No I'm not really in LOTR, the book was really boring, I still haven't finished it.

I watched the first movie and I didn't like it very much, but I went back to see the sequel, this just shows how stupid I am, now I have to go back to see the final installment.

I like Aragorn too and gollum and of course Legalos but only in the movie, for some reason in the book I like Pippin and Gandalf.

Yes.. i am very into LOTR!
Its such a cool and spirital trilogy.. i wonder why tolkien have such wonderful imaginations to write stories like that..
and i definitely salute the director who directed the 3 parter movie of LOTR.. he's damn good~
I love Legolas Greenleaf in the movie.. that elf is so hot! Whahaha.
The 3rd part, Return Of The King, is coming this december right? Whoo.. i can't wait to see it man.. :)

OMG!!! i love LOTR.....i'm such a HUGE fan of Legolas.... ^^ god hez so hot........!!! the silky long blonde hair....gorg blue eyes and pointy ears hehehahaha ^^

i read the hobbit and then read all 3 LOTR books from the age of 11-12 and didn't really understand everything but i got the gist of it......so i know wats supposed to happen...but movies never really follow the orginally storyline....as is evident from the fellowship of the ring and the two towers....but oh wellz....

i love watching the 2 movies....its different from wat i pictured in my mind as a child but when somone puts it up there for u on the big screen its like...WOW.........

i SOOOOOOOO cannot wait for the return of the king.....aiiiiii ^^ :) more legolas hehehahaha

I hate the fact that it's so descriptive, in the book Tolkein would take ten pages just to describe what the grass looks like, that's pretty much the reason why I haven't bothered to read the rest of the book.

I'm not obsessed, but I thoroughly enjoyed LOTR. The movie was really awesome, but i never bothered with the books, it seemed way too long and just staring at the text will make me dizzy. > <

One thing that i just don't get...i know Legolas is hot and all, but is he that good? *dodges rotten tomatoes thrown my way* ...but personally i find Aragorn a little tiny bit cooler....^^

Anyhow, i'm really looking forward to the third movie.

I love LOTR!
Loved it after I caught the first movie.
After that went to pick up the books...

Yeah, it's pretty boring at first... but once you get past the front, it'll get very exciting!

Maybe cos I read the books, so my perception of each character is different and I didn't like the way Frodo is being potrayed in the movie. He seems so much like a weakling. And there was too much of Arwen in the movies... she's not supposed to appear so many times!

Can't wait to see the Return Of The King! :excited:

does anyone feel sad that it's the last of the trilogy?
I mean after the return of the king has finished, no more is gonna come out! That means no more aragon, gandalf, frodo and no more LEGOLAS!!!

.... so sad...

There's always the original -- the BOOK trilogy :bleh:
but then again, no legolas for you (and me) in there....

oh and there's "the Hobbit" too, which is kind of the "prequel" to this...
read it a long long long time ago, so i can't recall exactly....

But i must say i really liked the movies....I can't believe they filmed EVERYTHING at once and are releasing only one each year -- talk about scheming, and EVIL!!! smart business tactic, but evil all the same.... I like the Two Towers much better than the first one though....it was (to me) much more awe-inspiring...
loved the part where Legolas slid down the steps at the fortress shooting the arrows......and also his horse gymnastics

i am growing impatient for the third installment. :excited:

as for the books? i loved the hobbit, but i barely made it though FOTR.i saw TTT before i could get the chance to read it. i now have no desire to do so. i might in a few years, but not right after seeing the whole trilogy in film.

oh well.. Legolas is fun to look at....not to read~!
Orlando~!

Yeah it does make me really sad that this is going to be the last one. There won't be The Hobbit movie, and even if there was one, it wouldn't have Frodo and Aragorn and Merry and Pippin and Legolas and all the characters that we've gotten to like so much... It's more sad for the actors, who had been working on this movie for so long together and then.. it was over. It's sad to think that we'll never see another movie with all those actors working together again, and another movie with all those characters.

Oh well...

On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to the Return of the King. I must see it on opening day. Most likely I'll cry in it.

