Meli, if you're really gonna end up doing that I can help you write the message in Chinese... :-)

Felice, yes it's possible that they'll add 2 extra shows (probably on the 9th and 10th), but this hasn't been confirmed...

candy now, now, you've got ideas running into my head. :brows: Now I have to worry about what to wear, but really I'll really do this. hehe.

Candy, awww, really, so there's a possibility that Jay will be in HK the entire week?!?! :excited:

Meli, oh no, what if Jay is gonna be shopping wearing a disguise then we bump into him? wouldn't that be a blast! :D
then again, he wouldn't be silly enough to walk the streets of HK right...

The two extra shows are on 9th and 10th Nov, they went on sale today and will be available for telephone booking tomorrow 5th Oct, so be quick if you still haven't got tickets! There are still $400 tickets for sale but they're quite far back, about row 19, there are better seats but they're all single seats.

candy
10-04-2004, 05:30 PM
momo_j, thanks for the news... I only found out about it today...and not a lot of people know about this (I wonder why :? )...(I think one radio station advertised it but there was no other announcement)...strange... :glug: But then I heard some ppl say that a lot of the seats were again reserved for "internal booking"...
I think I'm gonna have to switch to One2Free soon....

oh well...I'm happy to see two shows...and I just saw the Taipei one...so that's good enough for me !!!

Felice, YES, Jay is silly enough to walk the streets of HK... He loves going to crowded places (like Causeway Bay) and like to shop where young people shop..hehe...

Yeh, I just came back yesterday evening...it was so tiring....but really worth it !!
I won't babble on about it here...but it was excellent...he sang really well, and no fancy-weird-yucky looking stage costumes, YAYYYY !! :-) I stood at the right side of the stage and when he sang "jian dan ai" he walked over to our side and stood at the edge, so we rushed over and saw him really clearly, he was so 'shuai' (that was the only "moment" where I could see him clearly... )

additional sessions in hkg - maybe too many clients of mahattan id and 12free pressing for them so that they can get good seats - the dates are jsut released and again good seats gone to internal sponsors.
i hope hkg concert will be as wonderful as taipei but i know there's restirction on flame-type effects in the collesium .

Phoebe, yeh, some of the stage costumes from "The One" concert are just totally
Apart from the "last battle" outfit, another one was a real shocker...a friend of mine called it the "lobster" outfit...hehe...guess which one it is.... :-)

Dana, I really hope they'll release it on vcd/dvd...some fans have started a petition at the fanclub site....

omg...bad news from the fanclub...they had already told us earlier that the organisers could only reserve 4 tickets for each member...and now we are told that there has to be further cut down on the numbers...which puts some of the fans in a difficult situation..cos many of us only rely on the fanclub to get tics....I've only reserved two tics from them...and I don't even know if it'll be ok... this is so frustrating.... :-x I think I'm going to lodge a complaint to the organisers.. :rasp:

mliza, the music CD's sold in Sino Centre are originals. But there are also a lot of shops that sell pirated copies of computer programs/applications, and that's why the police and customs officers "raid" the place all the time. :glug: There's only one CD shop on the first floor and more on the basement floor...so...I don't suggest you go up to the second and third floors cos there's nothing but porno vcd's... However, on the second floor there's a shop that sells Japanese idols goods/TV programs on VCD, if you're interested

Felice, heehee...I'm starting to get excited too...in less than a month's time We'll be seeing Jay.....(again) !!! :-) Jia You at work !!!

I've just checked the cityline site and they've announced that one extra show is added (on the 15th)..so now there are 7 shows (9th to 15th Nov):

http://www.cityline.com.hk/chi/main.html#

And also, Sony is releasing 7LX in Hong Kong again but this edition will include a coupon to attend the autograph signing session held on the 7th Nov....*sigh*..They did exactly the same thing last year with YHM..

[EDIT: That 7LX edition also comes with a t-shirt (basketball tanktop)]

This is some news I got from my Aunt in HK! Thought you guys would like to know:

"簽名會"詳情:
· 日 期:2004年11月7日
· 時 間:下午 2:30 時 至 下午4:30結束
· 地 點:新港城中心 - 沙田馬鞍山鞍祿街十八號新港城中心二樓天幕廣場

I am assuming you all know chinese, peeps, but In Brief:
7th November 2004, Jay will go to Shatin to do an autographing session lasting between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. (I'm not sure about the locations- any1 with good chinese, clear that up for me please? :worry: )

I really Hope my aunt goes for me, or at least bribe my cousin to go for me!

candy
10-21-2004, 05:07 AM
Thanks, Dana ! hope you'll get it !!

hmm..wonder why they chose to hold it in Shatin this year ?!? Guess the place is bigger, compared to the crowded streets of Causeway Bay !! (But really, that Shatin Sunshine Centre is really really crowded, esp. on the weekend.. :glug: )

The location in English:

18 On Luk Street, Sunshine City Centre, 2nd Floor, Tin Mok Square, Shatin Ma On Shan.

You can get there by bus or KCR (Kowloon Railway train)

The session only goes for 2 hours and Sony have noted that it WILL end at 4:30pm..
(just like last year's)

I heard from other fans that some CD shops in Sino Centre do sell the session pass and t-shirt separately (for around HKD$50 - $70)..

and btw, I'm not planning to go...

kahel
10-21-2004, 07:09 PM

candy why aren't you going?

ftlouiea
10-21-2004, 08:10 PM
Candy, are you busy then? Its a sunday, which note: makes the centre even crowdier!

Is sunshine city the old centre? Or seiyu? Or the main shatin place where there used to be a colourful fountain in the middle. and has lots and lots of shop, not like seiyu shops. With around 2 or 3 bossini's at least!

Kahel, why aren't you going? Or is that really stupid? You're not in HK are you... just going for holiday?

candy
10-23-2004, 04:34 AM
Ah SORRY, Dana, It's actually the Sunshine city centre in Ma On Shan...The centre in Shatin is called New Town Plaza (but it's the same name in Chinese :glug: )

There are no trains to Ma On Shan at the moment, so you'll need to get there by bus or mini-bus (depending on where you're coming from)..

Meli, I'm just not really interested in going to autograph sessions, that's all  sounds sort of weird...I've only been to one of his autograph signing sessions (and that was in Taipei two years ago), and I didn't even line up to get his autograph.. I was just happy enough to see him at close range :-)

ftlouiea
10-23-2004, 07:24 PM

10-27-2004, 06:33 PM
jes123, what sort of Jay stuff are you looking for ?!? his merchandise ?!? Cos if you are then there's not much around. If you want to buy photos (photos of him taken at various functions/concerts in HK), then Sino Centre in Mong Kok is the best place to go. His 2005 calendar is out recently, it's unofficial and it's available everywhere (check the newspapers/magazine stalls on the streets)..I think that's about it ?!

Welcome chingyan !! we basically talk about anything that's related to Hong Kong in this thread..hope to see you around soon !!

oh yeh, I was in Causeway Bay last week and there's a big Incomparable tour poster on a building...(it's opposite Sogo Department)...and it's dangerous for me when I'm crossing the road, cos I just couldn't take my eyes off IT !!!

