Mabuhay! Greetings from the 7,107 plus islands of the Philippine archipelago,
one of the largest and most beautiful in the world. :D

The 7th chapter of our home thread was recently locked after reaching the 500 post mark
so I thought I'd take the initiative to start a new one.

Hey fellas! We're on our eight thread! :excited:
If you want to relive the memories of our most recent thread, you can visit it HERE (http://jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16694).

Filipino or not, you are welcome to chat in this thread.
If you want to get to know us better or if you are eager to learn more about the Filipino culture.
Newbies are welcome too. Hi coucou!
Now where are the veterans? :shifty:

it's ok... ^^ thanks for starting this one anyway...

the other thread's been quiet for a few days... maybe they're busy

hi guys! just thought of dropping by... i missed this thread.. anyway...
i hope you could help us with this...

===

Hi guys!
Ate Chin and I decided to try this out and ask SonyBMG Philippines to bring Leehom's albums here...
She's going to write to them and I'm setting up this online petition. So if you really support Leehom, you can help us by signing our petition. Every signature counts. We need to show SonyBMG Philippines that Leehom has enough fans so that they can bring his stuff here.

here's the online petition:
http://www.petitiononline.com/leehomph/

I hope all of you will support this.
Thanks!

HELLO!!! how's everybody doing?

Sorry I've been away for awhile... been busy and quite stressed out with job-hunting, visa and the like. My internship with AmCham will be over by the 15th, and my visa expires end of the month so I have to find a company who can sponsor my visa. They're getting stricter with Filipino passport holders because there are more and more Filipinos coming here without the proper papers and documents. I still teach, plus I've been learning how to play the guitar for more than a month now and so far I'm enjoying it  If you guys can include me in your prayers, I would really appreciate it.

dianne do check with Jen (Chun Li). Awhile back, peiya pm'd me if I still wanted to subscribe to our forums and I said yes. The LQP forum link appears in the forums main page whenever I access it.

And speaking of Lee Hom, I went to his concert earlier this month. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as say, JJ Lin's. It was one big hip-hop party and you can't help dancing during some parts of the performance, but a lot of the songs he sang were the older ones and I felt that he missed out on some good songs. And I was just bowled over when he did the really fast, lengthy rap for "Zai Mei Bian." Hearing it live was AMAZING! His guests were Allan Kuo, the fans who composed/produced a song for him plus the Chinese opera star. They first advertised it was gonna be David Tao so was disappointed :worry: I bought myself a T-shirt and a towel though hehe

Will Pan and Jolin are holding their own concerts here in September. I think I'll skip them (esp Jolin hehe) coz I've watched one concert per month for the past three months now and it has taken its toll on my finances. I'm a bit worried for Will Pan, though, because I doubt if he can fill up the stadium which has a capacity of 80,000.

lene - i decided na i won't re-apply to LQP muna as of ngayon, because i always have too many things to do these days that i probably won't have enuff time to talk w/ the other LQPers. di ba they said that you have to be an active poster to stay part of the group? so yeah, baka i'll re-join by christmas na lang. =)

Hi there, Hanako!
:welcome: to JCNET! :D

And yes, this is the 8th Filipino thread, a proof that our home thread is among the most prolific local threads here in JCNET and that Filipinos are among the most active (and not to say most helpful and most friendly, among others ) members of this site. But I guess most of us are busy nowadays so we don't really have a lot of time to post. We just drop by every now and then to make our presence felt.

Anyway, where are you from?

lene
10-02-2006, 04:45 AM
hi from Davao!

how's everyone doing? I hope you're all safe and well, especially after the big storm. I arrived here last Wednesday night and have been quite busy meeting friends and relatives, running errands, seeing my doctors (medical services are pricey in Shanghai) and just getting my share of rest. I've been bonding a lot with my mom as well and it's just so good to be home.

