I actually dunno how old this movie is...my friend jus lent me the dvd a few days ago and watched it...itz actually really sad...I jus wanted ti know what u guys think about it...also to clarify...from what i have heard, it was a korean drama, which was eventually cropped into a movie...so obviosuly there is a completly different experienece depending on which u have watched.
Personally i thought it was a very touching story, but a few parts of it were a bit unrealistic...and i found the the "Taesuk" charater to be quite a stupid, but entertaining guy...he is QUITE smooth with the ladies (that was sarcastic if u cannot tell) ..
ok, now let me know what u think, im very interested to find out
also for those who havent seen it, if u WANT i can tell the story, i can post it, but let me know first...so i dun spoil it for those who dont want to know
EDIT: ok these are some of the multiple names of the drama being discussed
Autumn Fairy Tale
Autumn Love Story
Autumn in your Heart
A Tale of Autumn
Blue Moon
Blue Love
Endless Love

Urm... i don't know if you're talking about the korean movie as in 'Autumn in your Heart'? There's another name- which is also called 'Blue Moon'/'Blue Love' or something.
Is this when the girl---(must... not... spoil....ending...)
My opinion is... 'Winter Sonata/Song' is much more touching than that movie. But alot of korean movies are quite good, so these two are quite touching (yet i prefer Winter Sonata/Song :) ).

In the serial, i preferred the first 3 episodes...while they were kids. I found it more moving  ...later on, the romance is a bit too much for me, too many clichés. Ive yet to finish it, so i cant say much about the ending...i might prefer it to the beginning... :glug:

Hehe...loads of names.... the chinese name is shown on yesasia here (http://us.yesasia.com/assocred.asp?umQfXR+http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/pid-1001817042/did-0/code-c/section-videos/)
Its called Endless Love, Autumn Fairytale and Autumn in my heart according to a review here http://www.spcnet.tv (korean drama -> endless love)
So Blue... because of the chinese title
Autumn... because of the name of the piano instrumental of the soundtrack
and Endless Love is the english translation!
:D

haha ok that clears up a lot of confusion -__- so i guess...they are ALL real names? haha well..yea...common ppl tell us what u think about it ^^
i do agree obsession, only the ending was the only really touching...the rest was typical love story..choosing between ppl etc etc...=P

:S I wish the ending wasn't like that.
I've got lots of their songs :) Esp. 'Reason'. I luvvvv those instrumental songs! :) Korean songs from korean movies are always so beautiful! :) It does seem abit strange to me... i mean- falling in love with a bro/sis that you've grown up with. *scratches her head* o.0 i wouldn't know how i would respond if i realised i wasn't really my bro's sis! 0~0!*

i didn't watch the whole drama, but i watched the beginning of it when they were kids and i thought it was really touching. the story kind of dragged when they were older, i guess because it's like the same cliché romance stuff i always see. the ending was sad, although predictable.
i agree that the soundtrack is very nice. i especially like the song "reason." i think i liked the soundtrack of this drama more than the one for winter sonata.

This has got to be the most amount of crying I've ever seen in the show. Every other second someone is crying their eyes out for LONG periods of time. It's sad and sweet, but dragged out for way too long. Is it me or do Korean dramas tend to be very slow and sad??? Very melodramatic, but I still watched it because everyone in there is so good looking!

How long is the movie? Is it just the same footage from the drama but with whole chunks cut out? It still stars Wonbin right? :brows:
There used to be a thread about the drama but it got cleaned out.
I agree with jessca, the beginning of the drama, when they were kids, was the best part. It was so depressing! Oh my god I don't think I've ever cried more while watching TV! I loved that drama, just for the start! In the end, when the girl died it was too.. expected.
Han Chae Young (the girl who played Xin Ai? I can't remember the character's name) is really pretty

the movie is like 2 hours long...and i dun really know the characters names...cuz...i dunno korean...but i do know won bin is the star...from what i hear...the movie is jus made from clips of the drama...although it doesnt show how the babies got switched...so it is really confusing in the beginning..=P( at least for me who hasnt seent he drama)
jakinni
09-03-2003, 07:16 PM
The babies were switched when the father brought the brother to the hospital and the kid accidentally wandered into the nursery and made the very loosely held nametags drop on the two cribs, when the nurses put the name tags, it was to the wrong babies. Anyway you'd think such important thing the babies would have hospital bracelets to identify them, but...such things you just have to go with it.

