So this is a test thread for your exasperation, frustration, or anger at the baffling popularity of a certain popular drama in which many, many people squeal over, but you just can't get the appeal of! Come in this thread to vent, to rant, and to throw imaginary rocks at characters you hate or plotlines you despise. If you really have a lot to say about one particular drama or one particular actor/actress/character, you can start off a new thread in the forum as well.
-------------------------------------------------------------
My latest annoyance is the Korean drama Full House. I had such high expectations for this drama because...it's Rain and he's sexy, along with the fact that everyone and their mother professes their love for this show. But does anyone else see the glaring annoyances of EVERYTHING? I only watched the first episode and then I couldn't sit through it anymore because I wanted to throw something at the head of the main girl for being ridiculous and stupid.
Questions that ran through my head:
WHY would Rain's character wear such ass ugly clothing like that green and purple shirt when she went to find him in his room? Does he know that the fashion police are after him?
WHY do Korean girls have a tendency in these dramas to talk to themselves like a crazy person and proceed to bash their heads against any available surface but then NOBODY around them thinks it's in the least bit odd and no one starts to slowly move away from her because of her apparent insanity?
WHY do people think girls who act like complete morons are "cute" and "sweet"? She's not any of those things! She needs her hand held and to be taken care of like a baby! Somehow her friends were able to:
a) Trick her into going to China
b) SELL HER HOUSE without her knowledge
and instead of I don't know...SUING them, she proceeds to beat them with the flowers that they give her when they visit her again supposedly for more money.
And my absolute pet peeve is irritating people who talk to you on planes, she throws up on him! And takes his food! And is completely obnoxious! She needs a warning sign around her.
WHY do Koreans have such fascination with dramas about arranged/forced marriages that are a complete farce? (See: Goong, My Little Bride, etc etc)
Also, don't get me started on other idiotic girls like the one Ariel played in It Started With a Kiss. I'll bash that some other day.

I just thought I'd clarify something before we get fans of Rain and SHG in here crying bloody murder.
judes, am I right to assume that you're dissing the characters and not the individuals playing those characters? coz in one of your statements above, you referred to Rain himself rather than the character who needs advice on fashion.
just clarify so we don't get misunderstandings and arguments over nothing.
but actually, yeah I do agree that the wardrobe personel in charge of dressing him, could have done a better job.
*thinks strange white top YoungJae wore in his Shanghai hotel room...*

^ well yes the character rain plays, but also RAIN for putting up with ugliness!!!
i know it's meant for humor value, but he's just too pretty to wear clothes like that. :( it makes me sad.
oh yeah, are you referring to the one that has that weird strap out of nowhere that makes him look like he's wearing a cast?
ker_ai_teresa
08-18-2006, 08:18 AM
yes that one. ><;;
well...perhaps they don't get much of a say as to what they wear? :?
and isn't korean fashion like that of japan and is suppose to be streets ahead of the rest of world?
*ahem*
or backwards?
anywayz, back to the actual drama itself. I personally found it quite entertaining. although I have said in the Full House thread before, some of the scenes did get a tad bit repetitive after watching several episodes in one sitting.

haha.. i totally agree with you on this although i do quite like Full House (just for entertainment + Rain :brows: ) My main peeve is the way they portray the female lead. Especially Ariel's character in ISWAK!! can i go ahead and bash that now please?! :please:
Don't get me wrong, i really like this show. it's just that i totally cannot understand :? how Joe's character in ISWAK could ever have fallen in love with Ariel's character. She's dowdy, not smart and totally annoying!!! i guess that's why it's called drama...

I really like full house though. Yes.. i noe you are going to come running after me to kill me.. but seriously.. it's for the romance and comedy. LOL.
The serial I really hate for now is Tokyo Juliet. Though Ariel and Wu zun are very good looking people but the more I watch that show, the more i get irritated by the draggi-ness of the show... It seems never ending. and from youtube... loading one episode involves many parts.. but normally... i watch it really fast, but for tokyo juliet.. i really give up watching although all the parts are fully loaded..
It's stupid to see them kiss each other then quarrel and then kiss and then quarrel and the only thnig nice.. is the design of clothes!!

Actually I also really like Full House...and I have to agree that Rain/Young Jae wore a series of atrocious outifts...but they got less unpleasant as the series developed. And I'm probably reading to deeply into it...but it's almost as though his physical, outward appearance developed with his character. For me it kinda emphasised the change in his character. It made me more aware of how horrible Young Jae's character was to begin with...and gradually...he turned out to be a half decent guy, no? Perhaps if you gave it half a chance you'd have noticed it too. Besides, the first epsiode of most asian drama these days is merely an introduction to the characters.