Unfortunately, I won't be stopping over Manila this time around so I won't get to meet up with you guys. Anyway take care you all and let's revive the thread... soon?!?

im watching this movie, I NOT STUPID TOO, a singaporean movie by brilliant director Jack Neo...

so i was so alarmed, how come i dunno this song?!?!
so i paused watching, and checked out stuff about the movie.. and if i could know the song....

and i did.
ang ganda. but it's sooooo JAY!!! really... everything about it.. >< except that the singer inserted a little english.. that couldn't be Jay. Hahahaa....

if you wanna listen, click this to download:

http://download.yousendit.com/03819AB748B90A57

he was a contestant of some idol contest at SG... and he just released his album this year.

OK... i think imma be a fan. Hahahahahhaa.... all cos of Jay.... wouldn't be caught up into this song if it didn't sound like him! hehehehehee...

kamusta po! looks like everbody's busy... well at least we all still have extra time to visit the thread and make our presence felt.... hehehe! :-)

anyway, it was only yesterday that i was able to watch yung mga mv's of jay's new album (except yung farwaway, i was able to watched it before pa)... my personal favorite was ting mama de hua  though the video was very simple not to much graphics/effects whatsoever...it kinda shows the "other side of jay" the loving and obedient son... with a personal touch....and the kid that plays little jay.... soooo cute!!!! plus the baby pictures....

btw...have any of you guys saw the news last saturday.. they featured the wax museum in shanghai where they have wax figures of famous people...
jay was also mentioned (the reporter actually pronounced it as jay "chu") because he was standing next to elvis' wax figure and a lot of tourist are taking photos with them.... havent got a good look of the statue though so i dont know if he really looks like jay...

julie_chou i love ting mama de hua din! the mv doesnt have great effects but feel ko he's trying to put his childhood there... he's super shuai specially when he was wearing the black shirt and cap... plus the baby pics are so cute!

i wasnt able to watch the news pero oo nga! jay was mentioned daw... binalita lang sakin ng mom ko.. haha.. (shempre sinabi lang niya sakin after the news para hindi ako magtititili  )haha

Pao hi! haha... ive been seeing your posts sa soompi... hehehe... great to hear that you're having fun in korea! and that you already saw all (or almost all) of the people that you wanted to see! :wink2:

i havent seen I NOT STUPID TOO but my friend told me that jay was mentioned there! hahaha... something about the teacher rewarding the students with jay's cd if they behaved/ did well sa test? something like that... haha :D

oh pao where did you get your copy of I NOT STUPID TOO? I've been wanting to watch it. It should be available online no? I think you're talking about JY or Hong Jun Yang. His solo album is indeed very good. I love his duet with JJ Lin, "Love." How are you doing there? My former officemate and good friend (and now Arashi addict) Millet knows you from one of the online forums.

hi everyone!

I'm back in Shanghai after going through hell processing my papers in Manila for almost 2 months! Got to meet up with Meli and Felice; was so happy to have caught up with you again girls! :hugs: Will be here for only a week: to say goodbye to friends, visit my favorite places/restos hehe, see the sights all over again and oh yes, to pack my things most importantly hehe then I'm off to Hefei, where I'll be based for a couple of years for work.

I can't quite explain the way I'm feeling now, excited to embark on a new chapter in my life yet somehow yet feeling a tinge of pain and sadness at the knowledge that I won't be able to experience, live and breathe Shanghai on a daily basis anymore  I really really love this city to bits...

but I'll be brave because I know I have my purpose in Hefei, and I know that God is with me!

