Central Station's Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) evening party, Jay is kicked out for not pronouncing clearly

Jay and Wubai are both Taiwan artists who are popular in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. There has never been anyone who has suspected their Mandarin pronunciation. Unfortunately they both recently got criticized by the Mainland China media for "not pronouncing clearly". The media told them to come back once they've learnt Mandarin, they really didn't give them any face.

Yesterday the Central Television channel announced the artists who will be performing in the Spring Festival (Chinese New year). The only names present were Aaron Kwok, Sandy Lam and Cecilia Cheung. Jay and Wubai have been pointed out to be people who don't pronounce clearly and so their names are not on the list. Jay's record company, Alfa Music have expressed that they have no intention of changing Jay's singing style because the reason why Jay was able to become popular was dependent on his unique characteristics and singing style. If he sang clearly, he would lose his characteristic.

i'll be really pissed off if any authorities banned him from performing here cuz of his mumbling
i agree that it's important to speak good chinese
but c'mon, u really think that the hongkong stars that were invited on the show will be speaking perfect chinese

anyway, it's good that jay's company is backing him up

haha yea its so lame. i agree its not like aaron kwok or cecilia cheung's mandarin is good...its pretty horrible! i htink sandy lam is a bit better. and besides they speak cantonese, so if anything jay speaks mandarin fluently, only differences in pronunciation. china's so big everyone's mandarin differs. only beijing has the most standard pronunciation

wow....amazing..i can't believe that they critizised jay!.....THATS WUT JAY IS SPECIAL FOR!..he can't speak chinese properly..so wut..as long as he CAN sing...it better than nothing....i like him cuz he doesn't sing properly..and plus it really doesn't affect the music that much....i would rather hope that jay wouldn't correct his chinese..cuz first of all its hard....just like pple learning english and trying to get rid of their mother tongue accent....and thats jay's style of music..he should really keep it that way...its only the chinese pple's loss and not jay's!

But I find it annoying the way HK people speak english with an american accent. Im english and I have a typical UK accent...its just so annoying, especially in raps that dont rhyme! Edisons 'I love you' song, that nearly killed me! I know hes canadian but I dont like it when they try to rap with words that dont fit....
