Alright guys! This is a generic thread for hating certain artistes. The purpose of this thread is to 'try out' the hatred for different artistes. If there is enough activity for a certain artiste, there will be a new topic created for them in the Anti-X forum.
It will be a monthly rotation so currently the spotlight is on 5566.

Personally, I think they are the most ridiculous boy band to ever exist in the Chinese Music Industry. They have absolutely no looks, no height (except Wang Shao Wei) and they can't sing!
What infuriates me most is when they obviously copied SMAP and they can arrogantly say that it helps SMAP to be more popular in Taiwan! How can someone copy others & still be so proud of it????

I didn't know that they said that. I just knew that Tony likes SMAP because in one of the magazines I bought (of course it had jay in it), he was full showing off about his SMAP collection. And he did weird poses like - pretending he was going to run, trying to catch a ball (there was no ball), standing with his legs apart while bending his back (you know the granny pick up? haha) etc etc.

I think they're a disgrace to Asian music. They can't sing, dance and like laruku said, they don't even have the face. They're really ugly ( esp. Tony, I hate his long hair and he flips it back like a girl ughh).

I'm not sure how they are so popular throughout asia. They haven't came up with any songs that impressed me, or any dramas which impressed me too.

I've seen one of this.. Taiwanese variety show or something called "Shao nien te fu dui" which they hosted. They looked like total idots there, because they laugh at their own jokes which aren't even funny.

I hate 5566. Trying to be cool while they're not. Thinking everyone loves them when they don't. :crazy:

After exploring more areas of music since a few years ago, I've come to the conclusion that they are just wanting to be popular, not really dwelling into their music. I agree with -vIt-. They don't even have albums or dramas that impress me.

5566, other than the BIGGEST copycat around around, don't really deserve any of the titles they bestow upon themselves. Yeah, all the titles were their own boast, I don't see anyone else calling them that, until they started calling themselves "asian best this" "Taiwan best that"... blah. :bigyuck:

i really hope we have one for her, i have heaps of things to say about her!

Anyway, I really can't stand them, and i thought they'd disappear already because i haven't heard anything about them recently. From this thread, i learnt many new things. They call them self "Heavenly band/ Asia's top whatever" and they've copide many artists. I'm really glad there's a thread for this. We learn new things everyday!

Only 2 albums? [there's another thing i don't know haha, do i need to know about these people?] But seriously, as if they can sell another album. I think their number of fans are left to 0.0000000001% of the original amount. So i understand spax, many people do regret that they used to like 5566 before. Some are so embarassed they won't even say it. [like me] I used to like 5566 and F4 before, but i really didn't know what i was looking at. Maybe because everyone used to like them, but now, everyone hates them.

haha, that is true. I should've written that instead. But they were idiots in the show, seriously. I can't think of any other artist who can act like that in front of the camera. Sometimes they act cool, sometimes they try to be funny. But fails both miserably.

I never could understand why so many ppl queued up for their autograph sessions and all way back during their first and 2nd album.
i saw/heard them live ( if you could call lip synching live) once back in 2003 i think (for the SARS concert in Sentosa Island, Singapore. That was their 'peak' i guess.
Nothing special bout their performance that day except that Renfu tore his pants while dancing! :-)

5566 is undoubtedly one of the most annoying boy groups to ever surface on the face of the planet.
And they came up with probably the worst name for a boyband since the dawn of time.
When they dared to explain the 'logic' behind their group name, it just sucked. Simple numbers yet they can't get the facts right. Seriously, can those guys count?

I particularly hate the shortest member, who also happens to have the biggest ego (sorry, I don't know their names and I have no plans of familiarizing them) and the guy with flaring Jolin-alike nostrils. I just don't like them. I never liked them, not even one of them. When I wonder as to what genre they belong, I think they cater to 12 year-old girls and below. They came to Manila twice and I heard they were quite unapproachable to the media and snubbish to the fans.

I believe their Philippine fan base is now non-existent.

