Has anyone watched "Miami Vice" starring Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx and Gong Li?

I thought it was quite crap. Only good parts were the cars, the guns and the bods of the 3 actors. Actually, you didn't even get to see much of Colin's body except for his arms!!! And his shoulder length hair was not very appealing either. There was not much of a storyline and in Australia, they do not have English subtitles accompanying the movie, therefore, you couldn't make out half of what the characters was saying since they are FBI undercover agents and talking about their job in code!!! Even my Australian born friends could not understand what they were saying.

Oh, and what's it about the actors going at it like rabbits?!! I think there is a point when enough is enough? Director - you have already made your point about the characters' relationships.

Possibly, the best part of the movie was the gun fight near the end of the movie...hmm...wasted money for nearly 2 hours?!??

Any comments?

i watched it. i didnt really like it, didnt really know what mann was going for, artistic or raw kinda feel? it didnt seem to have a climax it sorta just ended. although it was kind of cool how it was like cops and seemed real at times as if you are a part of the action so if you like that you will also probably like this movie

I didn't really like the shaky camera scenes as well. To me, it should have been standardised...either for all chase scenes to be shaky or to be steady. Seems very inconsistent and those shaky camera scenes irritated me during the movie.

Hmm, haven't seen it, but the reviews in this thread make it look crap. Have to say tho, the soundtrack is decent. I'll check out the movie and join in the hatin' later...

ADD: Have seen the movie. Wow. That was a shocker. I spent the 1st few minutes complaining of Colin Farrells over-acting being worse than Jim Carrey, snorted when Gong Li got it on with Colin (epic session dude, seriously...it's not like you're in the middle of anything, oh wait THE MISSION!!!), and was impressed by how well they glamourised trailer-park trash. Geez, they were such tough competition, that it took an undercover narc team to take down 6 ppl (including a teenage boy & his doped up mom). It was cool though when the sharp shooter lady took the detonator-man down, but otherwise it was mindless entertainment for 2hrs.

Positives: A few outfits for Gong Li, the soundtrack (still), Jamie Fox.

MeGal There were scenes in Australia?!?! How did I miss that? Yeap, I noticed the shaky/in-your-face camera shots they used. That was an annoying technique, made the scene's look amatureish.

Very bad movie, doesn't live up to the hype and paycheck.

You got Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx in a movie for God's sake, can't you do anything better with the scripting? They made Farrell and Foxx like trash actors and not like the Academy Award-winning actor level they actually are. Farell played a lot better in SWAT and of course everyone will remember Foxx from Collateral.

Miami Vice? No one will remember. I'm quite shocked that the producers of Curse of the Golden Flower even bothered to put this in Gong Li's filmography in the trailer.

I saw the trailer for "Curse of the Golden Flower" and wondered :? Why even mention Miami Vice?

I was never really a fan of Collin Farrel. Jamie Foxx, ok. Never bothered to try to watch it, it's just not my cup of tea. And after reading this, I know now to stay away from it.