Phoebe, I'm not a Faye Wong fan so I'm not really sure about her albums. But I don't think she had an album titled "Wo Yuan Yi" back in 1994 ?!? :? In '94 she released a Mandarin album titled "迷" (mi) which included the song "wo yuan yi"...is that the CD you're looking for ?! You might be able to find it in the big record stores like HMV (there's four branches in HK)..otherwise some small record shops in Mongkok (check Sino Centre) might also have it...

qingqing, yes there is an extra show on the 15th...and it's probably all sold out by now...the organisers are really really annoying...there wasn't a lot of advertising on this..I think they did announce on the radio on the day the tickets go on sale..but not a lot of people knew about it..

momo_j, getting row no.19 from telephone booking is considered good for me, because you can only book one day after the tickets go on sale at the counters..so...that's not bad at all....talk about crap...I booked tickets from the official fanclub...and you know what seats I'll end up getting ?...row no. 19 or 20...I don't think I'll ever book concert tics from the fanclub again...I'll go join one2free or Manhattan ID....

and by the way, the autograph session on the 7th has been cancelled (by Sony, of cos..guess you all know why :wink2: )..Alfamusic has announced at their site that they'll arrange another session themselves..and will announce the dates later.... :?

Lina, I think there was a Halloween party thingy held at Ocean Park...don't know what that was about too..hehe....haven't been to Ocean Park for yearsssss !!!! Can't wait till Disneyland opens next year !!

Hi,

I hoped I'm not barging in here.
Just saw this on Alfa's website, therefore felt itmight be relevant to you all, and like what candy have said they'll reschedule another session.

http://img113.exs.cx/img113/2364/HK.jpg

I like the way Alfa emphasized that they'll not repackaged the album to TW fans.

Sigh, a sudden change results in overseas' schedules jumbled up. I just hope Jay will continue to make his way to SG for his concert.

Hi candy! Thanks for replying my questions...

Can't wait till Disneyland opens next year !!

Me too! :excited:

I need a little help from you girls in HK.

I was thinking of buying a portable MP3 player but I don't know which are good and where I can buy ones for a not very high price in HK for I have been here for just 3 months and I don't go shopping often!

I hope you can give me so suggestions so that I would know where to start shopping  BTW I live in Mong Kok, I think there are many nice shops over there :shiny:

Thanks in advance

well, so you guys have to wait for the announcement from alfa? um..i pray that it could setup a new event soon. dunno that this situation (conflicts with sony) will effect Jay's thai fans into what extent, hur..

Thanks Rachelle ! You're NOT barging in here at all ! WELCOME ! :-) hehe..
and yeh, Alfamusic has been promising Taiwan fans (for the last couple of albums) that they will not release a second version...I think the only album that had two versions was his debut album..(or maybe Fantasy as well)...

Lina, have you checked the electronic stores in Mong Kok ??!? (those shops are everywhere!!)...I don't know what your budget is...but another good place would be the "computer" plazas in Shum Shui Po (whole buildings of shops selling computer stuff and mp3's), and there's another one in Wan Chai...These plazas probably have more to choose from and the prices lower....but maybe you should go to the shops in Mong Kok first and have a look...Some Hong Kong or Taiwan brands are pretty good at reasonable prices..(if you need more info I could ask my friend, he knows a lot about these things.. )

not alot happened at ocean park, just wondered if anyone went to the ghost houses 'cos they were more funny than scary!

Lina, there are tons of electronic shops in mong kok. The prices are more or less the same as i've recently bought an mp3 player myself and have done all the trekking up and down! I decided to buy from a chain store as i feel it is more trustworty and you can take it back after a week if anything goes wrong with it. There are some quite cheap mp3's depending on what memory you want and if you're not fussed with what brand it is. Let me know if you need anymore help and i'll try my best.

felice and I are in a daze. The hotels on the package tours we're aiming are not yet confirming....so we have plan B ready...

if ever they don't confirm, we'll go to HK with no place to stay. We're taking our chances ---- all for the love of Jielun.

By any chance, do you guys know any place to stay in HK that's cheap and comfortable? *sighs*

we hope the hotel's confirm SOON....

Meli ! Hopefully it should be ok !??! since accomodation is included in the tour package..?!?
otherwise you can ask the agency to try find other hotels for you !?? (they should be able to find cheaper ones, I guess :? )...

If you can't get things confirmed before you come..(touchwood :glug: ) you might want to try YMCA (the one in Yau Ma Tei)..I couldn't find their website..(they might not even have one)..but it's comfy and clean...and I found this other one called "evergreen hotel"..it looks all right, eventhough it's not a five star:-
http://www.evergreenhotel.com/

I just got the tickets from the fanclub today....and yes, no surprises...Row no. 20...That's like the last row of the $400 seats...

Hellos candy! Thanks for helping me out. My budget isn't much, the most that I can afford is $1000, but my perfect prices would be below $500 :shy: I don't need any complicated or sofisticated stuff, just sth to listen to music while doing exercises. I don't know much about HK or Tawain brands either! I'm a kinda out-date as you can imagine  I know the "computer plaza" is, but I haven't seen Mp3 players there the last time I went there, anyway I will spend some time checking the places near my home. And if you can, would you mind asking your friend about some expecific models that I can check out? Thanks :thanks:

Hi Hongkonger Jay fans,

This is the first time I'm popping by this thread, and I'm pleasantly surprised that you've been going on and on about the HK concert! I'm heading for HK on Wednesday, taking a bus from Xiamen (13 hrs) so that I have more money to spend in HK. I'll be watching the show on the 12th, I can't believe it's less than a week away!

My friend bought the ticket for me, and according to her mine's a pretty crappy $400 seat too  Oh well, anything to see Jay! Good luck to everybody who's attending the concert too!

[QUOTE=candy]jes123, what sort of Jay stuff are you looking for ?!? his merchandise ?!? Cos if you are then there's not much around. If you want to buy photos (photos of him taken at various functions/concerts in HK), then Sino Centre in Mong Kok is the best place to go. His 2005 calendar is out recently, it's unofficial and it's available everywhere (check the newspapers/magazine stalls on the streets)..I think that's about it ?!

Yes, i am looking for Jay's merchandise that Singapore don't have. I will be in HK in dec and my hotel is near Mong Kok.