Anyway, I can't wait to see Rainie Yang on the spotlight! :excited:

well, though i'm not really interested in 5566, as i seldom hear their songs and never see them perform, but i can say and see that they are talentless. i don't know why but they seems really unattractive, but they claim themselves to be popular. and yes, they are not good-looking!!! and after reading your guys comments here, i can see that they are arrogant. i heard once that they fought once about the division of the profit money between them....

and i read in the internet that they dance. well, do they? are they as good as koreans(DBSK, SHINHWA)? but i think nope. i even doubt can they really dance...

i have a love/dislike relationship with 5566's "talents" because i do think jason is good looking SOMETIMES, and that everyone else in the group is hilarious only on stupid entertainment shows like WXYL or SNTGD. they don't really sing well, they don't dance well, and their MVs are atrociously funny.

i don't hate them though because i think they're absolutely hilarious how they make complete fools of themselves but don't take themselves seriously.

oh man i'm glad someone noticed zax's GIGANTIC NOSTRILS.
they sometimes overwhelm me and appear to take up the whole screen.

MY annoyance with them is the show My MVP Valentine. what a piece of garbage that they call a drama. but then my anger at the lack of acting in that show and bad plot is sometimes directed at the guys in 5566 but mostly at the cello playing girl named angel !@#$%

Which strangely bears some resemblence to mo mo liu liu in cantonese which means... foolish, stupid, unnecessary... along the likes. ANYWAY. judes- I thought Xi Jie Shao Nien ( The westlife story? no, the westside story, i forgot) was worst! It was so stupid with that fish and walace. Walace claiming to be a Harvard graduate where he can barely even say "fish" properly. He says it as "fish-y". I thought their newer one, mr fighting was stupid too. I don't get the point, and they can't fight.

I'm with Judes about 5566. I love to watch the shows they host because they just don't give a crap and it's a relaxing and very carefree watching their entertainment shows. Anyway, my rant about 5566.

Those who still do not know what 5566 means... its supposed to be "5 guys with 6 talents" :bigyuck: (Don't ask me why they have to repeat the numbers, instead of just having 56... perhaps they are idiotic and forgetful, or their fans are). The guys being Zax, Jason, Tony, Sam and erm... Xiao Dao (I can't remember). And the Talents being in hosting, acting, singing, dancing, modelling (as in endorsement/advert) and erm... I can't remember the last one.

I must first own up to watching my MVP and Westside story. The thing with taiwanese idol drama is such that you do have to bear with the terrible acting. They can be pretty decent entertainment in contrast to low quality local production (yes, you DON'T know what SG tv can produce). I didn't have major complains about 5566's acting in MVP partly due to the fact that Yan Xing Shu (in club183 I believe) was there and his acting was FAR worse.

The cause of my hate are these:

1) Being void of any talent (other than making a fool out of themselves), they BRAG incessantly about how great/popular they are.

2) They claim to give their best, and back on WQYL they'd say how hard they are rehearsing for the upcoming performance... and well at the actual thing, all we see are guys who can barely dance and plenty of lipsynching.

3) They claim excellent album sales when what they have been doing is this: They release their first version, when the sales hits 10,000 copies, they'll release version 2 (supposedly a "qing gong ban" to commerate their succcess). If that sells well, then there'd be a 3rd version with bonus MVs or some toy or some new cover. And those innocent lil' fangirls (most of them teens who have no clue on marketing tactic) will go grab the next copy. They have at least 3 versions of each album :dry: The worst part, when they do the album signing sessions, they only sign for the latest version and nothing else! See how scruplous they are!



The last straw came when they came and performed for a local charity show, they LIP SYNCED! Like WTF!?! where's the sincerity? And it was a slow ballad-y piece mind you?



Dear Zax is preoccupied with his "weight" and his slimming. Now that he's stick thin, he looks super UGLY! can someone tell him that? Face it, you are not blessed with a defined jawline, slimming WONT help! He looks anorexic now.

Okay you guys, I gotta say something here. While I don't pay that much attention to 5566 nor do I listen to their songs (I do have 1 album that was on sale but I've never listened to it).

Anyway, I have to say that Zax (Wang Ren Fu) CAN sing. I've heard him sing solo, walking down the street, in the car, and he's not bad. Also, he is a REALLY nice guy, down to earth, and very faithful to his girlfriend. I'm not great friends with him but I have met him before and he was really nice to me and also, not a snob at all.

Btw, I do think his show is sometimes funny... although I do fast foward to some parts to get to the news.

And no, I'm not a huge fan... I respect him as a person though. I don't know about the others, but I do know Tony was nice to me when I met him almost 10 years ago in Xi Meng Ding.

But I their picks of concert outfits and hair... yeah... that's kinda XXXX.

Damn, I had this magazine, full of Jay pictures, but also full of these 5566 pictures (mainly zax and tony anyway). They were posing SO weirdly! I wanted to show, but i lost it.. I lost it!! wah.