But I liked Full House. :worry:
Not because of Rain, but because of Song Hye Kyo.
The worst drama I've seen so far is Le Robe De Mariage Des Cieux,
starring Cyndi Wang, Leon Williams and Ming Dao. It's so crappy and cheesy.
The love angle among the three lead characters is strange.
First of all, their 'love story' sucked and secondly, they don't have chemistry.
Cyndi's acting was so-so and Leon's good-looking face rarely showed his emotions.
The only thing I like about this drama is its French title.
In general, this Taiwanese drama is BOOORING and UNINTERESTING.
My close runner-up to the 'worst drama' title would go to IJUKSA (A Love To Kill) starring Rain.
It's currently airing on Philippine primetime TV and I find it really weird.
The plot is just ridiculous. I don't hate it because I don't like Rain. I think his performance in the drama is laudable. In other words, he 'delivered'.
The mediocre and unrealistic plot is to be blamed.
Rain seeks revenge for his brother's stupidity (he accidentally fell from a building
when he saw his ex-girlfriend from a public screen, while attempting to 'approach' her). Isn't that stupid and unbelievable? I thought only idiots do that.
So he was hospitalized for the most of the drama but I cannot sympathise with his character mainly because he wouldn't have faced that near-death incident if he wasn't a lunatic. Actually, I think all of the characters in this drama are LUNATICS!!!
Rain's character was a trying to be profound and mysterious man with a steel heart. He sought revenge in his bro's ex-girlfriend by making her fall for him and then hurt her afterwards. I can't vividly describe the main characters and their perplexities because they're playing complex and trying to / pretending to be (?) sophisticated.
Apparently, the director and the writers want complex lead characters
but they failed to define them and execute their traits smoothly. There are a lot of loopholes and boo-boos in the plot. It'll make you think twice whether you'll take it as it is (as a drama) or go with the flow of the exaggerated story I thought only existed in sci-fi movies and suspense thrillers.
If there are two words I can say about A Love To Kill, it's a DUMB DRAMA.
No wonder it's dubbed as a 'teenager in the ratings' because it only gets 10-19% of the total audience share for its time slot despite all the hype before it was aired. (The Philippine TV network that airs it even showed a preview and a Rain special prior to the drama's broadcast.) It's previous main competitor was the Chinese epic drama Retun of the Condor Heroes, and now it's pitted against Love Story in Harvard, which is an even better drama. One can only wonder when the TV station is going to axe A Love To Kill. And oh, did I say it was a FLOP?

One drama I really hated was the Korean drama 'Winter Sonata' with Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo. The beginning when the two leads were in high school were quite cute and sweet, but it dragged on and on and on after they grew up. The drama was so boring even the supposed 'twist' with the whole carcrash thing didn't make me excited or like the drama.
I liked the first instalment of the Endless Love series (Autumn in my Heart), but I really disliked this one. This drama tried to be romantic and touching, but for me, only ended up being boring and tedious.

the drama i hate the most is stairway to heaven by kwan sang woo and choi ji woo...
the whole drama is just sooooooo.... unpleasant...
the plot is kinda stupid...
all they do is cry and cry n cry n cry...
for some unknown reason... i kinda hate kwan sang woo...
and the tv channel here keep on repeating the drama...
its so annoying...
no wonder they girl became blind... with that much of crying its amazing her eyes didnt falls out of the socket....

Yeah actually I didn't really like Autumn Story...but maybe it was because it was dubbed into Cantonese and the translations weren't too accurate...I mean with the culture differences...I never got the Korean version...which is a shame coz the dubbing made the series seem so unnatural and consequently pretty unbearable...especially when it took like 10 mins just to get a full sentence out...

Alright.
When anyone see this, I'm dead meat.
I dont like "Da Chang Jin" the Korean drama, seriously. It pissed me off to see Sungapore Channel U playing it for the third time! & I dont even see that there is any moral behind this long long long story.
I dont like "Da Chang Jin", period.
It irritates me even more to have everyone around me watching it, yes, EVERYONE! sigh. Sometimes I just feel so different from all my friends..

I assume people here would be mature enough not to take your opinion to heart and start attacking you personally. ^^
I actually didn't really like this drama much either. I don't hate it, but just found it too long-winded, and frankly, boring. :bigyawn: it was a really hyped up drama though, so I guess that's why a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon. *shrugs*
i honestly think the entire jcnet would throw buckets and baskets of raw tomoatoes at me if i said this alot so i'll only say it once.

i dont know. there WERE the exciting and cute moments, but in general it was so.. BORING! AND BLAND!
and kim jung hoons character sucked duck's tail in the drama. i was more of a fan of his before i watched goong. and now i keep thinking shin (what is his name anyway?) is so much better even though i know he's not! and that kim jung hoon will always have a special place in my heart no matter how much of a pansy he was in goong.

How can I forget to hate Goong when it made me regret downloading it?
It's the third on my list of the worst Asian dramas I've ever seen.
I'm sure there are a number of people here who do not like that drama
but are afraid to bash it because it has established a massive fan base here in JCNET.

