I have a ton of things to do and little time to do it in, so I'm taking advantage of all the kind offers of help that some of you have given to me in the past.

These are just some things I need done

If you think you can do it please post here so we don't have multiple people do the exact same thing.

NEED ASAP

1). A tutorial on how to access the Jay Multimedia, Downloads & Links forum. Including what group you need to be in, how you get in that group, what these 2 forums have in them. And then a pictoral guide on how to purchase the password from the plaza. Please PM me the guide. taken - JianDan[Ai] done

DON'T NEED ASAP, BUT SOONER THAN LATER

2). The FAQ is quite out of date on a lot of things concerning the site. I need someone to read over them and tell me what to delete or update (you have to write out the verbiage for me as well - basically you're writing the FAQ) for the stuff that doesn't apply anymore e.g. "Why are all the files on Yahoo Briefcase, and in so many parts?" :glug: when was the last time we use BC for anything??

A knowledge of current policies is a must. Don't worry if you don't know ALL intricate details. I will read over and edit it if need be. But your help to weed out some stuff is a big help.

The FAQ about Jay, you can either update it, add stuff you think ppl ask about alot, etc. But for the most part it looks updated to me, but then again I don't keep up with Jay much anymore.

You're just to submit to me a word doc or txt file of the changes. - taken zhoudaoyan, lattae, laruku done

3). A tutorial on what the plaza is, how to get points. A pictoral guide on how to use it. If you don't know the details on some stuff, you can do the guide as sort of a template for me, and I will fill in the details.
Here was my initial quick and dirty guide (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18761) you can use for some reference. taken - kahel

3). A guide including a brief intro on what the 6 social groups are (maybe a history), how to get into them, and introduction - or bio if you will - for each group. This is a very general guide, you may need to PM the group leader or mingle with the group members to get some info for your guide. taken - judes

NEED IN NEAR FUTURE (AUG.15-20)

4). SMods (preferred) or Mods only:
There are alot of translations in the Give-Me forum that can be utilized when the new Translations forum is created. I need someone to split the translation(s) from the request thread, and create it into it's own thread. Thread titles are for example:
[LYRICS] Will Liu Geng Hong - Cai Hong Tian Tang (Rainbow Heaven) C/PY/T

If you are a mod and can't moderate the Give-Me forum, I will give you access to it if you are willing to do this. taken - ker_ai_teresa

5). Our official lyrics page: http://www.jay-chou.net/lyrics.php hasn't been updated with lyrics since November's Chopin. Currently it just links to the posts in the forums. I need someone to consolidate and format the lyrics into a page just like all the other albums. HTML knowledge required. I will give you the template for the page, and you just plug and chug the lyrics in, format it, then send me back all the html pages for the lyrics you did. Your computer must be able to show Chinese characters to edit these. taken - scarletwillow done

6). Jay's biography (http://www.jay-chou.net/biography.php) needs updating. taken - stitchphil

I can do the plaza point pictorial guide. Since I see that it's not need asap, I can do it around the weekend. Hopefully that timeline would be fine. ^_^

i put together a very general guide for the newbies here earlier in the day:
http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20174

i can send out PMs tonight and probably get everything up by tomorrow.

do you want me to just update that post or do you want me to PM everything to you?

Thanks judes! I didn't even see that, it's perfect! There's just so much going on I haven't had time to look everything over. Now I know how the new members feel, information overload.

And thanks kahel and JDA, so the only thing left is the FAQ. I already feel 75% more productive!

kahel I'll send you intermittent PMs from time to time concerning the plaza points, in case there are certain features that are not obvious so you can write up the guide.

I can take the Jay FAQ since I still follow his news every now and then. But I can only do so after my exams on the 26th. I can get it done by the first week of September latest.

But if anyone can get it done anytime before my exams is over, then please do so.

OK translation required, is that a yes/no what? I'm unclear whether to mark that as taken or not. It's very tedious work so if you're not up to it then think please twice.

Jay's biography needs updating, I haven't been keeping up with all his shenanigans, so anyone up to the job of catching us all up? :D
You can either update Lisa's existing one, or write your own...

stitchphil
08-20-2006, 01:14 PM
I'll be glad to do that!

I'll be able to get it done by the end of the week. Only thing is.. Is there a way to copy and paste some of the text on that page? I think the html coding disabled copying. I would like to write it up myself, using Lisa's edition as a basis of reference, and of course update what Jay's been up to since then.

Edit: Is something like this okay? This is a continuation from Lisa's edition.

Jay’s first major movie role came in Initial D when he starred in the film directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak, the same duo that directed the Infernal Affairs trilogy. In the movie, Jay acts as the child prodigy, Takumi Fujiwara, a high school student in Japan with a tattered childhood. He plays along side other movie A-listers such as Anthony Wong, Edison Chen and Shawn Yue.

The film has won numerous awards in Hong Kong, and more importantly, Jay won the award for Best Newcomer for his role in the movie during the 42nd Golden Horse Awards and again during the 25th Hong Kong Film Awards. Jay was visibly delighted during the Golden Horse Awards when he accepted his award, he said in his acceptance speech, “I never thought that what I’ve not won in the Golden Melody Awards, I’ve managed to get it back here” making reference to the Golden Melody Awards, which has been shutting him out from the Best Male Singer category year after year.

Hey stitch thanks for volunteering! You should be able to copy and paste the bio now. The part you've continued sounds good, keep it up!
