Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone here knows of any good online sites for airline tickets? Besides the usual student universe, STA, travelocity....

Thanks!

roche, it depends on where you're going and whether you're looking for more options or the cheapest flights. I like to check the availability on expedia.com but I'm not sure if they have the cheapest prices. It's good to go to the airline's individual websites to check. Like I've said, it depends on where you want to go. I'm not sure where you're from, but if you're travelling within the U.S., use expedia.com or go to priceline.com to bid for the lowest prices. If you're travelling internationally, then I'd say go the the country's airline's websites, let's say for Singapore - Singapore Airlines, Cathay, etc. or Malaysia - Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, etc. Do a net search too. Type in the to and from location and also keywords like flight, airfare, etc. for the search. If all else fails, look in the yellow pages and call or visit a travel agent. :wink2:

thanks vunsin....
i'm actually planning a vacation to south america, from northeastern US. Tickets are just turning out to be much more ex than i thought it would be!!!
Oh and if you're travelling within the US, budget airlines like jetblue and spirit air are prob the cheapest.... then again, these no frills airlines dont serve u any food....u gotta pay extra if u want to be fed anything more than a small pack of pretzels....

Btw, has anyone been to South America? Any experiences to share? Which parts of South America are more worth a visit?? I guess its not likely to be on the top of people's vacation lists, but hey we're only young once.... :)

Oh... South America? I'd love to go there, because Spanish was my major! I haven't been there, but I'd definitely want to go to Colombia, Argentina, or Venezuela. I don't know why, but I'd love to go to those three countries, maybe because most South Americans I know are from those countries.

hey roche, I am from South America: I was born in Peru. I don't have the appearance of a "latina", because my parents are chinese. :excited: Now, I'm studying college in NYC. people don't believe me when I tell them I'm from Peru and not form China, and they are even more schocked when they hear me speak fluently Spanish. I've been here for 4 motnhs and I'm going back to Peru on Christmas. Let me tell you that Peru is the best place to visit. It has beautiful beaches... that's one of the reasons I'm going back hehe 8) , then you must visit Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders in the world. :yeah: This place is located in Cusco, a city in the highlands. Then, you could go to the jungle, that it's a great experience from what my friends have gone and said. Besides Peru, i think Brazil and Argentina are also great countries to visit. I hope you to visit my country some day.

Hi Roche! sorry for not answering those questions. Long time that i haven't entered o this site. So, how was Peru? Did you like it? I guess you wanted to write Arequipa. Hey, did you go to Lima's Chinatown? haha i think it's just 1/20 of NY's Chinatown right? I have heard that Lima is not as safe as before. I'm studying at CCNY. i want to be an architect. What about you? where are you studying and what's your major?

Some tips for travelers... let's see. Be careful with your bags and wallets, there are many pickpockets usually at "Centro de Lima", and don't get fooled by many people who offer you to exchange money currency... Sometimes they can give you fake money, be careful!!!! I guess i have already scared some people who were thinking of going to Peru, but i can tell you Peru is not bad! it's really cool actually! Go to Machu Picchu! It's really nice ;) Maybe Roche you can tell us about your experience in South America. That'd help a lot.
