so, lets talk bout malaysian cars...i know, it's nothing compared to mercedes, but, which malaysian cars really cought ur attention??and which car just make you sick?

personally, it has always been the perdana v6. it just the most amazing car that i have ever seen...but, since, mine was kelisa, gotta give the car some credit too....rite?

for the worst car ever created- its gotta be proton juara. i mean, what's up with the box shape. i feel like watching a hideous box moving around....

Savvy looks nice but last time, it only had manual. So when I asked to choose MyVi or Savvy, I had to take MyVi. But now, it comes with auto already. i ordered my MyVi last May but getting the car in January. January is arriving soon. Yippee :excited:

hahaha..... my bro's using saga, so, technically, the difference is mainly at the back of the car....saga is very pointy, but iswara is much shorter, it looks like an wira aeroback....

saga has a long bonnet while iswara has a shorter bonnet (a.k.a. aeroback). thus u'l c iswara with square like rear lamps while saga wif rectangular shape rear lamps.

i'm currently drivin a kenari, wanna sell it, to get a myvi. if i can manage to get a buyer, i'l be gettin myvi immediately. most probably a gold myvi SXi. hope can settle everyting in a month or two. coz, oddly, i can get stock myvi immediately now if i want, no waiting list. very weird, coz many told me tat the waiting list now is stil around 3months, better than the previous 6months waiting list.

but i personally think the worst car ever produced is the tiara, coz i used to own 1. its terrible. the Renault engine does not suit hot-weather tropical countries like ours. it needs to be reved so hard every mornin b4 willing to move. and going up hill is terrible, as the e-brake sux, coz my ex-tiara slides down even in 1st gear while going up a steep at a carpark. mum was so shock she pulled the e-brake, and it didn work. luckily there's no car at the back. weird thing too is tat the steering system is of left-hand drivin, though its positioned on the right. wad i mean is, the signal peddlar is on the left, and the wiper on the right. need some time to get use to. aircond is also terrible, haha~ and the worst? well, my ex-tiara's gear-box got blowed, like... the whole gearing system got loose, makin the gear stick to 1st gear all the time, and the gear knob went loose like a (*ahem)joystick.

my current kenari is very good. wise lookin, i wont say its the best or the worst. its just a typical city car. engine performance wise, i can start it early in the mornin, switch on the air-con immediately, and stil goes uphill with ease (*my grandma's house is like, at the road side, actually, lower than the road by 1 storey. so if u wanna drive the car, u gotta hav good skill!)

however, brake is terrible, i've got into brake-locks couple of times. handling is not tat bad, well, i'm not drifting it anyway. the only thing tat i don like is tat its so noisy, u can hear the engine of the bike next to ur car so clearly! and the quality is a lil' let down, coz things got loose a yr after u roar the car.

wira is a car wif a good look tat 's all. engine, sux, coz stock engine's pick-up is terrible, mayb the car is heavy. handling, not tat good as u'l get some under-steer. interior is ok, and some wira oddly has great stock audio, wif strong bass and treble, and great speakers. (*only some) wira is also very low by default, coz it always hit the bumper, makin a dent on the exhaust system. haha~ :-x also, leaking is a common issue in wira. terrible, i'l say. and y i know these? coz my uncle has one, and i've drove it too.

one is Naza Ria. it's really big and useful especially for vacation or going back to 'kampung' or my hometown in kelantan for hari raya cause i have a big family and that car can occupies aroung 7 people, sometimes 8. so, anyone with a big family i recomended for you to use this one....

haha~ kenari's red line is 160km.h, how can reach tat? if wan oso needa find a straight track, which is very hard. i usually reach 120km/h fix when pedal-to-the-metal.

however, i've heard ppl say kenari went rollin like milo tin during *ahem* friendly match. haha~ duno where and how it happened. tat driver sure max it out.

satria neo is build for performance, and its said to be build from scratch, but as i seen, those there's improvement, i stil find some parts to be similar to the former 1. i think satria neo can go full out quite easily, and stable too.

perdana is build like imported cars (*i think its juz too expensiv, as its a local car), tat's y its stable, and also, since its huge and flat, the centre of gravity should be quite low, makin it quite stable. well, if u've been in an imported car (*like say a merz? or even an evo!) u wont even feel u're reachin 120km/h. and also, reachin 180km/h is a breeze. :D

i remember sittin in my coussy's kancil, the 660 basic (*no radio, nth! juz air-con), we went up the fly-over and came down at a speed of 80km/h, and its shakin like a rattle snake! hohoho!~ no more for me! also, the bearing of kancil is terrible, though i cant say much due to its price being relatively low, and the build is for slow city drive, nth extremely, or nth even a slight wildnest. :P

I'd personally prefer Toyota's and Honda's cars. Well, not to mean that I'm bragging or what. Its just...well, you know. Reliability is ain't there for local cars. I believe many of you feel the same too. And thats why, the statistics of imported cars are increasing lately.

