Sony BMG Joint Concert in NYC?

oh I got the wrong name. haha it's the SAME SONG 2006....yeah I've heard about SAME SONG, it's some sort of Joint concert thingy..I've seen Leehom perform on it a few times in Mainland China.




"The Same Song 2006 USA East West Cultural Exhange".

here's the list of artists that will be performing:
Nan Sun,Huang Liu,Chunbo Li,Tiansu Zhang,Yi Lu,Jie Deng,Guoli Zhang,Ping Ni,Amin Mao,David Wu,Yongling Tang,Huixian Chen,Qing Qi,Huimei Zhang,Lihong Wang,Xingling Wang,Xulang Zheng and Xiumei Ying.
it's be nice if someone could say which chinese name belongs to which english name (=
but yeah, the concert is for january 23, 7:30pm @ radio city music hall. tickets are 58-198 dollars.

i called the 1-888 number and asked the lady who would be performing, but she wouldn't give out any names. i thought that was rather...odd. on the website it says "over 1000 asian and western artists" though. i have an eery feeling about this because usually if you have big name stars like leehom or jolin, then you would advertise it, right?

It is a bit weird that the lady would not tell who's performing. :worry: Gotta keep searching for news on this.

Even if Jolin, Leehom, Wil...DID go to the thing, I'd never be allowed to go to NYC. :cry: School would have started by then, so I can't take a trip to New York from Vancouver. Then there's the fact that I'm 13...:dry:

welll, if it IS the same thing that junnleenfah posted, they're having performances at the flint center too! and like in sydney, toronto, too...but that's another reason why i don't think they're in it: takes too much time away from their busy lives of working, promoting, filming, etc!

Thanks for the info..hope that this is true!!!! Just seems toooo good to be true...and there are no advertisements in the entertainment sections in the chinese newspapers like there usually is for concerts.

i think singerchick got the wrong concert name cuz i was looking at radio city's website with their upcoming performances and there's another concert called "The Same Song 2006 USA East West Cultural Exhange". and i looked under the list of performers, and their names are in their chinese names [i only know the chinese artists by their english names =/] but i saw "li hong wang" and i'm pretty sure that's another way to say leehom's name

Jan. 23, 2006 is CCTV The Same Song 2006 USA East West Cultural Exhange at Radio City Music Hall. This is a mix concert with singers from China, HK and Taiwan. Singers that will be there are Nan Sun,Huang Liu,Chunbo Li,Tiansu Zhang,Yi Lu,Jie Deng,Guoli Zhang,Ping Ni,Amin Mao,David Wu,Yongling Tang,Huixian Chen,Qing Qi,Huimei Zhang,Lihong Wang,Xingling Wang,Xulang Zheng and Xiumei Ying. (Wang Leehom, Fish Leong, Wilber Pan, Cyndi Wang, Amei + older generation singers )


Anyway heard about this or are you planning to go?
I LOVED Leehom's LV concert, but too bad this one is on the East Coast :tears:

This year the Same Song concert is having a U.S Lap. This concert will feature singers from mainland, taiwan, and hong kong regions. For many of these singers this is their first concert in the United States. The concert will satisfy both the old and young crowd. The guests vary from cute singer Cyndi Wang, who is a heartthrob in her male fans hearts in her homeland of Taiwan, to Malaysian treasure, Fish Leong's soulful voice. Leehom who wrote "Silk Road (Si Lu) this year for Fish will also attend. Leehom, 29, has been in the industry for almost 11 years. This ABC's composing, producing, singing, arranging, lyric writing and instrument playing abilities have made him admired by the older generation as well as the younger generation alike. Young star Wilber Pan, known for his smile and dancing abilities will also bring the crowd to a high. For the older generation legends like Amei Chang will be present. Amei is known to be one of Asia's first Diva's with her deep and rich voice that brought her to fame and she has been going steady. Other singers include Nan Bo who is also a very famous Mainland singer that is admired by the crowd. Many of the older generation singers have had concerts outside of Asia, but for the younger generation this will be many's first time. There will also be many surprises at this event!
