^he was here in shanghai for the official sprite event..
cecilia helped me get information on his flight details back to korea so i went to the airport to see him off..
even though my dad was strongly against it hehe..but he flew overseas in the mornin so i sneaked out with the permission of my mum heheh..
so yeah i was there at the airport n i got him to sign two of my albums, Just Listen n Must listen..
we couldnt take photographs with him cos Mr.Lee said no..

well i wrote a detailed account on it in soompi..eventhough it was very brief (the meeting) i'm so glad i got to see him upclose..

What I've found out is that:

There is a summer festival thing at the Asia World Expo on Saturday 22nd July, 2006. Among the HK artists, Se7en has been invited to perform from this source (http://hk.news.yahoo.com/060611/12/1onx9.html). People who use Netvigator in HK can use their points to exchange for 2 tickets (and people are already auctioning their tickets off ._.) whereas other non member can use this as a guide to purchase tickets (on sale 20th June):

The place itself is really far, over on the island along with the airport. Around 12000 audience capacity... AND WE NEED A PAIR OF TICKETS.

YG Family, SE7EN'S respective company, has expressed online on the 13th, "After this week, SE7EN will suspend all his activites in Korea. We were planning to promote another title song, but because we want to achieve this bigger goal, we hope all fans can understand and forgive us."

They also said, "Because we weren't satisfied with the "밤새도록" music video with the new director, we decided to film it again with the director for 'Nan Arayo'. Although we have wasted alot of production money, we do not want to broadcast anything that we are unsatisfied with."

While SE7EN was promoting his third album, he was also in the mid-production of his fourth album. It is prearranged for him to release his fourth album in October of this year. The title song for the fourth album has already been chosen.

After the end of his activites on June 17th, SE7EN will be staying in the US for three months.

Se7en is ending his local activites to prepare his plan to enter the American market. Because of this, Se7en will be leaving for Los Angeles this June 23 and will stay in the US for 3 months. And around October, Se7en will be releasing a new album and will start again his activities in Korea.

hehe.. anyway... i'm just soooo happy...

I don't have the ability to go and see him whenever I feel like it, so moments like this - scheduled fan signing - is all that i could depend on to get up close to him. So having missed seeing him up close for the nth time, i didn't let this chance pass me by...

So, i went to Seoul as early as i could possibly can (okay, i got there at around 8:30 am... dang, why do i have to live outside Seoul?! haha...) and found a very very long line... shocking. Well, not really. Haha... Some of the people slept at the line, cos it's a first come first served thingy. >.<
We waited a very very long time, and for a while, i feared that i can't make it to the cut, cos i misunderstood the big banner hanging outside... -.-;; turns out it says that the store will give signed CDs to the first 100 customers. haha... i thought they'll only have 100 fans for the signing. Hehe, my poor korean. >.<

Anyway, so.. we waited for about 4 hours to get our numbers.. and then had lunch and then went back again to wait till 4 pm when we had to line up again. At around 5pm, the lines are getting more organized and so we just waited for the signing.

Finally, at around 5:30, se7en came in his van... my poor camera of course can't seem to get good shots but i still use it. Haha... anywho.. here's se7en getting off his van, he's the one wearing white. ^^

And so, at around 6:30.. it was finally my turn to come up the siging place... I was very nervous, my heart was beating fast.. I was rehearsing what I'll say to se7en cos i might just stare at him blankly and say stupid nonsensical stuff... haha... I got into the room and was still in line... and i was really very nervous cos it's my first time to see se7en way way up close! ^^ Then it was finally my turn.

I was facing se7en, he's in front of me!!! Really can't believe it. TvT

So i said, "저는 해외 팬이예요..." And then se7en goes, "Oh! 해외 팬! g------" (해외 (haewae) means foreign^^) ... I didn't catch what he said next, something starting with 'g', but i'm quite sure he didn't really say anything.... hehe.. just mumbled. And since i'm shocked by his reaction (i mean, se7en, speaking with me!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!), i wasn't really able to say anything but, "Yeah... yeah... " and smile crazily... Yepp, i was at a loss for words. Good thing se7en talked again and said, "So, what's your name?" (IN ENGLISH!!!~ ^^ ) then i went, "Oh, it's Paola. " Then se7en says, "Okay... (then goes to write my name... ^^) Then i remembered I have to tell him stuff that i practiced... Haha.. so i told him, "I gotta tell you this... you're a fantastic performer!" Then he shakes my hand and says "Thank You"... Then i had to leave, with a very very big smile on my face.


Definitely one of my happiest moments... It still seems like a dream to me... I'm dazed and still overwhelmed.

Too overwhelmed that's why I don't remember how goodlooking he was, how nice his smile was and how his hand felt like. Dang, really can't remember! >.< Hehe... Anyway, i just pray there will be a next time. ^^

YG Entertainment will hold a world tour in eight countries in the world. Se7en, Big Mama, Gummy, and many others will attend. To commemorate YG Family's 10th Anniversary, they have decided to hold a one-time big world tour.

On June 28th YG Entertainment said, "Other than a commemoration for YG Family's 10th Anniversary, this world tour is also the steppingstone to develop in the overseas market.

The tour will start at Seoul on August 19. September 8-10 will be at Osaka and Tokyo, Japan. October 18-21 will be at USA's Washington, New York, and Los Angeles. After the tour, a few countries might be added to the list.

YG expressed, "YG Family's tour will be held in 8-11 countries and is estimated to attract over 300,000 audiences." YG contains many well-known singers like Se7en, Big Mama, Gummy, Jinusean, 1TYM and many more. YG Family will have at least 100 individual participants.

On the 11th, on Se7en's webpage, he had posted a dance practice picture with himself topless in it. This brought many visits to his page because since debut, this is the first time Se7en had revealed his upper body.

It is usual for singers to take off their shirts on stage to bring up the atmosphere after a performance. Like Rain, he would always take off his shirt at his concerts that attracts many screams. But on the hand, Se7en never took off his shirt on stage. Most of the time he would just wear a no sleeve t-shirt.

The Miss Hong Kong candidates finally finished their twelve-day filming at Korea and finally returned to Hong Kong. Yesterday they danced with Korea's hot star Se7en for their mv. The girls jumped for joy when they saw Se7en.

Yesterday morning the 16 candidates were led by Chin Ka Lok for another day of filming at a gingseng field. After that, they went to Asia's biggest park and played with different kinds of flowers.