I wish you all the best in your endeavors, relationships and health. Happy Holidays everyone! :-)

but .....

weirdo does that once in a while too LOL
I guess you’ll be taken aback if you saw a middle age woman talking to her stuffed toy. Most of the girls or even women actually doing that all the time.
crying lowered my chances of driving myself crazy...until trivias and factoids came along. xD
No wonder you’re the trivia master of JCNet. I love trivia too but I guess I confine myself only to world history, that’s why I was disqualified in the beginning. haha excuses  ! I’m more interested in learning the history of the ancient world, especially acient Egypt , the land of mystery. I enjoy learning places and prestigious people all over the world too in preference to astronomy, I hardly touch on them , you know , the big bang idea and stuff :bigyuck: :bigyawn:

hey there, kahel! i bought it at the 3rd floor of g2 actually. see, there are these accessory shops near toby's sports arena. just look for the shop that sells dog chains. it's the 2nd or 3rd shop facing gold's gym. i'm not sure but i think there's 1 stock of the necklace left. but hey, trying your luck won't hurt anybody, right? :-)

my mother will return to the Phils in a few months and I would like her to get me his albums... I was able to get his "Ye Hui Mei" album back then in 2003!

Oh yeah... I'm asking if it's sold outside of "China Town" there... like in normal CD stores like Odyssey etc.

I'm purely filipina...and don't know anybody else (in the flesh) who likes jay chou here in the Philippines. But I really dig his music!

The only CD i have is November's Chopin na magasgas-gasgas na. Though I would love to have ALL of Jay's CDs, I'm on a budget. What would be best to purchase next? (I'm HK bound at the end of the month and will get it there...)

I'm thinking Cowboy On The Run coz its the newest....any tips?

Thanks so much!

I'm only half filipino.. and I'm living in Germany

hi genva:wave:
welcome to the filipino thread...im a pure filipina as well, im a big jay chou fan...:-)

hmmm... which cd to buy... well, if you are planning to collect all his cd's, might as well get the older ones first, cause you might have time finding them in the future (cause they might run out of stock) but if you just want to buy an album, my suggestions are ye hui mei, still fantasy or cowboy on the run...

Thanks julie_chou for the warm welcome and the tip!

The ideal would be to buy all his CDs while im in HK of course....but I think I would have to practice some restraint with this. I need to eat during my trip, hehehe.

Anyway, I also want to purchase the Secret soundtrack! An aunt gifted me with the VCD last year which delighted me to pieces!!!

Love Jay :-)

Oh yeah, thanks JenEm! Nice to know anyone who likes Jay! :-D

if you are staying on the kowloon side, try visiting sino center, its along nathan road (near the mtr mongkok station)... it is famous for its wide collections of dvds, vcds and other collectible stuff of various artists and asia...you can find the older jay albums there... but the newer ones can be found on regular record stores and cd shops....:-)

ah... yes, i do suggest as well that you buy the secret soundtrack... it comes with the photobook and is a really nice collectible item

Yeah, I hope so, too. I actually find it easy to convert people who are already accustomed to Asian stars to become Jay's fans since most of them are more open to listening to non-English music. That's why I didn't hesitate recommending Jay to my classmate-now-officemate. And now that she's also a fan, both of us are planning to spread Jay's music to our other classmates.

And I understand the feeling... You will always want more!

Julie, that's exactly what I did with my officemate (who is already a member of JC.net)! I think she got curious with all of my stories (more like gushes) about Jay. Then one day, she told me that she watched Secret (in Youtube, no less!), and she fell in love with his piano skills. After that, there's no going back for her. I gave her copies of Jay's albums and concert clips. Sometimes, she's even more updated than I am about Jay news, hehe!

My officemate and I also wish to go to Taiwan for his autograph session. And even my sister wishes to tag along with me. I hope everything goes as planned. *crosses my fingers*

It's so cute how jay filipino fans are trying to spread the jay fever around. My officemates now also know about him because of my stories and CDs.

Btw, julie_chou, was able to get Cowboy On The Run, Initial D VCd and 2007 World Concert tour DVD at Causeway Bay! Couldn't spot any Secret Soundtrack wherever I went (even at HMV). Anyway, I'm pretty happy :-)

The saleslady at UFO (where I got CDs) kept on hounding me to return the next day, "Tomorrrow...more Chou Kit Lun! More Chou Kit Lun!" Hahaha!

