I've got a couple of their earlier albums and.......they are different to Shinhwa.

Their stuff seems a little more soulful and not as westernized as SH. friends have commented that SH sound like The Backstreet Boys, which is true. :oops:

jase: i don't think they sound like shinhwa. shinhwa is more mainstream pop along with various genres depending on the album. the soulful ballads would mostly be solo efforts by hyesung or him as lead vocals anyhow for shinhwa. in g.o.d, i like their individual voices and contributions. i'll probably need to hear more to make a better judgment. but based on the g.o.d cuts i was making from the music awards, i think they're quite different in terms of personality and music concentration. :-)

The oldest member, Joon Hyung, can indeed be very scary looking. :D He's actually a very down to earth man though. I think it's just funny that he's an almost 40 year old man in a boy band. He is really hard to like based on first impressions, but he has a most awesome personality the more you get to know him.

And YAY, meli, you started the thread. I am quite happy because it is here and I can spazz about the awesomeness of Ho Young with everyone. <3

He really is, quite possibly, the most marriage-material guy I've ever fangirled. The episodes of him taking care of baby Jaemin are just... they tear at your heart strings and make you love him more for all his cute, sweet, shy personality. Meli just sent me this episode where Hoi was in the hospital and Jaemin came to visit, and he held Jaemin in his arms and asked the cute baby softly, "Jaemin~ Bo go ship po seo?" over and over in the softest whisper. Gah, my heart dies just thinking about it.

I really like g.o.d now. Their styles and personalities are so great, and they are most definitely very different from Shinhwa. Their style does appeal to people who like older styles of music, I think. XD~

I do agree. I think they have transcended the boyband status after the 5th jib and they focus more on their strength as a performer. You could actually sense by how the tracks are packaged...they are obviously targeting the 20 something generation. :happy:

And so so happy for them when a great chunk of the MBC prize-giving show was G.O.D dedicated. ^^ They really are great live, as well as great performers and also great sports, did I mention I love how the boys laughed when Tablo rapped something in the KBS Old&New Dance? Omo, you HAVE to watch some of these, I swear, they will PULL at your heart strings. Okay, so at the very beginning of their careers, g.o.d decided to be part of a show, YukAhIlGi (I think that's the title). For a year and a half, all of the g.o.d members took care of one little baby boy, Jaemin, and all they did with him was shown on TV. Each member was assigned a role in taking care of Jaemin. Joon was the father, Taewoo and Kyesang were the ones who made Jaemin laugh, Danny was the one who took care of Jaemin at night, and Hoi was the mother because Jaemin liked him the best out of all of them. As you can imagine, much cuteness was to be had as the show revealed what sweet, loving men all of them were.

I think the show is credited with shooting them to stardom. It's more proof how awesome g.o.d is. X)

And I don't mean to be a bother, but meli, could you please upload Into the Sky booklet scans for me? :? I really want to see high quality pictures of Hoi and Danny. Plus, think of all the lovely layout making to be had! X)

hmmm. it's the performance level.

I've been seeing Reason Opposites Attract on Pops in Seoul in Arirang since last year but I never really liked them. I thought the song was nice, yes. But I was so into pretty kpop boys then and g.o.d wasn't exactly poster material. >.< (i'm so eating everything i said then, now) I remember saying Ho Young wasn't cute when he appeared on Showbixz Extra news for his bday too. :shy: I'm an evil evil girl.

anyway, Felice unnie sent me 2Love and Falling from their new jib and I fell in love with 2Love. But I wasnt' really spazzing. Then, she gave me performance clips and that's about the start of it.

G.O.D performed with so much emotion, I shed tears. I think they give about 110% of themselves when they perform. They aren't just aiming for perfection, they also want their audience to get every feeling from the song they're singing.

Read the lyrics while watching it and was just very very moved. Then I just went back to their recent performances that I had skipped by, and each time they perform with such sincerity and there has never been a G.O.D performance without a smile. They are so genuine.

well.. i heard about them last year when they came out with their 6jib... Reason Why Opposites Attract is a nice MV, (cos Kim DongYoon was in it, hehe.. crushie!) and the group was not bad.... so i downloaded their 6jib and found out that they're really a good group...they've got a superb sound, and yes, though they're not poster-boy material, they've got great talent and you just see the good chi overflowing from them... hehe.. really good boys. ^^

The first time I heard and saw them was in their MV for 'Lie' from their third album while watching Pops in Seoul...that was a long time ago. I liked the song but I thought that they were just another band and yeah they aren't as pretty looking as say, DBSG or Shinhwa so I couldn't really be bothered to go find more about them :laughing:

And then when their last album came out, I downloaded 2<3 because everyone seemed to love it : ) and then I saw Hoi and Taewoo...and the old guy (forgot his name >__<) on X-Man and they sang so well...and Hoi was sooo :love: and taewoo was so cute : D so I downloaded the whole album and it's so good : D so here I am now ^^

Wow I can't believe so many of you didn't think they were good looking >.< I remember watching a couple of their MVs from their 3rd jib and thought a couple of them were pretty good looking.

