i think she was from Taiwan, but because she had went overseas to study design before so she is quite American too.
I do agree that she can sing well and dance well. I only know Cappucino from her 1st album, but i think her songs generally nice. I like Chuang Wai De Tian Qi and Wo Ai Ni Na Me Duo. Her latest album is also not bad too.

i only have her first 2 albums, but they're pretty catchy, so i guess i like her! i also heard "kiss", "his and her story" and "u make me wanna, ft. blue" and i liked them. i think she's really pretty, too. in terms of jay and elva being together..i think they would be a good couple but then lots of jay fans would hate elva and vice versa...it's kinda sad how fans get upset over this kinda stuff, u kno? just my opinion...

Elva is real cool! I like her song with Blue called "You Make Me Wanna" She's so talented. Her voice is so cool. I can't believe she can sing in both Chinese . . . Canto and Guo Yu. Not many artists can sing like her. Does she have a new CD out yet? Hopefully. I would like to listen more to her songs. Is she still just as popular in Taiwan and overseas?

Okay, now my two cents:

1). Elva definately HAS singing talent, she has a loud clean voice like Landy.

2). I wouldn't say she is that pretty either, but ALL the celebrities wear makeup so it's not only HER that would look "freakish" without it.

3). And hello why does Jay do commericals? Because the company wants his face to "sell" stuff. So how is that "superficial" for Elva to to get her face on "every single poster" when that's what they want her to do? She's just trying to survive in the industry.

4). I don't really know about her personality, so I have no say in that. Maybe it's because she can't speak Mandarin well so she feels like in her foreign language, her personality is concealed.

her music is generally pretty catchy--i like. but her, actually i dun know that much about her except that my friend thinks she's kinda hmmm i dunno, she's pretty critical though. she says that when elva first went back to taiwan she had this an american accent (because i guess she lived in the u.s. or canada? for awhile) when she spoke mandarin but within two months it was gone ;) i guess abcs are pretty well accepted in the taiwan entertainment industry and are actually more desirable so i guess maybe that's why she would bother? ok, i'm done babbling about elva--a topic i know very little about ;)

Elva is coming to SG to hold a concert. i remembered reading in a mag that said that her TW's concert tix din sell as many as expected. i really wonder if her concert can sell in SG, but they are giving away a $100 ++ package for the 1st 1000 pple who bought her $125 and $95 tix. i heard that she was quite good except that she cant sing live for her fast songs, all the fast songs are all pre-recorded so that she can concentrate on her dance steps.

Woohoo. Elva is real hot. She has a really great powerful voice. Really liked her Love Theme Song album. Was top class. Tracks like Wen & Ta He Ta De Gu Si and of course Love's Theme Song are classics. She is a really good dancer as well.

Actually, aDrena was asking about one of the clips she uploaded, where Elva sang at this Beijing concert. The song following Wo Xi Huan Ni Kuai Le was Ming Tian (Tomorrow), and I've answered that previously (which was why I'm clarifying this). :D

Yup, think this is pretty much a rumour. I mean the Alan Tam part that is. He is such a respected figure in the industry so don't think he will take the chance to dig at other artist in that way.

Have read in Elva's forum about some of the rumours of her being bitchy and all during her days overseas while she was studying and all. But whos to care as we only listens to her songs. :) :)

Yup, the mandarin version of Lonely is Suan Ran Xiang Qi Ni. Really cool Lazy feel to that track.

I love Elva too. It's pretty obvious that the girl has sass & knows how to dance, that she's pretty, and has a convincing voice. But I love her style! I know everyone's like "She can pull off all her various looks & styles" cos she looks great, but I think you need to have confidence & a sense of style to convincingly portray 'Cuteness' one minute, 'Elegance' the next, and then 'Streetwise' so effortlessly (okay, and with the help of a team of stylists, hairdressers & make-up artists...for sure). I'm so jealous she got to go to NY for 5th Avenue. That would be my ultimate city to visit.

when i first went back to taiwan this summer, i had little to no knowledge of taiwanese singers like elva. i only thought she was a pretty face and prejudged her without hearing her music or recordings. i was wrong in doing that XD. she really IS talented.

before i knew much about elva, i watched the animated version of the Butterfly Lovers: Leon and Jo, and fell in love with Leon's voice (and the song "he" sang). so began my hunt for the mystery artist behind it all.

Anson Hu yan bin was quite talented. The duet was very nice :D . I dont know how to describe it. I find that his vocal was great! But i think his voice was a little weird though. Elva's voice was more clear and louder, sometimes i cannot hear his voice.

I've liked Evla sing I first heard of her, which was her song "Di Xia Tie". :happy: I think she's got a really nice voice, and she can sing both fast and slow songs. She's also quite pretty. :-) Hm... my favourite songs are "Ni Shi Wo Xin Zhong Yi Ju Jing Tan", "Zui Shou Xi De Mo Shen Ren" and "Xing Fu De Di Tu". :tongue:

Yeah, hopefully she can recover soon. I heard from the news that the condition got worse after she insisted on going around to promote album. I just started getting interested in Elva this summer. She has a really nice voice. The first song I heard from her was "biao bai." I only found out about it because I was watching Hana Kimi at the time. I do not know much about her, but some told me in her "Biao Bai" music video, you can tell she is wearing eye glue. But I suppose many Taiwanese artists wear eye glue, so it does not really matter. And when I watched it, I could not tell the difference. (Ahaha. But I usually can not tell that kind of stuff...)I like a few of her songs, though.