haha yea i saw that now...they show it...AT THE END OF THE MOVIE :? which i clears it up then....but i must say...what a irresponsible father...he jus left the little kid to go run around...=/

 Without irresponsibility, there'd be no story. Personally I didn't get what the big deal was for the parents if the two got together, I mean they're NOT RELATED anyway. :glug: That could've saved everyone a lot of tears. But I guess I really shouldn't try to reason when watching such things.
BTW, I think leukemia must be the disease of choice for the female characters in these types of series. There are quite a few that have met this fate.

well i think it is one of the more realistic ones..which is why it is choosen...cuz...most other lethal diseases would probably show signs earlier in life....and to make it dramatic...ur not suppose 2 find out till its 2 late  i guess :?

i don't think the father was irresponsible... well... he acted irresponsibly by leaving his son there with no one to watch him but it's really the nurse's fault. she just put back the tags without checking.
pretty much, if you've seen the movie then no need to see the drama. most of the episodes consist of flashbacks. i still can't believe her family just left her there while the immigrated to US. what the heck was that????

heh i kinda disagree...but o well...the nurse isnt the babysitter...the dad shoulda watched his kid...instead of jus let him run around...although yea..the nurse should of checked which baby was which...although it seemed she had no way...-__-
anyway..i do think that was kinda dumb..how they jus ...switched kids...heh...and it seems really unrealistic...but thats what creates the "drama" =P

Actually, the fact that they were brother and sister irked me.. I know they weren't blood related, but they WERE raised as brother and sister. It was just weird how their brotherly/sisterly love suddenly turned into romantic love.. where do you draw the line between the two? And since I watched it in Mandarin, she kept referring to him as "ge". She should've gone for sexy Wonbin.. :D
This is kind of :offtopic:, but Ridge and Bridget fall in love on the Bold and the Beautiful.. which I find gross, cuz she was raised as his daugher until she was about 10, then they discovered he was her half-brother.. and now that they've discovered they aren't related at all, they fall in love  I bet no one knows what I'm on about
Dramas are so dumb, yet I often watch them ;D
jakinni
09-04-2003, 12:01 PM
To me, they were young when they separated, it wasn't like they were raised as siblings until like 18 and then turned around had feelings for each other. They were kids then, and they've had many years apart to adjust and change in feelings, it wasn't so sudden. It's just like 2 kids in the neighbourhood growing up together as best friends and later in high school find that they've fallen in love. The friendship as kids would be brotherly/sisterly love.
But I agree with you, the part about her calling him "ge" bothered me too. After they've confessed their love for each other, she should stop with that. Just makes eveyrone uncomfortable!
I didn't watch B&B during that period, but I can see how that's nasty, I mean he's had sex with her MOTHER for godsakes, that alone should turn her off.
Again I agree with you about dramas being dumb, but it's like if I start watching I have to finish it. That's how I ended up watching this one. I didn't know it was 20 eps at first, thought it was less, but I was already sucked in by then.

ok, i'm not really sure if i'm thinking about the same drama, but it sounds pretty right.. i saw it in mandarin version because i can't read or listen to korean, so i couldn't see the title!
i really liked that drama too, i thought the 2 boys were pretty cute!
when they were little, and got seperated, it was so sad, because they just left the girl there and that's just EVIL! and that other evil little girl is just EVIL!
i liked the part when they were little better too, the part where they grew up was just too much romance and stuff.. and it went REALLY slow, because they would come together, but then they'd break up!
korean dramas seem really slow and long!