GOSH! i can't wait for the ROTK!! its like my fav movie...luv almost all the characters esp Aragorn. :D

Yep, i've finished the book too, but it was really tiring. hopefully the ending of the show is good, coz i heard they cut off some part of it, like mabbe the movie ends when the ring gets tossed into the mountain and the war ends.

there're plans to show all 3 of the movies together in a movie marathon...i'll be there...definitely!!

i love lotr! can't wait til opening day! last year when i went on opening day for two towers, there were all these ppl cosplaying. it was pretty cool. and it's so incredible being in the theatre full of lotr fanatics.

did any get tickets to see the whole trilogy (extended versions of fotr and two towers + first screening of rotk) on the 16th? i was gone on the day they started selling the tickets online, and it was sold out by the end of the day. and there's only one theatre near me that's actually showing the screening. gahh it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing too.

haha i love legolas too. i wish i was an elf. and i also love aragorn, pippin, and smeagal.

i really love the books too. the hobbit was an easy read. the trilogy was slow in the beginning, but it was really good after i got into it. there's so much stuff in the books that's different or didn't make it into the movies. did anyone read the other books tolkien wrote? like the silmarillion? i think the world tolkien created is just incredible.

I like LOTR too~ I am pretty lazy so i only watched the movies~ Personally, I like The Two Towers out of the first 2 installments at the moment. The battle scene is just so spectacular and the storyline is interesting (reminded me of FF VI when the group has split up and carrying out their task separately~)

I can't wait for The Return of the King to be screened~

The character i like the most should be Legolas (Orlando Bloom)~ He's just so outstanding out of the whole group~ But one thing still puzzles me till now:- why does Legolas never run out of arrows?

they're both really long movies, so you have to sit for a while. that's why i didn't go to the theatres to see it. i rather rent it and watch it comfortably at my house with pillow all around me on my comfy couch. the battles were really good! i like the view of the hobbit area, it looked really cool. i wanted to live in that village.

Legolas also has a long knife. apparently elves don't use "swords" but he has a knife.

LOTR is the best book i've ever read so far. The Two Towers was the best coz that's where all the action is. if anyone hasn't read it yet, i highly recommend it. the movie is great, but the books are even better. seriously, i couldn't put the book down.

it would be more convenient if they did have this special..."power"? but no, Legolas picks up unused arrows:

'And I', said Legolas, 'will take all the arrows that i can find, for my quiver is empty.' He searched in the pile and on the ground about and found not a few that were undamaged and longer in the shaft than such arrows that the orcs were accustomed to use. Yea...it's very clever marketing. They are making so much money from the movies enough and now with DVD sales. The profit is huge since they filmed it in New Zealand and with the conversion...it works to their advantage.

It was like when LOTR came out on DVD, my family literally had 3 copies and I was thinking...just wait a couple of months and the extended version will come out and then we'll have even more copies of the movie than we really need!

Omg, I love LOTR to the bits.

When the first part "Fellowship of The Rings" came out, I watched it with a lot of perception. I knew it was one of those fantasy-based stories, and I don't usually digs that fantasy stories movies (such as Star Wars). But well, all of my friends wanted to watch that movie so bad. So... I had to agree with them because I didn't want to sit in the theater alone anyway.

The first thing, I was very impressed by the cinematography. They made this battle scene in the beginning so alive and so detailed. Then as I followed the storyline, I become more and more hooked. I definately fell in love with Legolas. He's a very charming one. His hair was always in place and he didn't need to get sweaty to kill the bad guys. And Frodo's eyes are beautiful. He has the best pair of blue eyes.

Anyhow, this movie is the first 3 hour movie that made me hold my bathroom breaks because I didn't want to miss any part.

I'm excited to wait for the last part this december. And collect the last part VCD after that. (Have to wait for one more year for that.) I have never been so much into a movie. I think LOTR is the best one in this decade.

ker_ai_teresa
10-20-2003, 01:18 PM
Sum^mer, you have to read the book!! the beginning is a tad bit boring but you need to persevere coz it gets really, really good! if you think that the way they shot the film and all the special effects were good, well the book is even better! using just the mastery of words and skill, Tolkien literally painted the imagery of each scene so that you can see with your mind exactly what is happening while you read. Tolkien is just the best!!!

about the casting, yes Orlando Bloom was perfect for the character Legolas, and i will forever think of him as a blonde even though his natural hair colour is brown.

but my fave characters have to be Gandalf and Arogorn. Ian Mckellen was so convincing as the wizard, powerful yet gentle and wise. in fact, i think he's perfect for the role of Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series! i mean, the two roles are quite similiar anywayz.

and Arogorn...well, he is the true hero

Actually one of my friends thought he was hot.

