I saw The Devil Wears Prada which was a good movie if you are into comedy, drama and fashion.
This movie features Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
1. Acting: 5/5
2.Cinematography:5/5
3.Music:did not pay attention
This movie was about Andy Sachs( Anne Hathaway) who would like to be a journalist that live in New York with her boyfriend. But she ends with a job for Runway a major fashion magazine. Her boss was Miranda Priestly(Meryl Streep). Andy has to go experience a lot before she realize alot of things. Andy is also not a fashion caring person but she chages as the movie moves on.
THis was a worth watching movie. I love this because it was hilarious. It a good movie for when you have nothing to do and you think you might not like it. (but only if you have no interest in watching some movie like that)
This movie was a mixed of comedy and fashion. the clothes were great in the movie. I loved how everyone was afraid of the boss(Meryl Streep). She was a mean but not completely heartless. The acting was great because all the actors and actresses put all there efforts intop the movie.
:-) :excited: :bleh:

o wow i didn't even pay attention to the music in the movie so no comment about that part.
when i saw the commercial for this movie i was :excited: . i read the book, by Lauren Weisberger, n i loved it:-).
usually when i watch a movie that was a book i get dissapointed, but for this movie it came out really good. they picked out the right scenes to portray the book. i loved the funny moment and all that fashion..it kind of makes u want to work in a magazine place just to see if u really do get all that free clothes.
well there was this one tiny thing that i didn't like n it was the actor that was chosen to play Christian Thompson..he was suppose to be young n hot/cute, :worry: but he was kind of old ..well to me n didn't bring out the characteristics of Christian Thompson.

i actually beg to differ. i wouldn't watch the movie simply because i had nothing better to do. on the contrary, i made time to catch this movie. i made it a point to watch it the night before i left singapore to US for continuation of my studies because it was only released 2 days earlier before the day i was leaving, and it wasn't showing in the US anymore. and guess what, i wasn't disappointed!

the jokes are extremely witty, and to say its hilarious without defining the intelligence of it (people may think its slapstick) does the scriptwriter/author no justice.

if you enjoyed the fashion and clothes in Sex and the City, you will like it in The Devil Wears Prada too, because apparently the same designer who dressed SATC dressed TDWP.

Meryl Streep is just..... stunning. And a very good looker for someone with a head full of white hair.

And guess what... apparently Anna Wintour (Chief Editor for Vogue America) is very alike Miranda in TDWP. Intimidating, ice queen, able to make or break a journalist or a designer. AND, the author Lauren Weisberger used to be first assistant to Anna Wintour. So we can see where the inspiration is coming from... :wink2:

I've wanted to watch this movie eversince I saw the trailer in the cinema. Unlike all other movies that I wanted to watch, I actually got down and watched it. I must say it is not a disappointing show! :bleh:
I like the whole moral of the story: don't ever lose sight of what you want.
I like the lady who is acting as the Designer (the white haired lady). She is just superb. Not only she had portrayed the haughty (and stylish) role excellently, she also broke my heart as I saw her sitting there, trying to be tough over her pending divorce.
I thought what she did to Andi in the end was wonderful. :bleh:
"Andi is the most disappointing assistant I've ever had and you will be a fool if you don't hire her.":bleh:

i watched this movie early this month with my bf on a date because there was nothing else good to watch plus this is a romatic yet drama and comedy movie.

i knew this movie is based on a book but i havent read it so i cant say if it really does match the book's storyline.

the actors and actress picked for the movie were great.
err...i dont remember the music and sound so i give it an average

but really i truly recommend this movie if you're a big fasion follower, theres some fashion icon of the fashion-modeling industry you can identified like *cough* a victoria secret model that my bf recognize who i didnt even knew about :shifty:

i thought this movie was just mediocre..but then again, its not my type of movie cuz my friends dragged me to see it.
i dont think i'd see it again, but my friends quite enjoyed it so i guess it really depends on what type of movie you like. the plot was kinda predictable but it had its moments. i havent read the book so i dont know whether it'd live up to the standard.
but i quite liked the ending :D
all in all, if you like these types of movies, then you should watch this one.
if you like action and horror, this is definately not your movie.

I went to watch this with a couple of colleagues that day after work.