I've watched it twice...yea i admit it was kinda bored when i watched it for the second time..coz there were a lot of crying and "sorrys" (didn't ya notice that En Shi always says sorry in that series??)...but i can't control myself from not watching it coz of that cute guy named Won Bin.He's really good looking and i really like his character in that series.I thought that En Shi was so stupid to choose his brother (the character i hate the most  ) and not Won Bin's Tae Shi.Erm..if at all it is being shown again on the tv..i might watch it again-maybe just the scenes where Won Bin is there

Yeh...hehe....i noticed the apologising thing too! I havent finished watching the series yet but i already think that En Xi should stay with Won Bin. He treats her so well, and although she loves someone else, Jun Xi will never be able to be with her properly because of all the guilt. It so frustrating watching it... :-x ...cos its moving so slowly...but i cant stop watching it! Getting to the end!

isnt it ironic...how he tells his "sister" that they has said sorry to so many ppl already, and that he never wants 2 say it to her...but the very next day..he ends up doing jus that...along with the million other times they are apologizing to each other or someone else...

korean dramas are slow and long but this one in particular... there's really no suspsense or action... all they do is cry. this whole series could easily have been cut down into 5-6 episodes.
i agree she should have gone with won bin. and honestly if her "brother" hadn't shown up, she probably would have. i just found the ending really retarded. i don't think i should say cause it seems like some haven't finished watching it but it's dumb... it doesn't really fit well. i don't remember her name, but the brother's finance is really annoying. there isn't one moment in the show where she's not crying.

When i watched this series on the tv screen it had korean stuff and then an english name and they called it Endless Love but when u translate it into chinese its like Blue love. I liked this korean series but it was just too sad. Every single second at least one of the the actors was crying. It was too slow moving in some scenes and too tragic. Not to spoil the ending but its just soooooooo sad. But Won Bin was sooooo good looking in it and Song Hye Gyo was really pretty... until the end

am i too late to post in here? I really love this drama, but i don't liek the main actor SSH being wiht SHK. I want her to be wiht Won Bin Oppa cause she's so beautiful anyways Won Bin oppa acted even better than SSH anyways. (no offense in that....it's just MPOV) ^^
It's nto draggy. Imagine u watching 44 espisodes of a drama instead. 18 chapt are nothing compare to that. I say HK dramas are the most draggy.

Ok to clear up where all the names came from
the name is Gaeul Donghwa...
which translates... from Hanja into
Autumn Fairy Tale....
and it is part of the Endless Love Series... by that director... what's his name again anyways.. Endless Love=Four Seasons...
and then in Chinese..
Lan Se Sheng Shi Lian.. which translates to Blue Everlasting Love... something like that...
it really says Blue Life Death Love... but that's just literal...
and then Autumn in My Heart... don't know where that came from... but it makes sense... considering it's a fairy tale... and it's in the hearts of the people involved...
and Autumn Story corresponds to Autumn Fairy Tale...
now that all that is cleared up... ish I think
for the story
You can't really call this cliche... considering it was the first drama...
you can always say that all the dramas copied from it basically... since this was one of the dramas that started to korean wave... and then Winter Sonata was the big hit.. lol at least in japan...
and basically after this drama... all the stars were propelled to stardom... like Song Hye Kyo... and Won Bin... and Song Seung Hyun..
and also the little girl who starred as the younger Eunsuh... as in Song Hye Kyo... she's pretty famous now... too I think
and I agree... this drama isn't that long... now if you were to watch the whole endless love series... starting fall, winter, spring summer *actually summer was made before spring waltz... but that's besides the point*
that would be long... ...................................
but these installments by themselves... aren't really long...
compare to Dae Jang Geum.... that's what you call long... or like those really really really long history dramas.... or perhaps... um... Yellow Handkerchief... that was pretty long too... and maybe um.. Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan... i/e Chinese Paladin...

i loved this drama. comparing winter sonata to autumn tale, i like this one better.
the ending just made me break down crying. when he promised her that he wouldn't die, but he just let the truck hit him. >.<
won bin was really hot too! XD

The ending was really bad and was a huge letdown. I remember being so angry at the character Song Seung Hun played for being such a chicken.
But I think my favourite part was at the beginning when they were young. The scenes were so cute and the young actors also acted really well.
