Nominations for JCNET 2006 Awards

We've never done an awards presentation before, so this will be our first annual awards "show"...since Jay wasn't nominated for any GMA awards, no one will wanna watch that! So let's have our own.

The winners for the awards will get a special custom title in their profile, and bragging rights, except for n00b related awards.

I'll work with the VIPs for nominations for various other related categories, but the "special" ones that need mass input are the following:

*award names pending, I know they may sound corny, but just to give you an idea for now..

- JCNET Diao-est Member of the Year (top member award, overall best, standout, etc..)

- JCNET Philanthropic Award (top contributor in all aspects award - news, pictures, downloads, translations, etc..)

- JCNET Humanitarian Award (most helpful, kind, nice to everyone award)

- JCNET Renegade Award (award title is kinda misleading but it sounds cool, it's not for most rebellious member, but the cool badass member. The one that tests the mod's patience, scares the n00bs away, but in the end is a good member deep down)

- JCNET Honorary Protector (member who has supported JCNET for a long time, supports JCNET outside of JCNET, promotes JCNET in a positive way, sort of a mother/father/big sister/big brother figure, etc..)


EVERYONE is eligible for these nominations excluding yours truly. I know you guys all wanna vote me for the Humanitarian Award, but not this time.

The awards presentation will be a while from now since we have other things going on, and it's gonna get busy with Jay's album coming out sometime this summer/early fall. But all the nominating and voting will be an ongoing process, since there will be a lot of categories. We won't vote for all 20+ categories in one day of course.

It's ok if you have more than one for each category, and you don't have to have one for each category. Just any names you want to throw out will give me an idea of what the final nominees for each category will be.

You can nominate people who've already been named by someone else as well.

Also if you guys can list contributions, reasons why, etc.. you nominated a certain member, that'll be helpful. Linking to specific post or something too will be nice.

- JCNET Humanitarian Award: I nominate Karen, panda_shine! I don't have any links to specific posts, but she is the member that never has any superior airs around the forum and is always nice even to the newbies even though she's been here for so long. She helps to point newbies in the right direction in a friendly way. Overall, she's the most consistently kind JCNET-er I can think of.

- JCNET Philanthropic Award: I would like to nominate CJay and josh_yth as well. the jay media forums are filled with their posts. Also, I remember a while back, jakinni was a very heavy contributor as well.

- JCNET Honorary Protector: I would choose Pin jie, lattae. She's been here for a very long time and she puts a lot of effort to help organize events at this site as well as theme weeks which help involve newer members into the JCN communtiy. Overall, I think she has a huge presence at the site.

JCNET Philanthropic Award: Alby (JianDan[Ai]) does a great job sorting out the download forums, also in Help/Feedback.

JCNET Humanitarian Award : Pei (ColaPop) for being nice overall. in all of her posts.

JCNET Renegade Award: Definitely scarletwillow or laruku. For Jialiu, I just think back to the IRC chat days even though he isn't around much anymore. And for Renee, well, just for her contribution to the infamous baruch thread (http://www.jay-chou.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18567&page=9)