I agree with .huifen. and ker_ai_teresa on Dae Jang Geum. My best friend was absolutely obsessed with this drama and she made me watch it. I definitely don't hate it because I do like the moral of the story, but I found it waaaayyyyy to long. It took Ji Jin Hee 40 flippin episodes to finally tell her he loves her for heaven's sakes! The plot moved too slowly and there were way too many scenes of her just sitting there thinking or cooking or whatever else she does. They could have easily made it 40 or even 35 episodes if they had cut it right. I mainly watched it to see what all the hype in Hong Kong was about and I wasn't that impressed.
I also second (third?) Viv and jaychou_21 on Goong. When I first started it was really cute and I was really looking forward to its development, but then the plot started to repeat itself over and over and over and over again. How many times did she leave Shin to hang out with Yul and then come back to have Shin yell at her for it? I got to episode 21 and got so fed up that I just read the subtitle files.

Well, for Taiwanese drama, I don't like Meteor Garden which was starred by all four members from F4. I find the whole drama's plot was silly and F4's acting skills are so boring. They acted very stiff and almost no expressions on the face at all. So yeah, that's the worst Taiwanese drama I've ever seen.
Now, for Korean dramas, I definitely don't like Dae Jang Geum. It's another super slow drama. Of course it's interesting to see the recipe they made but the plot is rather boring too. From a cook to a doctor? How is that possible ><
As for Goong, the lastest korean drama craze having around here. I admit I was really hooked to the drama and actually love it. But come to think of it, certain parts it was rather slow and long-winded. But because of all the cute loving scenes between Shinnie, Yullie and YEH made the whole boring thing to something funnier.
The next Korean drama on the list would be Stairways To Heaven. The most stupidest drama I've ever seen. It was shown on tv beginning of this year. And all I see is seeing the main actor walking here and there with many bodyguards behind him. And see the actress crying here and there. This whole drama was all about crying and crying. Nothing about crying.

I AGREE! I started it over a month ago and I still haven't finished it because it is SO NOT entertaining! I've passed the halfway mark though, so I'm going to finish it one day. I didn't read your last paragraph in case of spoilers lol
The only thing I like about the drama is Yul. Chae Gyung is annoying.. and her friends too! And I don't think she has ANY chemistry with EITHER of the guys!
I've gotta disagree with judes about Full House though. I loved it to itty bitty pieces and it's the best series I've ever seen (along with the Jap drama 1 Litre of Tears).
I had really high expectations as well but it didn't let me down AT ALL. I was actually a bit apprehensive about Bi and Song Hyegyo as a couple because to me, they didn't seem to match..... Song Hyegyo is a woman to me, and Bi is at that "not a boy, not yet a man" kind of stage. I don't know, maybe because he has masses of adoring teenage fangirls? Anyway, I loved their cute and hilarious interactions.. and all the little things they did.. like how
- Bi went to "Amazing Land" secretly (whatever the name was) cuz she said she was hanging out there for her bday
- Bi lost his ring and she drew it on for him, and when he washed his hands he washed around it.. aww
- Bi hid in her closet and held on for dear life when she was trying to open it :D
etc etc.. it was silly and unrealistic but their antics made up for it. Haha.

^ which is why i say everybody else in the entire world loves full house except for me. it's bearable, i'm still watching it, and some parts are cute, but everything every girl does on that movie frustrates me. there's this really annoying thing that the main actress does with her mouth and with her face like this really overdramatic and irritating "sigh" when something does something she doesn't like. and she doesn't seem to have an actual job besides writing ridiculous internet novels and lazing around her house doing nothing all day. then whoa she actually has to DO WORK, but it's not like rain makes her work herself to the bone, she can get any day off she wants, and then she gets a house out of the deal. boohoo, your life is so hard.
so my opinion of it has moved to "i hate it" to "its ok". now my hatred is directed at the attention needy girl who is throwing herself at rain. his fashion sense has gotten a lot better. but does the original girl ever wear anything other than heels? it makes me wonder how she manages not to screw up her feet!
I lost patience for Goong because of the crappy quality on YouTube. So I can't really say anything about Goong except it seems really cliche yet from what I say of it, it seems ok.
my grandpa absolutely adores da chang jin and has watched the whole drama front to back for three times now because it's played all the time. but it does appear reeeeally long and draggy.

Oh my god same here! There was this period when everyone was talking about that super boring drama. And one of the TV stations actually had an 8-hour marathon for it every week. My parents would stick to the TV every Saturday and Sunday. I weren't even allowed to change the channel, not even during commercials.
Actually, I don't like Korean dramas. :tomato:
I still remember when Winter Sonata and Autumn Tale had suddenly became so popular here that everybody was practically talking about it 24/7. Even my sisters cried while watching it. I was pretty obsessed with these two dramas but I didn't really go gagaga over it. I couldn't even remember the characters' names. But after these two dramas, it's the end for me. I think I had enough of all these dramas on TV.
I hate alot of korean dramas because of the female lead. gosh, why are they all either stupid, bullies, or harsh over-dramatic who cry alot?! And I hate when they all centre their face to their lips and then stick everything out into an ugly pout. -_-; *falls*

Some dramas I cant stand:
The Rose - I dun understand why many people like this drama so much and even said its better than Meteor Garden. For me, this drama's plain boring!! The stories revolve around the big house with siblings from different fathers with Ella as the main character. I watched until I think number 14 and decided not to continue watching it. Sorry for the Rose's fans but I juz cant stand that serial!
Love Contract - if not for the handsome He Jun Xiang, I dunno what I watched it for. I dont like Ariel's character. In fact, I find Ariel's characters are always annoying in most of her serials. One more thing, I notice she seems to have this loud breathing sound whenever she plays serials. Dunno if its the script or she's originally like that but I find that irritating! I wouldnt say I hate Ariel though...she seems nice in real person when I watched her interview :)

right now I think the series Tokyo Juliet is sort of dumb...but I haven't been caught up yet.....still the story line is ok...but the acting...>< it makes me want to cry sometimes and the couple in the series is drawn out right in the beginning...like they become a couple and there is no other people that they could possibly go with...and I didn't like that....
One of the most stupidest and fully of crap storyline must be the series of Mike He and Ariel Lin.
Hell! That's that title again? The ending part was like what the f#$%?!?

haha.. okay i like full house (because its the first ever kdrama that i watched and there are funny moments) but i agree with the clothes of rain's character... theyre... um.... something a normal guy wouldnt wear?
dae jang geum (jewel in the palace in english i think) would be my hatest drama.... never watched it, i dont know what's so nice about it, it's soooooo long, and my parents are always ALWAYS watching that series over and over again. i dont even know whats so interesting about it  and the old palace theme doesnt help either... and there isnt a single character thats pleasing to the eye (ie goodlooking.. haha.. i think this is a BIG factor in dramas)
i like goong... though the last few episodes were like :? the story lost its excitement...
love contract.... its the only drama of mike he that i liked.. hahaha... he's so handsome there lol
iswak was alright... i was really into it but then the story went..plop... it disappeared.. and i hate ariel's character there... stupid and crybaby psshh
now i think i hate tokyo juliet? not really hate but i wouldnt watch it... i was only 9 minutes into the first episode and i find it boring already
i actually hate all dramas where the characters just die and i hate it when they make the story depressing... maybe thats why its called a drama... haha.. but yeah, i hate those kinds.. i'd rather watch a romantic comedy one...

I find that korean series boring coz the story is always revolving around the same subjects, most likely romance.
Most of the time, there are 2 guys and 2 guys, one pair is fighting for the affection of the other loving pair.
The ending is predictable, with somebody's dying and main actresses weeping throughout the whole show, it makes me feel depressed.
Plus, the story is moving sooo slow.
Full House is not bad, some parts are funny, but that's it. The storyline needs more improvement.

OMG! All I have to say is THANK GOD! im not the only one that hated Full House! That drama was just ridiculous and ANNoying! It was soo friggin repetitivee.. yeah it was laughs and cutes at first but UGH! It was getting outta haNd towards the end... and Rain... could he look any Uglier!
And yesh.. honest to say, all the friggin korean dramas I've seen are alll about LOVE.. no, I mean JUST ABOUT LOVE! It's like they dont have a life or something! Everything revolves around Love love Love! And all they do is Cry about it! The characters would say a word or 2 and next thing you know they're crying throughout the whole entire drama!
And taiwanese dramas are jus plain naive bullcrap... I just couldnt stand watching "prince turned into frog" .. it was cheesey it was low-budgeted.. i jusst couldnt bear with it..
ANd, I hated "under the canopy of love" i felt as if they were trying to pull a damn krn drama.

i totally hate " a love to kill for " - rain's acting n the storyline - over dramatic. rain's character - his reason for existence ( protecting that scarred girl , who is abnoxious most of the time ) n , his revenge for his stupid brother who fell off his roof top!!!! hahaha. full house was a silly romance but bearable - rain was cute but the laughs are repetive after a while n of course that silly girl who forgives her friends who sold her house while she was away - she deserves to be bullied by everyone since her character is too too stupid.
i m not anti rain n i know my life is in danger for saying this - notice that rain's slow songs are very similar melody n singing style. also - for his coming concert , i think rain's company is really trying to wring as much money as possible from his fans . even with the supposed big budget spending on his concert - the ticket price is way over the top to watch a passable singer who's dancing is not yet michael jackson n who's looks is acceptable . maybe is skill in bursting his shirt buttons is incomparable. hahaha. actually i like him as a person when i see him on tv being interviewed - nice personality - but his company is sucking his fans dry - worse than what jerry yan's company did .
i love many k dramas - esp autumn's tale . my girl , my nineteen yrs old sis-in -law , memories of bali etc.