That day's plans were packed but although they were all tired, the candidates wanted to meet special guest Se7en. Even though they had to take a three-hour bus to meet him, they were willing to. When Se7en came out, it is like the fans meeting their idols. All of them couldn't stand still. Se7en and the candidates danced to his song, Passion. Yesterday Korean star Se7en 'raided' Hong Kong like a tornado. He is recently promoting himself but many problems hindered. Se7en's luggage with his undergarments and clothes had vanished. But Se7en still continued to smile to the fans and didn't mind that he was almost 'chest raided'.
Yesterday morning at 11, Se7en with six dancers and several staffs arrived at Hong Kong. But because one of the dancer had a fever, he was taken away to be questioned by the workers. Korean star Se7en has arrived at Hong Kong and last night he appeared on Jade Solid Gold with Soler, Stephanie Cheng, and others. Once he came on stage, the 200 Se7en fans screamed crazily. Popular singers Rain and Se7en meet in challenge this autumn in Korea's and Japan's music entertainment market.

Rain and Se7en will be releasing their singles together in Japan this September. Following that, both will return to Korea this October and releasing their 4th album. It is expected that both will kick up some competition in Japan and Korea's music industry.

The original plan only saw the simultaneous release of their album in Korea. However, release of Rain's Japanese single and Japanese album was pushed back to September from its original release date in August. This coincides with Se7en's Japanese single release date. Therefore, the challenge between these two will kick off in Japan, then to Korea's music market.

On Asian stages, Korean representative singers Rain and Se7en have always been compared against each other. Now that the two singers are finally standing on the stage at the same time, one can only imagine the whirlwind they'll kick up in Korea and Japan.

It is nearly like the novel "Around the World in 80 Days". Singer Se7en travelled to 7 countries in 9 days. In only one week, he had appearances in China, USA, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and back and forth. Se7en wanted to prepare for his debut in the USA so he went to the United States at the end of June. But suddenly, on July 15, he recieved an award which was to be accepted in China. "China Original Music Ranking Sprite Awards" could not be missed. Here, Se7en did not get less than 3 awards. The next day, he travelled to the USA but left again on the 19th to promote his album in Hong Kong. Two days later, he performed in Seoul for an awards show. He then went to Japan to shoot for his Japanese single cover. He only stayed in Japan for one day because he had another appearance in Hong Kong. The day after that, he then came back to America. This time, he would not be leaving there any time soon. He will only come back to Korea in mid-August for a concert.

After all, life has been a whirlwind of promotions and performances since he entered the scene after training for four years under his dynamic mentor Yang Hyun Suk.

This year especially, Se7en has been busy jetsetting the region to either plug his albums or receive awards.

During the MTV Asia Awards in Bangkok, he won the Favourite Artiste Korea award and made a strong impression with his sleek dance and signature handstand.

More recently, he stole some thunder from Cantopop King Aaron Kwok as a guest star for the latter's concert in Hong Kong.

It was only after wrapping up the promotions for his latest album, 24-Se7en, that he was able to leave for LA.

And it looks like he is enjoying the break.

After all, he gets to relax and go grocery shopping at the mall opposite his house - an impossibility back in Seoul where he is a household face.

He shares his new home with two male co-workers, and he joked that his room is getting messy.

He cooks too, but only simple dishes, he wrote.

MENTOR POSTS CLIP

While he is away, his mentor Hyun Suk surprised fans by posting online a video of a topless - and muscular - Se7en rehearsing in a dance studio.

The older man wrote that Se7en would be angry if he saw the clip, but as long as fans like it, 'even if I get scolded it's worth it'.

Apparently, Se7en is fiercely loyal to his mentor. The latter was part of the popular 1990s dance-pop group Seo Taiji & Boys, but later founded his own company, YG Entertainment, and groomed R&B stars like Wheesung, 1Tym and Lexy.

When Wheesung left the company months ago, Hyun Suk was reportedly so affected that Se7en decided to renew his contract a year in advance to cheer him up.

Together, both are working hard to establish YG America and make inroads for Se7en's impending Hollywood debut.

A concert world tour is also lined up, as YG celebrates its 10th anniversary. Featuring all YG artistes, it will begin in Seoul on 19 Aug, then move to Japan and the US.

Intimate Pictures of Seven Go on Mobile-Only Release

August 7, 2006

Previously unreleased pictures of the singer Seven will be made public in the form of a mobile photo collection through mobile service provider M5425, his agency said.

Fans will have an opportunity to see photos not contained in his mini photo book �gSE7EN�fs Diary.�h The album features scenes from the singer�fs life around the clock and was published as part of marketing activities to promote his third album released on July 14.

M5425 said the mobile collection features never-before-seen images, from Seven asleep to practicing for a concert, which were selected �gconsidering the fact that cell phones are a personal space,�h according to the agency.

Meanwhile, the K-pop star is in the U.S. to prepare for his fourth album and to continue his assault on overseas markets. He will return home soon to participate in the YG World Tour concerts which start on Aug. 19.

HE may be staying in Los Angeles now, but that does not stop K-popster Se7en from making frequent trips to Hong Kong.

Last week, the 22-year-old was invited to tour Disneyland with his dancers, much to the pleasant surprise of many tourists.

He said his favourite ride was the Space Mountain roller coaster.

South Korean pop singer SE7EN's second Mandarin album, "Qi Xi," will reportedly be released on Wednesday, adding an extra romantic flavor to the second Chinese Valentine's Day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar this year. 　　

The cover single "Qi Xi" is the Chinese version of the South Korean hit "COME BACK PART 2." Chinese mainland lyricist Cui Ru penned the words for the song. 　　

It is the rising Korean star's third Mandarin song since he launched his music career in China last year. 　　

SE7EN's Chinese record company, 21-East, revealed the singer was not satisfied with being just a pop idol and had also participated in the production of seven songs on the new album.

Seven Poised to Enter Billboard Chart Next Year

Singer Seven will release a single early next year with the purpose of entering the U.S. Billboard chart and emerging as a globally renowned star.

According to YG Entertainment, which opened an office in Los Angeles, USA in April, Seven will announce a single with English vocals early next year to establish his presence in the American music market. A person from YG Entertainment said the singer plans to release three or four singles and a full-length album in the United States next year, and that the new songs will be similar in style to those of top American artists Usher and Justin Timberlake.

YG Entertainment America has hired several American music producers to ensure Seven’s success in the United States, and even chose Morgan Carey, the brother of pop diva Mariah Carey, as its partner because Carey is known to have a vast human network in the American music market.

Seven’s agency says the singer will continue to make all kinds of endeavors to reap positive results in the United States, following his successful career in the Japanese music market, where his three singles and one full-length album made it to the top-ten of the Oricon music chart.