When I was watching The Two Towers (can't remember the exact part) and Gandalf was walking with Frodo and the others I caught a glimpse of his shoes and saw runners I thought they made a big mistake in the film but it ended up being normal.

How many times did you guys go see LOTR The Fellowship and The Two Towers in the cinemas?

I've only seen both of them once, I thought my friend was crazy when she saw The Fellowship of the Ring 7 times and The Two Towers 10 times!

Teresa, I have always wanted to get the books, but they don't sell the English version in Indonesia. I don't want to read the translated version as some of the meaning might be distorted. I hate translated books. Sometimes it could be sooo different in meaning with the original one. (Take bible for instance). Maybe if I go to Spore, I'll visit the bookstore and buy those things.

YOu know what, I find "The Two Towers" a little bit boring compared to "Fellowship of the Rings". Because it was mainly a lot of battles. While the Fellowship of the Rings are more adventurous, thus more exciting. Or is it just me?

And I think the best character in "The Two Towers" is that weird creature (Who first found the ring, and always whisper "My Precious", and he has double personality too). I know it was computer animated, but it was so alive. And I found him kind of funny. At one point you can really hate him and at one point you can really feel sorry for him.

Orlando looks so much cuter in LOTR rather than in Pirates of Carribean. I think blond hair suits him better.

ankh
10-22-2003, 09:57 AM
Yeah Orlando looks so much more cuter in LOTR! I thought he looked a little like Beckham in POTC, esp when with the sand on his face.

Oh you mean Gollum? I don't understand why people likes to laugh at him. He's such a sorry creature. Maybe it's because I read the book so I feel more pity for him. I don't like reading the books first because I tend to be more critical of the movie after that.

Don't worry Summer, I like Fellowship Of the Rings better too. I think The Two Towers focused too much on the battle at Helm's Deep. And less development on the characters, thus. But most people like Two Towers more.. I don't know why!

:excited: I'm still excited for the 3rd one! :excited:
But I'm wondering how are they going to cramp everything into the last movie.
Shall not say anymore, in case of spoilers.

i tot the part where Gollum was singing and catching fish was pretty cute, otherwise he's a pretty sad creature...

hmm..i loved the battle at Helm's Deep. Watched it twice juz to see the battle again. it was so riveting, watching them fight. mabbe the dvd has the extended version coz apparently they cut it otherwise the movie would be way too long.

*adds one more dvd to my already long list...darn*

ankh, angel on clouds, hehehe, I actually love Gollum. He's a very lovable creature (at times). I always pity him everytime he called Frodo "Master", how he was so submissive, and how Frodo's friend, Sam always treated him badly in the first time. If I were there, I would probably scold Sam for scolding Gollum. Besides, he seemed like a very innocent creature, when he's in the "angel" side. I found it very amusing how he was battling between the "angel" and "devil" sides of him.

Oh wow, I should really buy the books. I just don't want to read the books before I watch the movie. Same reason as ankh. I don't want any spoilers.

I tried to read the book but the narrative was so long it gave me headaches! Tolkien really did have this perception of his make believe world.

The movie version of LOTR is diao! They did try to strictly (not really, hehe) follow the book. I guess they're afraid of die-hard fans criticizing it. But there were scenes that were added for Hollywood effect.

I just saw the trailer for Return of the King today. Can't wait. I hate Elijah Wood though (sorry, acquired classical conditioning with the name elijah, hehe)

don't spoil it..Hahaha.. december 16th awaits.. Gahhh!!!

Do they sell the tickets now? Coz last year I think they did that. LOL. I might have to wait in lin with the other 300 people wanting to watch it like last year. LOL Amazing experience.. hahaha.. It's prolly impossible to watch it like the 1st day its out. I went to watch the 2nd one the 2nd day it was out and.. it was PACKED.

AIYAAA..... No Spoilers, please...

But.... I already read about "Sam dies" agh.....then I guess I won't cry that much when I watch it. He's a loyal guy, esp. to Frodo. Don't know how Frodo could take the path to the Mountain where he gonna destroy the ring alone.

Okay you guys. Don't spread rumors or give away spoilers here, or if you want to, we'll have to change the title of this thread and/or split it into another thread where spoilers and possible rumors can be discussed.

I myself have read the books and Sam does not die.. to clear that up. We don't want people going into the movie thinking Sam dies ><; but it is very possible to believe that another character dies, that I won't mention.

Please don't kill the movie for the people that haven't read the books.

YOu know what, I find "The Two Towers" a little bit boring compared to "Fellowship of the Rings". Because it was mainly a lot of battles. While the Fellowship of the Rings are more adventurous, thus more exciting. Or is it just me?

well, for me coz i read the books first, The Two Towers is definitely more exciting than The Fellowship. When you get the chance to read it, you'll understand why. The Fellowship took a long while before the story actually begins. the beginning part about the shire and Bilbo's birthday party really dragged on. plus some events of the first leg of Frodo's journey was cut out in the movie so that story would move along faster.

Yeah Orlando looks so much more cuter in LOTR! I thought he looked a little like Beckham in POTC, esp when with the sand on his face.

Orlando like Becks? now that you've mentioned it ankh...i can see the resemblance! but he definitely looks way better in LOTR! esp when he's posed with the bow and arrow by his cheek, ready to let the arrow fly.

I think The Two Towers focused too much on the battle at Helm's Deep.

it was actually the battle which made the book exciting to read. i esp liked how Tolkien switched from one part of the fellowship to the other, coz the fellowship had been broken up into 3 separate groups and they all had their own struggles to face, which to me, really added to and built up the climax.

what's this about Sam dying??? nothing of the sort happened, in fact he....got married in the end and had children

hehe...actually, that's not really a spoiler coz it doesn't affect the outcome of the story...

Haha me too! They kinda emphasize a lot on his height. The camera was scanning the legions of elves on top of the castle, until it reached Gimli. It was funny cos of the great disparity in height. He couldn't even see past the castle walls.
And how he kept complaining when he was lagging behind Aragon and Legolas during the search for Merry and Pippin.

In 2005, a musical version of Lord of the Rings is set to open in London. The music for this production will be composed by Indian composer A.R. Rahman who, as producer Kevin Wallace said, "writes brilliant melodies with an exotic quality." Wallace hopes the creative music will "recreate" Middle Earth.

:excited: :excited: Wow I have missed this interesting topic for so long!!! I simply LOVE LOTR. Its the best movies I have ever seen in my whole life!! The whole movie was shot so beautifully!!! It really makes me wanna go to new zealand just to see the beautiful nature scenery. Actually at first i didnt know what kind of movie this was, I was just being dragged by my boyfriend to watch the movie. And guess what, I was totally mesmerised by the whole plot, the cinematography, the beautiful scene and of cos Legolas  He totally stolen my heart.... And I was so disappointed when the first movie ended so abruptly.

I also find that the 2nd movie was better than the first one maybe because it was full of action!!! There was not a single dull or boring part in the 2nd movie!! My eyes were totally glued to the screen. This is the first time that I am so obsessed with a movie. Obsessed I may be but i just cant buy those thick books and read them page by page I guess I will go crazy :D But I did get the DVD version and gosh I love the movies!!!!

Cant wait for the 3 movie to come out but its quite sad that there will be no more continuation of the movies..... :wink2:

LoTR is supposed to be the best book in the century. *snorts* Honestly... the book wasn't all that gd, cos of all the descriptions. I swear, Tolkein is the most long-winded writer in history!!

I love Legolas most!! Aragon is losing only by a teeny weeny bit though!! Peter Jackson on The Return of the King!
Source: Ain't-It-Cool-News
Friday, November 7, 2003
From: http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=2229

Ain't-It-Cool-News talked directly with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King director Peter Jackson who revealed the scene with Saruman & Grima got cut but will end up on the DVD. Also, no scouring of the Shire will be seen.

We have decided to save the Saruman sequence for the DVD. It's a great little scene. 7 mins long. Chris is wonderful, as usual. Brad is in about 6 shots. It was a film maker decision - nothing to do with the studio.

The problem is that the sequence was originally shot for The Two Towers, as it is in the book. Since The Two Towers couldn't sustain a 7 min "wrap" after Helm's Deep, we thought it would be a good idea to save it for the beginning of the Return of the King. The trouble is, when we viewed various ROTK cuts over the last few weeks, it feels like the first scenes are wrapping last year's movie, instead of starting the new one. We felt it got ROTK off to an uncertain beginning, since Saruman plays no role in the events of ROTK (we don't have the Scouring later, as the book does), yet we dwell in Isengard for quite a long time before our new story kicks off.