As for vunsin's post. I would say a Honda City. Well, it ain't really expensive for an imported car. In addition, the look of the car is pretty good (well, matches for the price you pay). I wouldn't doubt the reliabilty for a Honda car in Malaysia cause their market here is pretty stable. My cousin has just recently bought a Honda City and according to him, the brand new Honda City doesn't really eat up alot of petrol. It just cost him RM55 for a full tank. (Well, I believe vunsin knows about the recent petrol rise in Malaysia for about 30 cent per litre lately).

I would say, RX-7 -> the FC. It's cheaper if you got it second-hand....don't know if you could get it here (Malaysia) tho :P Hey, it's a sport car, so performance wise, it performs better than any average consumer car and in Australia, it's about 15k AUD (second-hand). It got the looks too, although a bit outdated style :tongue:


Or, if you're concern about gas money, get Kelisa or Myvi, they have a great mileage, and quite affortable for most people.


Eric, RM55's the full tank for Honda City. So, how's the mileage? How far (km) can it go with a full tank?

yeah, they use the left-hand driver's system. this is y a Mit Eclipse (a.k.a. Spyder) is only available in US and other left-hand drivin system. *sigh* no chance to c the good old Eclipse (*correct me if i'm wrong)

PerOdua is plannin to abolish the lil` Kancil and its bro kelisa's lineup, by replacin it with a Mira (*correct me if i'm wrong), and its gonna serve both models' market by havin 660cc and 1000cc engines. also, they're starting to abolish carburators and replace it wif EFI (efficient fuel injections), which is a very good news. consider an already fuel economy 660cc kancil, wil EFI!! tat's gonna be a very good fc car!

also, there's rumour that the current perdana lineup is gonna receive a new makeover, more appropriate, replaced by a Mit 380 rebadge (*due to the "re"-partnership wif Mit). so, good news indeed.

about export of m`sian cars: Gen2 and Waja (known in European countries as Impian) are exported to European countries. i heard that Gen2's quality in european country is of excellence, well, compared to our local models. (*no bashin plz!~) the downside is, there's no left-hand driver system made, i think. *sigh* so, sorry Candy^che^che.

p/s: the cute MyVI is gonna be exported to foreign countries too! and the road test/ safety tests had been approved (*of coz la, Boon and Passo also already approved wad).

for ur info, Myvi shares same platform as Daihatsu's Sirion/Boon and Toyota's Passo. they're co-developed by PerOdua, Daihatsu and Toyota at JP. In JP, u'l hav Passo, in Asean u'l hav Myvi, in Europe, Daihatsu's Sirion.

its true. somehow, protons hav been enjoyin good reviews in foreign countries.

for example, in aussie, ppl enjoy Satria as their second car as Satria r sellin like hot cakes at there. Gen2 also enjoyed great sales in there.

in europe, protons too hav good reviews. ppl who bought them said the quality and reliability are of luxurious. its rumoured that a wira with auto transmission at europe has 5 speed (5 gears), and that cant be true coz here in m`sia our wiras only goes to 3rd gear in auto. though, no body can prove it that the wira has 5 speed. the rumour was due to the sound of the engine while reving high. when drivin it, u can somehow hear the engine shifting to 4th gear and 5th gear, and also, the tachometer also showed a drop of roughly 0.5k rev.

yes, 5 gears r really cool. but 7-speed SMG gearbox is even horny (*sorry teh pun). but 5 gears r already great. fuel consumption can be reduced greatly, not the say the increase of top speed. *hehehehe*
and yes, somehow i also love the Satria Neo, especially the Satria Neo Desire and limited edition "Satria Neo Proton|Design". Desire has a new name!
too bad it only has 2 doors, if not, it'l be a direct competitor with the 307s.

wow, wanie! that car is damn gorgoeus!!! it does not even look like a malaysian car, but it is. the internal and the outer design, are really beautiful. i was very amazed when i saw those pic. though the design does resembles proton gen-2, but it still looks cool...

Yup. Kelisa and the Kancil are replaced by the new Viva. This is reflected by it's three engine capacity offerings.