Singer Kim Beom-soo is the only South Korean artist to make it to the Billboard chart so far. Kim’s song “Hello Good-bye Hello,” sung with English vocals, took the 51st spot on the Billboard Single Sales 100 chart in December 2001 through a record label that his agency established in the United States. Another South Korean singer, Mink, who debuted in the United States via a Japanese record company, topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in March, making headlines both in Korea and Japan.

Singer Se7en, resets Japanese activity with new single

On September 7, Se7en will visit Japan to start his activities on his new single album "I Wanna".

"Popular Korean singer Se7en 'resets' and 'enters' Japanese activity with this new single album", according to the Japanese newspaper San Kei Sports.

Se7en will release his single "I Wanna" on the 13th. The single will focus on Se7en's hip hop and R&B styles.

Se7en will be in YG Family's 10th Anniversary concerts in Osaka on the 8th and in Tokyo on the 10th. On September 11, Se7en will be performing in a television program "Waratde Iitomo".

R&B singer Crystal Kay and hip hop duo M-Flo will be performing in YG Family's Tokyo concert. Since all the tickets have been sold out, YG decided to add another concert in Tokyo.

Singer Se7en, who will release a new album next month, will give a solo concert October 28 after four months off.

The concert will serve as the finale of the 2006 Seoul Music Festival, which kicks off October 8 for a 22-day run. The festival, the second of its kind, will feature various artists who will stage performances in succession to revive the stagnated domestic music industry.

The festival received a favorable response from audiences last year, as they were able to see the performances of singers Lee Seung-chul, Shin Seung-hoon, Rain, BoA and TVXQ for 35,000 won per ticket and enjoy beer free of charge.

Se7en’s upcoming concert carries special significance because the singer is preparing to debut in the United States and plans to focus on his overseas activities in the near future rather than perform in Korea.

Last month, Se7en enraptured Japanese audiences when he performed in Tokyo and Osaka as part of the World Tour marking the 10th anniversary of YG Entertainment, his agency.

At the upcoming concert, the singer will sing songs from his new album and previous hit songs.

An authorised personnel from the production company of the same drama said on the 16th “Some days ago, the production team and Se7en’s management met at a place in Seoul and confirmed the contract.” The leading role of “Goong 2” has sparked much talk and still is now that it is verified.

So far,in the many drama and movie offers, he wasn’t going to have acting activities. But at the end of last month, when “Who will star in “Goong” season 2?” news was out, of course all the Korean fans and copyright puchase rights from overseas came rushing in, so the topic would not die.

As for Se7en, who burns with the desire to perform, will show his own style and charm in “Goong 2”.

It has been decided that top star SE7EN will take the male lead role in the series "Palace 2". An authorized personnel from the production outfit Group Eight relayed this decision through a phone call with Joynews24 on the morning of October 16.

The authorized personnel even stated that SE7EN is already a great dancer and they anticipate that he will perform well as an actor.

"Palace 2" is about a common man who did not know that he comes from a Royal family.

Singer Se7en will take on the challenge of starring in the series “Palace 2”.

Se7en, who will be having his very first acting role, said it would be a great challenge to act the role of “Lee Hoo”, and therefore decided on acting the part. (@_@ ?!)

On the 17th, YG company’s affiliated brokerage company officials (?) said in an interview, “Se7en has many understandings (like views and ways of thinking) on the “Palace 2”, especially the character “Lee Hoo”, who is a person without the ‘prince disease’ (I think it means that he isn’t rich etc), but is someone who has faced many hardships in the beginning to be able to enter the palace. This role of incredible humanity and character is what attracted him and caused him to make the decision to act.

Throughout the series, he is the “Lee Hoo” working in a Chinese restaurant and has no idea that he is a descendant from royalty and then becomes the “Lee Hoo” who enters the palace gates.

Because of YG Family’s world tour in the US, Se7en will return to South Korea on the 28th. Filming is expected to start on December the 1st.

“Palace 2” will be fimed in Kyonggi Huacheng (?) and is expected to finish filming early next year and then broadcasted.

Se7en to officially debut in the USA with Usher's producers

Se7en has signed a contract with the producers of Usher to debut in the US. The Korean singer, who is at the moment with YG Family for their 10th Anniversary concert in the US, announced his intention to promote his music in the US during a press conference last October 16 (local time) at the Imagine Asia TV Theater in New York. The press conference attracted the interest of more than 20 networks like NHK TV, IATV, MKTV, FujiTV, New York 1, Daily Sun, among others. With the way things are going, Se7en will be the first Korean singer to officially debut in the US.

After the confirmation of the decision for Se7en to lead in “Goong 2”, many are worried that he is incapable to star in it.

Se7en, who filmed the title track for his 4th album a few days ago, acted out a hot and passionate love scene – one to the extent that it cannot be broadcasted.

On the morning of the 23rd, Yang Hyun-suk, representative of the YG company, expressed Se7en’s current state (well-being) on the homepage, said: “Knowing of his upcoming acting activities, and maybe to prepare for them, Se7en filmed a kiss and love scene with the female star (a model graduate) in the MV, and unexpectedly, Se7en showed a hot performance.” Yang also wrote: “Fans will receive a shock from this, and will worry.”

Other members of the YG entertainment group flew home on the 23rd after finishing their performances in America Washington. However, Se7en will finish his own business, recording for his upcoming US single which will debut in the US Spring of next year.

The single will be produced by Mark Shimmel who also worked with those like Usher, Tony Braxton and other famous singers and Rich Harrison, who worked on the 2004 Grammy Award winning “Crazy In Love” by Beyonce.

The other day, Shimmel met Se7en at the New York performance and expressed that he thought “it will go well”.

Se7en’s 4th album “Se7olution” will be released on November the 1st and then begin activities. The title track “Ra Ra Ra/La La La” is a slow tune, in order to show off Se7en’s strong vocals.

Se7en, refrains from dancing for 4th album

SE7EN's 4th album entitled "SE7OLUTION" will be released on November 1. Morning of October 23, Yang Hyun Suk, YG Entertainment's director, left a message in the official homepage saying that for Se7en's 4th album, the singer will refrain from dancing.

Se7en's 4th album title track is called "La La La", a slow tempo song. "It will be surprising because it is a slow tempo song but it will be more surprising that Se7en will refrain from dancing", Yang revealed.

Since his 2nd album title track "Passion" to digital single "Crazy" and finally for his 3rd album "I Know", he has exhibited his dancing skills and strong hip hop rhythm.

"For the 4th album, rather than sowcasing something that is pleasing to the eyes, it will captivate ears and hearts. A showcase is also not planned for the 4th album", Yang conveyed.

