I haven't been following Jay's discography much, but I heard from a friend that he has been sued on several occassions because he imitated other artist's songs. I always thought he composes his own music, and everything is original. Can this be real? Please don't let it be...I love Jay and his creativity, this is what makes him so unique and distinctive from the rest of the singers.
So does anyone know if he uses other people's music, and claims it as his own?

Jay sang other artiste's song that he wrote during concerts from what i know. for example, Jolin's Dao Dai in Incomparable Concert and Jordan Chan's Xian Shi (Hin Sai) in Incomparable Hong Kong Concert to name a few...
Please check the discography section (link is on the top) for more info of songs that Jay wrote for other artiste.
Edit:
Oops... my mistke for not reading the question correctly. Yeah, Fort Minor's Believe Me have something similiar to Jay's Shi Mian Chu Ge...

i think you're referring to the song 'si mian chu ge'. it was discussed earlier on and people said it sounded like Fort Minor's "Believe Me". you can check out the thread here (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15007&page=1&pp=10). you can also check out this thread here (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16301). i think it is just a coinsidence. jay wouldn't copy would he?

I think it's just a coincidence, the probability is quite high, since there are so many songs in the world, the one you compose might have a chance to be similar with others right?

you might also be referring to Her Space Holiday's "weight of the world" where the beginning sounded exactly the same as "in the name of the father" [jay's song].. i really do think it was pure coincidence, but it is pretty strange how they sounded exactly the same.

the answer is no... sometimes jay uses music samples that can be found on the internet to go with his compositions. sometimes other artists used the same samples by coincidence and jay gets accused of copying them. Im pretty sure Jay has never been sued for something like that, I think those were just rumors

It was proven that jay release yfzm before that song.
Anyway, the intro could just be an italian/european folk song?

He probably uses samples for some of his songs, thus it might resemble other people's songs.
And sometimes a lot of artists work with the same producer so the basic/main beat of the song can sometimes be re-cycled without the artists really realising/noticing it. In Jay's case, I don't know since I think he composes and produces most of his songs by himself right?
