What is your first impression of JCNET?

Your poll options are above and feel free to select one and vote, and we would love for you to elaborate on your responses in a reply. Or if you feel like the responses are not what you feel, tell us in a reply as well.

So let us know!

Lol. I chose:
The rules seem really hard and difficult to follow, I'm not sure if I'll come back again.

To be honest, my first impression of JCNET wasn't a very good one. I've been to many different forums and this forum appeared to have one of the most difficult rules to follow (AT FIRST SIGHT) while I was roaming here and there. I remember there was 1 sentence that added to this anxiety and that was something like, 'we ban/delete accounts without warning if you break the rules' I can't remember the exact words but it carried some background like that one.
However, after that first impression, I got around the rules and began getting to know the website even more and realised it wasn't that strict afterall.
Just like every normal forum, it just hopes for more discussion and tries ways to keep leechers and spammers off-ground for good.

i chose "I feel welcomed and everyone is friendly. I'd love to come back and post more!" because when i made a new topic in this newbies sanctuary... i received tons of replies from really nice people! it's definitely better than the people at other forums i've seen! i'm glad! =]

although the rules are very strict, i think it's good because i hate leechers too!

At first,I felt happy, just because I can get many information about Jay,and also see many Jay fans-people who also love Jay so so so much, like me.But actually,I have some troubles with posting and replying.Sometimes,I can't reply and sometimes I have to log in again and again. It makes me tired and sometimes angry-I just want to break the computer  But,of course I can't.Anyway, members of JCnet make me feel happy with their posts and sometimes I can't help laughing.I think you guys are very friendly, awesome and humorous :excited: ,and I will post more and more to contribute to our JCnet.

As different forum has different set of rules, i have to remember and keep an eye on how am I doing.

Think of when I first logged in JCNET, I voted The rules seem really hard and difficult to follow, I'm not sure if I'll come back again

but I still be here, it's not that hard to follow or live with the rules. There are also the rules in real life anyway.

:whoops:

I'm so sorry judes. I 'accidently' voted when I was reading the poll options. Without even remembering that this is a poll for newbies. I don't know if non-newbies are allowed to vote (I don't think so since this is a Newbie Sanctuary ). But the options are just too seductive for me not to vote. :shy:

Anyway, I voted option 3. It took me ages to get used to the environment and rules here. But after I get used to it, I have a good time surfing JCNet.

I got a feeling that I can ve banned anytime, just kidding! But I never come across any forums that 've got so many rules like this before. Therefore, I just visit this site once or twice a month to read news

My first impression of JCNET was "very clean and organized". At first, it was confusing to navigate, but after I spent a few minutes, I got the hang of it. I felt a little restrained and limited as a newbie, or NOOB! I'm a gamer......so I use that more often. I still feel like I can't do anything for the time being, but hopefully I can break out of my straight-Jacket. Just kiddin.

The site is well maintained and informed of all things Jay Chou.

Does anyone know if there are any concerts in November '06?

Doesn't have to be Jay, but it would be a plus.

Did you just post "Yeah, what xxx said?". *lol* Watta lazy post :D

Just to stay on topic, I would say my first impression of JCnet was a positive one. I started slowly: lurked for a little, and chatted where I felt comfortable. The thing that caught my attention from the beginning was how friendly and funny the members on this forum were. I then PMed and got to know some older members who guided me along (re: rules, social groups, etc), which incidentally is one of the inspirations for introducing the "buddy program (http://jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20127)". It's been so fun here, especially when I became a part of my social group (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20174). And I'm still here even after so long ...guess I'm still hooked.

Hmm.....when I first got here....I was really confused about all of the rules. I also felt overwhelmed by how intense some of the fans are.....I used to think I was bad...but now I see that I'm just a normal fan. I'm addicted to this site because it has so much info on what Jay's up to that I can get everything I need to know from this one place. :)

I have been here quite a while now. Before the alteration of the entire site - the new look, new forums and even new rules....

At times, I find it confusing and now even more confusing, it's like moving to a jungle filled survival laws. Haihz.... Therefore, I chose option 3.

However, the site is great and properly organised. Kudoz to the developers and the moderators. :D

I really like this website. I just dislike the rules and regulations because when you enter a website, you expect to get the things you want, but unfortunatley we have to post a certain amount and take up time doing stuff just to download a picture or something. I guess that is the price of websites.

I voted the first option. Although the forum can seem overwhelming for newbies at first, everything is clearly explained if you just spend some time reading the rules/faqs. The forum in general looks clean and organized and i'm sure as you spend more time here, you'll get more aquainted with how the forum works.

empress
10-17-2006, 03:21 PM
It's interesting with the rules and guidelines were so short-- I mean the terms of agreement. Then after you get that first PM. lol
It kind of felt like an RPG when you have to complete a list of tasks in a particular sequence to get out of the kiddie arena.
=)
But i see the purpose.

Sometimes with forums you can register and not immediately activate through the email and still post.

Seriously, This place seems so clean. Format and everyone knows what's up and doesn't like deliberately spam or what have you. Nice.

