I used to like her quite a bit but now I think her new songs really suck. I mean, her record company keeps making her sing a lot of 'kiddy' songs and its such a waste of her talent. Most of her new songs are kinda annoying..like the one that goes 'Let me fly...bla bla bla.' I don't know the rest of the lyrics but I thought the words didn't suit the music and its weird hearing her sing English.

She has a really nice voice. I love her voice so much. I saw her new album, but I didn't really tempted to buy it because it's a Canto album. I can't listen to songs which I can't understand. But I heard My Pride was pretty good one even though it's a Canto album.

She looks a lot better now that she had lost all the weight. Why do HK stars always have to lose some weight to get the fame??? Cecilia, Sammi, etc. *getting stressed out*

In 5 weeks,Joey has succesfully lost 20 pounds (9.09 kgs) and gotten back her slim figure.Attending an event yesterday,she wore a sleevelesss top with an opening at the back.Joey smiled saying that now her confidence has increased as before,her lower half of her body would be considered disaster area.A few years after being in the entertainment circle,she only dare to wear shorts now,but her ex-boyfriend laughed at her,saying that she looked like a 'Tai Shan Granny'.Joey : "Before i would wear shorts out for summertime functions because it's comfortable that way.Too bad since I've came into the entertainment circle,I've gotten plumper.I was thinking that i'm already 23 years old,will I have to stick with the word 'fat' all the time,plus i was having double chin.I dont want to be too fat that i need someone to feed me." But today,Joey has now full confidence of her own body and even wore a bikini out to sun tan recently.

She also wore shorts out yesterday,attending a press conference function by Fit & Chic Bodyshape of which she has become the very 1st spokesperson for,and commented that she is very satisfied with her figure.However,she now hopes that her muscles can get more tighter : "Now I have shoulders,some waist and some breasts,I've gotten back what a girl should have figure.I still remembered last year,there was a school class reunion,my ex-boyfriend attended too,that time,he laughed at me,saying that I looked fat as Tai Shan Granny.I wasnt entirely unhappy with that comment,because I dont sell that image. I personally think she was never TOO fat before. I remembered she said that she's the kind of girl who easily gain weight. She was skinny when she first started her singing career, but her weight slowly escalated. I've read that her worse weight was 63 kg (138 lbs), if I'm not mistaken. BUt I can't seem to find the "fat" pic of Joey. Maybe during her most "heavy" period, she seldom came out in public.

Joey was 63 kg when she was fat. And I think she was about 50-53 kg now. I'm not sure how tall she is but I think she's about maybe.... 167-168 cm. Everytime she stood side by side with other female artists, she seemed to tower them all (except Gigi Leung, of course).

My Pride was a jingle for a commercial, right? That's what I've read from mags. I like his Liu Xia. Wasn't it an H20 jingle??

I LOVE JOEY! Hehe, she's my favorite HK artist above ALL! I guess I like her because she's super talented, cute, and has a optimistic and down-to-earth personality. Her songs have always been top-notch quality, at least to me. I have all of her albums and her newest one "Show Up" is pretty good. Like most albums, there are the good songs and the boring songs. But its worth buying!

Hmmm, discussing Joey's figure? Yah, she used to be on the chubby side, but now she DID slim down. errrm, i think 167-168 is tall for gals. ave height for gals is 160-165. so above 165 shld be considered tall, and her weight is sort of under i believe.

ZIwei, My Pride is a jingle of a HK property agency commercial. I heard that Joey was selected as the singer for this jingle because she won most votes. Wow, she's indeed a great singer. I love her voice so much. The first time I heard her voice, it was a live voice. She sang Liu Sha (Ziwei is right, not Liu Xia) without music, and I was like.... Whoaaa.... her voice is great. And I started lookin for her Mandarin album. And I fell in love with her voice in her album "One Person's Love Song." I planned to buy "My Pride" since eveybody seemed to have a good review on it. Eventhough it's a Canto album, I beleve what Ziwei said. She sound nice even when singing Canto. ^ ^

Just before she went on a diet, every time I heard a news about Joey, it must be related of her "getting chubbier and chubbier". Isn't it a lot of pressure when the media always talk about her being more and more heavy? Well, it's a great thing she lost weight. She looks great now. Her face is kinda rounded. Therefore she looks prettier when she's skinny, because it shows more of her face features.

Correction guys, Joey's height is 5'7" (170 cm) and I think she's quite tall compared to other HK stars. (except Kelly and Gigi).

I'm so excited to hear Joey's new mandarin album. I heard it's gonna be released in December. Oh well, I bought My Pride and I decided I just couldn't enjoy Canto songs because I don't understand any word. So regardless of how good the melody is, I still prefer if it's in Chinese. Like I would prefer "Girl with Brandished Wings" rather than her "My Pride".

What about her Honestly mandarin album? I heard it has the H2O commercial song. I'm planning to collect all Joey's mandarin CDs since I'm crazy about her voice.

the american magazine Newsweek is coming out with a chinese edition and joey got to be on the cover for this first-ever issue because of her healthy image! :D previously, the only chinese celebrity who's been on a Newsweek cover is jackie chan. so, joey is the first chinese female artist to be on a newsweek cover. so cool, huh? :)

Just recently bought her album solo photo and my sis got her nin9 to 5ive album.
i think that the solo photo one is better than the nine to five cos of the slow ballads.
in her new album joey has really grown and looks older now, the album is ok haven't really heard it that much but i like how the album is designed.
I believe that joey's mandarin albums r better than her cantonese ones.

I think this album is a very good CD on the whole, better than Show Up. My favourite songs are Dream Road, Last Victory, Forever Chocolate, One Break Two Split, Move Aside and The World's Only...okay, that's like nearly the whole album lol. The lyrics of The World's Only is really sweet-like a tribute to all mothers :happy:

Ai, I just bought Joey's Nin9 2 5ive, and it indeed SOOOO good. The whole CD is very good. I could listen to it over and over again, and I still enjoy them. Though, I don't understand Cantonese but still her voice is awesome, the songs are very nice... and I love track 7 (One Break Two Split) SOOOO very much. The melody is so cheerful, yet sad... I don't know, it's just so addicting.

I would recommend Dream Road, Last Victory, Forever Chocolate, Move Aside, Migratory Bird Tree, Only the World Has..., Solid Melt, and of course One Break Two Split.

I personally think Joey really deserve on her winning as the Best Female Singer award... because her voice is getting better and her album is getting even MUCH better. Compared to her "My Pride", Show Up is better, and compared to Show Up, Nin9 2 5ive is EVEN better. :excited: Argh... I love Joey!!! :love:

There's a rumour circulating around saying that an abduction threat was made for Twins with Joey actually being the real target and Twins as the 'side dish'. Not taking risks, EEG has assigned two Stanley Team security guards each for Twins and Joey respectively. The guards will be protecting them 24 hours a day and no night outings are permitted from now on.

With a career spanning only a few years, Joey is reportedly to have accumulated a fortune worth 30 million HK dollars from movies sales, album sales, concert sales which could be the reason for the kidnapping threat. Also, Joey received 'blood letters' from her crazed fans before. Noon yesterday, Joey went for rehearsal in TVB studios in Tseung Kwan O for the EEG Singing Contest. She was accompanied by two security guards.

Joey said :"The company thinks it would be safer. This morning, me and my mum wanted to do facials and it's not nice for guys to wait on us so we told them to wait in the van. I think it's all just a prank to me. For Mani however, she was a bit scared and said you cant take this for granted so for the meantime, there will be guards looking out for me while i'm working. A fan sent me his passport to express his love but no frightening letters."

She advised the kidnappers to discard the abduction plan, saying : "I'm a very poor singer. Even if you captured me, I wouldnt have the money to pay you. The most precious things I've got are my 4 cats and my mum so dont waste your time." Reporters called up Mani Fok to clarify whether there was such threat, she admitted there was and said :"Yes, actually the company is worried for both Joey and Twins because they have many crazed fans. Especially Joey, she keeps getting these threat letters so we decided to increase the number of security guards for the three. We told them to not go out at night and must have guards beside them when they are working outside."

A few days ago, a person called up all the major newspaper companies and told them that there's a plan to kidnap Twins but also said it was actually a ploy to distract the public as their real target is Joey. With her two bodyguards in tow, Joey arrived in TVB studios for EEG Singing Contest rehearsal. When she was told she was the actual target, she said: "I dont know much about this. Normally I go straight home after work. I dont see any suspicious people or received any weird calls plus i have body guards so i'm not that worried. Unless they dared to climb up and into my apartment!"