phoebe - lol i'm thinking along the same line as you. don't worry, our lives are in danger together! i am a Rain fan (not a hugely huge insane fan but i like his songs ^^)
"A Love To Kill" wasted 16 hours of my life. i initially thought it was a good drama but all the reviews etc but the storyline was non-existent and mainly rubbish. it is damn obvious that the main purpose of the drama is to plug Rain as much as possible. judging from the close-up of him, his eyes, his lips. (i particularly hate the close-up scenes of his fingers on his lips) i felt like i was going to die of Rain overdose. urgh too much is too much! and in the end *BOTH OF THEM DIED* omg what a waste of my brain cells!
and yeah his company is trying to milk as much money from fans through CRAZYLY priced concert tickets! yes, the staging crew does madonna's world tour but they can't just charge fans so much.
other than "A Love To Kill", i totally hate "Devil Beside You". wasted my bandwith downloading the torrent. what a load of crap. i wanted to smack Rainie Yang and Mike He so hard 10 mins into the drama. i don't know what's the big fuss about Mike He. he can't even pronounce the words properly without sounding like his nose if blocked. i also hate when he angles his head and peer through his overgrown fringe. wth after watching the first episode, i deleted all 16 of them because i needed my brain cells and IQ for other more useful things.
i've tried my best to keep far away from Taiwanese dramas because they kill brain cells and lowers one's IQ. the only reason why i'm watching "Smiling Pasta" at the moment of because of Nicholas Teo (Zhang Dong Liang) but i'm at my limit now. it surprises me how taiwanese dramas can make it so big in taiwan. what a bunch of bullcrap. seriously
aaahh i feel so much better :D

aahh.. i totally agree w/ ch3rri3!! i didnt like love contract. mike was the only reason to watch. then ending was just like, what the...!? and random ppl kept dying.
A Love to Kill was pretty bad also. i only liked it at first cuz that kiss w/ rain and the lead was pretty hot. but after a while i just didn't care how it would end.
ok, you know what drama i couldn't stand? The Outsiders or Dou Yu. THat thing was pure crap. i just wanted to bash dylan's oddly small head in. and that girl was super annoying as well.

fajitapita really? I actually quite liked The Outsiders...it was a lot better written than the usual taiwanese dramas
I agree with ice_sylth...I don't understand the point of Taiwanese dramas. Every one of them are 'idol dramas' where nobody can act and really you're watching some up-and-comer's company plugging them for 16 episodes. Which reminds me. Marmalade Boy. Now THAT was pretty bad.
ice_sylph
10-22-2006, 10:07 AM
fajitapita - really? i have a friend who really likes Dou Yu and thinks its good. i dunno though, have never heard or seen any episodes of that drama until my friend mentioned it. isn't there a Part 2 or something? i remember seeing the VCD box in the local VCD shop.
happifruit - gosh Marmalade Boy! that brings back really bad memories! it had like 30 episodes, right? i watched the first 2 and gave up. Ken Zhu needed a haircut and he should have cut back on the hair gel. another similiar dumb drama would be Peach Girl. did you watch that as well? urgh i totally cringe at the thought of my F4 phase. looking back, i can't believe i actually sat through the whole Peach Girl. *sighs* man, was i dumb
i found Meteor Garden II a pain as well. the only reason why i watched it was because i WAS into F4 *cringing* and wanted to watch the ending. DaoMingShi lost his memory at the first episode and it returned at what, the 30th (there are 31 eps altogether) episode??!!
am loving this part of the thread!! haha i can blast whatever/whoever i want and it is alright. hehe gives me a nice venting ground

I am watching "Magicians of Love" and I think it's complete crap. It's long, draggy with mediocre looking actors/actresses who can't really act.
Damn... then only reason why I am still stuck on it is just that I want to complete the story. I don't feel good when I don't get a show completed.
It has a small saving grace. The Lame jokes. They do keep me entertained in a weird twised way.

The show that really sucks in my book is,"Sex In The City." I think that that show is not only shallow, but it gives women a bad name. I mean its about a bunch of desprate women who are willing to prance up and down the streets of New York, looking for a man to sleep with!! Not only that but the dialog stinks, on one episode, a man tried to rob one of the women(I don't know the idiots name) And he said,"give me your bag." And like an idiot she said,"Its not a bag, its a baget." Is that supposed to be funny?! I don't think so.
Another show that I really can't stand is,"Desperate Housewives." This is the most senseless show that I have ever seen. Again it dose not show women in a favorable light. Its about a bunch of desperate women who live in big houses, have nothing to complain about. But yet and still they lead such poinless lives. And they are willing to sleep with anybody. This show is truly disfunctional, and totally shallow. It behooves me that the ratings are so high. And to make it worse, they made a video game of the stupid show. As if wasting money on the show wasn't enough.
Gilmore Girls is another show that reall sucks in my book. I really dislike the mother. When a mother is acting more childish then the daughter, something is truly wrong. This is another shallow show with absolutely no plot. These shows really get under my skin.

Devil Beside Me.
I've got a good reason to hate that drama.
RAINIE YANG
OMG I just COULDN'T stand her acting - wait I wouldn't call that acting. She pretends to be "cute" and her face looks HORRID, Her expressions are like  or :brows: . And all those sex scenes between her and Mike He. Get away from him!!!
The plot was OK but Rainie Yang totally destroyed the drama for me.

