I've been watching old Love Letter episodes and I saw Woo Hyuk on episode 34 &35. I thought he was such a hottie when he was on epi35 when he was trying to give a kiss to this one girl (forgot her name). I watched it on youtube.com and it was part 4. I rewatched that like 2 times and i'm trying to find out more information about him so thanks jbalibean for posting up the info.
By the way why was H.O.T disbanded? i liked some of their songs.

From my limited information, H.O.T was disbanded because the manager of the record company only wanted Kangta and Hee Jun.

Therefore they were forced to be disbanded. Correct me if I've given the wrong information. :wink2:

Here is some interesting news I found about Woo Hyuk:
Singer Jang Woo-hyuk Outshines Rain in China
credits: KBS Global
Saturday 18 February 2006
Singer Jang Woo-hyuk, a former member of the group H.O.T, has achieved the highest popularity among South Korean singers in China, outstripping even singer Rain, known as the "Asian star."
In a poll conducted by China's largest portal site, sina.com, Jang topped the chart of South Korean singers in two categories: most popular South Korean singer, and South Korean singer with the best dancing ability.
In the latest poll conducted among about 20,000 Chinese people under their real names, Jang overwhelmed other South Korean singers, including Rain, who have been engaged in brisk activities in China.
In the category "Who do you think is the most popular South Korean singer in China?" Jang topped the chart by outdistancing Rain by about 500 votes, followed by the group T.V.X.Q, singer Kang Ta, and the group Shinwha. Singers Jang Nara and Se7en, who worked hard in China in 2005, ranked seventh and ninth, respectively.
In the second category "Who do you think is the South Korean singer with the best dancing ability?" Jang won an overwhelming approval rating of 48.48 percent, outdistancing Rain by more than double the votes.
An official from Jang's agency, Sponge Entertainment, emphasized, "The outcome of the latest poll conducted by sina.com shows that Jang Woo-hyuk has consolidated his foothold in China, with a population of 1.3 billion, as a solo singer, not as a former member of H.O.T or the group jtL."
Notably, Jang was chosen as the most popular South Korean singer in China by outdistancing other singers who have already made their presence known in China, although he has not yet begun making serious inroads into the Chinese market. Therefore, he is expected to achieve even greater popularity in China if he begins full-fledged activities there.
In fact, Jang attracted the attention from many Chinese fans and media organizations when the music video featuring the title song of his solo album was introduced online on sina.com. Many Chinese people gave him high acclaim for his outstanding dancing ability.
In addition, many Chinese fans from various regions want Jang to attend China's most popular pop song award event entitled "Pepsi Music Chart Awards" (百事音樂風雲榜) as a foreign guest artist.
During the past two months, while the voting for the music awards was in progress, about 100,000 fans posted messages asking the organizers of the event to invite Jang as a foreign artist, surprising officials from media broadcasting organizations.

I became interested in k-pop after H.O.T. was disbanded,so unfortunately I can't say specifically what caused them to break up. I'm pretty sure it had to do with their management though as Starylosophy mentioned because they seemed too popular to break up of their own accord at that time.

Reina ~ thanks for the info. That's interesting that he places so far ahead of Rain, and yet there is so little known of him in comparison :hmm: I'm gonna try and find some of his songs ~ I'm really curious how his voice sounds^^

Wow I feel really proud of Jang Woo Hyuk & his fine self.I first saw him in the Xman korean tv shows. He is truly adorable in there & his dancing & rapping skills are superb.

I also noticed that he's very athletic in the physical games they play on that show.Including the chicken game where they had to hop on one foot, while trying to knock opposing team members down.

Well let's just say Jang prevailed in that game & his smile brightens up my day.Yeah thanks Reina for the information. It's not surprising how high he ranked though.^^:bleh:

Hi all! I am a rather new fan of JWH's solo work. His cover of "Flip Reverse" won me over! Anyway, is there any news on his music or TV appearances these days?

:O He's doing military service now? ..so I'm guessing it'll be a year or two before we hear anything from him...(military service is 2 years IIRC?)

haha, yeah, his dancing is really awesome :D (I heard he learned from Poppin' Hyun Joon (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=poppin+hyun+joon&search=Search)).. and that last album was pretty impressive. All those collabs must have taken a while to arrange

I wish Woohyuk didn't have to leave... I miss his dancing and his signature scream! I just saw Woohyuk's pictures from his recent birthday fanmeeting, and he looks great. Those fans are so lucky for having the chance to see him again!

I'm a HUGE H.O.T fan.
They're the reason why I even started listening to Asian music...and I remember their breakup like it was yesterday....but anyway...to answer greenpea133 question from ages ago...
Their contract was up for a renewal with SM Entertainment (May 2001)...and it turned out that both KangTa and HeeJun were resigned and given raises...while WooHyuk, Tony, and JaeWon were pretty much left in the dust. Feeling completely betrayed and neglected...the three left and started over with Yee Jeon Media as JTL.
They have since reconciled and are on speaking terms, I suppose, but the likeliness of them ever performing again are slim to none.
Anyway...I personally think WooHyuk is the most improved of all the H.O.T members. He's still very intriguing.
