You could say that Jay's energetic, exotic performance of his hot, Dragon's Fist has put him on the western map.

Backstage, US rock quintet Matchox Twenty gave his "rapper-drummer thing" the thumbs up.

Bristish boyband Blue also admitted that among the Asian artistes, it was Taiwan's R&B prince who left the deepest impression.
Duncan James raved: "He can sing, rap, dance, do all the gongfu stuff and the drums, Very talented boy."
Blue is "up for" collaborating with Jay, "but he'd probably kick our asses!"

Even so-called rival David Tao felt "happy" thatJay bagged the Favourite Artist Taiwan award.
"He has gained glory for the Chinese. Now foreigners will think he's cool."

Jay himself was starstruck - with record label-mate Avril Lavigne.
They even took a photo together before her concert.
"I admire her because she's so young, and yet she's composing her own music. And if I had the opportunity to help her write some songs, I would."

As for the Singapore singer who catches his eye, it's Stefanie Sun - "because I'm more familiar with her," he joked.
"Whether the music is bad or good, she has character, which is very important. When she sings, everyone knows it's her."

gosh! i still haven't recovered from yesterday's night out so i'm staying at home and decided to type this out for u guys.
i'm sooooo envious of avril right now. but that's cool, she's a great gal. i caught sight of her in chinatown on thurs but was too stunned to say anything.
jay gav wonderful performance last nite, kicking the asses of the rest of the performers (not just the asian performers). avril and matchbox rocks too. it's great to see that my fav performers admire each other.
even my impression of blue had improved, haha.

haha just caught the show on channel i. jielun is so lucky!!! he shook hands with BLUE!! omg.. haha. and even took a pix with avril!! haha.. i was pretty worried for him abt wad he's gonna say when he gets his award and ta-dah!! he was the only one who nv spoke in english.. cant he even say thank you in english.. haiyoh... hahahhaa

hey xiaoqueen, i jus caught the channel i telecast too! isnt he such a cutie! haha.. yeah i agree, it's prolly better that he sticks to mandarin tho, until he brushes up on his english that is. i heard it's real bad.. :crazy: but who cares.. loved his performance of long quan! i wish he does the nunchaks more often, he's really good at it... personally i dont like avril lavigne, or rather im pretty neutral towards her. i jus feel that she's jus another teenybopper artiste who's probably not gonna be ard for long. Only thing abt her that catches my attention is her sense of style, or rather the lack of it.

yeah... i really think this yr mtv award is really a kick ass.. hah.. it's really good.. (of coz is mainly bec of jay.. heh) juz a pity couldn't be able to be part of the event.. to see jay live!!

but about avril...i just don't see why everyone makes such a big deal over her. yes, i personally don't like her. to me she's just like nelly furtado. comes out and is incredibley famous but would probably disappear in a while. jay is much cooler! she should be the one who was starstrucked not jay

she has those screen presence that so few celebrities have

that's not harsh at all! Westerners have been looking down on asian things for hundreds of years! It's about time they realize they're not #1 anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can tell this is happening - look at all those white guys in love with asian girls now... whatever!

and I think Jay should learn english for BUSINESS purposes. One of the main reasons I love Jay is because he is so proud to be Chinese!! We need more people like him to be role models for chinese youth... especially all those chinese teens in Taiwan who thinks its better to be Japanese!

i get seriously agitated when i see people calling Chinese words Japanese words...

i mean...Japanese borrowed all their characters that look remotely chinese from China...so how the heck is it the other way around now?