Went to Jay's concert last night, anyone here go? I was in the 6th row and nearly got trampled on every time he came near the sides, like a stampede! I ran up once but couldn't really get any good close up shots as there were too many people and i think he was a little scared and ran off quite quickly! Managed to get in a few, probably thought i was mad 'cos i was standing on the chair as well! Luckily i managed to avoid the waving glow sticks and backs of heads!
He did really well, but i thought the music was too loud and drowned out his singing or maybe that was what he wanted in case he forgot the lyrics! He sang Jordan Chan's canto song, not sure what it's called in english. He kept forgetting the lyrics and sang it about 5 times to try and get it right - ahh bless him. He tried so hard and still couldn't remember but it was funny watching him! Anyone know where he's staying or planning a stake-out??! Can i join?!? Anyway, must get ready to go to his next concert, so i'll report back later, bye.

hello momo_j!! i also watched the concert on Nov 11.. i think he was a bit tired on the third day.. seemed like he was having a hard time hitting the high notes of the songs, especially that canto song.. (i got concerned coz he still had 4 nights left to perform :worry:)

anywayz, i was able to watch on the first night (thanks to candy~), i was seated at the right side. he was so full of energy... kept on running here n there.. was lucky coz he kept on staying at the right side of the stage (his right), so i was able to get a good look at him..

those guys seated at the back side of the stage are lucky coz they got to shake hands with him...

he was sooooo amazing!!!! :excited: :excited: :excited:

second day, he was still amazing~ and he seemed more comfortable with the audience. he also forgot the lyrics of the canto song and he had the audience sing with him... at least he got the chorus memrized! he was so adorable coz he sang the song acappella, i guess to make up for it.

does anyone here know the title of that song? it really gave him a hard time :D

what about that other song that he said he liked.. seemed popular coz the audience was singing with him.

too bad i couldn't watch more coz i had to go home..

felice and I are in a daze. The hotels on the package tours we're aiming are not yet confirming....so we have plan B ready...

i had a hard time looking for accommodation as well coz all the hotels are fully-booked. the agencies said that there was a convention in HK from Nov 10 to 13.. :-x crazy they had to schedule it during jay's concert

so, i went to HK on Nov 9 without any accommodation.. :glug: just looked for one at the airport.. i ended up in Langham Place... quite expensive, but i didn't care anymore coz i wanted to watch jay!!!! anywayz, i forgot all my worries when i saw him

I'm really hoping to go back soon.

Hi everyone  just uploaded my 1st avatar pic when i attended on the 10th, hope you can all see it!! Glad to hear you all made it especially mastercp, kahel and mliza and enjoyed the concerts! I've had a fantastic week, seeing Jay everynight, can't get enough! Just sad that it's the last night tomorrow :depresse: i'll miss him. I hope he gets a well earned rest after tomorrow, he seemed really tired tonight (14th), but still gave a mesmerising performance. He did say that he was getting more tired after each show and to forgive him if he didn't sing well - so sweet.

Candy, you're going to his last concert tomorrow too? don't worry whatever row you're in you'll no doubt enjoy the show, i was in the 32nd row tonight! There were quite a few empty seats in the VIP areas and i was sooo tempted to sneak in there, do you think they'd notice?!!? might give that a try tomorrow night! Anyone wait outside for him? He was quite late tonight and the fans were getting impatient, I nearly jumped in a taxi to speed after him! Anybody actually done that before and what happened? The fans were more sensible this time and didn't run onto the road like the other night.

Must make the most of his last concert tomorrow night. I was hoping it might run a little longer on the weekend but it finished 5mins earlier instead!

I succumbed like the rest of you, I bought 3 sets of photos, a desktop calender and a towel. I have no idea why as i've taken so many photo's myself! I just seem to get mesmerised every time i see Jay's face, i think i'll need therapy soon! My brother thinks i'm already crazy for going to see his show more than once, if only he knew how many! I'm not crazy - I'm just dedicated!

I went to the ticket office yesterday and bought tickets for the last show !!! :excited: pretty far back (like row 31 :? ) but can't believe there are still seats available. ($400 and $200 tics)...

Can't wait till tomorrow !!! :-)

haha! yep! indeed quite expensive.. but i forgot about it when i saw jay ~

wow! you're gonna watch tonight!!! wonder what'll happen on the last night. tell us about it!!! :excited:

:worry: just hope he got a lot of rest yesterday so he could perform well tonight :worry:

did he get around HK or did he just stay at the hotel n the concert venue?

meli! yep! start saving or get a higher-paying job :D i agree, it's so easy to get around with the MTR.. and there are a lot of alternatives, you could take the bus, tram.. i liked the bus, it's so spacious and clean~!

on our last night, my friends n I walked along the harbour to the Avenue of the Stars. we were just gazing at the HK skyline and the lights.. so beautiful ~

had my pix taken with a friend at Tony L's star.. i noticed a lot of people took pix with Andy Lau and Jacky Chan's.

momo_j, i hear they do a lot of "car chasing" in Spore.. i guess it'll depend on the assistants or managers if they'll allow you to get near jay at the hotel. have you tried stalking him at the airport?

hehehh... i'll watch all his concerts if i lived in HK!!!

it's all worth it ~ :cloud9:

today, I had no progress whatsoever at work. because I learned that jay cried in HK. I'm pounding myself why I only watched one night in HK. (I should've tried getting the tickets) I'm pounding myself because it'll be two more years probably to have a chance to see Jay again. 2 years...that's like the length of my last relationship. I thought it was lengthy...oh the waiting...

After two more years...I shall prepare to see Jay in HK all the way. Up to the end. Hopefully God shall abide me.

*sighs*

hi hk ppl....

i haven't been online for at least a week since i had my end of semester exams...(so i was dying during that time:-x...esp, with no j-c.net and MSN)

it seems a lot of ppl ended up goin' to j's concert in HK... .if only it was on at a different time, like later in the year when i'm goin' back to HK! (or he finally comes to Aus  )

i was wondering whether u guys have preordered the "D調的華麗" yet in HK?.... 'cos i will get my relatives to get it for me then...
is it only if i pre-order it beforehand then i will get the metal box or even if i buy it later (when i go back to HK at the end of the yr) I can still get the box??

thanx everyone!!!

Can someone tell me where i can get Rain's merchandise and his 1st album? I can't get it in Singapore.

Thanks.

Hope you all enjoy Jay's Concert. I will be watching both his concert in Singapore.

Hi sesamestreet  about the book, I think it only comes with the box if you pre-order it....but then again...I'm pretty sure some shops would have it after the release...(remember, it's Hong Kong we're talking about..hehe  )...I've pre-ordered mine today.. !! at a CD shop in Sino Centre...(went past and saw a small note stuck on the window  )...it's only HK$95 ....if you're asking someone to get it for you here, the shop's on the first floor..(once you go up the escalator and arrive on the first floor the shop's right in front of you)...

Jes123, hmm...I'm not sure about places that sell Korean merchandise..(probably Sino Centre again?!?)...cos Japanese music is more popular...Meli and Felice, did you gals find any Korean stuff in Sino ?!? you can probably find his CD's there but not sure about merchandise... :glug:

[Edit: was just reading news about his concert, and the press asked him if he cried during "xian shi", and he denied !!! My friends and I, however, are still pretty convinced that he DID...hehe.. ]

yup, apart from the Jay pics we bought at Sino Centre, i bought the Shinhwa special edition 7th album

you're right, Candy, this thing was only released a couple of days yet it's already there in HK hahahahaha...

jes123, let me give you a tip---we went to Hanchasa, 18th floor no. 2 Austin Avenue, Tsim Shat Tsui. it's Korean stuff galore!!!!! i bet you can find Bi merchandise there and his other albums. though they sell at steep prices, it's ok if you're a big kpop fan, i guess heheehhee... :wink2:

The store is in an office building and you have to keep your eyes open because you won't see a big sign of the store itself but the "2 Austin Avenue" is pretty much visible infront, at the entrance.

kahel
11-18-2004, 12:55 AM
that #2 Austin Ave was quite tricky to find. We initially thought it was on the "main" road but then it was after the school there.

