Olivia's music, I either hate it or love it. She has very little middle ground with me. =D
Well after being absent for 2-3 years she has finally come back with a 3 track single, which I quite like. This first track on this single is the themesong to the anime NANA, which I've never seen nor do I like anime, but anyways:

Track 1 - a little pain - A rock ballad, Olivia is know for having quite a high voice, so when she reaches for those notes, it's quite pretty to listen too. Rumor has it this song was originally written in English, so most likely an English single will be released.

Track 2 - tears & rainbow - Yes I love ambient dreamy vocals and melodies, so obviously I love this song. The piano plays the same 10 notes in repetition throughout most of the song, eventually you just don't hear it anymore. The "oh's oh's" after the chorus are a bit suspect, but other than that, I like the song.

Track 3 - let go - I find myself skipping this song everytime, I just can't listen to it all the way through.

I know some long-time fans of OLIVIA weren't too fond of this single and thought it too pop-rocky, but I've never followed her too closely, I really love 'a little pain' it's really gorgeous to listen to and the PV is just as pleasing. Also considering it's OLVIA inspi'REIRA (TRAPNEST) I think it's great.

I haven't watched the NANA anime either, but I read the manga religiously, and 'a little pain' is seriously perfect for TRAPNEST, just the kind of thing I imagined when reading, much better than Yuna Ito's attempt at REIRA with "Endless Story"

I would prefer this song more than the opening track of NANA. It gets better after a few more listens. But the movie songs are still much better than the anime. Oh wells.. they cannot be compared eh?
