im not 100% sure on this but i think he said his favorite song right now was 3 nian 2 ban. and his ringtone on his cell is the song 3nian 2 ban too.

That's weird how reporters never ask Jay what his favorite song (that's not his) is.. You think they'd actually think of worthwihle questions by now.. but nope.. :dry: :happy:

And also funny how all of Jay's favorite songs listed above is his own work.. then again if I were Jay producing Jay music I'd like my own music best too since it's just, simply, the best. ;D

In fact, i think jay has quite a few songs which he perosnally likes..
i always hear him say, "..ben ren man xi huan de ge jiu shi (...) jue de man you yi si de.."
coz recently he was on some FM or smth, den he began to mention and recommend some songs.. guess i really dunno which song jay personally likes.. haha :D

I know he like Jacky Cheung songs, i saw it somewhere in this forum..
He said he sings them in KTV instead of his own songs; doesn't want to feel as if he is working. maybe he likes his own song but just that singing his own song will not make him as happy as singing jacky cheung's song

Actually, quite reliable. During his ynet.com chat with fans online, he said that out of all the songs he has written for others, he is most satisfied with Square of Prague.

i do recall jay mentioning that he was most satisfied with Prague Square in terms of his compositions back at that time. around march? :? i think what he meant was out of all the songs he had written around that time, he felt most satisfied with Prague Square. so, that might not necessarily be his personal fave song.

and i honestly believe that his "fave song" fluctuates. probably with the release with every new album. in all his recent interviews, he's mentioned the uniqueness of Year 3 Class 2 and Terraced Fields. so, it seems like they may be his current "faves". and of course, he had said that his current ringtone for his cell phone is Year 3 Class 2. but then he also liked Sunny Day and Her Eyelashes, which is probably why they were selected for his initial performances of songs from the ye hui mei album. and there's also Coward, which he thinks is so diao with kitty rapping in it. in essence, he basically likes all his compositions b/c they are songs that he's invested a lot of time in perfecting and he'd only bring the best to his fans. so, there's never a crappy song put out. plus, since he writes all of them, oftentimes his answer is that he likes every song, even though that might sound cheesy to some people. he probably thinks that if he didn't like the song, then why would he put it on an album for people to buy?

but like cici said, i'd be curious to know what is (are) his fave song(s) besides his own compositions. perhaps something by jacky cheung. perhaps something else. it's definitely a lil' more refreshing than asking him which song from his album does he like best.

Agreed... I don't mind waiting for his album cos I know it'd be quality stuff... I just can't stand some singers who relases album to earn $... I feel damn cheated for my money... I mean... Jay's album is like usper worth it... I enjoy it through and through... I don't even mind paying twice the amount to get it...

okay... back on topic... I think one's favourite song changes depending on mood, experience, stuff like that... I mean... few people can stick to one favourite song all their life...

Btw I think he mentioned that he likes to listen to Jolin's Shuo ai ni when he's driving... coz it's apparently cheery?!? hmmm :dry:

i thinks that's why even though fans download his songs we also buy his originals because there's so many worthwhile songs in each album - unlike most artistes where one is lucky if there's 3or 4 good songsin an album . -eg - black tangerin e- i htink it's over rated - there's only 3-4 good songs in it. - whereas yhm - each song is more enjoyable on repeated listening.

there's a radio program in hk (hosted by vani) and there's a segment where she'd get three friends/singers to choose three songs that they really like (put them into disc 1, 2 and 3)..and then listeners can vote during the show..which 'disc' they like...and towards the end of the show vani would reveal the friends/singers and the votes..the disc that has the most votes, listeners would get to hear that friend or singer explaining why he/she had chosen the 3 songs..
i was listening to the program one morning last week..and was so surprised when i heard j's voice..and no, he didn't win, he only got 3% of the total votes ! vani said if listeners knew that was jay's choice at the start he would have won (most definitely) .. :love:

I've never heard of him saying his favourite song is which song but from what i see he chooses fast jumpy songs to slow ballads. I suppose if he is to choose one ballad, he'll choose An Jing... it's just my guess

i think his favourite will differ time to time as new productions keep coming up.. and since he takes one year to produce an album, he must have like all of them! hmmm.. it was stated in [Grandeur D Major] that the song most meaningful to him is Shi Jie Mo Ri..

i remember in one video clip, jay said that he liked zhi zhan zhi shang the most if he had to choose. he said that he liked all of the songs, as he wouldn't put any songs he wasn't proud of in his cds. he said the meaning behind zhi zhan zhi shang was really meaningful and that it was special. something along this line. :) i remembered it quite clearly as it happened to be my favourite song too.