Jay is so cute denying he cried.

I'm missing HK more and more. I really do love the convenience there. Plus Korean, Japanese and of course Chinese stuff are everywhere! :excited:

They have these $10 store at Causeway. Full of really cute Jap stuff. I wish I bought some more. And the perfumes at Bonjour too...

I really wish I bought an mp3 player...

yeah, you can try Sino Centre for korean stuff. look for the store at the basement. they've a huge selection of CDs and magazines. my friend bought a finkl (korean group) album there and we weren't able to find it in the other stores around HK.

hi . i know it's a bit late to post about jay's hkg concert but i just came back from hkg and i must share with my jay's experience too . i attended 4 sessions. on 11thnov - hkd400 ticket -row2 seat 88 . 12nov-hkd400= row 14 seat 87 , 14nov-hkd200 - row 32 seat 98 , 15nov -hkd100 - row35 seat 87. ha. ha. ha. as you notice my funds was running low, ence cheaper tickets . i bought a short sleeves khaki t-shirt - hkd 90 . i also bought 2 sets of the cdw - thinking they were vcds of the hkd cocnert !! now you all know i am a pc illeterate ! anyway , my friend played them on her pc and showed me 50 great photos of jay's . by the way , all my friends thinks i am mad and hope i shall get over this jay's fever soon .
i always wondered whether even a fan can maintained the passion watching the same concert for a few sessions. yes . i enjoyed every single one and i wished i had attended all of them . the fans were very supportive - screaming and clapping everytime jay points at them or dance few steps . even though on the 11nov , his singing is weak , his fans still adores him . even though on the 14nov , when he palyed the flute and air instead of notes came , his fans loved him. and on the 15nov , i was moved by his emotion - i thought i saw him wipe away tears and his voice trembled . from where i was seated i saw his grandma but on the 14+ 15nov , i was seated too far away . all his costumes were great except that skirt thing and those tugged -in jeans into the long boots ( jay's slight built and bandy legs are not suited to such outfits . ha. ha. ).
my conclusion - hkg loves jay and jay is very appreciative of hkg fans . even with those minor glitches , the concert was a resounding sucess and i am glad i managed to attend them . looking fwd to jay 's concert in kul .

Hey Phoeb, welcome back !! Glad you had a wonderful time..and I agree with you about some of his stage costumes...that skirty thingy reminds me of those kitchen door curtains.. :glug: and the boots..hmm...those boots are 'in' right now but I didn't really like the way he wore it... but other than that I LOVE the rest.....I'm just relieved he didn't wear any lobster-like outfits this time...

don't get too upset !! there's still hope !! *hug hug*

Hey Lina ! hmm..I've asked my friend but the ones he told me are those with good functions and they cost around $800 or more.. I think a lot of mp3's cost so much b/c they have functions like fm radio, recording and big memory space...the cheaper ones might not have big memory space or SD card slot...or something.... :glug:
Maybe we can go to the computer plazas together and have a look.. some day...

So many of you have went to Langham Place? Is the things there expensive?

Where will you recommend to go for shopping and watch movie?

Jes123, Langham Place has a lot of brand-clothing stores and also a Japanese Department store (Seibu)..but there's also a couple of floors (up the top) which consist of shops that sell all sorts of things (and cheaper clothing like the ones you find in Mong Kok)..

Recommendations for places to go shopping..hmm...depends what you're after and your budget.. If you want to shop for cheap clothing Mong Kok is probably a very good place to start (there are a lot of plazas, like Mong Kok Centre and "New City" Plaza [um..not really sure of the actual English name for this one  ]....and many others)...Tsim Sha Tsui is also a good place...a lot of big shopping centres...and a lot of shops on Granville Road (cheap clothing)....A lot of young trendy people also like to shop in Causeway Bay.....Jes, if you are really coming to HK, and need a shopping tour guide, just give me a buzz..hehe... :-)

kahel . same like you , i am missing hkg too . i miss it's safe enviroment .strange isn't it? hkg is protrayed in films as a city warzone - where triads and tricksters are everwhere . but i feel very safe in hkg . no where in the world would i dare to travel alone in a double decker bus or walk in the mtr or take the train or the taxi or even walk to my place at midnight and feel perfectly safe . not in malaysia where i never does any of the above after 9pm. in hkg , i walk into depts stores , concert halls , libararies in my very casual clothings and i do not see silly clothes restrictions ( in malaysia - libraries does not allow sleeves ts , sandals , tattered jeans or shorts. concert halls expects all to be dressed in smart causals ( not sandals , sport shoes , jeans or open-neck t-shirts . those seeking cultures and knowlege must dress nicely . tk you. snobs @#$*).
p.s. beside attending jay concerts , i also watch a musical - in contonese , titled - the border town. it's excellent . i suggest ppl visiting hkg next time to look into the programes offered by the cultural centre - many are in english n international and reasonably priced . taking a walk or a bus or mtr after a symphony or a musical - another wonderful way to enjoy hkg. of cos , if jay has a concert there - it must not be missed .ha. ha.

that's a great tip for some cultural slice of HK, phoebe!
i never knew that was the case in Malaysia! so strict!

what i miss most about HK will be the latest CDs that are readily available elsewhere apart from HMV! and the accessibility of the subway to all points of interest! plus the neverending bustle, the place was just about to come alive around 10pm!! :excited:

Phoebe, yeh I've heard about clothes restrictions in Malaysia, but didn't know they actually have dress codes in public libraries ?!? what the ?!? :glug:

Meli, we really should organise a karaoke get-together when you gals come to HK next time... :excited: Miffy will definitely come along..hehe... :-)

Did you gals go to Central the last time you were here? there are some really cool shops in the inner streets (but not cheap :? )..and the Soho area has a lot of nice and fancy restaurants and cafe's etc...(Jay said he now loves to go there)..

Btw, Edison's shop is called "Juice" and it's in Patterson Street (If I'm not wrong.. )

I hope nobody minds if I butt into this forum, but yeah, I'm living in HK and thought I'd just drop by. Only moved here a few months ago though, that's why my English doesn't suck as bad as many of the locals here. ^_^

I really miss HK. I like the feeling of following that arrow for the MTR.
hehe, when I read that I just thought that it was really funny. Personally, when I walk to the MTR station from school(Delia Memorial School Hip Wo in Kwun Tong - yeah, I know...long name) I don't see those signs. O.o Well maybe that's because I'm stalking cute guys while I'm at it...:D

There's this building... Where all the pirate go.. Whaha... what's it called?
Do you mean Sino Centre on Nathan Road? Because there's a whole bunch of pirated stuff there. Also Anime, music, DVDs and some very X-rated others... :(

yup it's called *juice*.. it's like an exclusive shop... there aren't any signboards outside the building... it's on the 2nd floor of one the "mansions" along paterson st, where they have signature shops like max mara, vivienne westwood...

my friend n i had a hard time locating it... had to ask the sales ladies from the other shops.. :shy:

There's this building... Where all the pirate go.. Whaha... what's it called? They sell lots of toy collectibles and of course lots and lots of pirated vcds & cds.. something Ho one... I remember my friend was telling me how they operate the illegal vcd selling there...

