David's dad was a very talented artiste during his days. Dav id pretty much inherited his talent.... I heard once that David adores and idolises his dad..... They just dun see each other too often, as David is in US most of the time, and his dad is in Shanghai.....

tyl3r_durd3n - david tao is another singer from taiwan. he and jay are considered like the 'r&b kings'. if you like jay's music, you should give david a try too. i really like his new album 'black tangerine' he's very good in my opinion (not as good as jay though :wink: ).

Oh... Jay still talks to his dad..... In fact when the "8th Dimension" album was released, Jay's dad appeared on his fan meeting... he was standing at a corner looking in at his son....



At that time, it was almost Fathers' Day, so the reporters asked Jay what he is going to give his dad..... Jay said that since his dad like to travel, he was going to give him airline tickets so that he can travel with a couple of other friends.... but Jay will not be traveling with his dad, as his dad has seperate social circle of friends......and also what his dad was about to say.....



When the reporters asked Jay's dad, how is the relationship between father and son, he told them that they still keep in contact, but he (dad) does not interfere with his son's business (More or less refering to Jay's rumoured relationships) Then his dad said, "He lead his life, I lead mine, I don't interfer with what he do..." and guess what was Jay saying?? (he was standing beside his dad, holding the mics for him) while his dad was speaking..... he kept mumbling "Xia, xia, xia...." (literal meaning.... bluff bluff bluff.....)



When the media asked his dad if he listens to Jay's song, he said yes. But when asked to state one of Jay's song, he said, "The father beat mother one...." and everyone present, including a very embrassed Jay, burst out laughing.....



Then after his dad left, he spoke in a seperate interview.... That he think his dad is very funny. He stated that his dad like to act cool, to people who meet him, but when he(dad) talks, he always have some "xiao peng you de xiang fa" ( meaning that his ideas are very child-like..... or the way he said it..... his dad has very childish ideas....) Coz Jay say, what kind of father would say, "he lead his life, i lead mine"??? ahhh....... sooo cute....



I still want to smile when I think about that interview.... the two of them, don't behave like they are living seperately...... In fact the feeling i get when they stand together is more of friends... Like when Jay stands with Liu Gen Hong and Luo Zhi Xiang..... they keep cracking jokes about each other..... and teasing each other..... ribbing each other........

He got the inspiration from a friend of his, whose had a drinking problem, and a history of family violence..... as for him, I dun think so.......



I should think he wouldn't be talking to his dad if he had written from personal experience...........

Jay is about to hold his concert on the 11th and 12th January at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, and for this, the people in-charge has already employed 60 security crew, including 4 personal bodyguards to ensure the "xiao tian wang's'(literally meaning "little heavenly king") safety. Previously, when Jay went to Singapore, he had 10 security personnel, but it wasn't enough to prevent him from being 'clawed' by the enthusiastic fans.

Previously, fans had said complained over the internet that Jay's company is treating him like a 'money tree', packing his schedules to the fullest, but a crew member has declared, "Jay's main schedules for the first half of the year was his concert tours and the album was meant to be released during the summer holidays. He had to travel to Singapore, Vancouver and Mainland China for his concerts. Besides, when he was in Las Vegas for his concert, Jay had already taken a few days break to have fun in the city!"

Jay went to Las Vegas with his father and Liu Geng Hong, and besides Las Vegas, they went to Los Angeles as well. In L.A. Jay had fulfilled his wish of watching a live NBA match. Sitting in the VIP box which was arranged by the company, he watched the match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors. At the end, he said, "It's such a pity, although I got to see Shaq's skill, but Carter didn't appear due to his injuries, both are very brilliant, so the match is slightly less exciting without him."

While at Las Vegas, the company went to Universal Studios, Jay was rather calm throughout the rides and upon seeing his terrified female crew member, Jay teased her saying, "You keep on screaming, it's deafening!"
When Jay tried his hand at the gambling table, his tour dancers and crew members were surrounding him, "dancing around supporting him" (something like that), it was a rowdy atmosphere, causing the banker to wonder just who this Jay person is. Jay also watched Las Vegas' famous "O" show and got many performance ideas from it.

Not forgetting shopping, he has about himself jerseys, shows, caps and a lighting ornament for his mother.

I've hung out a couple of times with Jay and his dad together and it seems alright. He respects him and he's a nice guy. He's quiet like jay just smiles and doesn't talk much but he's nice. I've spoken to him a couple times and he's courteous and friendly. Yup, ever since his parents' divorce, he's been living with his mum and grandma so he's very close to them. He's on good terms with his dad still though, and still visits him. And no, Ba, Wo Hui Lai Le is not referring to his father, Jay has said so, and said that his dad was never abusive. Hope this helps! :happy:
