Has The Idea Of Big Brother Gotten Old and Crazy?

i hated the show from day 1 but i have noticed that even more people are starting to hate the show and refusing to watch it which made me post this post. I also think that some of the crazy things they are pulling off in the house are stupid like the ability to lose money of the total the winner wins at the end of the show... what if if they are -$2000 the winner will come and have to hand over $2000 big ones... :glug: :wacko: i think not... so what do you guys think... gone too far or just getting good??

nope wrong show... its a show where a group of 10 or so people are placed in a house that is like a jail... you dont have any contact to the outside world and there is this guy over a microphone who tells the people in the house what to do and it is on TV every night.... a pure reality TV Show from the US originially i think...

hmm... i think you're talking about the show "Unanimous" from Fox channel here in the state, where they get like 10 people to compete for the grand prize of 1 million us dollars by living together w/o contact from the outside world, but the prize will keep decreasing until all the people can have a unanimous vote on who's going to win the money. I dont like the show but somehow i end up watching it every night. I think they're brainwashed me and all the other people who watch it. i find that im addicted to it. Personally I wanted Elise to stay in the house because she was like Asian. That's why I hate Dino because he's homophobic and he allegedly said racist things to Elise :dry:

I've never watched a single episode coz the concept of watching a bunch of strangers living in a house didn't appeal to me at all. I have better things to do with my time.

and if the preview ads and controversies surrounding it is anything to go by, then this show really is indeed very stupid.

and to think that it's actually called a "reality TV show"

I'm absolutely addicted to this show. It's so lame and shameful, but it's addictive!!!!! This season is definitely by far the most interesting and the guys on there make for easy viewing too ;)

yes the show is getting quite old, it's the same thing over and over again, this year they introduced the idea of the insider, which was entertaining for a while, until they exposed it and destoryed the only good thing about big brother :S

I'm never a big fan of reality shows really so i guess i am neutral with this. There seem to be never ending seasons to the show now. It is a little draggy for my liking.

The format of the show is interesting.
I even wanted to be one of the housemates someday. But not now anymore.
Here in the Philippines, Pinoy Big Brother have gone through 3 editions already.
The first one for random ordinary people, the second for celebrities,
and the third and current one is for teens, which is nearing it's final night.
I hated the fact that the Philippine version of Big Brother is kinda lame.
I'm beginning to hate the psychologically and emotionally-challenging tasks
that Big Brother assigns to his housemates. It's not fun anymore.
There's no conflict with the prizes but it's getting annoying when the former
housemates get overexposed while inside and after leaving the house.
And the next season, they're gone. They've had their short shot at fame. Boo-hoo.

actually, i don't see why people's complaining about the show, if they hate it so much, stop watching it, find something else to do at 7:00pm every nite, and go read a book or something on sunday and friday nites, it's really no big deal. Although i'm not 100% supporting the show, i don't go against it either. I watched a few series before, when the housemates was good and interllectual, i watch it, when all they do is sunbake and make out, i don't see the point of watching. I say they should put more fresh ideas into bigbrother and lighten it up a bit...and get some interllectual people into the house....but i have to say, i doubt smart people will sign up for it :P

big brother isn't the greatest show, but its something to watch becus everything on tv these days are crap. its funny making them make a fool of themsevles. i watch it when ever i can, i haven't gotta bored of it yet, its actually quite addictive ! :oops:

oh god, I hope not. I read somewhere that a politician was going to try and ban BB from running again, but I agree with Darkshrimp... if you don't like it, don't watch it. If everyone did that, there would be no reason for BB to continue to air... without viewers, no companies would sponsor or support thte show. neither would the politicians.

One thing I don't like about BB is that it tries to publicise certain scandles that they want to promote (like the turkey-slapping incident). I watched one episode of the Friday Night Games, when they had to eat all this disgusting stuff like animal eyes and tongues, and I never watched it again.

I don't know why people would want to enter the household in the first place. The idea of having people around Australia watching me as I vomit after eating pig's tongue just isn't very appealing. :oops:

I really hope there isn't another season. Channel 10 always keeps on having new seasons for shows that most people don't like (BB and Australian Idol).

Yeah..I used to be really into Big brother the first season...then my enthusiasm seriously crazily dropped in the next seasons -_-

How ridiculously obvious did they wanna make the aim of the most recent season? Basically, a bunch of good looking, all really fit teenagers (practically teenagers right). All single. In a confined space. The guys are shirtless (it seems??) more than half the time they're on air...and don't get me started on the girls!!!!! OR the plastic surgery...

The fact that this show airs during family TV time is ridiculous. Theres gotta be so many young people/teenagers watching Big brother and idolising these people - Will they think that it's okay to act like the people in there?? *falls*

As episodes went past...it does seem that they purposely put young singles in the house to see what will happen. However, I do think that it is a good way to see how your character is like, as it puts you in a different and difficult situation and you have to live together with so many people. Interesting that many different types of people have won BB though.. :)

When it first came out, everyone was like "cool" cause it was new.
After a while it just became boring. its just a group of people trapped in a house for a number of months without contact to the world. I really hate it now, it just shows how rude and unmannered society is now.

I have never liked Big Brother.. it's pretty boring to watch.. yeah, sometimes its funny when you've got nothing else to watch.. but then i get tired after watching like 10 minutes of it.. lol
some people in the house are pretty rude too.. and the stuff they do in there is pretty dumb..
i dont even know why we still have the show on Channel 10..
lol.. i'd rather watch reruns of The Simpsons.. lol