Well, I know there are a lot of pirated PC and PS games sold at "Wong Gum" at Shum Shui Bo.....but now all the shops are closed ...but it's still there just more covert  ...just give them a list of what you want and come back later to pick up

If you go to "Law Wu Shing" in Shum Zheng....there are a lot of fake DVDs....cheap too...i bought mine for $4 RMB per movie....that's like 70 australian cents :D ...but u have to search around

Anyway, I once went to this place in Mongkok called "Ho King" Plaza (at the end of "Lady/Women Street"....where they sell all those car gadgets and model guns)...and my relatives told me there were fakes selling there...so of course I went there  .....and it ended up to be selling all these porn VCDs :glug: .......and they were even showing them on the TV (like to "promote" some of them)

And i realli remember it, 'cos it was like one-way because there were so many men there...and so I had to walk like a whole circuit around all those shops before I could get back to the escalators to go back down......everybody was looking at me, wondering what the hell this girl (I was like 15 back then) was doin' here + there were these "triad"-looking ppl .....sitting in front of the stores on stools... just smoking and staring at me......prob. think i am a undercover policewoman/customs ready to "com dong" (ie. close the shop and arrest ppl) or worse still think that I am coming to buy some porn VCDs or even a "chicken" looking for some customers (拉客)!! LOL

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I have to tell everyone of “My Bad Experience in Trying To Buy D調的華麗 in HK” story

If I remember correctly I asked Candy a few posts back some Q on trying to buy the book in HK……

So, then I told my relatives in HK to hurry up and pre-order it for me in order to get the box during last weekend (ie. as I read somewhere that I had to pre-order it before Sunday 21/11 to get the box).

Hence, I instructed both my aunts - “go zher” and “ah yi” – to go to Sino Centre in Mongkok…go up to the 2nd level and look for the shop directly facing the escalators. In the end, only one went…because they say that there are too many ppl around Fa Yuen St nowadays, especially on the weekends and since my other aunt lives in HK Island, not Kowloon, she was reluctant to go.

Anyway the one who went asked them whether they could pre-order the book ….but the stupid sales told my aunt to phone the day before the book is due to arrive (ie. 24/11)….so I was like what?!??!

And I told my aunt on the phone that there would be a box when she buys the book….but the saleswoman said there might be none…..is she hogging all of them or what?
‘cos she explained that when the books come in…there maybe 10 boxes for 10 books or just like 1 box for 10 books….she couldn’t tell in advance.

By this time I was angry :-x already, ‘cos from what I read off the web at different sites (even at Alfa BBS), that’s not what is supposed to be. So, now I am frustrated (+ also there is a chance I may have no box)……. perhaps I should have bought it in Australia instead! (but when I buy one Jay thing over here… I could have bought 2.5 units of the same thing in HK…….so I feel it’s a bit rip-off, particularly with the HK bargaining mentality! :bleh: )

After my long rant, I will tell u guys how my book buying eventually goes .........

my sis got discount tics (we were supposed to sit somewhere up the top)..but when we got in the usher brought us to the 4th row...we thought she'd mistaken and told her but she said there were a lot of empty seats at the front so we can move down (to make the show look 'better' )...we were so lucky...cos those seats were like over $1000 each.. :glug: anyway, the show was awesome...they sang so well, and it was an Aussie cast !! :excited:

Hello!

After reading the previosu posts... :brows: I'm :excited:

I didn't know that so many people consider HK as such a safe city, well I know that many people fall in love with the city including Jay, who we know loves shopping here :brows:

Because I don't go our at night much, I haven't noticed the security feeling :? But I'm sure, gals are right! :shifty:

 About the pirated stuff sold here in Mong Kok, I didnt' know that much! I used to buy pirated CDs in China, but I haven't in HK because I was afraid of the police :shy:

By the way, I didn't know about Edison's shop, what does it sell? I'm not kinda fan of him

candy : hi friend  I haven't bought mp3 player  but my dad bought me a electronic translator :excited: At least it's sth... but I haven't given up my mp3 player haunting! :-x

Hi Candy, thanks. Sure, i will PM you when i am going over. Should be 19 to 20 Dec. Leaving on 21 Dec.

Jay just ended his concert in Singapore. I went for both nights. The 2nd one was much better than the 1st nite. Right now, online in Singapore are selling Jay's figurings at S$50 each. Do you think i can get it in HK at a lower rate? Have you bought his latest book? Do you have any idea when he having his autography session in HK, he is having it in TW on 21 and 22 Dec (if i am not wrong).

Well, from the looks of it....seems like I won't get the box with it after all.....so I'm kinda dissappointed  ...and still tossing up whether to buy it yet or wait

my aunt went back to the shop in MongKok and asked them....and they said those boxes were all "sold-out" in the first 2 days of pre-order!?! I mean I knew it would be popular but not "that" popular.

So HK ppl like Candy, if u go past a shop during travelling to work or shopping-time....and see they are still selling a box-set of D調的華麗............can you tell me the whereabouts u saw it.....so I will tell my aunt to go there IMMEDIATELY. Thanks

(like sometimes in HK....I know that the shop will say its sold out....but then u go back and u see it and they sell it for a HIGHER price :-x , especially products with gifts like boxes or bonus posters........even though they know its not correct)

Hey Lina  you got an electronic dictionary ?!? those are cool !
yeh...we should go shopping...maybe next weekend or the week after ?! will PM you !!

Jes, I haven't noticed any Jay figurines over here... :glug: is that sold separately ?!?
cos the only figurine I remember was the one that came with "The One" concert vcd or something.. As with Jay's new book I bought it for HKD$95...which is cheaper than getting it at large bookstores (they sell it for $120)...
Not sure when they'll re-organise the 7LX autograph session...his world tour schedule looks tight though.. :? but Alfa has promised that they will hold it....at the moment they haven't announced anything...

sesamestreet, yeh, because the special box is only in limited quantity, so the earlier you order the greater chance you'll get it with the box...I did consider ordering it online (through the publisher) at first....but have to pay double (because the postage is about the price of the book).. :glug: anyhow, will let you know if I do see it !

Yes, i think there is four or five of them. You can buy one or a set, buy all will be a little cheaper. Right now, selling in Singapore. This set is different with "The One" figurine.

Jes, so are the figurines like what Meli said, like plush toys, or they're those plastic figurines? yeh, I'd love to have the plush ones too, they're cuuute ~

The HK edition 7LX (with basketball tank and pass) is still available at some CD shops..so you might be able to get it when you're here...costs over HKD$100 (around $130).

Meli, no news about the Macau concert as yet...hope to hear from the fanclub soon..

I think it is just a plastic figurines, from what i see is only the head part. From my own view, i don't think it is worth to buy.

Hi all. I have never been in this thread and in HK.. BUT.....

