Have you guys seen the official Sony page for Jay?
http://www.sonymusic.com.hk/jay/

OK I've seen it spelt Chou, Chow, and Zhou, but never Chau...interesting.

Hmmm, that is a big mistake to make. Overall the site is very very bare. You'd think professionals would be able to put together a semi-decent site with useful information on it. Plus they've had all these months to do it, not even any new pictures for their flash work, only the stuff off the album booklet. Tsk Tsk.

yep, i got the link from One2free's Jay note page. Simple looking website with nice effects. I love the lady screaming sound on the startup. Unique!!

They should put Jay Chou instead of Chau. But i think Chau is cantonese pronunciation's spelling. Coz the 'hk' in the link tell us the site is made in hongkong.

Then shouldn't it be CHOW like we're all used too? I just thought that's a shame they went and spelled it differently...now we'll have newbies coming in asking if it's Chou, Chow, Zhou, or now ...Chau, what a mess

wow, they finally updated with a little something. the alfa site is probably still better. the CHAU thing is downright embarrassing! couldn't they have at least gotten jay's last name right if they create a site for him? anyway, Chau is less common than Chow in HK, but still used. same pronunciation, different spelling. both used for the cantonese of ŠP. yeah... it does mess things up for the fans who find it mind boggling... :glug:

It's pretty confusing... messing up with his surname. But the correct one is Chou. I remember there's one song he sang his name. The song is "Dui Bu Qi". Maybe we should email to alert the webmaster regarding his "spelling" mistake. :yeah:

And i thought that i was seeing things just now when i click the Enter button~ It's just an empty shell at the moment, and it don't look presentable in this case. Sony should at least have Jay's promotion schedule up on that site while working on the rest of the other details...
Though i am denying them of their credit of putting up their site right now, i still feel that more effort should be put into the official site.

It just look as if Jay is not important to Sony at all right now from my point of view.

Yep, the background says, "Jay Zhou" but the subtitles are "Jay Chou"

and in the Making of Yi Fu zhi ming the director says "Jay Zhou steps"

Gosh, the Sony site is absolutely embarrassing. It's not even updated. Come on ... I believe with a big establishment like Sony, they should have talented web designers or are able to pay people to do up something good, right?

They invested so much in Jay and this is what they can offer? Alfa Music did a so much better job!

I so agree, it's a SHAME that even the artist's last name is spelt wrong..
WHAT THE?!
I think they should do a big update soon . its so bare/plain
i bet jays still just going to visit the 'alfa music' one to check things.
...Pretty disappointing site!

ahh... this site are all flash. and its not even complete. I dont really like the flash things, cos its like when i want to see a menu, i had to wait for the flash to slowly show up...

Yeah I just get this blank white screen. I think my internet's just too slow and takes too long to load the flash o_O
And there are just TOO many ways to spell Jay's last name. Don't most ppl pronounce Chou as Chow/Chau anyway? (Which is the Cantonese way). So they still should've gotten it right.. how embarrassing.. are all Sony's artists' sites that disappointing?

And Ziwei, it says "Jay Chau" at the top where the title is.

Chau? i have never before in my life heard someone spell his last name Chau....it's actually a fairly common last name, and to think that they can't even spell that right... well, i don't know, but all his official stuff says "chou" anyways.

The site itself, i don't know, it seemed *ok* but there was so little information on it, and yes i'm sure alfa did a much better job, i might be misjudging this, but it seems to me like Sony doesn't care, I mean...this is Jay we're talking about.

I just went to check out the web and I like the home page cause they have very lovey pics of Jay. But I have to say that there is still little in the info, but I'm sure that this web will be improving cause Jay has a lot to offer the fans and I believe that Sony is not that bad.

big big biggie mistake on the "chau" surname..perhaps it's cos how they pronouce his name? well..at least sony has got a pg for him and they've done quite a good job on the flash thingy..not bad!

chau? weird ... but it's to put a definite on his surname cos different ppl pronounce it differently and also spelt it differently according to the way they say it. however, it's quite DUH of Sony to make such a mistake ... and also the website - crap would be the word for it. i think here is way way 100 times better ... it's suppose to be kinda an official website and yet even the biography is only coming soon...

Ok, it seems like the people in this forum don't get it. JAY IS STILL WITH ALFA. He's just not with BMG anymore. HE SWITCHED FROM BMG TO SONY, NOTALFA MUSIC TO SONY.

(and if u dont know that answer to that...start reading  )...i wonder if ppl even know what the difference is between alfa, bmg, and sony =/

yeah the site is pretty bad...how sad...i don't know why SONY doesn't want to spend a little bit of money to actually make a website for jay (as compared to a shell of a website)
and why is his name spelled "jay chau"??? i mean i've seen chou and chow and zhou...but CHAU??

let's hope when everything is done it'll be much better.. yeah i agree that alfa's website is much better...
seems like sony really doesn't care much about jay eh? look at this website.. and there was once an article in this forum about how jay is not looked after by sony people right... and like when sony signed up other artistes, how much money they spent making it a grand affair while jay was just "switched over" quite silently... and to think jay makes so much money for them

Errrrrrrrm, Mike, I don't see a need for the big words and also ... in what way did I indicate in my post that I didn't know that Jay is still with Alfa? I am well aware that Sony is the distribution company for Jay's albums. And I am also well aware that Jay has switched from BMG to Sony.

I have been keeping up with the news. I think it was a very bad example you used over there. :-x And it is true that Alfa really did a much better job when it comes to Jay's Official Website. Isn't it?

1. You didn't make that clear.
2. I was making an example out of your post because i've seen people say he's not with alfa anymore about 10 times already.
3. I actually think it's a great example.
4. The Alfa site wasn't much better, just updated.

Mike: i also found your big bolded words unnecessary and i don't see cacky's post as being unclear or a "good/great" example to use. perhaps you were confused about her use of "did" instead of "does" in her last sentence regarding alfa music. your subsequent post of the quick notes would have sufficed. i believe cacky was merely stating that alfa is doing a better job than sony in terms of the website. there was no mention of her ignorance regarding the switch from BMG to sony. even if you felt that the post was unclear (merely your opinion and judgment, may i add), the "quick notes" should be good enough. please do be more considerate with your fellow forum jay fans. you could have simply asked via PM whether it was ok to use cacky's post as an example without upsetting her openly like this. as for whether the alfa site is better or not, you are entitled to your opinion.