The 2004 New Talent Show was held last night (12th of September) and Joey was the host. The winner was Wong Kei Sing from Hong Kong, he was awarded with an award and 100,000 HK $.

On that night Joey's health wasn't too good, she didn't talk much nor did she sing at the show. Originally she was going to sing with Deep Ng and the finalists of the show but because of her bad voice and sickness, Deep Ng sang alone with contestants. Joey explained that she wasn't feeling well and that she couldn't put up a good show, so there was no point. When asked about the results of this year's talent show, Joey replied, "The results were good." stating that she liked the winner as he sang well, she also stated that the runner up (who was from Beijing) was also good.

Boy'z and Isabella were also at the show to perform, Steven even danced and apparently danced very well.

Joey's doctor had instructed her to rest more frequently and not to attempt singing. She followered her doctor's instructions so she could protect her voice from harm.

Reporters also asked Joey about the threat of her abduction, Joey replied that she isn't worried as security guards had been assigned to her.

Joey is a fantastic artist with great ability in all areas. Her voice is suitable for all songs and is very likable.
But, these days, shes becoming 'revealing' if you know what i mean and I feel this is not a true representation of her. :dry: She used to be all sweet and everything, now, she still has the same personality but I feel her image in albums etc, are a bit over the top. But whatever she feels comfortable with and happy with, then I'm sure people will still support her.
I think she may get the best female artist again this year because she released 2 versions of each of her new released albums and is working very hard. :shifty: :-) :D

Metroradio Joey Yung Dance Party Concert
Two nights ago, "Metroradio Joey Yung Dance Music Party" was held at Waan Chai Wui jeen. This time, Joey had personally designed 3 different outfits for herself. Out of the 3 outfits, the gold low-cut super short dress was by far the sexiest. Also, she had hot dances with male dancers, "self touching actions," and when bending over, showed a lot of cleavage indeed, perhaps to reply to those comments about her saying that she had little "身材" (boobs essentially). Alan Luo who had only appeared for a short amount of time, every time he came out, recieved great cheers. At the end, the duet with Joey and Alan brought the excitement to the highest of the night. Joey gracefully didn't mind how Alan was stealing the lime of the light.

Joey had secretly practiced a whole set of dances. That night she sang 2 dance medleys, very spectacular indeed. She even sang several songs of other people <逝去的傳奇> (Shirley old song), Fiona's <886>, and Eason's <聽聽> (The McD song) Her hard work surely paid off. However when she sang <聽聽> she said, "lately my legs have Rheumatism (風濕). Can't dance as hard, so please give me more support with your applause." When she sang the song "confession" she mentioned of the composer, Nic Tse, "The person who wrote this song for me has been the talk of the town lately."

Alan Luo said that his mother had come watch his performance too, hoping to show her support for him. However, she had only wanted to support him quietly, so she didn't sit in the front row. For the night, there was a total of 2 encores, where both were Joey and Alan singing duets. At the end the 2 of them also took a big picture with their fans. Afterwards, Alan did not recieve interviews for he had left very quickly. Apparently, Alan had been sick that night so he really wanted to head back to the hotel to rest. However, due to the great response from the fans, Alan may be opening his own personal concert next year in Hong Kong.

About Joey's "風濕腳" (pain in legs) Joey explained it came from once where she went to a cheap massage place. Afterwards she felt pain and it got to the point that even standing up was painful. She said that she will go see a doctor soon. During the interview reporters talked about her sexy outfit and that her chest size didn't seem to be big enough. Joey looked down onto her chest and laughed, "Not really, from this angle, it looks pretty good! I'm actually more worried that I will "jau guang" because of all the crazy dancing, but in the end, you guys shouldn't be able to catch anything (pictures that is), I'm confident" When asked about Alan's lime light, Joey said, "Well of course I get a big star for a guest! As if I'm supposed to find someone that nobody wants to see. Alan rarely comes to Hong Kong. This time I brought him over to show you guys. Most importantly we all get high (from the show).

Also, about Vincy's performance, Joey praised her a lot, saying that her performances are becoming more and more stable. Vincy on stage mentioned that Joey is her idol, when asked about this, Joey replied, "Polite indeed! Luckily she didnt' sany that she's been listening to my songs since she was a young." Joey said that she will be filming "學警出更" TV series so she had cut her hair short.