OMG! I am going to HK in Dec!! Actually still waiting to see if my friend wants to come along. BUt I think I will go even if I go alone. Especially for this show (http://www.sanmiguel.com.hk/wdo/index.jsp?sub_nav=grand_show).

mliza, yes, I guess I can go straight to Macau after work (catch the ferry downstairs from my office.. )..say the concert starts at 8pm, if I finish work at six o'clock sharp and rush to catch the ferry...I think I can make it....It only takes about an hour to get there..it's just that it'll be so rushed..and I don't know if I can leave right on time...cos I have to work over-time everyday... or perhaps I can take half day off.. :glug:

Hello  Happy New Year

Lina, I'm not sure where you can get those MP3's actually.. :glug: I guess you can ask for the brand and model at the shops...hey we still haven't arranged a shopping "get-together" yet..hehe

honeybee, no you're not slow..Alfamusic and Sony still haven't got their conflicts settled..
so they still can't release the CD...some record shops said they're not certain of the release date, and some said it'll be released sometime later this month (I hope)..

oh..as you all know, (announced on the papers yesterday) the Macau concert's cancelled..But the thing is it hasn't been officially announced so we're still waiting...I'm not disappointed at all...we're all too sadden by what's been happening lately that I don't even have the mood to watch it this month...or the next..

Just need to go back to the travel agency to see what to do with those concert and ferry tickets..

Yeah... the shopping.. I have exams after this week, what about u? wanna go after the final exams to relax? Though I don;t think I would buy anything ( cashlacking ), but it will be much fun!

yeah i think it's a good idea. though they aren't directly affected, at least they could show some sympathy or consideration...

on a selfish note, i'll have more time to consider going to the concert..

have a peaceful new year everyone~!

Hello everyone, hope all are well, haven't been here for a while. Just wondered if anyone has ordered or decided which live concert to buy - DVD or VCD? It seems both have slightly different extras and it's annoying 'cos i don't want to have to buy both. I hate it when companies do that, i know they make money but it's so unfair to try and make us shell out for both :-x I wonder if Jay has a say in it.....doubt it, but he should know most of his fans are students and can't really afford to buy everything. Oh well, for those of you who are broke - hang on! it's nearly Chinese new year so hold on and be good so you can get your red packets!! :wink2: Happy Chinese New Year!

Hi everyone. First time leaving a post here.

I'm having difficulty choosing it too. I seldom watch vcds, i like watching stuff on dvd more. But they're different and I think the cover for vcd is much nicer *to my opinion* It's such a hard choice. And I'm really broke. Any suggestions?

Btw, do you think if there would be different Jay products in Macau than in HK? Because I'm going to Macau in the Chinese New Year holidays and it would be lovely if I could buy more Jay things to add to my collection. :shifty:

Maybe you could ask for an early b'day present if you haven't had your b'day yet? or ask some kind soul to buy it for you and pay them back later? probably the best bet is to do all the rounds with the relatives and try to get as many red packets as possible! If you can wait, you could wait for other members to compare the two and then decide.

You going to Macau for new year? I just went there a few weeks ago too! bought lots of almond cookies and biscuits, so yummy. I doubt that many different products to HK as it's so close but it wouldn't do any harm to check; and let us know 'k?! Have a nice time.

hi hongkongers,

yes.. me too...... I haven't been in here for a long time as well!!......but the regulars like candy and lina are a bit quiet as well??

it's getting close to CNY time :-) ...even though i don't live in HK....we still celebrate it and so those the chinese community here as well

anyway, i told my relatives that instead of giving me "red packets" money.....they could buy me some Jay stuff instead and send it over....

so I told my aunt to buy me the "Grandeur in D Major" + "Iron Box of Island" together (and another relo for the "Incomparable" sets) ....since I still haven't got them yet  ...'cos i was planning to go to HK in late Jan, so I could buy it myself but then i suddenly had to go to uni for courses and research instead........

however, she says its now HKD$120 = D Major + $110 for Iron Box......so I was like what a rip-off!?!?
since I remembered....that you could get it for $90 at Sino Centre in Mongkok....but they have run out!!

Wondering whether anyone has seen it cheaper in HK?

r&bmate

Sesame street, you can buy "Grandeur in D Major" (about $95 HK) easily but "Iron Box" is more difficult to find in the shops these days,'cos it's been published for a long time already.Ask your aunt to try bookstores in Mongkok malls,as you say, where they sell clothes & things catering mainly for the younger group.

HI, yeah the prices are thereabouts, I got GDM for $110 which was the cheapest i could find and Iron Box for $115, weird how it's more expensive than his new book?! I guess they wanna cash in on that as well. Sino centre were selling GDM at $120 the last time i checked, I guess they upped the price once word got around that they were selling for cheaper so it doesn't matter where your relatives get it from, unless they don't mind hunting around (if you ask nicely!) I'll let you know if they've put the prices down again. Iron Box is harder to find, but you could check out big book stores like 'page one' and if they don't have it in stock maybe they can order it for you. Now that his new book is out, it's more likely they'll have the old one as well to entice those who haven't bought it to buy it too  Have you checked yesasia?

I have a question too: i've just read that those who bought the live CD + MV in Singapore got a poster when they purchased it, is it the same in HK too? If not, why not?! :-x It should be the same everywhere! but i'll wait for a reply before i get my knickers in more of a twist over nothing!

lily
02-04-2005, 04:27 PM
momo_j: no. not every cd shop in hk will give u a poster, you may have to add money to get it. i had to add $10 (total:$100) to get the cd+the poster. But I recommend you to buy it in Central little cd shops. They're a lot cheaper. I bought mine in Causewaybay.

momo_j
02-06-2005, 03:26 PM
thanks for the reply lily, i bought them the next day and found out for myself! i had to add $10 for the posters, though i really don't know why i buy the posters 'cos they just sit in my room gathering dust!

sesamestreet: saw GDM $2 cheaper at $108, any help?!?! it's probably cheaper in other small centres dotted around but i loathe going to those crowded places.

mliza

i also noticed that in HK stores. they sell the cd and poster separately, when i think the poster should be given for free??

but i guess you get to have the cd at a cheaper price without the poster...

hello HK friends :-)

I would like to know about the price of Jay's DVD concert coz here in thailand, Dvd will be imported from Taiwan and it's really expensive.

lily
02-24-2005, 04:05 PM
momo_j: Oh, me too. My posters are kept in a corner. I might consider sticking them in my room after I have moved to my new home. I didn't get the vcd/dvd poster though, because my friend bought it for me and the shop didn't give her one. And I want to get it back. BUT in CauseWayBay, they sell it for the sake of $50!!!!!!!! I definitely won't buy a poster for $50!!!

QingQing: I think the Dvd is around $108 if in small cd shops. I'm not sure about the price in HMV though but I'm sure it's much more expensive than the price I just mentioned. I'll help you check that out and edit it here tomorrow.

Hello, Jay's fans in HK  I'm thai people. I will go to HK next month for shopping. So I think someone here will clarify my doubt about HK, won't you? :wink2:

And How's about the weather in HK next month? (April) I will prepare the clothes for right weather! Thailand is very hot  , hope in HK will more cold than here. lol.

And where's the place that I can find some Jay's stuff such as his books, his cds, his posters or else? And if I'm rest in hotel near Nathan. (Sorry, I can't spell it  ) How will I go to buy Jay's stuff?

Last question, I heard that electric things are cheaper than here so I think I'll buy mp3 player from HK. How much of mp3 player that have space round 1.5 GB or more?

Thanks in advance! :thanks:

Hi Amante ,

Though I am not a HK people, hope I can help you too.