"La La La" was recorded in the US, where Se7en stayed for 2 months to learn English. The 2 months were not enough to learn English. However, within those months, Se7en was able to record 3 songs with 1TYM's Teddy. "La La La" is one of the songs he recorded in the US", Yang shared.

The title song "La La La" and "It is good", which were written and composed by BIG MAMA member Lee Young Hyun, will be simultaneously promoted.

The 2-part music video is already finished filming and will be released on November 1.

Se7en Takes Traditional Etiquette Lessons

Singer Se7en is receiving etiquette education for his first drama challenge.

Se7en, who has returned after completing the YG family US world tour, will be performing on the 28th and 29th and then he will start his schedules for Goong 2.

Se7en, who has been casted as the lead for MBC drama Goong season 2, has started to prepare for filming with receiving etiquette education which is needed for royal lifestyle.

Someone from Goong's production team said that "Official script reading and etiquette education is needed for the leads ", "The lessons will take place at Woon hyun goong which is located at Seoul's Jongno. Etiquette education, traditional education, tea ceremony education etc will be taught in 4 hour blocks"

Also, Se7en's horseriding ability needs to be built up. For the first half of the drama it is ok if he struggles with it but in the 2nd half, he needs to show elegant and perfect horseriding ability.

"Other actors have already started horseriding lessons at the horseriding place in Suwon. The lessons are in 2 hour blocks with 5 lessons"

Hwang PD, who will be returning to seoul on the 27th after liasoning and filming around the country, will be meeting up with the leads to explain the characters, test cameras etc. Actual filming will start in mid november.

Singing, dancing and now acting: Is there anything that Korean pop idol Se7en cannot do?

Since his debut in 2003, Se7en's vocal and choreographic talents have been celebrated across Asia. The first male solo under YG Entertainment to break into the Japanese market in 2004, Se7en won enormous popularity in Japan and Thailand with remarkable album sales and successful promotion tours.

Not satisfied with resting on his regional laurels, Se7en is planning to take his special talents across the Pacific to the United States as well as finding time to promote his upcoming album and take acting lessons for an upcoming TV drama.

l Making inroads into the U.S. music industry

Se7en's agency YG Entertainment said on its website this week that "Se7en went to Washington to record his first single, which is scheduled to be released in the spring next year in the United States."

The agency said it signed a contract with Mark Shimmel Music to jointly produce Se7en's single and support his entertainment activities on the U.S. soil. Shimmel is famous for discovering world famous pop artist Usher and producing the records of R&B pop artists such as Tony Braxton and TLC.

Se7en's single album in the United States will be produced by Rich Harrison, the Grammy Award winner responsible for diva Beyonce Knowles' smash hit "Crazy in Love."

"In the past, it was very difficult to have an opportunity to present a Korean singer in the American music industry but fortunately, we met a good partner," said Yang Hyun-suk, the founder and owner of YG Entertainment, who wields enormous influence in the Korean pop industry working with famous pop stars like Wheesung and Gummy.

"After YG Family's New York concert, Mark Shimmel said it will work out well. I'm happy because it seems like one of the best U.S. musical business talents recognized Se7en's ability."

l Promoting a new album "Se7volution"

With preparations for his debut in the United States moving into overdrive, Se7en's local schedule will also be hectic, focusing on promotion of his new album, "Se7volution" - coined from "Se7en" and "evolution - set for a Nov. 1 release.

The title track "La La La" is a slow tempo pop number in which Se7en will refrain from dabbling in too much on-stage choreography. The dazzling dancer with the innocent face used to be a drawcard with Korea's youth audience. But now, he is looking in another direction.

"Because we have put so much emphasis on strong hip-hop beats in Se7en's previous albums, it's time for a change to good melodies and vocal sounds," said YG Entertainment.

Out of 14 tracks in the album, Se7en composed two songs and wrote lyrics for several other tracks as well. The two-part music videos for the title track "La La La" are already finished and will be released to coincide with the album's launch.

l Drama acting in "The Palace Season 2"

With his fourth album coming soon, Se7en is to take a lead role in an upcoming local TV drama "The Palace Season 2." With the drama, Se7en will also make his on-screen debut in the Asian drama market.

"The Palace Season 2" depicts a young man who works at a Chinese restaurant, not knowing he is a descendant of a royal family. Later, the extroverted guy enters into the palace to be crowned as king.

The producer of "The Palace Season 2," Hwang In-roe, said he picked Se7en for the role because the performer's personality is known to be humble and hard working.

However, some of drama fans have been vehemently opposed to the idea of casting Se7en, citing that Se7en has no acting experience and will deprive other newly recruited KBS actors of their chance to debut in dramas.

"These days TV drama producers cast only celebrity singers or comedians because they are preoccupied with TV ratings rankings. But it is irritating to see their poor acting," wrote an internet user who posted a comment on-line after reading news reports of Se7en being cast for the drama.

On the other hand, some fans of the previous drama "The Palace Season 1" are posting encouraging messages on drama's website bulletin board, saying: "The role fits well with Se7en," "I'm looking forward to his acting" and "season 2 will be as enjoyable as season 1."

Se7en once vowed he would never cross over into acting and remain focused on singing as a devoted pop artist, but his change of heart seems to stem from seeing other Korean performers become Asian megastars through the influence of "hallyu," or the Korean Wave.

"To continue the popularity of the Korean culture in Asia, drama acting is somewhat inevitable," YG Entertainment said.

Indeed, singer Rain, who recently showcased a premiere of his upcoming world tour in Seoul, is a good example of attaining global fame through acting in a drama that spread across the whole Asian region. Rain's popularity in Asia soared after acting in the 2003 drama "Sang-doo, Let's Go to School" and the 2004 drama "Full House."

Se7en will start shooting "The Palace Season 2" in early November and the drama will be aired on MBC from January next year. He is now in the United States recording his first single, which is scheduled to be released in February next year.

Rain and Se7en. They are the same but are taking different paths that are attracting a lot of attention.

Currently, both are conquering the Asian market and are looking forward to take over the world.

Se7en has already announced his plans for an official US debut. Last October 17, at the New York Imagine Asia TV Theater, Se7en had a press conference and opened his plan to release a US single in early next year.

Rain, on the other hand, has not revealed a concrete US debut plan.

February of this year, Rain held a successful concert at the New York Madison Garden and expressed his plan to debut in the US soon. Last October 11, during his World Tour Premiere "Rain's Coming" press conference, Rain expressed that he has already prepared a lot of things for his American debut. He revealed his strategy of securing a firm ground in Asia first before entering the US market.

They are not only similar because they are both singers. They have also both entered the realm of acting. Although they are now in the same field, they still show their distinctions.

