ME! i am using Sony Ericsson K600i! is a 3G phone, that i bought not long ago, around valentine day since there's offer! i bought it at $250! one thing i dont like sony ericsson is that sometimes it will lag abit. i dont know if other phones got anot. but mine got! is like the phone kena "virus" and the screen will shows ZigZag thingy before it goes to the normal screen

Hello all SE users!

I'm not an SE user but I do know of a website which showcases all the upcoming hp models of various brands. Here's (http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_k800-1485.php) the page of SE K800.

This phone practically caught my eye when I first saw it! I was like so in love with the design and of course with quite a powerful built in cam. I was thinking if I should get this model for my next hp. But I've got feedbacks from SE users that SE lags quite abit like what Jas said. So I'm waiting for more feedbacks for those who bought this phone when it launches on the market.

And I wouldn't fork alot of money for a new phone so perhaps I would wait a few months later before investing money on it.

actually it is very normal for SE phones to jam a bit and stuffs...compare to nokia who just switch itself off out of the blues. but i really didnt hear of cases like SE phones getting virus.

i use to be a motorola fan but ever since i switch over to my k750i i gave up and went to SE. i have been eyeing on k800i since jan till now... the design of the phone is really brilliant and the back of the phone is simply...STYLO MILO!:excited:

I am using SE K750i now!
Used Nokia for years, then samsung, panasonic for some time, till my previous VS2 swam in a pool of water and drown.
After which i got K750i. So far so good. Love the phone. Just that the memory given with the phone is quite small, as compared to W800i, which my boyfriend is using. Both of us switched to SE not long ago.
So far, there is no hanging problem with my hp... **cross fingers**

I have Sony Erricson k700i but i am not using it anymore... The picture quality when you take it is good, and you can zoom in, but after you have taken the picture, you cannot zoom in anymore, making it pretty difficult to see all the faces if it's a very big picture... The handphone also hangs sometimes... Hopefully it's only mine...

I am currently using a Nokia 6670.. changing to a Nokia N-series phone soon.. Still used to Nokia more, for the sms space key is different for nokia and SE.. Nokia is '0' key while SE is '#' key...

haha... i am a SE user too... also using K750i... been using nokia for my past 2 previous phones... i think its okay except that it lags a little but comparing it to nokia, it seldom hangs and never switches itself off for no reason... i think its quite good...

aye phone lagging is very normal. so far of all the phones i've used, they either lag or blank out themselves or their speakers wont sound at all.

one thing bout SE phone is that u can never afford to drop them. if u did...then that might explains why it keep lagging. it is actually very normal for an SE to stuck.

many people thought it is bad. but then compare to nokia which will on and off itself after sometime...i think most of us here will rather to have the phone lag than to off itself and lost datas...right?:shifty:

Another K750i -black- user in Singapore here, and I have also been eyeing on K790/K800 (the difference is only that K800 is 3G so it have dual camera, but some sources also said that K790 got no Radio).

So far I'm satisfied with my K750i, but this phone will cause you problems if you use firmwares prior to R1AA008... I waited until this firmware before I bought the phone on January, because my friend's K750i has been having erratic behavior with other firmwares. Now the R1BC002 is out and I'm thinking whether I should upgrade... I will lose all settings and memory (can save somewhere first but too much work especially copying the contacts back and forth)... is it worth it?

I like my 750i but the problem is it cant play wma files. mp3 files are generally so much bigger than wma files and take up so much space. Is there any program to convert wma too mp3 format?
I just got my k750i not long ago so maybe it is the upgraded software already. So far no hanging problem yet. :sealed:

Here's how you check the software, Esther.

Do this sequence: right - star - left - left - star - left - star (>*<<*<*)
The rights and lefts are done by pressing your joystick and the star is the bottom left-most key. Don't be afraid if the menu you have set for the right direction appears, just continue the sequence, i.e. if you set the right direction for Inbox, your Inbox will appear after you press right. Don't worry and just continue the sequence with star-left-left and so on, you'll get the hang of it eventually.

You should see Service Info, Service Tests and Text Labels. If it doesn't appear maybe your press is wrong. Yes this is quite hard to do with K750i's joystick if you're not used to it, because it is a 8-direction joystick, not a 4-direction so you might be pressing upper left or lower left when you meant to press left.

Go to Service Info then Software Info, the first line like "R-something" is your software version. Hope that helps.

Oh i tried! mine is R1AA008... Not the latest software though but its ok!

Mine is R1AA008 too, it is enough and it is stable. Anything below it is crap.

Oh, and did you know that R1AA008 is the first software for K750i that supports multi-character searching? Like when you go to the address book and for instance you want to search for "Zhou Jielun" you can type "ZH" and you will be taken to the name with the "ZH" in front.

Before R1AA008 it behaves like the other older SE phones. You type Z you go to the first entry on Z then you type H you go to first entry on H, can't type ZH to look "Zhou Jielun". You have to type Z and scroll down yourself, like I have to do with my old S700i.

So yes, R1AA008 is the minimum software level you'll need to own on K750i.

Hello fellow SE users ^^. I'm using the W810i now. I've been eyeing the W950i but my previous K700i decided to die before the phone is out so I got the W810i instead. Its a cool phone.. the sound quality is good, the pic quality is good as well.. 2.1megapixel gives you decent pics. The only thing i dun like is you can't charge and use the handsfree at the same time unlike the K700i. Only alternative is getting a bluetooth earpiece or an extra battery. Bummer.

I am using k600i. It has a lot of function that i love, radio and mp3 player. But two drawbacks are
1. it doesn't have external memory
2. the buttons are hard to press and it needs some getting used to:)

The newer version is much better because its lighter and it doesnt have the bad points of k600i

I totally want the Cybershot phone. Sony Ericsson phones have this strange way of attracting someone who doesn't really give a damn about handphones - like me. Before the Cybershot came out I wanted the Walkman but well, the Cybershot is cooler and newer so I want that now.

I currently use the...T630. Like, yeah, the super old one. But I've dropped it more times than I care to remember and it still works perfectly well so I'm happy with it. My first one was the T100 (it was also my first phone EVER). That one really sucked.

LOL, i am using the T630 too, i have problem with the joystick thinggy after using it for some time which makes me wish i can strangle it and tell it to work properly sometimes. xD

But then again, forget it, i will change a better phone when it's time for upgrading.

I'm using W700i, and is lovin' it. It is affordable for a walkman phone, and I can listen to about 40 songs on a 256MB memory stick. One of my previous phones was a K508i...not bad too. Heh heh...I love SE phones!

But on the inside........ cos I have been using their phones for ages.. before I made the switch over to SE phones...

And.. i never regretted making the switch...

Well for me I use S.E. K800i

Its a great phone, great imaging capabilities, good bass, etc.

But I hate the low speaker volume and the low video resolution.

Many other users of this phone resorted to hacking the phone and it works, but I am unable to, cause I just updated to a newer firmware and the hacks only works for older firmwares...

To extend the "I have never had a Nokia phone" record, i got myself another Sony Ericsson, this time a K800i.

I think it got all the functions i ever wanted, so i am happy with it. All i hope is the joystick don't give me any problem like my T630. And i think SE phones are pretty durable, i dropped it a few times but they are still working properly. Best suited for careless and rough-handling people. :tongue:

I didn't realise that there is such a thread in this forum. haha. Anyway, to add on to the list, i'm a sony ericsson user too!! I'm using S500i the black colour one with green key pad. Not a very fantastic phone since it just have those normal features which other phones have but i bought it not because of the features but more of the style. The phone is slim and it's my first slide phone so i choose this. Simply love the green key pad and the side lights. hehe.