I really don't like when Zax and Tony thinks that they are the leader, all the attention is to them. I think them two (and maybe sam) is the most braggy. Only Zax and Tony would have a page in the magazine for themselves. On talk shows, Zax and Tony talks the most. Most people like Zax and Tony, better than the other two. I guess Zax is ok, better than tony. Tony seriously looks like an old grandpa. The way he talks, the way he pushes his hair off his shoulders.. Zax can sometimes be funny in shows.

I don't know why they won so many awards. [note the "won" because they don't win anything anymore, nowadays..]

Haha actually I kind of like some of their songs in the past and I wouldn't actually say they can't sing but I definitely don't like this group for various reasons. I had no idea about the SMAP thing though, thanks for that piece of information. But yes, I feel that they don't have any looks, I hate Tony's hair to go with and I hate most of the ways they dance too. Just looking at them nowadays make me sick. Acting? I think Wang Renfu is okay with that part but the rest of them can go fly kites. No offence to those who love 5566 but since this thread is as it is, those are just my opinions.

I remember there was once, a geocities site existed(i don't know if they still do now) and they were all 5566 diehard fans. That was alright, except they were insulting many other artists, and posting alot of purposely drawn ugly pictures of them, and saying on the front of the cover: "Save our god, 5566, eliminate the rest of the useless idols" in chinese. It made me want to die on the spot.

Not to mention there was once a japanese idol boy band went to taiwan and attended Wang Renfu's variety show and they didn't speak chinese, and Wang Renfu asked them to repeat after him by saying: "Taiwan's hottest Boyband is 5566", in chinese. Those might not be the exact words, since it happened about 2 years ago or so, I can't remember exactly but he did make them say those words with basic grounds. It may have came as a joke, but still, it made my hairball curl.

I dont think it is very fair to say that all of the Jungiery stars suck. Isnt this thread is directed to 5566 alone? No, not all of them all lip-sync, at least not at every event, and some can dance, k one for instance. At least I think they can dance quite well. As for the acting part, some can act, too. It's waaaay too general to say that ALL of them cant dance, cant sing, cant act and cant dance.

I am not a major fan, but really, zax can sing. And actually, I thought(and still think) that SNTGD and WQYL are funny. To each his own though. When they are 'bragging', they do it in a well, jokingly manner and I dont think they mean anything. Of course, this is only my opinion. Releasing alot of different versions, I think it's the company's decision and we cant put the blame on them. After all, they are not the only ones releasing Gai Bans, other stars not from Jungiery also releases Gai Bans.

No offence at all, but I think that some of you are being quite biased here. Everything stated here is just my opinions alone, and not directed at anyone.

everyone is biased, and everyone has their likes or dislikes, but remember this is the bashing forum, not the i love ____ forum. we're free to say that we don't like a certain band and you're free to say that you like them, and you are biased as well.

i doubt that stars are "forced" to say to people that they are the best. stars have their own ways of interpreting and accepting what they are told to say, how they want to act in public, and what they will do in reality. some of these people are probably offended by their statements and don't find it that funny, which is in their own right to do so. i find them really funny cause they're obviously not the best group, and they don't take themselves that seriously, and i doubt they actually believe they're the best group in the world considering how many other people they've mocked.

i believe that jay didn't look good on his first album or his second album or even his last album. he just doesn't have that kind of look for a "star" but yet he is because he writes his own music and he's a hard worker.

5566's MVs have improved from their first album to the second album (probably a bigger budget), but their dancing is still fairly terrible, and their singing is the not the best either. tony and zax both have fairly good voices, but it's not about voice, it's about the songs in general, and they're not a very good group in terms of quality of music and harmonies with the other members of the group and their rap songs / r&b songs make me cringe. i think they should stick to those entertainment shows because that's their strongest forte. i just watched WQYL last night and i laughed my head off.

don't even get me started on the jungiery stars, especially k-one.
i think k-one is even worse than 5566 in terms of music and performance (top on the forbidden city for crying outloud, does someone call that dancing?)

ziai, I understand your point but I didn't say I blamed 5566 for the actions of their fans. The thought just came back to me when I began typing in this thread so I just typed it all down. ^_^

And I agree with what judes said too about the biased point. To be honest, I never believed in head-to-head bashing of artists because I never liked arguing with other members in the forum over these matters(it would only end in childish and senseless blabbling). However, since we are able to maintain a mature discussion so far, and this forum IS being monitored strictly, I'm not against this one.