the drama i hate the most is stairway to heaven by kwan sang woo and choi ji woo...
the whole drama is just sooooooo.... unpleasant...
the plot is kinda stupid...
all they do is cry and cry n cry n cry...
for some unknown reason... i kinda hate kwan sang woo...
and the tv channel here keep on repeating the drama...
its so annoying...
no wonder they girl became blind... with that much of crying its amazing her eyes didnt falls out of the socket....
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone that hates Stairway to Heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:excited:
(dance with joy) Pardon me, I'm just so happy.
I have two rules when watching Korean drama. Only watch the first 3 and the last 3 episodes. But if it's good, its OK to watch the rest. I came into this rule after the wonder that is Stairway to Heaven.
In the first episode I watch, the girl cried, then next episode, she cried, and next, she cried again. So I stopped. There is so much that I can take.
Then I only watched in bits.
That bit I watched in my friend's room: she cried
That bit I watched while going downstairs for a drink: she cried. oh wait, he cried.
That last episode at the beach: he cried, she waited, she cried, she scream, she cried, he cried, owh, the 3rd person cried too.
The single thing I remember most about the drama is that, yes, you guess it, they cried. I remember one evening when i couldn't take it anymore. 'Could they pllllleeeeasssssee stop crying'
And you know, when my mom (an avid follower) told me that the girl is blind, i thought, 'its about time'. LOL. And my friend manage to watch this in one night. :glug: I'm amazed.
Oh... I'm babbling here.
Oh yeah, A Love To Kill is boring. But I love the camera work, and the direction. You don't see that on normal Korean drama. :D It's just the plot that is boring.
I like Full House, but i hate:
Devil Beside You - both Mike He and Rainie Yang annoyed me to no end (esp. the latter). Moreover, the plot was ridculously trite and the acting was really bad.
Metoer Garden - at first i loved this drama, but now i really hate this drama mainly because of the bad acting from F4 and Barbie Hsu.
Magicians of Love - got up to episode 5 and just couldn't be bothered watching it anymore. Again, it had bad acting and the plot wasn't worth knowing about.
It Started with a Kiss - everytime i see Ariel i just want to punch her because of the annoying character she played in ISWAK. By the end of it i seriously wish Ji Zhu (i think that's his name) had dumped her.
A Love to Kill - like others had said, it's just boring with a capital B.
Goong - omg, one of the most overrated dramas. I don't see why YEH gets so much praise when her acting was pretty bad, same as JJH.

gawd, finally!!!!!!!!! i enjoyed it at first, but, start to hate it as the story goes. how stupid is rainie. i used to think that she's cute, but, i just don't have a clue why she would go after the devil instead of the cutie kingone character. some thing is seriously wrong there. and the sex scene. was it necessary? it was such a waste of time....

I abolutely hate Devil Beside You, its the most crappiest show I've ever attempted to see, and im so glad I didnt finish it, what a waste of time. Rainie's acting is absurd, and those stupid ugly looking faces is completely uneccessary. and whats up with the storyline? its completely not fresh and boring
Full House too, I find the plot totally useless, and I find Bi annoying too. All they ever did throughout the series is eat, drink water from the fridge, fight, run away from home, come back again.. and the cycle goes again.. gawdness.. I dont know why so many people think so highly of it.
Meteor Garden was bad too, especially when the Jap HYD is out, MG just became really shucky in my eyes. F4 and Barbie cant even act.. the series is sooooo dragged..
one of the most boring korean dramas i ever watched is SUMMER SCENT. i cant stand the plot. loving a girl with yr ex-girlfren's heart inside her is NOT romantic and so ridiculous!!!! but the OST is much nicer.
I love full hse altho its repetitive. Goong has boring scenes but i like to see new faces instead of the usual actors/actresses.=)

I simply hate ALL taiwan and korean dramas.
Taiwanese just simply cannot act. If u watch tvb shows u will noe wat is acting.
Korean dramas storylines r pretty much the same and i find almost all actors have the uncle look.
I also hate most some singapore drama. Most of the dramas just cannot make it.

TWnese dramas are great---except for It Started With A Kiss.
I JUST FEEL LIKE PULLING OUT MY FRIGGING HAIR WHEN I HEAR ARIEL WHINE!!!!!!!
Meteor Garden..oh god...Da S couldn't act there (until Corner With Love) and Jerry Yan seriously SUCKS at acting too.
Meteor Garden - I don't like this drama, even hate it. How did F4 act such a silly performance like that? They are too strained, and the plot isn't the same with original manga.
Full house - This drama is good for entertaining. It's really funny... hahaha. But Rain's customs is too bad and ugly. Hyo Kyo's style made a trend towards fashion.
Dae Jang Geum - I like this drama. Dishes in that drama is really, really delicious. She must have been a talented cook. OMG, why can they cook delicious dishes like that? ... I wanna taste a bit....
My name's Kim Sam Soon - a drama about love older woman. This subject is good and new with Asian.

For me, i think i prefer japanese and hk dramas as compared to korean and taiwan though there are some exceptions.
The only korean show which i like is Goong though it seems like there are some people in here who dislike it. but i believe everyone have their own opinion on shows.
I dislike Full House too cause of rain. Not too sure why but i just dislike him and i think he gets popular for no reason. Most of the korean dramas are also lovey dovey type and i hate the fact that it always make people cry and someone will always be dead. irritating stories!!
Taiwan shows are mainly the lovey dovey type so just watch it for the sake of watching when i'm bored.
But i think Japanese dramas are good. Good plot and those which are adapted from manga and there are taiwan version are way better. For example Hana Yori Dango VS Meteor Garden, Jap Hana Kimi VS Taiwan's Hua Yang.
Just this two examples of japanese manga show, Japanese ones have already proven they are way better than the taiwan version. No matter in filming skills, cast or even acting.
Hongkong TVB dramas no doubt is really good. Acting wise they are really good and without fail, they always produce real good stories.

