How important are your Rep points to you?

Just wondering if Rep points mean everything to you or mean nothing to you.

Some people come on to this site to gain more reps, some come here to simply have chats or to find the latest Jay news.

Very important. I get to see Jay in action (under downloads). Without it, I will not get to see or hear much about Jay. It would be depressing!

I think the system works well to encourage people to follow the rules and to get hang of what being part of a forum is all about - contributing media when you can and participating thoughtfully when in discussions. I don't really care that much about the rep points since I'm here more for the conversations and the news than anything else, but I would definitely hate to have rep points docked off.

i went for the third option. now it doesnt mean i dont care but seriously... if people think you still suck no matter what even though you are already very polite...theres nothing much you can do right? its other people's mouth and mind to judge what kindda person you are. so aye just stay cool and be yourself and just dont offend anyone.

Reputation points are no big deal to me.
But I must admit that sometimes I get quite obsessed with them
because being credited or rewarded pampers me a lot
'cause I don't experience being pampered or appreciated at home.
So when people rep me up,I feel really happy because somebody appreciates my effort.
I'm pathetic. I know. :shy:

i used to try to get people to give me reps. but now... i just look at it as a number... it's not so important... what is the main idea that you come to jcnet anyway? get reps or get to know jay and other millions of fans? of course the second one right?

i think they are okay. quite important.
i will not bug people for it. its only when they think i'm good they rep me.
but its not totally NOTHING. how can one survive here without and rep point.
its like somehow some merit points here.

me, will also give rep points to people who is worth it, who contribute here,
so i think its quite important.

well i have to say reps are quite important but not my first priority here cause i enjoy to chat and just look around here when i have the time to. and to see my rep higher than when i first came it is a good feeling although not as high as others but i stil love the reps that i have

Well I think it can be pretty encouraging when you get rep points, because it reminds you that people do pay attention to your posts and that you are contributing... I guess I don't really mind, for me it's nice to get rep points but it's not that important.

I think thank you's are more important because it means you're actually contributing something for people here. Reputations are just the same, but at a bigger scale? hm yes, quite satisfying to see that you've helped someone :)

The overall pts is not impt to me.. it's whether people give ot take tt matters.. When pple give me rep pts, it shows they appreciate your efforts.. that's y im happy when someone give me rep pts.. :D

They're fine to me.. don't mind too much for them. It looks nice under my name to show that I'm a member, but I really want to get into a good group. That's more of my goal ^_^

I never ask for reputation points. But anyway, it's feel nice if someone gives you reputation or at least click the "thank you" button to show appreciation for your efforts. Moreover, it's just a simple procedure.. So I give reputation points quite regularly (to those that deserve them) =)

Rep points are just to see who recognises you as sharing the most news and info and thoughts!!!

i picked the third option because if you really think about it, what difference does it REALLY make? not much. it's not like it truly shows what kind of person you are or makes you any "cooler". it's nice though when you do get points cuz it shows that people respect your help and appreciate it.

i hate it when people put in their signatures or posts asking for rep points. i actually find it really pathetic. i also find it pathetic when they ask for rep points before actually helping out somebody. seriously, i never knew people would go so low.

Number 2 is for me, i think it's quite important, because if a member has very little rep points, it give an impression to the rest of the members that the person is not such a good member.
Rep points are there for a good cause,
because a member can just spam everywhere to get their post count increase, but for rep points, it is what other members think about them.

It's not that important to me. I don't mind if I don't get accepted to JCNet Regulars although I really want to see more of Jay's works.
If I'm accepted, fine. If not, it's okay. I'll just apply again next month.

Quite important, but I don't lose sleep because of it.

As long as it doesn't go below 10, I'll be happy, because if it goes under 10 then I'll lose almost all of my JCNet privileges, and will not be able to apply for the JCNet regular. Fortunately, during my almost 2 weeks stay here my reputation seems to be quite well.

It's that SO important, but it's still kinda improtant. And yes it does help people to follow the rules and to not break them so that's a good thing

And i do LOVE getting reps and i do mind if i get reps taken awayy... so overall reps are important but not like VERY important
