Hey i was just wondering, this might be a good feature to have in place, well not feature but rule.
I was requesting something, and i figured it is an ass pain to upload files sometimes, not to mention some peoples ISPs charge their upload quota to their download as well, like me.
So wouldn't it be a good idea for people who request for like music, to purchase it using their points?
Just an idea to think about i suppose.

Hmmm, I think that would be a good idea, as it is already implemented in some other forums I know with basically some members opening shops for that. But a strict rule must be maintained so that members don't post trash just to increase their post count and money to buy things.

yea i've seen it around too. people tend to just say a simple "thx" or "cc" in order to get the music or d/l. i don't think this will work well with our system and i think it just complicates stuff and our forum will just be even more full of rules and regulations! it will be tough for us and newbies to get around.

I think it's a good incentive.
Because, you need to post to get points, so you won't have some random joining the forum and making a request.
The requestee would require to have points so that they can pay-back the person who uplodas the item for them.
And the uploader can have a say of how much points they want or any amount.

I don't think we'll ever implement an incentive based download system ever again. From the past we've learned it increases the about of spam too much. We'll rather have quiet leechers than a bunch of annoying people running around posting stuff JUST for the sole purpose of getting downloads.
We're trying to keep all the functional restrictions down, with any new restriction, people will always find ways to go around it. And it's just too much work for us to try and keep one step ahead of them.