I seriously dislike Tawin drama. They actress and actor are just not themselves. They don't really know how to act properly.. Sometimes, i just feel like slapping them.
Can't really stand korean drama. The only one i like was autumm of my heart. My mum is really crazy about korean drama. She'll cry as if one million piece of tissue is not enough for her. Just can't stand it. It's all about crying and crying.. No wonder sg have limited water supply.
My favourite dramas are from Hongkong! Esp those tvb ones. Their plots are so unpredictable but not as riduculous as those koreans drama. Japs are not bad too. Watched some, one of them was Engine. Was really touched.

smiling pasta- crappiest (but i'm thinking another word that starts with a "s") drama i laid my eyes on
why?
cyndi wang's crappy acting like she's trying to be cute all the time. and how she keeps tripping and falling down on every other episode. ( i don't know about the end cause I didn't bother to finish it)
it really bothers me how shes trying to be cute.. like talking like a baby/4 year old kid, putting her feet inward and twirling her hair when she talks..

I don't watch a lot of dramas, but one i disliked greatly is SMILING PASTA! DAMN! Cyndi Wang tries to act cute again. But again, it's not her fault.. It's her company. But i'm getting really sick of her.

another drama I hated and didn't bother finishing was My Name is Kim Sam Soon. I just didnt get it; all the girls at school said they can relate to her in every way. When I watched it I felt really embaressed for her. And I bought the drama too because everyone made it sound so good ><! What a waste of money. I'd say the only good thing was the pretty looking cake on the cover and the nice box.

smiling pasta. one: i hate cyndi wang and her stupid face (her face is too long and her eyes are..lopsided). i want to strangle her and to tell her to stop ACTING CUTE. two: i love nicholas' voice ONLY when he's singing. Otherwise, the way he talks is too gay for me.

You said it girls. Smiling Pasta is ANNOYING. ARGH even the DVD cover is so corny I can't stand it. The only thing I like about the drama are the theme songs XD. This one is yet again another 'pop idol' taiwanese drama. Gah all the actors CANNOT act! The way they speak in the drama frustrates me to pieces. The story line is utterly predicting. Actually I think I watched the first few episodes on youtube and couldn't stand the acting anymore. I hate it how everyone says the drama is good.
The same goes for Hana Kimi. Hate the acting. Every scene is so fake and corny. The storyline CANNOT be more predicting. I only watched the first episode of that and just COULD NOT take it anymore. This drama is yet again HIGHLY overrated.

and the sex scene. was it necessary? it was such a waste of time....
OMG the sex scene in DBY. finally someone mentions it... no it was definitely not necessary, like what the hell. did we, the audience, have to watch rainie getting it on with mike he on the bed?
and another drama i hate. the drive of life. i was thinking before it started that it was going to be real good, as good as heart of greed. turns out that the drama is soooo overrated, i only watch 15 minutes of it and then i was yawning. and tvb was going "this is the best drama of the year since we co-operated with others and its got 60 episodes". i was seriously cheering last night when it ended.
oh yeah and the drama "why why love". why, why make this drama??? its horrible. and rainies facial expressions don't make my day.
also. romantic princess. i watched half an hour and then i was like "why the hell am i wasting my time watching this rubbish?" seriously, i reckon "bump off lover" was the best angela drama.
and x family... yeah there's eye candy. but the whole plot. i was too kind to even watch 2 episodes of it.
i also agree that hana kimi was too overrated now that i watch it seriously (that means, not watching it for handsome guys like wu zun and jiro and danson) for the second time. some scenes, such as the running scene in the first episode, were too exaggerated. the japanese hana kimi made it easier to believe in.

smiling pasta is on the top of my list.. cyndi's character is a total embaressment in the drama.. but i guess she fits the role cause i would actually believe she would act this way in real life.. so fakeeeee
ha sweet_neko, i didnt even give it 10 minutes--a total waste of my bandwidth downloading it + time. i only considered it cause jiro is so hot 8D although this character is more serious, i prefer him playing comedic parts.. and ehh x-family is too long :X
hana-kimi had a strong beginning and it dragged on and on and on and i didnt even finish the ending.. well i skimmed through it and thought it was sad letting jiro think that hes gay for the rest of his life :/
i think taiwanese dramas do tend to start with a strong beginning and dwindle to a weak end. for most taiwanese dramas, i dont even get to finish the ending
i think the taiwanese dramas i stuck to beginning and end were those that wernt spawned off from japanese mangas, however, this is not neccessarily true (i.e.: wei xiao pasta)

