Why did you watch Initial D?

*This only applies if you knew Initial D's story before the movie was even produced. Like you read it from the book or something.

I watched 'Initial D' the anime before the movie came out cos Jay would be in the movie, and the storyline kicked-ass.

I then watched the movie and was pretty dissapointed by the whole thing, but that's just me. If you think I'm crazy for dissing the movie, watch the anime & you'll see what I mean.

i watched initial d because i loved cars, and i loved all the guys included. even chapman to cuz hes just hilarious XD
my jay chou obsession didnt really kick in until after that movie XD

I watched the movie because I first saw the anime and got caught up in it. Also, I love the idea of drifting.

forced me and my cousins and grandma to watch it

wellz..ive first watched it becoz of JAY....n now..I LOVE THE MOVIE.......n i try to let as much american friends as i can to watch it...cuz the storyline was veryyy different n GOOD....i hate Fast n Furious--Toyko drift..cuz the storyline was stupid n borin..same thing..thatll NEVER happen in real life..so yea..the storyline for Initial D is definately NUMBER 2...hehe n Jay bein in it is NUMBER 1!

Definitely because Jay is there but after watching it, I realize it also has a good story. I don't think anyone could portray the role better than Jay though. :wink2:

yeah i watched the movies because jay was it in but also because i have watch all the initial D anime i was interested to see how the movie turned out coz i queit like the anime of Initial D

I watched it only because my friend wanted to watch it, I wasn't a fan of Jay yet and I hadn't seen the anime yet either. No regrets watching it though, I was a convert after that! :D

being in australia, i didnt even know that there was such a film until it came out in blockbuster (video rental shop)..then it looked interesting so i borrowed it :D haha and loved it! yay..
thats actually how i came to love jay :blush:...

I'm not one that is crazy for racing cars. Actually to be frank I never intended to watch the movie, but my cousin burned it for me. If Jay weren't in that movie, I wouldn't have watched it anyway. In my own opinion, the movie wasn't THAT good. Some scenes were good but yea. Ok, this is coming from someone who hasn't watched the anime version...

From the posts and results I'm seeing, Jay seems to be the reason of high viewership for Initial D. I guess that's why it isn't as popluar in the western region since fewer people there know Jay...

But I guess it's thanks to Jay, the movie is successful.

definitely because jay is in it. i didn't know about initial d before that, and i didn't especially like the rest of the cast as i don't usually watch hong kong shows. but i would watch any movie that has jay in it. haha. well, i thought that the movie was good. other than watching jay and the cool racing scenes, i got to know edison. =P and other than that, i became interested in initial d anime and watched them. they're not bad. :-)

The main reason of watching the movie is definitely because Jay was in it and this was his first movie. Of course, we must support him.
Glad that I was not disappointed and saw these fantastic scenes on "Drifting" etc and racing.
