sorry, if the word "hella" offend anyone...:worry:
:? The word "hella" is native to northern california and, from what I hear, from S.F. and the bay area in particular. If you grew up in NorCal you've probably used the word hella before.
Definitions of Hella
1. Northern Californian term for "really" or "very." Generally accepted vernacular north of Santa Barbara (It will get you dirty looks anywhere else in the world.) example- That's hella true
2. A word never said by the highly intelligent people indigenous to Southern California. ex. What did that guy just say? Hell...A??
3. If you are really Nor-Cal, you just throw it in anywhere, at least like 5 or 6 times in a sentence. ex. I hella know that girl hella messed up on her hella hard test.
See also synonym hecka.
Hecka:
Used in place of "hella" because it is hecka better, or because people are not into using "hella." ex. I hecka think jcnet forum is the best
 i just brought this up beacuse i notice being in college i met people from southern california and how they are weird out by northern california words like 'hella' and 'hecka' Also when the band No Doubt came out with the song "Hella Good" im pretty sure rest of the world thought the word was odd because they never heard hella in that way.
Growing up in the bay area of norcal, i grew up with these words being used and thought they were used national. I used to say both the words especially hecka alot but i dont anymore. it wasnt until reccently i notice these two words only exist in the northern part of california. so i just want to know what do you guys think of these two words and any weird encounter of people or you saying them?