I think the weather should be around 20 to 26 degrees, this is just a range cause I don't know when you are going over.

I went to a shopping centre called "Sino Centre" along Nathan Road, if I am not wrong. Its near to Mongkok MTR Station. Candy (HK fan) brought me there. You can find alot of F4 things there, if you like them too, but I think Thailand has also alot of their merchandise.

You just go into any CDs stores and ask but it will be better if you can speak Canto. I usually go to the basement then go to the 2nd floor. But take note, there might be police raids(quite offen, i feel), as there is some shops selling RA items in the 3rd and 4th floor.
Posters are usually sold at HK$10 each. You must let me know which one you want, like the cover of QLX or YHM? CDs price depends. When I was there, I found the Karaoke version of the 1st Jay album, which I think is the only left in the shop.

What others you want to know, let me know again.

As for mp3, what brand you looking for? I think JNC is not bad.

Enjoy your trip in HK!

Hiya Amante! I'm from HK and I hope I can help you too.

The weather should be getting warmer I guess since now, we're like a few days of cold weather another another few days of warm weather. :/ It should be around 20-26 degrees like what Jes123 said.

I went to a shopping centre called "Sino Centre" along Nathan Road, if I am not wrong. Its near to Mongkok MTR Station. Candy (HK fan) brought me there. You can find alot of F4 things there, if you like them too, but I think Thailand has also alot of their merchandise.

Yes yes!!! Sino centre! There's lots of things to get there. You can get photos, stickers, mousepads and keychains there! And if you're interested, there should be China's JAY phonecards on sale too. Just take a walk around there. I suggest the basement too. The other floors don't have much. And it's pretty crowded there so beware of your personal belongings.

And mp3 players, I think their price are a bit cheaper than in other countries. But if you want to get ipod, just get it online. It's the same price in HK. And I don't know how to explain but there are some electrical products which in hk we call as "sui for" or "water products"? Haha I don't know how to say it but they're much cheaper because the shops get their stock from other places or what so ever. And the "sui for",some do have warranty some don't. But if you're living in Thailand, you won't go fix your stuff in HK anyway. Am I a bit confusing here? I'm sorry if I did confuse you. Hehe.

As for mp3 brands, I suggest JNC/iriver or perhaps samsung(yepp)? They're pretty good. Or creative?

Have fun in HK!

Amante

Thanks a lot for your details, Jes and lily.

I booked the tour already, 30 April to 3 May. Guys, 20-26 degrees isn't hot for me. lol. You know, in Thailand, it's about 34-40 degrees. Goshhhh......very hot! I turn on the air-conditioner everyday. I would die if I don't turn it on. Haha...

I can't speak Canto. By the way, I'll use my hand-language to communication them. Hope it can help me. Err...and why do police raid often? That place is sell about pirate stuff, isn't it? About Jay's stuff, I don't have a list to buy, I'll buy it all if I didn't have it before. :shifty: lol. And my friends are commit me to buy for them too. That's a lot of things. I think I'll take a big bag for keep Jay's stuff. :glug: Well, I can find all of his stuff in 'Sino Centre', right? Ok...Thanks for it.

I don't want ipod because it has a lot of space. Too much such as 20 GB or 40 GB, I can't use it all. I don't have many files or songs like that. So...I think I'll buy mp3player is better. About mp3player, I'll buy creative or iriver. Could you tell my how much of them that have space about 1.5 GB? I wanna know it cheaper than here or not. :? In thailand, it's about 200 $US.

Thanks, everyone. :wink2:

Jes123
04-03-2005, 05:37 PM
Amante > Yes, I think those shops at 3rd and 4th floor sells RAs items which are pirated.

As for mp3, I only can remember "Creative" mp3 can get cheaper in S'pore, the price in HK is about double in S'pore. In S'pore, Creative 1GB cost S$279 to S$299. There is one model(MuVo2 FM)-5GB cost S$299 during the recent Creative Fair. I have no info for Iriver mp3.

And you can get away with speaking half canto and half english and they understand you! (THe fact that my canto is not the best thats why hehe) The subway is probably the easiest thing around, its good now that the octopus cards can be used on all or most buses and metro. jes and jay_gf, i'm not sure about the sino centre in causeway bay, but the sino centre in Mong Kok has TONSSSSSSSSSS of korean dramas!!! the basement has a ton of CDs and Korean dramas. Almost all of the Korean dramas are subbed with English, but you should always ask the storeowner before. Also you should have them play the DVD to make sure that it actually works, since most of the DVDs are all fake. For more Korean dramas, you can also go to the Ladies Market in Mong Kok. Usually in one block there's at least 2-3 places that have a ton of korean dramas. They're much more popular than any other kind of drama in HK so I'm sure you should have no problem finding any!!!

jes i think there are a lot of places in causeway bay. most of the music/cd stores should all have korean music too~ hope this isn't too late =/

jay_gf i dont think you hafta worry about fakes too much. most of the time you can tell by what you pay for it, the plastic wrapping, and pretty much the store that you buy it from. if you buy it from a stall in a mall or on the street it's almost guaranteed to be fake. so if you want real CDs/DVDs, you should go to a big store with an actual sign for the store name

momo_j
10-17-2005, 04:31 PM
Many of you are looking for korean dramas/dvd's etc which can be found in most cd shops dotted around hk, many of the main places such as causeway bay, mong kok and tsim sha tsui have been mentioned already. If you want pirated goods then of course there is a risk especially with dramas which have alot of discs and shop owners may be a bit miffed if you ask to test all of them! Personally, i wouldn't recommend going to the ladies market, they're not that much cheaper and it's a hassle to find the stall again if you find something wrong with your purchase! The shops in sino centre are better, though as mentioned before, many were shut down in a raid, it was certainly quite empty when i last visited 2 months ago. However, some of the shops left do sell genuine korean/japanese things at reasonable prices.

Pyre - you should be 18 for drinking and clubs, but be careful what clubs you go to as some are notorious for drugs and triads. it would be better to go to the ones in Lan Kwai Fong where there's more of a mix of locals, overseas chinese and expats. HK is generally quite safe so don't worry and have fun.

hi jes, i think you can still try sino centre as some stores are back and there are shops that sell photos and memorabilia which you might be interested in.

you can try a shop called 'wide sight' for your dvds and the prices are reasonable. there are 2 shops in tst - one is mtr exit b and the other is exit a which is easier to find. not sure where the one in causeway bay is. there's another in mong kok exit e, sai yeung choi street south, the street parallel to sino centre so you can check them out at the same time. i hope you don't have trouble finding them and you find what you're looking for. hope this helps - good luck.

i love bubble milk tea, the best one i've had so far is in a little taiwanese place in yau ma tei.

fluffysheep: there's not much going on after Dec 20th, what about Karen Mok's musical 'Rent' which is playing from 13-20th Dec? you can get more info from the link in panda's post above. It should be good, well, it better be 'cos i'm going!

panda: you can try the Fortress website which has all the prices and will let you compare products and prices too : http://www.fortress.com.hk/en/product/computer/notebook/index.html

also: http://www.ibroadway.com.hk
though i didn't find this a very useful site, you can check out some of their special prices on select products.