Rain's movie "I'm a Cyborg but it's ok", which is set to be released this December, is already receiving a lot of interest from overseas officials.

Se7en has now also entered an acting career. According to YG Entertainment's official, his drama performance will be filler for next year since Se7en will be away from Korea and will be prioritizing his US debut.

Two male singer of Korea are both going to debut with the help influential people of American music. Although they are the same, interests are becoming even larger on whether they will be successful or not in their chosen different paths.

Se7en, who will have his comeback on November 1, suddenly performed his new songs from his 4th album.

Last October 29, Se7en, who held the last show for the "2006 Seoul Music Festival", sang parts of his 4th album "Se7olution"'s title track "La La La" and "I will do well". "I will do well",an R&B ballad, was composed by BIG MAMA member Lee Young Hyun and will be promoted together with "La La La".

"For this album, I participated more. I am personally satisfied with this album. On November 4, I will start my activities", Se7en said.

"This 4th album will showcase more of Se7en's vocal power through a slow tempo song entitled "La La La". There is no planned showcase as well", according to YG Entertainment.

Se7en performed his hit tracks "Come Back to Me", "Crazy", "Passion", "I Know", "I Wanna", "Last of Diary" as well as other songs in the concert. 5,000 people came to watch him.

The Palace Season 2 depicts a young man who works in a Chinese restaurant, not knowing he is a descendant of a royal family. Later, the extroverted guy enters into the palace to be crowned as king.

The producer of The Palace Season 2, Hwang In-roe, said he picked Se7en for the role because the performer is known to be humble and hardworking.

However, some drama fans have vehemently opposed the idea of casting Se7en, citing that he has no acting experience and will deprive other newly recruited KBS actors of their chance to act.

Se7en once vowed he would never cross over into acting and will remain focused on singing, but his change of heart seems to stem from seeing other Korean performers become Asian megastars through the influence of hallyu (the Korean Wave).

“To continue the popularity of the Korean culture in Asia, drama acting is somewhat inevitable,” YG Entertainment said.

Indeed, singer Rain, who recently showcased a premiere of his upcoming world tour in Seoul, is a good example of attaining global fame through acting in a drama that spread across the whole Asian region. Rain’s popularity in Asia soared after acting in the 2003 drama Sang Doo! Let’s Go to School and the 2004 drama Full House.

Se7en will start shooting The Palace Season 2 early this month. He is now in the United States recording his first single, which is scheduled to be released in February next year. – The Korea Herald / Asia News Network.

Se7olution Conquers On & Offline Charts

Se7olution is conquering the online and offline charts in just 4 days from release. At the moment it is No1 at the present time as well as weekly Hanteo chart. On the offline charts at the large scale stores such as Hottracks, shinara etc, it is leading the chart by far (compared to no2). As well as this, on Melon, cyworld, Bugs, he is also number one and this proves again se7en's power with real album sales.

It's been calculated that in the 4 days so far, 41595 copies have been sold- 18334 on the first day, 7804, 8512, 6945 respectively on the following days.

In addition, there was 50000 copies preordered already, which placed him no 1 on the preorder chart.

Dongwookie thinks that although today's comeback was not his 100%, he is satisfied with it. He says he will make up for the rest in the activities coming up.

A short preview of tomrrow night's ep of Hidden Camera was shown on SBS and someone who saw it said that he was wearing some white robe thing (u know like the ones ppl wear when they play taekwondo or sth)

About today's music core performance.... lots of bits and pieces here and there... first of all the recording was meant to start at 11am but actually was lately and started at 12pm... and they recorded I will do well first.... then afterwards they came out and went back in for the recording of La la la.... so both songs were recorded prior tot he live broadcast... During the live broadcast as always, dongwookie just stood on the stage and danced while the vid was being broadcasted.... i dont any se7en fans just went for the live show... fortunately... because it's rare for a comeback to have both parts recorded.... for the recording of I will do well, all the fans went in and he rehearsed it once first then did the recording twice... ppl said that it took REALLY long to set up the orchestra and everything...

The response to today's comeback even amongst non se7en fans is HUMONGOUS.... after the airing of the show, "se7en music core comeback" or similar type of words were in the top 10 of the search words on big search engines such as daum and naver... especially "i wil do well"... the reponse to this song seems to be even greater than la la la... seems like many ppl are surprised/shocked that such a ballad singer thing(having an orchestra in the background) would be seen in a se7en performance.

Apparently nearly all of YG went to MBC today for his comeback (as well as BB's performance) and some fan said that YG had a really satisfied smile on his face and clapped witht he audience for dongwookie's performance.

On November 2, at 12 noon at the Seoul Hilton Hotel, Se7en held his 4th album "Se7olution" press conference. "I am not afraid of failure", Se7en said.

"I really want to go on with my acting career and American debut. Because I like want I am doing, I am passionate about them", "When I debuted, I joked about debuting in the US. Even in my imagination, I did not know how that would happen. But after 4 years since my debut, it seems that my dream will actually come true", Se7en expressed when he was asked if he is confident about his acting and US debut.

Mark Shimmel, who has worked with several top pop singers in America and Rich Harrison, who has produced Beyonce's "Crazy in Love", are in charge of Se7en's 1st US single album.

11/13 Skull of Stony Skunk Makes Solo Debut in America

Skull (real name Cho Sung-jin), a member of the reggae duo Stony Skunk, will make his solo debut in the United States.

In a message posted on the Web site of the duo’s agency, YG Entertainment, the agency’s CEO, Yang Hyun-seok, wrote that Stony Skunk’s advancement to the American market has been promoted by Morgan Carey, the brother of pop star Mariah Carey, and that only Skull will debut in America.

He also added that Skull, who is currently residing in the United States, has been participating in various concerts to establish ties with local musicians and famous DJs, because that is an important part of the local underground music world.

Yang also wrote that another top Korean artist, Seven, has successfully finished the recording of his first single album. Yang said that many American record companies offered to sign contracts with the singer after they heard his songs that were presented by Mark Shimmel, who is promoting Seven’s debut in America. Landing a contract is important because Seven will also soon release a full-length album, and the firm that signs a contract with him will fund his promotional activities and concerts in the United States.

Seven will continue to perform his new songs “La La La” and “I’ll Do My Best” through the end of this year, and early next year will release his new songs “Can You Feel Me” and “Again.” His concert that was originally slated for the end of this year was postponed to early next year due to the filming of the second season of the MBC TV drama “Princess Hours,” in which Seven will debut as an actor.

After listening to the album a bit more and watching a few performances.. I think I am finally accepting the album! Se7en's music is something I've always enjoyed but I've been really caught up with another talented star *ahem* in the last few months :shifty:

Anyways, I saw his Music Bank performance of "La la la" and "I Will Do" and I really like it. These songs really do bring out his voice :happy:

Se7en's 4th album music video "La La La" uncut kissing scene was broadcasted and made his fans angry (?) and sentimental.

Se7en's uncut kissing scene, which was aired at MTV Korea "Making the Video" last November 11 is now a hot topic in Internet boards like "bestiz" and "bestdresser".

Last November 11, cable channel MTV Korea broadcasted the uncut kissing scene version of Se7en's "La La La" music video, which agitated Netizens.

The kissing scene has become the most talked about portion of Se7en's 4th album music video "La La La". Se7en passionately kissed the model Song Joo inside a limousine car.

According to YG Entertainment, the label of Se7en, the uncut kissing scene was not from YG. After examining the video, it was concluded that it was taken with the use of a hidden camera by MTV. Initially, YG Entertainment resisted airing the uncut kissing scene but after discussing the issue with MTV, they have decided to air it for the reasons that it was not done with malice and that the quality of the video is bad.

"Rain will be busy preparing for his world tour next month that it would be difficult for the singer to attend year-end awards", revealed a JYP official on November 14.

Rain will not be attending this year's first event, Mnet KMTV "music Festival" ceremonies. Rain will end his 4th album activities this November and will start preparations for his world tour.

"Rain will tour for 6 months and must save his physical strength. Rain will be having his concert in Las Vegas in December that it will be impossible for him to attend year-end awards", a JYP official expressed.

On December 15 and 16, Rain will have his Seoul performances. He will be holding 35 concerts in 12 countries in 6 months.

After the Seoul performances, Rain will immediately fly to America for choreography practices.

Se7en and Rain, big stars of Korean music, will be a great loss in year-end awards.

Year-end awards are criticized because they are turning likely "useless" because of Internet popularity polls that make awards a "click battle".

Lee Hyo-ri will not attend year-end awards and even "Asia's star" BoA, who did not release a Korean album this year, has no obligations to attend the awards.

Top stars not attending year-end awards is already becoming a worry.

Se7en performed his 4th album title track "La La La" on today's MBC "Show Music Core".

"I will remove the dance singer image", Se7en announced when he came back with his 4th album. The singer wants to appeal to the deepest emotions of the listener with his voice.

However, he did not forget about dancing which is one of his forte. He was able to satisfy the fans's ears and also their eyes with his controlled dance.

Several favorable comments like "Se7en did a perfect live performance that it could be mistaken as a lip sync" were posted in online community boards after Se7en's performance.

"Palace 2" new title : "Palace S/Goong S"

"Palace 2" was decided to be now called as "Palace S".

On November 20, Group Eight, the production unit of "Palace 2", announced that the title of the series is now "Palace S".

According to Group Eight, the reason why it was necessary to change the title was because the season 2 has new characters and new story and not just because of the copyright issues.

Group Eight expressed that the title has several meanings. "Palace S"'s "S" stands for new start (Start), special story (Special), original drama spin-off (Spin-Off) and the secret that surrounded who will play the lead role - Se7en (Secret).

"Palace S" is planned to be broadcasted on January 10, 2007.

What is ingigayo?

Inkigayo (or Ingigayo, depending on how you prefer to romanise it) is a music show on SBS. It's just like all the other popular main music performance shows on the other channels - MBC's Show Music Core, KM's Show Music Tank, KBS's Music Bank, etc. ^^ Basically artists just perform on them. =D And they also have the Mutizen award there.

Wow~~ MC Mong really did go through quite a bit of competition to snatch the Mutizen @ Inki!!! =P

Children's faces lighted up when top star Se7en came out of the curtain of the piano room.

Last November 25, Se7en, who supported the piano lessons of kids who want to learn how to play the instrument but cannot because of their difficult conditions, visited the Seoul Myeonmokdong Irye Piano School.

Se7en, "the angel", supported the 1 year piano lessons of three kids at the Seoul Myeonmokdong Irye Piano School.

In his visit, he played on the piano the "chopstick march", "Bayer" and "Chereuni". He also sang with the kids the children's song "Agiyeomso". "Fulfill your dream", the message Se7en gave to the children.

The children who received Se7en's support are from the low-income families of Myeonmokdong.

Children and adults in the neighborhood gathered in front of the window of the piano school. The children looked enviously as the kids played piano with Se7en while the adults looked curiously at Se7en, who suddenly appeared in the piano school.

"I did not have an opportunity and I regretted it. When I was young, I was not able to take piano lessons. Now, I want to give children the opportunity to learn", Se7en promised.

According to YG Entertainment, Se7en helped secretly and this is the first time that Se7en came out in the open. The reason why Se7en came out is because he wanted more people to participate.

Se7en spent approximately 1 hour in the school. Se7en gave messages of hope to the children, took pictures with them and gave them his autographed 4th album. He also promised them that they will be invited in his year-end concert which made the children even more pleased.

"Eagerly learn the piano", Se7en, who is currently busy with his drama "Palace S", greeted as he left the place.

Se7en and Big Bang in "YG Family Special Show" Goes on Air

The MTV K's feature show on YG Family entitled "YG Family Special Show", which was recorded last October 17, is finally broadcasted in the entire USA.

"YG Family Special Show", which was shot at the MTV studio in New York Time Square, features Se7en, BIG BANG, Gummy, Jinusean. From November 28 (local time), MTV channel broadcasts the show throughout America. Korean Americans and Americans will be able to see Se7en's "I Know", Gummy's "We Should Have Stayed As Friends" and BIG BANG's "La La La" live performances.

MBC drama "Palace S" hero Se7en performs the role of atmosphere maker in the shooting site.

"Se7en's character is good and is very enthusiastic. He shares ideas during production", said a Group Eight personnel.

The production is currently shooting the 4 episodes and will finish a minimum of 6 episodes before the drama's broadcast. On December 15, they plan to shoot in the Gyeonggi-do set.

An official stated that they recognize the seriousness of the copyright issue and the production company will soon express its position on the matter.

Singer Se7en will sing duet with American singer Amerie for her new album “Because I Love It,” which will be released next March. He will sing “Take Control” with her and may appear in a music video as well. The two began working together from early this year.

YG Entertainment, Seven’s agency, said Friday that the half-Korean singer had wanted to find a Korean singer as her duet partner and suggested that Se7en sing a duet with her upon seeing him perform in Asia. “She is also considering shooting a music video with him after watching his music videos,” it added.

