View Full Version : Forum for homework section..
erm..is there any place in this site where one can ask help from homework?...Because i think that if everyone can help each others with theory and pratical queries..that will be great..because i am having alot of confusing Qs on Physics and Chemistry and i am afraid to post those Qs on this site as it is nothing related to Jay and the Forum...and recently some of my threads had recieve strong negative comments which causes my rep point to drop by 6....so i am now more cautious of making queries on this site...so if there any place where i can place my queries? or it is strictly prohibited from this site?
P.S if this thread have cause any disturbances to any members..i apologise.. :shy:

I initially added it when I was restructering the forums, but decided to take it off for now. I have to rethink how I'm gonna manage access to that forum.
1). I don't want people to abuse it e.g. people going in there posting "How do you do this problem?" without showing that they at least attempted to solve it themselves first.
2). I don't want jcnet passer-bys and lurkers to use it since they don't contribute anything to the forums, yet ask for homework help, which is not as simple as asking for a download and stuff. So I may use the plaza points to restrict this...e.g. it'll cost 5 points to make a topic in there.
Anyways this is all possibilities, nothing I have decided on entirely yet.

Just say no Karen. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I originally thought a forum for school discussion would be an asset to this forum, but this request makes me re-think the whole she-bang. Its one thing to talk about what courses to take in college, discussions on school-life and cafeteria food... but another to be doing their homework for them too.
Perhaps we can move this thread to the JCNET Planning & Development forum and see what the rest of the members think?

A forum to ask for help on homeworks? I say NO!
Discussions on what courses to take, about school life, terror teachers and the like are okay,
and asking for advice on how to make a good term paper is passable,
but certainly not topics like Help me with my assignment or Can someone solve this for me?
People will begin to solely rely on others to do their homework without contributing to the forums
or helping other members who need assistance on their homeworks too.
In this case, it should be a give and take situation. Perhaps the plaza points will do for now.

Simply put, if you have homework problems, you shouldn't be coming here for help. Seriously, please use some common sense. If you have homework problems, call your friends, read the textbook, ask your teacher, or go to after-school tutoring. Not asking random people on the internet for the answer who have no obligation to give you the right answer (but can give you the wrong answer for their own entertainment).
That's not to say the internet is not a resource for homework, simply not here. You mentioned physics and chemistry questions, and I guarentee you, if you go to google and search up what you don't understand, you will find thousands upon thousands of websites that can explain the concept to you.
In other words, don't be lazy, thats how you learn.
okay, i understood..sometimes if you search somthing on the net, thier explainations are too difficult to understand, nevermind, thanks anyway for all comments, i will try my best to figure them out.

I agree with all the above posts...
why would you be asking homeowork questions here...
teachers , family, friends... theres tons of others which you can ask for help!
why would you ask it here...
forum for it IS a good helpful idea... but it could turn into:
-people doing homework for others
-leeching...

as for that.. like i said earlier...
friends, teachers, family... ask them?
