I don't hate her. The songs Jay made for Jolin were pretty well sung. She's not that bad looking although I heard a lot of rumours that she has cakes of makeup on her face etc. I don't know her personality so I couldn't hate her for that. She just seems to hold back a lot on interviews e.g. The one where they asked if anything was between her and Jay and when the interviewer asked a question, he was apparantly, silent.

I think what Karen meant about people disliking her after that video is this: It shows that she has no talent!

She's can't sing, can't dance, can't do anything. She has no charisma, no charm, no original anything.

I think quite the opposite, I think she's sometimes cute because she has pretty eyes. But I think she's just stupid and the only thing that's making her famous is her looks. If someone comes along that's as cute as her with MORE talent, more PERSONALITY, and more CHARM, then Jolin's days in the spotlight are over.

But anyway, I don't hate her, neither I like her. I like her magic 72 album, but don't go beyond that because I think what makes her album good is the producers. (esp. Jay) BUt her voice is average, her dance is just-okay, and her face is not even beautiful. So I kept wondering, what makes her so BIG?

And I think she doesn't have that charisma and the confidence in herself. She's always get too oversensitive of what other thinks about her (like how she could stop eating for 2 days if someone commented that her arms look chubbier). She depended on what others think about her so much.... it's like she doesn't have her own identity.

But, she works hard to gain what she has now, and I appreciate that from her.

Hey louislpk, it's great to see someone who enjoys Jolin's latest CD! Yes, I think all her songs were well sang; she basically improved a lot. I think it's because she puts tons of emotion to it.

I might think too much, but I always think those sad songs were truly her feelings...(rumors of the break up and such). Such as "Jia Mian De Gao Bai", "Zuo Yi Tian De Ni", and "Nu Li Chuan", etc.

Her album did top the chart for 10 weeks consecutively or more...but it did not sell as well as Jay's. I think...correct me if I am wrong.

As to whether Jay likes her or not??? Who knows? Who am I to judge? But if, and that is only if they were really together before...I kinda think Jolin were much more intense about the relationship than Jay.

Sorry, that's just my opinion...don't kill me.

I like her Magic 72, I have to agree that it is one of the best album for this time around. But anyhow..., I think the magic really lies on 3 Jay's compositions. If you pay attention, that her "Shou Ai Ni" and "Bu la de Guang Chang" is like the major weapons of this album. I bought her album because of Jay's composition. Her voice do improve, but if you compare her voice with other Taiwanesse singers (Elva, Landy, Coco, eVonne, Fan Fan, Xiao Xiao, Stef Sun, etc), I would say her voice is still average.

And I think she looks better with dyed hair, but it makes her look like another Ayu wannabe. And it's kind of hard to pretend that we don't see the similarity of her and Ayu's style now. >_<

I don't hate Jolin. I just dislike her immensely. Reasons are simple:

1. She is a mediocre singer. Check out her constipated singing on Jielun's beautiful "Ni Ze Mo Lian Hua Dou Shuo Bu Qing Chu". I mean, what the hell? She sounded like she was forcing something out of her, like yes, constipation. Her range is limited, as is her vocal ability. This applies somewhat to Jielun too, but for Jolin, it's unforgivable, because

2. She has no real musical talent. She has no sound of her own, unlike Jielun, who has the whole R&B down pat, like a pro. (He IS a pro.) Whereas Jielun compensates for his limited singing ability with his amazing song-writing ability, Jolin does nothing. She rips off from others, copies others' style, most notably Jielun's, and calls that an album. What the hell. I'd rather listen to William Hung. At least he can make me laugh.

3. She lip-synchs. I have no respect for people who do that. Which is why I hardly listen to Chinese pop, except Jielun.

4. She claims to have majored in English literature but she still needed help to translate a children's book. I take this quite personally because I live for not much but Literature, and if someone like her can major in the subject, I don't know what to say about the standard of English in whichever university she came from. And she is an insult to all English literature majors.

5. She acts cute. Woman, you are in your twenties. Please, act more your age. Once you get past the age of 17, you no longer have an excuse to act cute. Disgusting.

i wouldn't go to an extreme and say that i absolutely "hate" jolin, because i really don't know much about her in the first place, but like hisashiluv14, i pretty much dislike her =/. i think it's definetely been established that she tries too hard, hasn't got her own style, and literally being credited for great songs that are composed by other people (such as Jay Chou).

also the whole anorexic thing has been mentioned already x.x. when my cousin from taiwan told me that jolin weighed around 80 pounds, i couldn't believe it. i just think it's gone too far.

and as for her "musical ability", she just can't adapt her voice or modify it to express a certain emotion or style. for example, in Hai Dao, Jay changed his voice to fit with the pirate theme, and yet Jolin's voice remained the same. flat, bland, and rather out of place, if you as me.

