[SG Talk] Old Chang Kee. Which is your favourite stick/puff/food?

.....and lots more.

I love the Squid head. Its so yummy!

Which one do you like and why? Do you think its expensive? Which branch do you normally get those from?

I love the sotong head/body. Everytime I would put that in my list. The new black pepper curry puff is also very nice.

I would pass by the branch at northpoint everyday, so that's the branch i go to everytime.

I love the warm curry puffs, the chicken pieces are so nice.
The squids are crispy. If OCK is not selling it, I guess we have to go to a resturant to eat some other types of fried squids.

i just received OCK leaflet about their delivery services..they even offer set meal..hahaha..

i like thier curry O or sadine O ..nice..also like their corn pie..

if i am to say..i think it's affordable but a little to expensive for snack..

The squid for me too!!
Used to like their yam/corn pie. But now, the squid has overtook the first place.

Do u all find that there fishball has a fishy smell/taste? or is it just me? :?

I only like Squid head *Because its chewy and good =P* and I like Fishballs because my parents got me into them when I was little.

I think Squid head is too expencive its like 5.00 a pound in US dollars. But Fishballs are cheap these days :happy:

I was buying some food at old chang kee just now.. then there's a auntie queuing behind me placing her orders.. This is what i heard, "一个curry pok." (one curry pok, pls). lol.. my mum also says the same no matter how i tried to correct her... i gave up in the end.. :sweat:

Well, nobody has mentioned Sweet Potato right? I love it! Yum yum :happy: They sell it at 1 dollar for 2 sticks of it. there are about 3 or 4 small pieces of it on one stick.. So yeah, the price is reasonable too.

its curry puff for me!
i especially luv theirs as it is cripsy and there are eggs and chicken inside..unlike most which have only potatoes inside.
its value for money...$1 only right?

I like the prawn nuggets myself. :-) But I tend to only eat it when I'm out in town and don't feel like having lunch and need some food to fill the stomach. It's fried and thus fattening! :crazy: Like how scary is that!

But it's yummy though. The fishballs are good too!

I definitely love Old Chang Kee's stuff. All the deep-fried food are so delicious and simply yummy :) (although they do 'damage' to your figure haha...)

it is actually quite difficult to just choose an item, here are a few of my favourites:

my fav is curry puff. it's hot and filling. do u know they have set up a new branch selling food sets like curry loaf, laksa etc. the prices are ridiculous. $3.90 per meal and it comes up to $5 for an extra drink.:crazy:

but i wanna try the curry loaf. looks nice :D

Heya.. recently the Take 5! outlet (an Old chang kee branch selling food sets)in East point had this great offer: Buy one get one free. Being a true Singaporean, I obviously had to get my hands on them!

So I ate two sets on two consecutive days with my friend.

Yesterday: Traditional Beef stew with bread and fruit punch. the bread was gigantic. haha the stew was okay, but I'd rather potatoes than wintermelon cubes. $2.50 (up: $5)

Today: Sambal fish with rice and lime juice. the fish is little but nice! They gave too much chilli though (these people always like to give a lot of chilli when they know we definitely can't swallow down so much..) . $2.50 ($5)

I'm hoping to try curry loaf before the offer ends :D hehe

oh, i used to eat alot of old chang kee food till one day got rash and then i never touch it anymore already. yes, i miss the fried potato, because the top is crispy and the inside is smooth and soft.

definately the sotong head :D followed by the prawn.

The prawns, are usually overcooked. but heck. its PRAWNS xD

i like the sotong balls. they are simply so yummy. last time i like the curry puffs but now i am sick of it already. haha