Visit the link above for more on why the scene was cut, the running time of the final installment and more!

I am downloading the trailer now

i've seen the trailer and i can't wait to watch it next mth. my aunt in NZ already booked the tix for me & my bro to watch it since we're going for a 3 weeks hols in NZ next mth.

correct me if i'm wrong (maybe some1 said it in here already) but in the book, eowyn had only a small mention in it, right? only in the movie, her role is developed into aragon's lady love to 'spice up' the movie plot (since aragon& arwen is the only lovebird couple in the film, a love triangle will make it better?)? :?

i think eowyn was more than a mention in the book......she's actually quite important in the hobbits part of the tale......

plus...eowyn might just get someone else....(man..this is hard...i don't wanna give anything away......)

:) Yeah, the trailer for the 3rd part movie looks reallyyy good. Arragorn doesn't look as messy as before (wink). LOL. I also luv da part when Gandalf and Saruman were fighting, i was like, 0.0 "Cool! Wizard fight! Wizard fight!"
Mannn, i wish Peter Jackson can do da 'The Hobbits' tale. Coz' it shows a pretty good story background of how Smeagooooooollllll became Gollum ("my preciousssssssssssssssssssssssss..." LOL... god i luv that everytime he says it! LOL! Cracks me up! ^v^).

yea but all three movies were shot at the same time. So they basically lived in NZ for three years. I think it was New zealand? There some clips of them having some fun during their stay there. Legolas or should I say Orlando bloom went skydiving....or was that bungee jumping......
LOL! Yeah, they've been living in NZ and have their own houses and apartments. :) And *cracks up laughing* yeah... Orlando Bloom/Legolas has been throwing himself out of the plane, bungee jumping, skiing, surfing (no wait- that was in Australia). LOL... yeah, i agree- if u've read the diary they shown, u'd fall off ur chair laughing... (There's this joke between Arragorn/Viggo and Legolas/Orlando where they call names to each other... :bleh: LOL... like "Scum"-->to Viggo and "Sissy"-->to Orlando. LOL! They're soooo hilarious! :D

Yup! I saw that on TV too... When the two guys who played merry and pippin went out to this cafe to have breakfast and they were like 'what about the second breakfast' or sumthing, which was a quote from the film! Yea, orlando went bungee jumping and he said that peter jackson told them to be safe and less playing and he was like NZ is the heaven of activities or somehting like that....

Cant wait...!!!!!! ROTK here i come!!! wait, it's not out yet -_-'''

Eowyn actually played a major role in the last two books. She is the neice of Theoden, king of Rohan. she was asked to accompany the women and children of Rohan to the caves to hide just b4 the war began. she refused to becoz she wanted to help with the fighting, which she was fully capable of since she is quite skillful with a sword. she falls in love with Aragorn (who wouldn't?) but he only had space in his heart for Arwen of the elven race.

Phyxius--> those pics were hilarious!!! was Andy meant to be Aragorn? how sad....but i can imagine Eric Zhang (zang? zung? chang?) as Gimli the dwarf!!

just a side thing, is it just me or does anybody else think the name "Rohan" sounds nice? i know it's meant to be a name of a place but i wouldn't mind naming my son, if i ever have one, Rohan...

Announcement for LOTR fans!

Yesterday (14th Nov '03) I watched the news on TV that Peter Jackson would cut the 7-minute opening scene of Saruman's scenes. He thought that Saruman is not involved in The Return of The King anymore as the real villain in ROTK is Sauron, not Saruman. He also think that it is better for the audience to straight go into the story of ROTK rather than still messing up with The Two Towers story. He defenced his opinion by referring to the novel that Saruman is not mentioned in the ROTK book as he is already a history, so, Peter Jackson would cut this 7-minute opening scene and will add this scene to the add-on later on the DVD.
Christopher Lee (Saruman) is being interviewed and he said that he has no idea about this...and He will not attend the opening ceremony of The Lord of The Rings: ROTK later in Wellington (I think he is angry with Peter Jackson's decision).

Do you agree with what Peter Jackson did? I personally think that the scene shouldn't be cut, because in The Two Towers, the story of the two towers itself hasn't really ended...but nonetheless...I will still watch the movie though...So, what do you think about this guys?

gr8t_gal
11-15-2003, 01:25 AM

If he didn't cut it, the movie would of been 3 hours and 30 minutes. Right now it stands at 3h 22m (or around there).