It's been a while since I've done the online forum thing, and I even had a short stint as a mod for one. I'm part of soompi, kineda, aForums, and I think kpop. I wouldn't be shocked if I was on a BoA forum.

So far no StIkCiE caps have been seen or ridiculous spam.

I was reading some articles posted about a recent concert. I love how you guys translate everything here from articles to lyrics. It takes so much time for me to translate anything from Korean and I'm sure one of the translating team is a native speaker/writer what have you. Regardless, I just wanted to say it's very much appreciated. I can maybe read the characters for water, wood, school, love, and eat. lol
Thanks for helping out us fans who haven't learned the language yet.

I feel so overwhelmed and confused. I'm not sure what I feel about JCNET yet.

But i don't really mean that in a bad way. I must admit, the barrage of jay info is overwhelming, but he's an established artist, so it would be just fitting heheh. I was hoping for a coppermine gallery though.... heheh sorry ^_^;;

all in all I would still say "keep up the good work!" because maintaining a site of this magnitude is not easy, and so far (aside from the gallery which kinda confused me) everything is quite organized! :D

A:/I feel so overwhelmed and confused. I'm not sure what I feel about JCNET yet.

Honesty, the rules scared me. I'm still new but from what I seen so far everything is really well and taken care of. I guess the " will ban you and *some things I forgot goes here* really got to me. But it's for the best I guess. I do hope I get along with everyone here ^^;;. Everything in the site seems organized so I like that very much =)

on the whole, its a great forum...good that its clean too...but i'm still having trouble writing in full english...the rate i'm writing this now is extremely slow....but i'll get by it...i'm sure i will...the consequences of breaking the rules here are too scary anyway...and i'm still unclear about the whole points and reps thingy...what to do...i'm a newbie..looks like i have to look up on the mentor thingy too...but i like this forum on the whole...i'm just getting impatient in waiting for the rights to post replies on other subjects...that's all...lenghty am i not?haha...bear with me people...

Frankly put, this is an amazing forum, great organization, friendly members, earnest people who are interested in a discussion, and fun altogether.

I'm glad i discovered a forum like this, otherwise, i'd only have 3 other people to ramble on and on about my favorite mandopop artists. LOL

the rules aren' too strict. Havoing visited other forums, I can say that I've seen far more lax and far more strict rules. j-cnet is nice mix of the two.

When I joined over a week ago.I thought this site was a very professional & informative site. There was so much to explore & learn & there still is.

I was also kind of baffled by the rules but I understood the logic behind them & tried my best to follow them.I also think you guys did a great job with the buddy program because when I first came here.

Not alot of people welcomed me.So the buddy program made up for that feeling of going to your first day of school & that everyone is judging you.

I was excited to find out about the interest in bank points that you can earn, the lottery, the bets, & buying passwords.

But I was disappointed when I found out the hard way that most of those functions were disabled & there's not many fun things we can do with points anymore. But overall,it's a great site & great job judes. That's why I keep coming back to post more.^^

First Impression = very good.

It was so good that i thought that I needed to register + pay a small sum of money to access the forums / lyrics sections. But it seems that it is free of charge. :-) . I would definitely recommend other to this website for their no.1 source of Jay material.

Keep up the good work !

I love this site. It's fun and cool. I mean, I've visited a lot of sites and this is my favourite fan club site. Not only does it display messages and news in a language that I can read and understand, but I find that all Jay's fans are really cool people. At least, the real fans are :) Anyways, anyone who likes Jay surely has a good taste in music.

hmm, my first impression was that it was confusing and overwhelming. so many links and whatnot. But I think I'll get used to it.

I feel that this is a cool site, but yes I do have to agree that some of these rules are kind of hard to follow, but I think that I'll get teh hang of it soon.

Yeah, it was pretty confusing @ first, well that's because I'm lazy, and could't be bothered to read the rules, which the admins worked so hard on (no, really no pun intended). Now, I'm getting the hang of things.

I don't like the fact that u have 2 wait a whole week b4 i can move up:rasp:, so i can post in other forums. But then again rules r rules, so I guess its alright!

At first i thought the site was AMAZING since i could read about what's happening in China in english! I like how the rules are strict so that people can't leech and put horrible comments which keeps the site nicer. The thing with the -being kicked off if you don't go on- i think is a great rule. When you do look at the number of users then you don't see how many people filled out the form you seen fans of Jay Chou who are still talking and big fans of him!

Everyone in here is very friendly and welcoming :] and I love how everything is super organized~

To be honest though, I'm still a bit confused with the rules and such but I hope I'll eventually become familiar and less confused with the rules ^____^

But overall, this is a very dedicated site with a very friendly community~

i chose "The rules seem really hard and difficult to follow, I'm not sure if I'll come back again"

well, the rules and the navigation is a bit hard to grasp with at first.. unlike most comm i entered, download was made available at least 5% of the whole download files links in the comm..it gives the new user a peek of what's best coming when they stay on active in the comm:) regardless of that, i'd still gonna come back in the comm :)