Born to a Korean mother and African-American father, Amerie is an R&B singer. She lived in many nations where her farther was stationed as a soldier when she grew up, and studied English literature at Georgetown University in the U.S. Since she made her debut in 2002 with the album “All I Have,” she has become quite successful, with every one of her albums making the billboard top 10.

Se7en, enters hospital suffering from overwork and enteritis

Top star se7en has been overworked and even suffered enteritis (inflammation of the intestines), for which he has been admitted to hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

During the filming of Goong S on the 16th, he fainted and was admitted to hospital

Se7en's company YG entertainment stated "On the 16th after MBC's SHow music core, se7en could not win over enteritis and overwork and was admitted to seoul's sang do dong central university hospital. "

On the 15th, se7en complained of a stomachache and went to the hospital to get some treatment. Because of the need for him to go on Music core and film drama Goong S, he received simple treatment and left the hospital.

The hospital advised se7en to stay in hospital to receive treatment for 3-4 days but for the filming of drama Goong S which is going to be shown in january, he will be leaving the hospital on the morning of the 17th.

YG says "Recently, se7en has not been able to rest due to his 4th album activities and drama filming which caused his condition. Actually he should be staying in hospital on the 17th to receive treatment but se7en said "It is an important filming schedule for the drama and i must participate in the filming"

Se7en abandons staying in hospital for drama filming

Gasoo se7en has been exhausted with enteritis. At present he is receiving treatment at a seoul university hospital but because of drama filming on the 17th, he will be leaving the hospital and this shows his strong will to act.

Se7en complained that his deteriorating condition on the 15th and said that he didnt feel well inside. He went directly to the hospital and it was suspected he has enteritis. But because of show music core and drama filming, his physical state worsened and after show music core he was admitted to hospital.

Se7en stated that from yesterday that he didnt feel well inside. He thought it was indigestion and had his hand 'pricked' (koreans believe to relieve indigestion u prick ur finger to release the dark blood) but his conditoin worsened afterwards. So he went to the hospital and it was suspected that he had enteritis. Because of se7en's stubborness, he came out of the hospital for show music core and after that finished, e went back to the hospital to get treatment.

The filming of Goong S on the 17th will take place on an island and because the boat to the island will only leave once a week, se7en is forcing himself to do the filming. Although Goong S's team is showing concern, se7en's determination is too strong and it seems like that there is no other way but to film tomorrow.

The hospital advises se7en to receive 3-4 days treatment in hospital but se7en is being stubborn and insists on filming.

Se7en, "Palace S" shooting finished safely

Se7en safely finished shooting "Palace S" even though he has enteritis.

Last December 16, Se7en fell ill because of enteritis and was rushed to the hospital. He was recommended to rest for 3~4 days to recover but because of his will to shoot "Palace S", he chose to leave the hospital on December 17 at 7 am to go to Incheon for the drama's shoot.

"I did not feel good in the morning and many were worried. It was really hard. But I fear that the shooting will be discontinued", Se7en conveyed.

Se7en continued that although there was pain, he was immersed to his acting and the shooting ended safely. At 7:30 pm, he is scheduled to perform at the "Share Love Concert".

Today's scene was about Se7en and Song Baekkyoung competing in the delivery of jjajangmyeon.

"I know that it is necessary for me to rest but my will is so strong. I am very passionate when it comes to music and acting", Se7en said.

After his performance in the music program he will stop by the hospital for a check up then have his rest. His schedules on December 18 will push through.

Se7en, who was hospitalized for acute enteritis has left the hospital.

Today, December 17, at 7 am, Se7en left the Seoul University Hospital and headed straight to the Incheon filming site of "Palace S". After his "Palace S" shoot, he is planned to participate in a music program.

After performing in "Show! Music Core", he was rushed to the hospital because of his ill condition. But because of his will not to abandon the shooting of "Palace S", he left the hospital after some treatment.

Se7en's scene today is with Song Baekkyoung "delivering jjajangmyeon".

In addition to his "Palace S" schedule, Se7en will also participate in the "Share Love Concert" at 6 pm at the MBC broadcasting center. It is still unknown whether he will go to the hospital or at home to rest after his engagements.

It was recommended for Se7en to rest for 3~4 days. However, since he left the hospital at 7 am to shoot "Palace S" and later attend the "Share Love Concert", his health condition is a worry.

The concept of this latest poster is "in the imperial family where tradition is everything (is everywhere), the prince appears from a Chinese restaurant".

Because of this, their digity of the royalty explodes as the prince Se7en sits on the thrown. From the picture, it can be seen him wearing jeans and sneakers, with a headphone around his neck and a manga in his hands and a personality giving off the feeling of him having the liveliness and youthful enthusiasm of having 2007 in front of him.

Broadcasting starts on the 10th.

K-pop star Se7en, with his signature upside-number-seven dance move, has proven that he can sing and dance. He now faces a daunting question: Can he act? He has taken on the daunting task of playing the new lead role of the television drama ``Kung (Palace) S,’’ a sequel to the widely popular original that aired last year on MBC.

The 22-year-old is his usual cheerful and positive self, when he talks about his hopes for the new drama.

``I really enjoyed watching the `Kung’ series _ its interesting story, the beautiful scenes. But because it was such a huge success, I felt a lot of pressure in the beginning,’’ Se7en said Thursday during a news conference at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul. ``But I hope the audience will watch `Kung S’ without comparing the two as it is a totally different new work.’’

The only similarity between the two is that they take place in a palace, he said.

Based on a popular Korean comic series, the MBC TV drama ``Kung’’ is a story about fictionalized contemporary royal family in Korea.

The original revolved around an ordinary high school girl (played by Yoon Eun-hye), who learns about royal traditions when she marries a prince (Joo Ji-hoon).

In the sequel, Se7en plays a 20-year-old Kang Hu, a Chinese food deliveryman who finds out that he is one of the king’s closest relations. He eventually succeeds the king.

The series is the singer’s first outing as an actor. Director Hwang In-roe said that he cast the K-pop super star because he needed a new actor who could break away from the image of the lead actor in the original.

Se7en originally planned to focus on acting during weekdays and singing during weekends, but he changed his mind to keep focusing on the drama to make the best out of it.

``I didn’t rule out acting or anything. I thought I would star in a drama and challenge myself if the role is just right for me. I like my funny and cheerful character in the drama,’’ he said.

But after the drama, Se7ven plans to develop his career as a singer. He will sing a duet with American pop singer Amerie for her first single album, which will be released March next year.

Se7en, in real life, is much of the cheerful person with positive thinking, as his role in the drama. The piece of advice that the director had for the singer was ``Just do as you would do in your real life,’’ Se7en said.

