Everyone knows that smoking is harmful but we still see there are many people continue their life with smoking. I don't intend to offend one who smoke, just want to know how many of us, JCNetizens are the smoker ? :rolleyes:

For me, I have tried once, and I don't like it >.<

i am a non smoker. however, i have tried smoking once or twice before and didn't like it at all. i guess it was the smokey aftertaste that remained on my tongue that really put me off - and im glad of it. cigarette prices are extortionate and i wouldnt want to spend £5 on a packet every now and again.

the times i did smoke though was mainly due to peer pressure. i must admit, it does affect me a lot. fitting in to a group is vital for me... lucky im not within that group anymore.

Boy I hate smokers. Man lucky I'm still schooling so most of the time I spend each day's in school & it's kinda safe from smokers, but the occasional smokers at busstops really put me off. I know I sound mean, but I think they're really inconsiderate. I wonder if I'll die of passive smoking some day :|||||||

& anyway, I don't think I'll ever pick up a cigarette in my life at all. Basically they disgust me :X

I don't smoke. I have this friend who likes to smoke this kind of cigarette that has fruit scent and it makes me feel like vomitting. Seriously. They think it smells good with the strawberry scent and all but no, it's killing me. Worse than the normal type of cigarette.

Well i am a nonsmoker, i know some people that do smoke and then i have a parent that smokes, but i dont even want to smoke. I dont believe its something that is good for the health, or the body, so therefore i chose not to. But i dont ever want to become one.

Good question. Some people smoke as a stress reliever 'cause it helps them to relax and feel better,
like in my case, I only smoke in the midst of severe emotional surges.
I smoke when I feel extremely overjoyed, anxious and mad.
Smoking calms me down in a way I can't explain. I don't know about the others
but that's the main reason why I smoke. And not to forget that boredom also triggers smoking.
One thing I don't fully understand is why it's sooo hard to quit smoking. :hmm:

Well addictions are always difficult to quit, especially one that involves your body. It's the same with drugs, but not as terrible in your case, since it's only during certain times. But I guess you can quit it if you really want to. Get a friend to help you (:

A lot pf people are nonsmokers here. I am also a non smoker. For some reason, I get sleepy when I am around people who smoke. I guess its because of the fumes. hehe I never tried smoking because I have asthma. hehe

I can tolerate my friends who smoke but as much as possible I avoid them when they are smoking. Boy, their breath smells like smoke and their clothes too. Not to mention sometimes my clothes smell like smoke just because of sitting with them!

i tried twice.. it doesnt feel good , made my mouth smelly and cough..
all my friends regretted smoking and they are addicted now.. they tried to quit but they cant..now government is increasing the prices of cigrettes.
it doesnt look cool. if you are underage u may get fined when u are caught smoking.
i would not encourage people to smoke. it has no benefits and may even get some serious illness.

I have tried puffing it ONCE when i wasn't sober. I was pretty much drunk, and my so-called friend asked me "do you wanna try??"..
and of course, i couldn't stand the temptation, so yeah that was basicly my first and HOPEFULLY my last.

I really dislike smoke and can't stand the smell or being anywhere near it. A lot of people at my work smoke and will do that on their breaks, but I just can't stand it. Someone I know who used to smoke quit just over a year ago and she's already saved almost $4,000. Also, smoking can shorten the lives of those smokers are around (family, friends, pets - second hand is *so* damaging). My grandpa knew those risks when he quit cold turkey after 20 years of smoking.

There was one teacher who was more like a friend to me, and it always made me mad when he went to smoke. So a friend and I took his smokes and threw them away. Obviously he was mad, but he got over it. :3

Yeah, I am from Singapore too~ Oh well, Singaporeans, lots of them are smokers. And we inhale the air which the smokers actually exhale. Actually, I don't see what so great about smoking. It's like, you'll get stained teeth, black nails, high chance of lung cancer? I even get the chills when I think about it.

Underage smokers? Yeah, I have seen 13-17 year old students taking a puff. It feels weird and sad having to see them being led astray at such a young age! They should quickly quit smoking or else they'll become addicted to it soon...

I personally have never tried smoking and never will try it. But I cannot say that I hate smokers, because my parents did smoke when they were alive. I just don't like the smoking itself. My dad died from pancreatic cancer, but my mom did not. She died from sadness and stopped eating because dad had died from smoking and got cancer from smoking. So I don't think smoking would be the best for me to ever think of doing, if you catch my drift where this eventually leads to. Just too sad to think about or even mention cigarettes.

Personally, I don't smoke. The younger you are when you start, the easier it is to become addicted. And smoking is a pretty tough habit to break. Several smokers I know even told me they regret it, because smoking makes lengthens their recovery time from allergic attacks and colds!