Also it's not all die hard fans who go to see the movie. Alot of average people go to see it and I don't think they want to sit for that long. 3 hours is already long for a movie.

While I would of wanted it to be in their I understand that it is a business. The longer the movie is the less money they can get in a day at the box office.

The scene will be in the Extended Edition though. So it's not like it's gone forever.

Wow, so many fans! How wonderful. Count me in as another one of LoTR fans. I soooo can't wait for the Return of the King to be release. Gosh, the anticipation is killing me.

LEGOLAS! I liked his character before I even seen the movie. And then they cast Orlando Bloom---and then I liked him even more. Became quite obsessive. But yeah, he kicks ass. Next to his character, I luv Aragorn, he's such a manly man compared to the ever so graceful Legolas and then there's Gandalf(Don't you wish you had a grandfather like him?)

Just two days ago when I was watching a clip of Orlando being interviewed. He mentioned that he had to go back for reshoots---cuz Pete Jackson wanted to top his famous 'horse swinging and shield gliding scene'. So expect to see more awsome stunts! kekek

By the way, I really think Pete Jackson should win the oscar for Best Director. And the Best picture should also go to the LoTR. After all the hard work and effort being put into this epic. They deserve to win.

I'm not really particular about awards, especially those Oscar and Academy. But...yeah...Peter Jackson deserves to get the award for the best director because he directs 3-4 different scenes in different locations at the same time using satellite video conferencing! And despite of that, the whole movie is still great! So, he definitely deserves to get that award. As for the other categories, up to the judges or juries... :wink2:

cinsin
12-08-2003, 02:50 AM
Ooh I'm going to see it on the day it comes out, only because I have nothing better to do but I haven't booked my tickets yet, but last time when I booked tickets there was no point because there was hardly anyone there on the day it premiered. I think it depends on what time you go.

Phyxius
12-08-2003, 08:12 AM
nupengyou, if you are currently in Japan, i suggest you to book your tickets!! Coz there's thousands of ring fans in Jap!!! There were even hundreds who flew to NZ for the premier!!!
I actually don't think it's very useful to book coz it's gonna be full of ppl anyway... So, i'll jst have to hold on to my horses and wait a few days until nearly everyone watched it

cinsin
12-08-2003, 08:46 AM
Actually Phyxius I'm not in Japan, I only put that down as my location because I wish I was in Japan, so I can have a white Christmas.

And it is useful to book, well in Australia it is, because they give you your tickets when you book and when you go there for the premiere you don't have to worry about lining up in a long queue to get your tickets.

And don't worry about having to wait for a couple of days, just don't go near anyone that has already seen it and who could spoil the movie for you, that is if you haven't read the book.

I like Aragorn, he's so manly... :swoon:

i couldn't agree more Phyxius....but it would seem that the majority of ppl go for Legolas...don't forget tho ppl that the third instalment is essentially about Aragorn...The Reurn of the King....yay! :excited:

12-09-2003, 10:48 PM
lol..yea, i think aragorn is cute too...i think most of the guys look so much better int eh movie than in real life...lol...
orlando bloom should've so been born blonde..lol..he's so hot...
i think most everyone thinks orlando is hotter than aragorn cuz he's younger...
8 MORE DAYS UNTIL LOTR3!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12-10-2003, 04:28 AM
I was feeling a little bored through the second sequel to lotr but i guess it was much more action packed compared to the first movie..though it gets a bit lengthy at times. would prolly go watch the third one when everyone have watched it so the theatre won't be so packed when i am in it.

Legolas looks nice in the movie but in real life i don't think he looks just as good with his stubble and short hair..i like arwen though she is rather pretty :) does any of u like her too? Haha but i guess almost everyone here will be swooning over orlando bloom during the movie itself..my friends totally adore him too. :wink2:

12-11-2003, 12:00 AM
hey has anyone noticed any errors or faults within the first two???!!!

i have!!! tho its a very small error.......

u know when the fellowship leave the woods of Lothloeirn.....frodo, sam and aragon are sitting in the same boat being paddled by aragon and sam is sitting behind frodo....

but later when they approach the Agornath.....u know those two huge statues holding out their palms......frodo is sitting behind sam...convinient for aragon to whisper the bit about 'longing to look upon the kings of old' to frodo...

hehahah ^^

so yeah it was quite funny when i saw it

had anyone noticed anything else???

vashdestampede
12-11-2003, 02:13 AM
i think i read somewhere that in the first one...just as sam says something about taking the furthest step from the shire to frodo

you can see a car driving in the background
i think they took it out in the dvd cos i was freeze framing and everything but i couldn't find it!