The singer’s skill in taekwondo helped him with action scenes. He likes riding ``anything with wheels,’’ so riding the motorcycle in the drama was not a problem.

``I shot almost 100 percent of all the action and fighting scenes myself without a stuntman as well as those involving me riding a bike. The only exceptions are when I had to shoot the scenes where I had to show off brilliant skateboard skills,’’ Se7en said.

Although he feels nervous about his first acting role, he said that he wanted to show a new side of self.

``Through the drama, I’d like to show the better side of me. I’ll work hard to make a feel-so-good drama. I hope people will see my character a little bit seriously. And now I’m just happy as I can wear the clothes that I don’t normally wear,’’ he said, smiling.

The pilot of ``Kung S’’ is slated for 9:55 p.m. on Jan. 10. The 20-episode series will be aired at the same time every Wednesday and Thursday.

Old Crown Prince Joo Ji Hoon VS New Crown Prince Se7en, Tuesday January 9, 2007 Korea

What is common between Se7en and Joo Ji Hoon? They are both Crown princes of MBC.

But the first Crown prince was Joo Ji Hoon. From January 11 to March 30 2006, Joo Ji Hoon played a Crown prince in the MBC drama "Palace" and caught women's hearts.

Joo Ji Hoon received a lot of criticisms because people taught he did not fit the role. However, as "Palace" started, such criticisms were erased. Joo was even given a "New Actor" award in the recently concluded MBC Drama Awards, proving that the Crown prince syndrome is still alive.

Joo Ji Hoon's Crown prince image is totally different with "Palace S"'s new Crown prince. Our new prince is the lucky guy Se7en, who plays the role of a Chinese restaurant delivery man who later learns that he is from the Royal family.

Se7en even cut short his 4th album activities so he can concentrate with the drama. The expectations of fans are only natural because this will be his first acting project.

"Palace S" starts airing on January 10 at 9:55 pm. It will be fun comparing the refined Crown prince Joo Ji Hoon with the raw Crown prince Se7en in this funny drama.

1/9 Se7en at "Hallyu Expo" special event

Se7en, who is in the midst of acting in MBC's drama "Goong S", is participating in the Korean Wave (Hallyu) event expo.

From 4pm on the 21st, Se7en will take part in a special event as part of the Korean Wave Expo - "Se7olution In The World" at the international convention centre (at Jeju?).

Korean Wave Expo's stage will have great expectations for Se7en because of his popularity in all of Asia.

Also, after the special concert event which will begin at 4pm for the fans, Se7en will have his hand print displayed in the expo's display room.

For the special event, Se7en has chosen to sing songs he likes, such as "Passion", "Crazy", "Come Back To Me", "La La La" etc, and songs released in Japan like "Hikari", "Style", "The One", "Chiri Boshi (Dust Star)", "Forever Mind", "Start Line" etc.

In addition, there will be a talk show which will discuss his dance and fashion since his debut. There will also be time for Se7en to answer questions from the fans. Se7en will also talk about his advance into the US and the production of his new album.

November 29th last year, Bae Yong Joon participated in the expo gathering much attention. Following Se7en, popular Korean Wave stars Lee Jun Ki, Lee Dong Gun, Kim Rae Won, Ahn Jae Wook and others will have events until February.

"Goong (Princess Hours)" was a major hit television drama last year, propelling Yoon Eun-hye and Joo Ji-hoon into stardom. This time, it is K-pop star Se7en's turn to cash in on the popularity of the romantic comedy period drama, but early signs are ominous - at least for now.

Last Thursday, "Goong S (Prince Who)" featuring Se7en recorded an 11.7 percent viewer rating, according to TNS Media. The figure means the ambitious television drama of MBC is stuck with the lowest ranking while its competitors from rival stations sprinted ahead.

"Gung S" posted a 15.3 percent rating on its debut on Jan. 10, thanks largely to the attention of viewers who remember the innovative storyline and entertaining characters in its original drama series.

But rating quickly began to decline, with viewers and critics pointing to the not-so-innovative plot and poor acting performances of the main characters including Se7en.

Se7en's drama debut drew keen interest from his fans and television viewers because he has built up an impressive career as a top-rated singer and dancer.

The four episodes of "Goong S" so far aired have played out the initial part of the key plot in which an obscure Chinese restaurant delivery boy discovers his true identity as a member of the royal family and enters the palace.

The major problem with the sagging ratings is that Se7en's acting abilities have failed to impress viewers. Even the original Gung series fans expressed disappointment about the similar plot and drab characterization.

The negative response came amid the ongoing dispute between production houses and MBC television station. Eight Peaks led by director Hwang In-roi produced the first season of "Goong." Things got complicated when Hwang quit and formed his own company Creative Leaders Group 8 to produce the second season.

But Eight Peaks took issue with the license contract, which bars Hwang from using the original title "Goong." Eight Peaks and Hwang's production company, as well as MBC are still in talks to resolve the conflict.

Although MBC and "Goong S" production company assure viewers that ratings will recover, rival dramas - "Dalja's Spring" and "Surgeon Bong Dal-hee" - are faring better than expected, casting a cloud over a possible ratings recovery for "Goong S."

The key is whether Se7en can adapt himself to the drama format quickly, calling upon his considerable talents as a versatile entertainer.

Set in an imaginary 21st-century reality where Korea has a royal family, the original "Goong" revolved around the lives of Crown Prince Lee Shin (Joo Ji-hoon) and his new bride, Chae-kyeong (Yoon Eun-hye).

The story is based on the popular comic series created by Park So-hee. "Goong" is still serialized in a local cartoon magazine, and Park has so far published 13 volumes.

Se7en, "The man who we would like to give chocolates on Valentine's Day"

From February 6 to 12, a poll, which asked who among the male stars would be receiving the most chocolates on Valentine's Day, was held at the Sports Chosun homepage (http://www.sportschosun.com). Se7en received an overwhelming support of 38.7% votes, which placed him at the top spot.

Korean Wave star Se7en is facing the challenges of acting in the drama "Palace S". Even though the ratings of the drama are low, his Crown Prince role is, as usual, still popular among female fans.

Joo Min Mo ranked 2nd place with 16.1% votes. Joo starred with Kim Ah Joong in the popular movie "200 Pounds Beauty". Joo was then followed by Yoon Kye Sang with 15.8% votes. He is currently acting in the drama "Crazy For You" with senior actress Lee Mi Yeon.

Song Il Guk of the popular drama "Jumong" (10.4% votes), Lee Han of "When Spring Comes" (8.7% votes) and Lee Min Gi (5.9% votes) ranked 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.
