hhmmm.. i dunno if this happen disccussed before.. BUT

has anyone noticed how similar ban shou ren is to in the end??

if anyone who has the two vids will know what im talking abt..

both feature singers on some kind of tower.. and both vids feature the lead singer moving towards the light on an elevated plane..

another accusation of plagurisim???? cos LP definately released In the end before jay released his..

hmm.....somehow yes.
The battle scene, tower scene...something like that.
I am sure Jay doesn't want it like that..cos he is not the director for the Mv.
Who shall we blame? :?

hmmm. it does have a few similarities. i assure you though. Jay didnt "rip off" the vid. like Miss_gun said, Jay didnt direct it. that and the vid for "Ban Shou Ren" is based on the Warcraft3 game.
the fact that both vids have a tower is totally outside of "In The End". the game WC3 has alot of towers in it. so it kinda has its own rights.
as for the battle, its taken right out of the bonus VCD that comes with the game. so it wasnt spacificly made to be in Jays vid.
that is why there is no plagurisim lawsuit against Jay.
sorry to burst your bubble but thats the facts. :prop:

It was the theme of warcraft. A tower being in the vid seems reasonable

well im just making comparisons.. so no bubble burst :)

anyhow i do feel that the similarites in the shooting angles are very very prominent..

and its not a matter of relevance to the song or whatsoever..

its just now they compare up.. and look alike frame to frame.

warcraft three is practically made up of towers, those who play TD will know what i'm talking about

so, its no surprise

regarding the rising to the light, there is a theme of corruption/recovery in WCIII

hmm.. you all seeem to be missing the point here..

its not how relevant the vid is to the song..

its how similar both the videos are..

i played warcraft also and the tower jay on looks nothing like any i saw in the game...

anyhow it seems like most are making up excuses to protect the jay video...

and lets not even start talking abt imagery..

i stress again... its not how relevent each song is to the video..

its how strikingly similar they are to each other...

haha that is only TDs tho....towers in reality play a very small part in the REAL game...but i mean...itz the building that would make the most sense...if u put hium in a freaking lumbermill...no one would get it... :bleh:

plus from a tower he gets a good view of the sunset...which is symbolic for what Jo mentioned above :wink2:

for some reason...i think the hero that best suits Jay ....is the blademaster....either that or the demon hunter....they are just those "diao" heros with swords...esp the DH with...DOUBLE BLADES :wink2:

BAN SHOU REN IS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!! the music is more sophisticated, it's so much more catchy than in the end! besides, any songs next to jay pales in comparison!!!

i don't deny that there are similarities... but i agree with those who think they're just coincidences. the orcs video seems fit for warcraft. who knows... maybe linkin park copied from warcraft 1 or 2!

I don't like the Ban Shou Ren vid and I don't like LP but I definitely prefer BSR to In the End.

Anyway, I digress. I don't see why accusations of copycat should ensue because nobody has a patent on singing from towers. So Jielun sang from a tower in BSR as did LP. Big deal. Any coincidences between LOTR's "The Two Towers" and America's fallen Twin Towers then?

JianDan[Ai]

wow, songs that sing about the SAME thing MIGHT be plaugurism?!!?!? NO WAY

then anyone who sings a love song MUST be plaugurizing...because...thats an OLD song idea that has been used MILLIONS of time...

so from now on, if there are any songs made about, love, losing lose, parodys, drugs, sex, cars, jobs, dreams, use symholism, or..ANYTHING else, it MUST be plaugism, and i will protest it

:realcool:

Good point JDA. :)

But I think this topic is centered around the video though. Ban Shou Ren and In The End (Linkin park will die) have similarly-themed music videos.

Seriously I thought BSR was a horrible MV. It was so crappy and b-grade, so cheap, like some crappy and cliche Hong Kong kung fu film, except with brighter colours and a very diao lead. Oh well, maybe it's just me.

haha yea...well it was made for warcraft III, a computer game, so a lot of graphics are taken straight from that game, so naturally, it was a very cheap productions =/

i dunno i only brought up that point cuz the person who started this thread said something about them both climbing a tower to a bright light something something...

haha..but yea...similar MVs are the same thing...so does that mean Lee Jung Hyun's "crazy" mv copied these guys too? (she jumps off a building) and what about that other song by evanesacne, where the girl climbs some high building...haha LOTS of plaugurizing :shifty: =P

Haha yeah that's true. Bring Me to Life, is it? I've seen something similar in another artist's MV before... can't remember who though. It was a rock band. Probably U2 but maybe not. They also had some guy jumping off a building.

why was BSR made for Warcraft whatever though?

JianDan[Ai]

im not sure which came first, the game or the song...haha...im THINKING, the song tho..and if thats the case, this is my hypothesis

'Ban Shou Ren' translates to 'orc' in english. Warcraft and Warcraft II, the games, are Real Time Strageties, and basically u get to pick to be either a human or an orc. In warcraft III, when u play, u pick one of 4 races, but still the main 2 races are human and orc. I guess that coincidence that Jay's song was named orc, and that one of the original, and main races u can choose to be in the game, are the orcs. Also, in the MV, the clips of all the battling is from the beginning movie cinematic to the game, and basically, the green guys fighting the knights (which are the human race) are the orcs.

...so...if that made no sense at all...lets put it this way
(1)
Jays song = orcs
Game involves orcs
wow, what a coincidence
(2)
Jay is popular
Blizzard (company that made WCIII) wants WCIII to be popular
wow another coincidence
(1+2=3)
So Blizzard pays Jay to advertise for WCIII with his song =P

Well, obviously, I know nothing about computer games so thanks for the enlightenment.

He didn't have to make such a horrible MV though.

yah. I notice how similar the songs were when i first heard Jay's cd, and after seeing the MV's, Unusually, they're quite similar. Maybe it's the director who did it, I don't think he's in charge of it.
