The Vision 2020 by Tun Dr. Mahathir.
Have you ever been dreaming what Malaysia has got to be by then?
They wanted 70 million population in Malaysia whereas theres only 26 million now. What'd you think?
More skyscrappers?
Better infrastructure?
More roads?
Better technology?

Haha. Give all your thoughts, comments here. :D

 It would be better if they dropped the whole NS (National Service) thing theyve put up ages ago....

Better roads ...thats a great thing, cos they really need to clean up those traffic jams in KL, they kill ....

Im sure we have enough skyscrapers

Hey guys, don't run out of topic.

I think NS is not that bad. Helps you to be independent. It really does. Especially those mommy's boy and daddy's girl. And you can learn a lot of stuffs. And the friendship is priceless. Where else can you know people from all over Malaysia?

And Edweenie, they are implementing the gun thingy right now. It was just suggested last year so it's hard to make it work in less than a year. Give them some time.

:worry: My grandma once told me that when she was reading this article about people's opinion on NS, some parents were against it, saying that their child was "threaten" and "beaten up" by guards or whtever u call them ....scaryyyy ..:glug:

milkified, I agree with you! Those mommy's boy and daddy's girl should have go for the NS, and let them train some, but if you read the newspaper for these few days, you will found out that there is a name list in for NS and there is name list for those who not attend the NS too, there is so many people absent for the NS.

Another one, Edweenie, ya there is really this kind of case like bullying, "threaten" and "beaten up" by guards. So my tuition teacher tell me that, this kind of case should not happen, cause NS is a place for us to train and not for us to end of bullying so aim for NS already change? ( what i mean 'aim' here is we go for NS to train us fit, train us patroitik [correct me] to our country and the meaning 'change' is equal to are we going NS to end up fighting, bullying?)

So after this kind of case happen, the management of NS should be stricten, make sure all those ending up with fight or bully takes punishment. And because of this case happen many parents does not really support the NS including my parents  .
Well, after observing the good and bad of NS, I have no idea to support NS or not to support NS.

The comment up there is just my opinion, no offence.
Wawasan 2020! I hope that on that time our country will improve more, and I have calculated how old when it is 2020, it is about 40+ years old, so I still have time to see how our country to become success in year 2020. In order to let our country become succesful in year 2020, I think the country needs our (refers to Malaysian) help too, we must take more hardwork and sacrfice more for our country.

okay, i really have bad comments on the infrastucture in KL.
every where is jam. and the renovation is never done.

look at the bandaraya's round about. it sucks.
it takes almost half an hour during a rainy day to drive around it.

and i hate to see buses and taxi stop everywhere whenever they like.
they should repair this problem.

singaporeans are laughing at our infrastrutures. ;(

and about education, i thikn they still need more improvements.
all subjects need to change to english to standardize us malaysian and the others, in my opinion.

NS? 3 months are like nothing compared to the singaporeans.
they are doing it for 2 years and i think its goooooooooooood. kakaka.
only guys no girls. ;p

*alot of comment*

and do you still wish to see stall everywhere beside the streets when its like a very high tech country already.
doesnt seem nice at all. sigh.

public toilets are worse. what do we pay for?

lastly, police. speechless. ;(

Edweenie
06-03-2006, 03:32 PM
andantino seeing stalls beside the streets is not a bad thing, it still has that same old Malaysian style of attracting tourists mahhh :D Not a bad thing really i you sometimes hear them screaming "lekor lekor, RM2 saja!!" xD ...Keep traditions alive ....

But i agree with the public toilets and the polis ppl lahh, they take ages to get to a situation that its not funny

erm, i'm actually rooting for the national service. it's actually a good thing, but, very less consideration..
it should be out for all boys, instead of for girls. they should be applying it like what singapore and korea did. that way would be good.

well, by that time, i'm hoping for more doctors, more advance technologies, and less social sickness....
by that time, i'll be real old...wonder if i might have any time to hang out here again...

haha. perhaps in 2020, we would be seeing pirated movies in small nanochips and not cds anymore.

i'm not too sure, i dont place much hope in malaysia. i know it's so unpatriotic of me but i dunno, malaysia seems kinda... racist. so ironic when it's said rght because malaysia's supposed to be "berbilang kaum". i dunno, maybe we can be improved. somehow.

vivien, looks like migrating is the best thing for you!

Hmmm piracy is something that can't be prevented and it's everywhere in the world. So it's not really a big deal for me.

Public transports, YES. Especially taxi drivers and their tricky-ness. Always trying to charge more whenever there's chance.

Public toilets - forget about it. I give up. Haha.

milk : but i dont think i'll migrate!!

honestly, i still love Malaysia alot.
you see, Malaysia has no earthquakes etc etc like any other countries.

the living style here is not so tight-up and stressed up compared to Singapore.
things here are cheaper sometimes better.

there are just a few things they need to improve before it reaches 2020.

Can't you have a maid in New Zealand, Eddy? Looks like it's not something about Malaysia that I'm going to miss because I don't have a maid.

I enjoy living in Malaysia, but not really KL. I mean I do enjoy the entertainment sources that we have in KL compared to other states, but I think I'll prefer a more peaceful and quiet life when I grow up. I went to other states and their lives are not as hectic as KL. My friends there even asked me why do we KL people walk and talk so fast. I told them in KL everything has to be fast.

Yes, we have to walk and talk twice as fast in KL. people in KL can be quite kiasu sometimes. (okay, all the time. esp on the road)

Few things that need to improve before 2020:
public transport
heatlh and education

and yes, public toilet. :D they are so dirty its downright embarassing.

we are in a country with third world mentality.

in my opinion, if we wanna reach the wawasan 2020, the education is the most important thing. just please change the education system in malaysia, a lil bit would be fine.....
cause my friends and i were talking the other day about malaysian students are too stress cause in malaysia, students are too exam-oriented. that means that they don't have chance to show other potentials. am i right? correct me if i'm wrong.....

M'sias education system is ok-ish in my point of view, but too much exams...Still they dont get students to work as effieciently as they can...cos they all lepak everyday like going to play soccer etc. ^^ ..and coming to Jayc.net  Although i havent been experincing high school over there, i think the maths textbook my cousin threw at me is pretty hard :glug:

Why is that? I've been in the U.S. for seven years now and I've never heard about this before. Has this been going on forever or just after September 11?
