Aside from the plot, the movie itself is filled with eye candies for everyone. First of all the stars, I'm sure many of our female member wouldn't mind seeing Colin Farrell in a silk shirt, greased back long hair and cool shades:D Being an asian based community, I'm sure everyone is more interested in Gong Li's performance. My first impression was "WOW, for an actress that has already passed 40, she's absolutely gorgeous!" Her English has definitely improved but you will still notice the choppiness when she gets a longer line.

The movie also did a nice contrast between the streets of Miama and those of the South American ghettos. And lets not forget the nice ferrari, the nearly airborne speed boat and the million dollar beach side apartment.

But the ultimate downfall of this movie is the lack of action and prolonged dialogues involving a bunch of drug dealers speaking broken English on top of the numerous drug dealing jargon that most of our young audiences here in JCnet will not and should not understand.

My personal connection to this movie is that I use the same phone as Sonny(Nokia 6710).

Thanks for the comment. Based on that I don't think this movie is that different or special than any other Hollywood action movies.
But then my boyfriend is a big fan of the drama series and he kept telling me how good this movie gonna be, but then I don't think it is.

I would say that the plot line is too simple and straight forward.. although there are some unexpected moments... I guess the best part of the movie is the love story between the characters...and the instant kill part (you'll know what i'm talking about if you watched the movie). But overall, I think this movie is over-rated.

This is probably one of the worst movies I've seen last year. I expected it to have more cinematics and explosions. The story was ok, but didn't keep me wanting to see more. Too much talk, not big enough of a gun battle.

A better "Miami Vice" is Bad boys II. Watch that, you'l get a big adrenline boost and it has better plot lines.

I agree with orangeman on both counts. Horrible movie (very possibly the worst action movie I've seen ... no wait, Hollywood Homicide (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0329717/) was worse, bad boys 2 (better) & 1 (great) are decent.

Sinnerman, Pennies in my pocket & one of these mornings is worth a punt.

Otherwise the acting is atrocious, Colin looks spaz-tastic, and whats with the patch-quilted plot?

i must admit that the only reason i even bothered to watch this movie was because gong li was in it..

the movie was so boring i couldn't even bring myself to finish the movie.. after about 40 minutes i just gave up on the movie.. the action was so so and the plot wasn't that interesting.. the sound track is pretty good tho, but i would not recommend this movie at all =(
