I was just wondering what are you guys birth rank in your family?
* #3 and #5 is for people in a family with more than 3 kids where "one of the older siblings" mean that you are between the oldest and the middle child and " one of the youngest siblings" mean you are between the middle child and the youngest. While choice #7 is for people who's rank are changing like your mom is havin a kid/kids, your divorced parents marrying to a person who have kids too.

Also, do you like being at the rank you are?

for me, im the oldest child in my family and i dont like being the oldest because there's too many responsibilities. but then there are some advantage being the oldest like the one who get to do things first before your younger siblings or getting the new clothes and your siblings get the secondhands.

As for me, I'm the middle child.. and worse of all, I'm the only son. So the pressure is always there, you know, to carry the family name on etc etc. My parents were so worried about me not getting a girlfriend that they even tried to set me up with other girls before, once. And I didn't like it, and I made them know of the fact that I don't like it.

Thankfully, they backed off. :whistle: But I love my parents as much as they love me. :happy:

:oops: arg, i got the same situation too, my younger sis (the middle child), she's the favorite among my family and relatives. not only that, she is more um hard-working and taller than me. i hate it when my parents are like " why cant you be more like your younger sister" and im thinking 'geez, u cant compare me to that way, u dont know how much i went through being the oldest'
bit envy the younger siblings cuz they dont get much strict rules as the oldest used to have because oldest already break or loosen up the rules for them like the age for them to go out, at friend's house, etc.

Wow. So many of us are the oldest child in the family.

I used to think I'm the only child of the family. (My parents are separated). That is, until my grandfather died, and my dad had to bring my to attend the funeral and there I met my step-sis and step-bro. They are 7 and 8 years younger than me respectively. My father kept us apart until I was 14 years of age.

I don't think that's a very wise decision because let's face it, sooner or later I'm going to have to meet them anyway. I know it's offensive to say so, but it was a bit cowardly of him.

I like that the experiences of my sister and brother passed onto me so when it was my turn, I had a better handle of things. I was given some really good advice not just from my parents but from my siblings too.

It's true that the youngest is almost always very spoilt - I admit I am.

But my sis and bro used to tease me and pick on me a lot as a kid and they still do today. Family gatherings are loud, rowdy and well, fun.

I think my brother is suitable to be the oldest and my sis sits well in the middle and at the end of it all, I like being the youngest.

Being the oldest does have it's disadvantages though.For one,you are blamed for everything your younger siblings do.Another is when your parents expect you to be good at everything & be the best possible example for your siblings.In my family,all the hopes & dreams of a college student in the family was put on my shoulders.Not pretty when you don't meet all those expectations.:cry:

I rank #6 the Youngest in my family. My siblings and I are many years apart. There are 7 of us total. Let us say that 5 out of 6 of them are old enough to be my parents. My parents had me when they were in their 40's. Pretty late I know. But I am glad that they did. I sometimes feel like I am the oldest though.

I'm the only child. It's nice to be the only child for only certain times, like no one snatches food with you, or toys. But on the otherhand, I dread very much to be the only child, my parents are protective, strict. Not the kind that the only child would be pampered. I've never been pampered. Haha.