The more I listen to their songs the more I like Taewoo's voice. At first I couldn't differentiate Taewoo from Hoi's voice :blush: But now it's so obvious.

I have a prob though. Yesterday, I was reviewing the clips I have. And I've realized some of my eppies are incomplete. I didn't realize that YSI dies on me on some few eppies. So some eppies are cut off. *DIES* 17, 23, 25, 27, 31, 33, 46, 50 are my incomplete vids. dkfaljdkl;a. I really hated it. I think the best way is to upload it elsewhere 'cause YSI is evil on files like this, or maybe on just mine? :cry: So I think for those eppies, sinny should upload. I'm working on how to get them yet again.

and so i've managed to convert my 10 year old sis into liking god. I was just watching clips of them and I was fangirling DBSG to her because DBSG is young, but no, she liked god instead of dbsg. I swear, I did not try to influence her decision. So when I'm at work she accesses my files on my PC (we share the same PC...i gave her only limited access though) and she watches god vids and listens to their songs frequently. And now she has 2<3 memorized, without any lyrics to guide her, just by ear!

And she likes ho young, and I told her off because ho young is mine. I told her she should like Taewoo instead. XD hahahaha. And she admires Danny for his fast rapping skillz0r.

EDIT AGAIN: i saw you guys talking about watching the Into the Sky MV made you cry...i watched it before my exams and i was like...what's this about?! :wacko: i was too lazy to look for the lyrics and such. but today...i decided to get the lyrics...as i was watching the MV and reading the lyrics, i started to cry. i dont think i have ever heard such a beautiful and touching ballad. the beautiful voices of Tae Woo and Ho Young make me want to fly to korea right away and make them stay. they CAN'T...i repeat CAN'T go to NS. i refuse to let them go.

well...from the few god songs ive listened, my most favourite would be Into the Sky. there are just some feelings that i cant desribe whenever i listen to the song. it may be weird, but i only started to love the song after i read the lyrics and knew what this song was about. but now...whenever i listen to my mp3 player...i always skip songs in order to get to listen to this song earlier. :shy: Into the Sky has becme one of my favourite songs ever.

If I had to choose 5 songs out of those i have listened too. it would be...(in no particular order)
- geojitmal (lies) this song is a classic. I always like listening to it then say "shiro shiro" in the verse.
- gil (road) ahhhh, i love this song. I especially liked it when ho young sang it in a clip of the last concert. very dramatic.
- heojiji malja (let's stay together) I like the part where hoi and taewoo sang the chorus.
- 2love just because it is pure sarang.
- haneul soguro (into the sky) it makes me teary eyed. they sang it so sincerely.

I heart all the songs Kahel and Bryna put on their lists.

So far on my list I only have 3.

'Lie' - a classic song and probably the only song I liked from their 3rd jib.
'Gil' - well, it was the song that got me into GOD so how can I not like it :p
'Into the Sky'- it was sung so well and it's just so touching, it's hard to believe it's their last jib together.

I have to think of what other 2 songs I would have on my list. It's too hard to choose.

it's sad i've neglected god. ani. it just makes me so sad tracking them. I miss them so much.

so what's the latest news about the boys....

well. they're out of JYP. their contract with JYP has recently ended and there's no news on what they're going to do about it thus I am sad. "cause JYP made god. If you're going to look at their albums all songs are composed by JYP. So they've got to somehow settle the contract soon so they'll be able to keep their promise of coming back and release the last concert DVD. :cry:

anyway, here's the current updates on where they are.

joon and ho young are in the states.

so is taewoo. But taewoo is in NY preparing for the korean production of Altar Boyz. ^^

then Kyesang is happy being the VJ of Military TV. Danny is happy being a radio DJ. He just posted on his blog that he watched a concert by An Jae Wook and he misses being on stage. He took a photo of the concert when it wasn't allowed too. How cute is that?