And we couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire movie, right from the moment Miranda walks in the picture. Because everything about her reminds us of our ex-boss, from the hairstyle, they way she talks, and how everyone in the office whenever she is coming into the office, etc.

To be honest, I didn't know what sort of a movie it'll be when my colleagues dragged me into the cinema with them. Because the title didn't really hit me.

But I'm glad my colleagues dragged me to watch with them because I really enjoyed myself in the movie. It has its fair share of highs and lows of Andy's life. And at times, I could really feel what Andy is going through because I have had a similar experience before.

Its like you're finally at where you always dreamt of being, only to realise that, it is not what you want, and you have to make a choice of whether to hang on to it, or moving on.

Overall, a very good movie from start to finish.

Well. it was a well worth-watching movie. Only the plot was too predictable, too happy ending. I guess I don't really like happy ending kind of movie. :-)

Anyway the clothes, the bags, theshoes are simply gorgeous. And the actress as well. I mean does everyone have to be that pretty? Made me feel really ugly. :D

Love Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. She reminded me of the Devil in Dalmation 101, it's the hair I think.

All in all okay movie.

i really didn't expect to enjoy the movie as much as i did. i went into the movie more interested in the fashion, but as the movie went on i really started to enjoy Meryl Streep's character. i would definitely recommend this movie to others. =)

This is definitley a flick that you can watch over and over again when you're bored because the clothes are just so nice! The storyline isn't too flash hot, but i like the humour. Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway did a brilliant job.. i love it how Streep always goes "thats all".
Overall it makes for an entertaining, light, chick-flick (although my guy friend enjoyed it too but they would never admit that:wink2: ).

Well, I love this movie.

It's funny, kinda sad, and well, I just loved it. But, I thnk that they could've done a better job at choosing the guys. I mean, come on. Andy's boyfriend is UGLY. And that Christian Thompson guy was like..what? 40 years old hag with no abs but pure blubber???? No way. And the movie was sorta predictable. But, I love all those fashion clothes in it, and well, Meryl Streep was hilarious.

I love Anne Hathaway! It's like...her 3rd or I dont know..fourth movie "adult movie".

I have been waiting for this movie, since, forever. We rushed to watch this movie straight after class.:D
Should I watch it again? I want to... but I don't feel like spending another RM10 on it.
On Acting, I give 5 for Meryl Streep. That woman deserves it. I love how she walked, how she drawled, (that woman can drawl!), and how she gaze at people. What a devil incarnated. LOL.
What stands out in this movie (other than Meryl Streep) is the clothes. I'd kill for that pair of Chanel boots.

What it for: Meryl Streep, and the SHOES.

this movie had a really bad effect on me. after watching it, i had the sudden compulsion to shop like crazy haha
anne hathaway was great as andie and i especially liked how she was this bungling new girl in the beginning, it reminded me of mia in the princess diaries. meryl streep was as scary as she was ethereal, but most of all, i loved stanley tucci's performance. it's the first time i've ever seen him play such an effeminate character.
Would I watch the movie again? the answer is YES, and I did watch it again, because i just had to take another look at all those fabulous outfits! My favorite Andie get-up would have to be the preppy-beatnick look (at least that's what it looked like to me >> scene where miranda tells andie that she and not emily will be going to paris w/ her) ...and the chanel sunglasses -- i so love it.
with that said, anyone would know that i watched the movie mostly for the clothes/bags/shoes/accessories. i didn't really care that much for the story because I don't read chick lit.
i would have to agree with sam_ho re the older guy. i was particularly disturbed by his eyebrows: they were so bushy and they looked like they've been bleached blond.:glug:

I actually couldn't wait to watch the movie but after I saw it, all I can say is it didn't really meet my expectations. Maybe it's not my type of movie. But I love Andy's makeover. Somehow, it struck me as comical that Anne was playing Andy. It seems that she always have to undergo some kind of makeover :D
Anyway, I'm not complaining because I think she looks gorgeous. I do like Meryl Streep too as she looks really elegant and composed all the time. It didn't matter that she plays a cold character. The story is rather predictable. But still it's quite a good watch when you're bored.

i surprisingly liked the movie and found it to be rather entertaining. yes predictable but you still like to see how everything unfolds nonetheless. Anne Hathaway was the reason i watched to be honest. its a plus that i liked it
