'll feed them for oneday. But if you teach that person how to fish, then you just fed them for life."
Another favorite one is,
"I rather believe in God & die just to find out that there wasn't one. Then to not believe & die to find out that there was one."
Final favorite one,
"Sanity is when you try different things & get positive results.Insanity is when you keep doing the same thing & expect different results."
I mean,I could've told you these phrases in simple language, but it just wouldn't be as enlightening with a powerful meaning behind them.
I know more sayings also, but these were some of the most powerful philosophical phrases that I've ever heard, which truly did enlighten me.^^:bleh:

well hmm..i dont know if this is an actual philosophy or whatnot, but ive always believed in "like water under the bridge". sweet and simple. i take things as they come, who cares what happened before or what will happen later, whats important is what happens now. so dont get pissy or hold grudges or get anxious blah blah, moooove on and let it go like water under the bridge, whats done is done. we cant control what happens to us but what we can control is our reaction. so whats the point of unhappy thoughts. be happy
ooookay, i think i just sounded like a shrink or something kakaka. but thats what i live by. ppl dont get why im always so cheerful, and this is why

I just like to believe that if you can't take a mean joke, don't joke about others..
That's a more contextually put way of saying "Do unto others what you want others to do unto you"
Muahhahaha...

I have a ton of different philosophies.
It depends on what type of philosophy you're talking about. In regards to life-philosophies:
- Dream the life, live the dream.
- Your circumstances don't control you, you control your circumstances.
- Opportunities won't fall into your lap, you have to create your own opportunities.
- Believing in yourself can take you a long way.
- Almost anything can be accomplished with hard work and perseverance.
- If you're good at what you do and know it, don't be afraid to show it. (ha, that rhymes.)
...I have a lot more than just this. >>;
Some quotes:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world; there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure about you. We were all meant to shine as children, it is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same as we are liberated from our own fear. Our presence automatically liberates others."
"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them."

mines is just the golden rule.
'do on to others as you wish done onto you'.
madonna's 'if you cant say 'i'll die if i dont do it' then you shouldnt do it''.
' if you search for happiness for yourself, you will never find it. only until you find happiness for others will you be happy.'
^^ something like that.
i have a ton, but i can only remember them in my heart..
not word for word.