Some of the smaller shops you can try are 'Tai Lin' and 'Chung Yuen'. I would also recommend trying 'Yau Shing Commercial Centre' in Mong Kok for different product ranges and you should definitely bargain for a good price. The best prices are on 'parallel imports', which are much cheaper than the products in the chain stores. I bought my digital camera from there recently as did my friend, so I would suggest you go there to see the price differences.

For computers, you can try Mongkok or Wanchai Computer Centre. Let me know if you need any more help.

Hi, I'm from HK.
It says on the Jay2U website (the Jay Chou official HK website) that Jay is having a concert in Kowloon Bay...on the 24th. But the thing is, we called the centre it was taking place, and they didn't even know they were holding a concert for Jay!
Could it just be a dud?
Pepsi calls it an Xmas Launch, but the concert is two weeks away, and my mom and I can't seem to be able to buy tickets anywhere. Not that we can when the mall itself doesn't know it's holding the concert...

thanks for the info! although it doesn't say anything about tickets...so i'm assuming first come, first serve?

plus it appears that the two events are unrelated/at different times and places at the same day...so theoretically you could see him twice in the same day?? HAHA

Actually there is gonna be two jay events taking place that day.

For the xmas launch with pepsi, the tickets are not open to public for sale. Lucky members of www.jay2u.com will be chosen in the lucky draw and they will be offered 2 tickets each.

As for the apm one, its free of charge so it's first come first serve and it's from 11pm-12:30 am. Hope it helps!

Hi mliza  I went to see the last performance of Rent and it was very enjoyable and Karen Mok's performance was also very good considering it was her 1st musical. She's got a powerful voice on her and she's soooo skinny! She really must eat more! I guess it went well with her character though as she was playing a HIV drug addict. I would recommend watching this musical if you get a chance.
Anybody going to see the Queen show?

I went to the Karen Mok concert... the only enjoyable part for me was when Eason came out =.=

I went to see the Justin Lo concert One Good Show!! It was FANTASTIC! Justin is like one of the best Hong Kong cantonese/english singers now XP

Stanlore: Yep, it's all past now... I was sick and couldn't go

Aww you are so lucky!!

All the overseas fans in the Justin Lo thread on JCNet are saying how they wish they could..

Yeah, it seems he's quite popular 'cos he had 2 more additional shows after the 'one good show'. Don't listen to J Lo (either of them!), but i'm sure we'll be hearing more from him.

There's been quite a few concerts recently, the Coliseum and its schedule has been jam-packed. The F4 concert was fun and some nice eye candy! David Tao was fantastic (i did a mini review in the DT thread), hope he'll play again soon.

Yeah there were actually 3 Justin concerts in total, the one I went to was his first show, One Good Show. The other two I think they changed the name to "Two Good Shows" or something? Anyways, Justin said he might take off his hat during his concert.... but nooooo...

I wish the paparazzi didn't post that piece of news about Justin out! It's so unfair! Justin was building up his career so GREATLY but then suddenly coz of the paparazzi news *poof* turns into a shy guy... and the mystery of his hair revealed.... poor guy!

Anyways in the concert, he held hands with Leo Ku... that part was one of the MOST FUNNIEST parts in the concert. Thier conversation was soooooo funny...

Leo: Look at my belt, I was going to give it to you as a present
Justin: Really? Take it off right here on the stage and give it to me then
Leo: Nah I was thinking of taking it off at your house.

-Another Part-

Leo: You know, if they were ever going to make a cantonese version of "Brokeback Mountain" they should get Justin and I to be the leading roles

-Another Part-

Leo: Let's hold hands and sing this song!
Justin: Yeah!

And then leo's hand SLOWLY inched towards Justins... Justin grabbed onto it soo fast XP Around a minute of walking around and holding hands Leo shouted: enough *in the funny way* and let go so fast XP He just couldn't stand it XP :bleh:

I was wondering where are some locations that has free wifi access in HK?

And does anyone have recommendations on affordable prices for hotel or residence that I can rent for about a month for about 3-4 people? It seems very hard to look for an affordable place  I've tried YWCA since they have monthly rentals but I don't know if it's only for females.

Any HK peeps here lately? Nobodies been talking much ==

Lots of teenagers in Hong Kong are preparing for their exams lately (Espeicially the ones doing HKCEE) and nobodies been talking much.

panda_shine: I don't know much about the hotels in Hong Kong, but have you tried YMCA (The one in Tsim Sha Tsui is a hotel). I strongly recommend to not got to one of those dingy small hotels (or we call them bun gwuans) coz there not as good.

The Hong Kong Coliseum is filled for the whole year or something (I heard from my friend) Mayday's going to perform soon~~ :-) I soooo want to go but nobodies going with me == I should have just bought a ticket to go myself.

Did anyone watch the Jan Lam comedy talk show Mow dai pun fang?

I DEFINITELY recommend it. It's... Ging gao shiew, chiew dai nan XD I loved the sushi bit and the Infernal Affairs part. He was saying that Hollywood should've just directly used the HK version and just dub it into english "3 years and 3 years, 3 years and 3 years, 10 years coming la boss!" But the part where I laughed the most was the sports part. :D

bebyjaystaa: You should :) But FRH is sayign that they might have to stop coming to Hong Kong. The Hong Kong fans are so violent = =

Gonna take a trip there soon ... wanna know where are good places to shop such as wholesale factory kinda clothings or interesting unique shops that I can visit. Any good recommendations??? I heard about this HK Industrial building, but have no idea where it is.

Issit accessible via MTR? If so, which is the nearest station?

Sweet Neko: OH MY GOD! YES! That show was ah-mazing. GING GAU SIU! XD I really like the part where he imitated a typical young HK girl talking. It's hilarious!

Sweet Neko

hil_sky: HAHHAHA YES!!! I love that part! "Meh ah? Sik SHUSHE ah chiew dai nun. Tong loor wan ah a ging gao siew... pai gun dui ah!" HAHA... and they included the speaking part in Shrek 3 as well! I actually never realised that I was talking like that until I watched the show lol. I hope he holds another one soon XD

cacky: Welll nearly all the places in Hong Kong are accessible via MTR or KCR. If your looking for clothes, go to Mong Kok's famous Fa Yuen Gai and Nu Yun Gai. <Just go to the Mong Kok stop> For wholesale products... I'm not sure where those are >< But I defintiely dont recommend Tsim Sha Tsui (the typical tourist place) or central or admiratly so on places unless your rich. Really rich. Wan Chai is a good place though, to shop at. There's a Sogo there, you can't miss it. But if your looking at clothes then i really recommend Mong Kok :-) Enjoy your trip

We need to start a part 2 soon O3o

Sweet Neko: HAHAHA XD You actually remember the whole thing XD When the girl's phone was ringing, he like "fing" the phone so the keychains go to the back. It's so funny to watch. I also like the songs where he changed the lyrics. So creative. XD If he holds another one, I'm soo gonna get the tickets.

my053- from my experience of buying jay's concert ticket . you can walk in and buy from the tiket office at the coliseum or the cultural centre ( that located next to (the old the kowloon side star ferry ). it's possible if u are buying single tickets but if u want to buy a few seats together , then maybe a problem .