Hi, Julie_Chou! Thanks for the post. I actually don't know Mandarin. So I didn't know that he said that. I just remembered a lot of the audience screaming when Jay was talking. I did sing happy birthday with the rest of the audience.

With the cam thingy, I just thought that security would be strict because sistic posted a reminder about it being "strictly prohibited". So I didn't bother bringing my cam and cellphone. Such a waste considering that I wasn't able to take any pics.

Anyway, I just enjoyed myself listening and watching Jay perform. I was so thrilled to be there in the flesh. But definitely, I still wanted to see more of him. Three hours (approximately) just doesn't cut it. I would have stayed the whole night just to watch him. Hehehe....

Yeah, I saw his schedule tour in China posted at an online site. I was wondering, which would be the best area to visit; so I could do some sight seeing as well... I've never been to any part of mainland China. I would have wanted to watch his Macau tour but financially and my job as well, it's not possible. Sigh....

Anyways, until my next my post... Bye for now.

Hi OrangeDew:wave:
It was on a Inquirer newspaper main section one Sunday in January (I think), "Asia's Icons for 2007" or something (list of mixture of political, business and entertainment people who created an impact on their respective fields).
Was so proud that Jay was included. He was cited specifically for his breakthrough as a director for the movie "Secret"

I haven't been a jay chou fan for a long time, and i still am on the process of discovering his "awesomeness" (har, har, har) :-P Anyway, i was watching his Incomparable concert (VCD) and was wondering what are the titles of the songs that he sang at the beginning of the second VCD (i think its the white colored one). He was wearing over-alls and surrounded by guitar players.

Found them to be really nice and easy to listen to. Anyone who can help me out?

Hi everyone!

My sister and I (together with julie_chou and czarina) attended the autograph signing of Jay in HK last Sunday. We made sure that he saw our FeiLuBin (Philippine) banner. It was definitely an amazing experience for the four of us. :)

yup we difinitely had a great tym! :-) and we had so much unforgettable experience, haha! i :roll:can still recall wat happened when we were in the hotel for jay's presscon. haha! really funny :roll:
but i really hate the security :-x they quickly pushed us away in front of jay once he signed the card not sure if jay even saw my face.
if they only knew how much i waited for that moment.

guys! wanna have listening party for jay's new album? :excited:can we set up a get together?

hi gwen!
yes... its been a while... :-) how are you? have you listened to the new jay album?

mia
so its been a week now... i still cant believe that we were able to go there and had his autograph... i cant help but smile whenever i think of our adventures (and misadventures) in hk... hehehe! im pretty sure now that jay knows that he has fans in the philippines...

czarina
thats the price to pay in being a fan...dealing with difficult securities and p.a.'s well im sure there's more adventure for us, as long as jay continues to do music... we still have our chance ayt?! :-)

Wow:-) It's amazing that you guys were able to go to Jay's autograph signing! Truly happy for you guys!

I'm just giddy to have finally received his newest CD (which I may say has an incredibly cool cover), I wouldn't know what I'd do if ever I get to see him in the flesh.

hi 'ate' julie...
hmm i discovered this site when i was searching for cartoon version of jay :)
the first time i saw jay on tv was about 4-5 years ago. there was this channel where they often report news about him. (i think its like their version of startalk)
but i used to hate him during those days haha...

im a late bloomer jay fan too... i only started to like him during the pepsi 9 stars promo... but i have been an avid fan since then...fangirling him has become one of my passion.... :D

and aileen is right...we are not allowed to convese in tagalog here since its an international forum.... maybe common words like "mabuhay" or "salamat" would be okie... but not an entire sentence though...

aileen
jay concert here?! hmmmm..... thats quite hard to achieve... but not impossible :-) i cant blame you for wishing that... jay is a total package.... and seeing him perform in concert is a really great exprerience