Phyxius
12-11-2003, 06:06 AM
a car?!? Wahahaha...
I saw the behind the scene/interview thingy on TV the other night... And there was a bit when Aragorn/Viggo was shooting his last sceen, and when it finished, this women said, "Right guys, that was Viggo's last shot!" and Viggo went and hug Peter Jackson and started crying... so emotional yet so sad... It's the last time he is gonna have anything related to LOTR....

evenstar_sc
12-12-2003, 06:31 AM
The good thing is the release dates for the movie are close together. Not one year after the movie is released...

There's loads of promotional events for LOTR- ROTK going on here. That's the great thing. The LOTR hype is back!
Some ppl even managed to get tix for the premier on the 16th!
I got tix for the premier on the 17th(wed)!
Wouldn't there be a big premier in New Zealand? With all the cast members?

I think the composer for the LOTR soundtracks is Howard Shore.

ker_ai_teresa
12-13-2003, 02:04 AM
wasn't the world premier (or whatever) a couple of weeks ago already? i remem the news about the actors in NZ walking a red carpet...wasn't that it? or was that just the NZ premier? or are there many premiers?

Phyxius
12-13-2003, 02:11 AM
kei_ai_teresa, yes the premier was in NZ on the 1st of Dec.... In wellington...
But that was only the premier for the actors and VIPs to see... The actual release date world wide is different... In NZ and most countries is the 18th.... Which is 5 days latr!!!

ker_ai_teresa
12-13-2003, 02:24 AM

cinsin
12-15-2003, 07:00 AM
Or they can just warn us that they're giving us spoilers with a big warning sign that says SPOILERS. But I have to admit spoilers are annoying, I hate it when people just spoil it for you like that without no warning what-so-ever. Like the time I was walking into a classroom and some chick just told the class that Sirius from HP dies. I hadn't even read the book. I was so tempted to walk up to her and use her HP book to hit her in the face with it.

Did I just contradict myself?
I don't think I was trying to be funny.
But it has been like half a year since HP5 was released, so I think most of the people would've found out who died anyway. I'm still holding a grudge against that girl.

does anyone have the ringtone of LOTR's songs......
give me!!!

just use the google search engine and search for "LOTR ringtones". is there such a ring tone anyway?

look, to make it easier, if you see the movie and get so excited that you can't help but wanna share it with everyone, just use the extra tiny font to hide the crucial parts of the movie so that it won't spoil it for anybody...

oh, whoever said the movie opens same time worldwide is right...
it's just diff cuz of the time zones of course..only one more day!!!!! =)
in our newspaper, it got 4 stars..(out of 4) sot ath's really good...

huh? :? different time zones? can the difference be by 10 days??? if the film is opening in one more day, as ppl are saying, but it's opening in australia on the 26th, then it can't be a worldwide same release date. :glug:

who cares? we'll all get to see it soon...

oh, all this talk about this last installment is driving me crazy!
the critics gave good reviews for this one.
um, i think the movie is about 3 hours and 20 mins. (if i remembered correctly).
i read or heard from somewhere that Liv Tyler's dad fell asleep while watching it... i hope he's just tired.

Phyxius
12-18-2003, 12:21 AM
No, it doesnt release at the same time world wide. To my knowledge, Taiwan had released ROTK about 2 or 3 days ago... New Zealand is releasing TODAY!!! OMG IT'S TODAY~ I JST REALISED!!! and Australia, like nupengyou said, release on Boxing Day... So it's not the same....

Man, Liv's dad is so rude... Lol, he sounds like those that drinks beer a lot and has a belly and farts... Sorry, i'm rude too... But how does he manage to have such a pretty daughter? *jealousy* Has anyone seen Liv's sister... I think she's in the industry too... But not quite famous as her sis....

I bought my LOTR book today, it's 3-in-1.... has about 1000 pgs... Will be crazy reading for the nxt few days... Shall i read ROTK first? So i can catch it b4 i go watch the movie?!? But i cant finish it in the nxt few days ><