Personally, the only songs that are good by jolin were produced by Jay, so that says a lot heh. I don't know, it must be her voice, it does get pretty annoying and monotone throughout most of her songs. Not to mention in her MVs her dancing is atrocious, yet she dances a LOT. Her ballads are scratchy and don't appeal to me much in the way that Elva's would. She does have a strong point about her, and that's that she's dedicated in her field of work, and practices long hours for recordings and performances.

I don't know if your reasoning is right, but just because she has it in it for Jay doesn't mean she has to express herself freely about it. Perhaps there are more complications in their private matters that we don't know about, maybe communication problems that probably led to why they broke up initially. When you say that "she shouldn't hide it", it's almost like you're accusing her of something. She is actually really grateful that Jay and her are good friends, and all the help that Jay has provided for her wasn't instructed by Jolin in the first place. I just watched " Hi!! I don't buy her CD, regardless of Jay's compositions in there. And I think I know quite a lot of people who don't either. Me and my friends are JAY fans, but we don't buy everything that has Jay's name on/in it.

I also know a few fellows who like Jay and bought her CD, not because Jay had a hand in it, but because they like what they heard and saw. There are so many ugly people out there, who are also coming out with albums, are you gonna hate all of them?

William Hung is on a scale of 0(Ugly) to 10(Super beautiful) has a score of -3, you hate him too? Singers are there for us to look at, not marry, so does it really matter how pretty she is?

She's not so ugly looking actually. Sure her nostrils are big as heck. But physically, she does appeal to certain people (even if she is a bit fake and has no style). You can't say i hate her , that'll be doing injustice to the nights i've spent at K-Box singing her songs. They are catchy and pleasing to the ears , but i have to empahsise , SOME only
Some of her songs, like Prove it (Magic) , The Starter (Castle) serve no other purpose than proving her limited singing capability , however, Dao Dai (Castle) Is one rock ballad i like from Castle ,but she needs brushing up on her singing , she sounded as if she was trying to force herself sound sad , it had a reverse effect though , her range limits her to songs like 36 Tricks Of Love (Castle) and Its Love (Castle) . Ballads like Taste of Lemon Grass (Castle) deserve to be on the top 10 list of Worst Sung Songs Of The Year, Jolin is trying too hard. Some people i know say they don't like Jay because he can't sing, sure , they have all the right and freedom to dislike Jay, but the irony is, they are ardent fans of Jolin :dry: I don't understand how they can say Jay can't sing and yet they can worship Jolin like a goddess and treat her as the best singer ever born . And one thing, I'm not insulting Jolin for the sake of it
My point is, Yeah, Jay can't really sing like Jacky Cheung or Jeff Chang, but he composes music does'nt he???He knows he can't sing exceptionally well, and he admits it
But Jolin??? I repeat, she is trying too hard. But there are many others who agree with my view, so I am happy for her if she bags the Most Popular Female Singer award, but luckily so far, she has'nt been nominated for Best Female Singer. That proves my stand. But i really have to salute her company for having foresight , in placing all their attention on her image,appearance and fashion style , to some,her pretty appearance might make up for the weak singing. But to me, she is just a flower vase to decorate the music industry.

Thats it. Use of plastic pollutes the Earth. And yet Jolin can spend money to make HERSELF plastic . She is a plastic queen, someone mentioned. And i just can't tolerate people wearing fur or animal skins ( Remember her birthday bash?? ) That's why i hate her, Case closed.

i don't hate jolin i quite like her............... it jsut i don't like her becoz she doesn't have her own style like she copies people style like ayumi...........but she has really good songs and nice voice and can looks really pretty sometimes

I'm sorry. But i dont think i'm jealous of her in anyway except for the fact that she knows Jay chou the Great personally. :whistle:

But hey, we've got a choice in everything right? I know i dislike Jolin Tsai, but there's no way i'm jealous of her, in those ways that you've mention. She just doesnt appeal to me. Just like how some other artist or people doesnt appeal to you. That doesnt show that you're jealous right? :rolleyes:

well, i don think Jolin is pretty... she jus got a normal looking... i personally think that Elva is much prettier than her... n i don think Fans of Jay hate her cos Jay loves her! to clarify, Jay don love Jolin! they are jus good friends... i believe both Jay n Jolin will admit if they are together... n one most important thing, i personally don think there's anything to be jealous of Jolin abt... her vocal is very excellent too... she's only lucky to get so many good songs... i think Fish, Elva, Stef got a better vocal den Jolin... (Personal opinion, no offence to any fans)
