Meaning of "Jay"

i checked up on meaning of JAY..
results were as follow : -

....Is Jay his official christian name or just
something that he "picked up" when entering
the entertainment, so that it'll be easier for fans
( especially non-chinese ) remember? hee....

when i first saw jay e name... it reminded me of 'jay-walking' hehe... i think he just picked it up when he entered the entertainment circle... cos it's easy to remember n special... yup at least to me. n jay sounds like the 'jie' in his name. i wonder why JJ lin jun jie chose JJ... i mean i know it's 'J'un 'J'ie but when i first heard of it my only reaction was "huh? another one? (thinking that he's another jay imitator...)

yah i agree with you rou. when i heard JJ lin's name, my first thought was, 'wow, people actually can come up with such lame names"
especially since his music is relatively similar to jay's style, and they're both singer-songwriter. actually JJ lin has another english name Wayne, ut's pretty confusing, but i think his company decided to use JJ cos people will remember it better(cos it's so lame)

Jay.. the first thought that comes to mind was, the singing bird..
den slowly got use to his name Jay zhoujielun.. but the name did suit him i guess.. very jay, very diao.. keke :D
but i still liked his chinese name, Zhou Jie Lun.. jie lun just sounds nicer to me.. haha. :D

I guess Jay was probably derived from the word ‘杰’ in his Chinese name as rou has pointed out. I think it sounds very natural. As for Lin Jun Jie, I think he should've stuck to using Wayne, it sounds so much nicer than JJ.

we might as well dicuss the meaning. we analyze everything about him from his eyes to his clothing (caps)...the next topic will probably be the type of toliet paper he uses (btw: i say Charmin.. :) if they have that brand)

Hey, it's quite true...he's a well discipline person esp with all de effort he put in his musics.... :wink2: meanwhile i can sense tat Jay reveals a sense of awareness in his songs most of de time...
and he's quite motivated too for having a great career ahead of him...