Although overall I liked the drama FULL HOUSE, Rain (Young-Jae) wore the gayest clothes. What was up with all the neckerchiefs, and the weird shirts? YUCK!! What a fashion disaster!! And I still thought she(Ji Eun) would have been better off with the other guy!! Much better looking than Rain.
I really hated Taiwan's version of Hana Kimi. Ella was not appealing in this one at all (although I loved her in the ROSE). Wuzun also didn't do much for me in this drama. It was boring!! The ending really sucked. It was like the directors had totally planned on a 2nd season, and then something went wrong. The story didn't really end, so why bother watching it???
I also hated Love Contract. I was okay with the story until they started killing off people, and then what the "&^%$&" was with the ending? It totally sucked rotten eggs! Mike He is always adorable, but Ariel bugged me in this one, too! This is one I wish I had given a miss.
Tokyo Juliet was also really overrated. Boring stupid plot, and again Ariel's character was not likeable even. And Wuzun really should NEVER dress like a girl. He looks too much like a girl, and when dressed like one he comes across really WRONG!

the taiwanese Hana Kimi = PHAIL with a capital P.
oh wait, make it an EPIC PHAIL.
10 minutes into the first episode and i already feel like smacking ella's face. what's with the stupid expressions on her face?! as with all the other taiwanese dramas, it is basically a load of crap. for those who are contemplating about watching it or not, DON'T! if you value your brain cells. the Japanese version is so much better.

Yus I wasn't the only one!
I had a problem with this one, too. I don't understand why HK was so big on it. It's very stereotypical, with some very, very flat characters and dragged-out storylines. I guess they were trying to make something like War and Beauty (which was a masterpiece, by the way) but I didn't feel ANYTHING for characters. Okay Bosco is hot in glasses and Linda and Raymond are pure fluff, but the rest was so mediocre to me. I couldn't even bring myself to root for the 'good' side.
The unrelated sequel is actually a bit better. Which is rare for TVB.

I really couldn't stand "MISS NO GOOD"...I really thought it was NO GOOD!!
I think the big problem for me was Rainie's character (and voice) was way too annoying and stupid. Strange...I loved Rainie in MG, DBY and WWL. But I just could barely stand watching her in this way. If she talked to the blow dryer one more time I thought I would upchuck!!
Wei Bo actually did a really good job acting in this one. I was surprised he was as good as he was. But there was clearly no chemistry between the two leads...the outtakes proved that!! I actually enjoyed watching the NG's more than the drama.
Not sure why so many people loved this one. I would give it about a 2 out of 10.

I have to say "Hana Kimi." That show is super annoying. I hate Fahrenheit with a passion. The main girl I can't stand. seriously, what's w/ all the stupid face expressions? She's bad at acting. I don't like that one guy from Fahrenheit in there, the guy who thinks he's gay or something. he looks like a monkey. The show is pointless. My sister just bought all the shows. I think it was a total waste of her money.

Warning: I'm into corny stuff because that's what I see most of the time. You are entitled to your own opinion.
Although I don't hate this drama, it ticks me off how the characters are displayed. The drama that kind of annoys me is Devil beside you. The storyline isn't too bad. It's funny and romantic in a kiddish sorta way, but the actors act too...Hm...maybe it's just that they looked like they were acting. Maybe they were trying too hard which made it funnier. Hm...I still like the plot, but the acting was just...annoying.
Also, Meteor Garden the Second season got me so mad. It's not parallel with the book, which I guess is okay, but the book made more sense. They changed the plot a little in the second season, but the change wasn't parallel to one of the character's personality. Otherwise, I like Meteor Garden although a lot of it seems like unnecessary material.
I don't like the actors' acting in Frog Prince, but I liked the storyline...well sorta. It was very similar to The Magicians of Love. BTW I think they share some of the same characters. What really annoyed me in this drama was the classical "amnesia". Jeez! There's still many new things to explore.

I'll probably be killed, but fated to love you was great at the start, cute storyline and 'fresh' but after a couple of episodes it just dragged and dragged. It got really overrated with the whole story, its like get moving!!!!!! I admit i was in love with it but come on it was b-class acting esp qiao en and ethan.
I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY IT WAS SO POPULAR IN TAIWAN AND OBSESSED BY EVERY ASIAN I TALK TO.:worry:

I hate Fahrenheit with a passion.
I dont think that Fahrenheit is horrible persay, but YES theyre early dramas SUCK. I think everyones improved a lot now EXCEPT for jiro. Im sry, I mean hes okay at singing(although not as good as the others) but I tried to watch momo love and I honestly could NOT finish it. pi li mit was actually kinda interesting, wuchun was absolutely amazing in butterfly lovers and calvin has yet to play a leading role, but jiros acting just pisses me off.
ISWAK and TKA. dont even get me started. I watched it cuz I was bored and stupid. There were like 3 parts that could have made up the entire drama. I forced myself to watch it cuz I kept thinking that it would get better, but it never really did.....and TKA....after i finished ISWAK, I was really disappointed so i didnt watch TKA. When I actually started watching it, it was that same depressing fact that the female lead is a total idiot and the miracle how the male lead doesnt strangle her. I heard that its a lot better....but I cant see how with such bad characters.