With regards to the singing part, amongst all the members in 5566, I liked Wang Renfu, or Zax's voice the most(but that does not tantamount to me liking his voice on the whole).

I don't know, but different people DO have different tastes in music or different views on what 'voice' or 'song' is 'good' and 'bad', and looks, and on and on. Therefore, I'm sure we(those who dislike 5566 in this thread) are just stating our views/comments on the subject because we do to a certain extend, agree on some grounds that 5566 is not the type of band we are 'looking for'.

Well, every artist appeals to different audiences.

You either hate them, or you crazy fangirl love them to death. Because from what I've observed, the fans of asia LOVE 5566 CRAZILY. And then there's the ones who are more fans of Xiao Zhu or ASOS, who wouldn't be caught dead listening to "Tai Ke's" like 5566.

5566 are really good friends with them. i watched this behind the scenes clip of this concert and Ah Xin was so cute! hahaha mayday came off stage and 5566 was preparing to go on and they were all giving each other high fives and then Ah Xin goes up to zax (you know how he has crazy bomb hair) and grabs two little strands, pulls them, and then just walks away. WTH. HAHAHAHA IT WAS SO CUTE. :D

I watched them on Wo Ai Hei Se Hui the other day and they got quite a few negative comments from the girls saying that they can't sing and even compared them to 183 Club.

Personally, I prefer them to 183 Club because 183 Club's members make me feel like puking everytime I see them on TV. Not only they are not handsome, they look ugly and they can't sing to me. All they know is to pose like they are some kind of hunks but they are definitely nothing close to it. I think they are overly overrated. But to think of it, all the Jungiery Stars are overrated. :rolleyes:

I saw an entertainment interview show kinda thing and it was hosted by one of the 5566 member with another guy. They acted like retarded people, seriously. They was jumping here and there and laughing their ass off at their own silly jokes when guest himself isn't laughing.

One of a kinda group that's proud to copy others, when they should be hiding inside their turtle shell. They can't be compared to SMAP at all. SMAP members are singers even before they were born.

The member I hate the most is Tony. Seriously, he acts like a girl. His hair irritates me, especially when he sways it back. It's too long and really , not in fashion anymore. I find that F4 club was horrible when all 4 of them are having the same long-hairstyle. They look waay too gay when they sway the hair back and putting them behind the ears *shivers*
I saw one photoshoot of them, when they have wind blowing and seeing their hair flying so high.. horibble! Those kinda wind-blowing-photoshoots are meant for girls with long pretty hair to show off.

I never really liked 5566 as well. I tried listening to their songs because my cousin liked them but I couldn't stand them - -x. I can't believe Taiwan considers them as one of their best boy bands. I think there are so many other bands better. They don't look nice either. when meteor garden was aired here in the philippines, i was really REALLY into F4 so i hated 5566 so much because they were like competing with each other.. then like a year after, i started liking them (their songs actually) and i became a fan but not an obsessed one.. i never bought any of their albums... oh wait i have the OST of Westside Story cos i was looking for this one song and it isnt even in there :dry: that album was a complete waste of good money! :oops:

anyway, i was a fan and i think they came here may of last year? i had connections with the company that brought them here so i was really excited because we (my friends and i) were scheduled to go meet them at their hotel.. we waited for 5 freakin' hours and when it was already 11 pm, the brother of my "connection" told us that they didnt want to meet with us becasue they were tired (yeah right... one of the hotel employees told us that they were watching the 5566 special (or something like that) on tv before mr fighting was to be shown here... :glug:) and that we should have went to their fan signing event earlier that afternoon... (well we would have been there if we werent waiting for you :dry: ) so, we got no other choice so the 3 of us went home but one of my friends was still waiting for her ride when the parked car of 5566 suudenly sprang to life and went to the back of the hotel... turns out they were going to a tv station to film a show and they didnt want us to be there when they would be passing through the lobby....

thats my story... and i really hated them after that... but now i have a friend who loves them dearly (and she even rewrites their lyrics when she has nothing to do :glug: ) so i started listening to their latest album (i think)... but yeah there's still some hatred left in me... i like zax's voice though... and i think he's pretty funny... but yeah, he and tony hogs the mic sooooo much! sam and jason (who is cute in soem pics) doesnt even do anything.... they are like back-up dancers or something in my opinion...
