Not many people entered the second karaoke contest, but not to let the entries go to waste, here they are:

Karaoke Entries (http://www.jay-chou.org/download/jayx8318x/karaokeII/)

If you didn't know, they had to write English lyrics and sing them to Jay's songs. My personal favorite is Vicluva's karaoke to the tune of Fa Ru Xue, the lyrics are really good too. I love the "will you still trace my name on the window" part, very nice. And littlefishie's lyrics to Si Mian Chu Ge was a fun read!

shanni26 - Silence

“Silence”

I have been thinking about you day and night
I just want you to know
That I think I love you/that I love you baby
You will always give me a brighter sky
Silence in the dark room
And you say your depress
But I understand what you are going through
Pain of not being able to comfort you
I hope you luck and, these words are my own.
Time will tell what the future brings.

Chorus:
Why did you leave me behind?
You went away like the wind
Since you left I don’t know what the hell Is going on..
What happen to our promise?
How the hell do I go on?
Learning to live without you
Moving on without you
Would you stop breaking my heart?
Love was sweet like lemonade
But emptiness that can crush you into pieces
Tears are falling down again
Slowing and gently falling
Another year has gone past
Because I love you too much..

flORiANSU - Still Here

Verse 1
The sun goes down
A starless sky
This darkness lingers on
My empty soul
Tormenting me
I pray I'd see you soon

Verse 2
The low moonlight
Are you around
Desperate, I look for you
To you I call
Can you hear me
Through this dark hazy sky

Bridge
Your presence is still here all 'round me baby
How I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me
Couldn’t you just stay a bit longer right here
Why did you have to leave me so soon?

Chorus1
If you want to go
Why are you still here
I would like to forget you
I don’t want this pain
All I want is to
Replace you with someone else

Chorus2
So I close my eyes
And I'll happ'ly smile
Daydreaming bout you and me
Thinking 'bout that day
When I saw your face
Before this mem’ry goes

Verse 3
Can you recall
When we first met
We were like no one else
It seems so fast
To just let go
I never thought I could

Bridge
‘Cause leaving you is so hard for me to do
Why don’t we compromise
Why don’t we find a way to
The words I want to say, they just can't be said
Will anyone but I understand

littlefishie - Flooded

So my life changed when I came across
The online community and JCNET esp.
And I met people just like me, all fans of Jay C
However, there were also others that wouldn’t let things be
Ulterior motives just trying to get what they could see
I don’t know if we could ever find some way to have them all beat
I only know that those that help us fight deserve a cookie
So let us keep going on until they see defeat

lalalalala lalalalalala lalalala
Oh Oh what can we do about this
lalalalala lalalalalala lalalala
Oh Oh So we must teach some lessons

So I’m posting in threads, when I see somebody’s dumb replies
Even if I add two cents they will let it fly by
Moving onwards, out of nowhere, comes a bunch of BS
Wonder why all things seem so irrelevant and grammar less
They are armed with self belief, knacks for making a big mess
tYPing LYkee dis and trying to ask me for some respect
High and mighty n00bs they think nobody else notices
Trying to be clever and increase their post counts

And if making a fool of yourself is just normal
Then I pity you (noob, noob, noob, noob)
And if you come looking for some downloads
I’ll point you off to a different place (leech, leech, leech, leech)

And so I tell them rules are here for a reason
Common sense is crucial, stickies are important
Admins and mods are the ones in charge, this is your survival guide
Because I want to give you all a chance to not be despised
So no more one liners, no more random witless crap
Also dissing others, starting silly threads will not help you at all
So you think that you can waltz in, say all that you want to say
Sorry to tell you but you’re just wasting your own time
We do not care about what you have to say
Because we all know you have nothing insightful to say
So what? You are being the noob. Although we do not like you
We’re willing to give you one more chance

lalalalala lalalalalala lalalala
Oh Oh what can we do about this
lalalalala lalalalalala lalalala
Oh Oh So we must teach some lessons

Well, you think you have it all to make yourself a known one.
Posting anywhere and everywhere you want is what you want and can do. (Not true)
You think that the forums are here to cater to your every whim too. (How rude)

Asking for free downloads and annoying us is your job
Acting like a three year old is something that you’re proud of
Misspelling and misreading are what you love
My dear noob what are we to do about you?

lalalalala lalalalalala lalalala
Oh Oh what can we do about this
lalalalala lalalalalala lalalala
Oh Oh So we must teach some lessons

Wanting free downloads somewhere, therefore you come here, trying to be revered
Oh oh we can see that Oh oh we deride that
Adding pointless dull comments, thinking you’re clever, not getting our hints
Oh oh what a shame Oh oh and then we ban you

yeukang - Silent Man

It was supposed to be my happy birthday
We had planned for this date
You brought flowers and a cake
You also brought a guy who ate up my cake
Smiled and said: It's getting late
You had to leave for the day

You said you would feel sad, but you don't feel sad
You left me in my bed, and it was so bad
I hope that he's needing you like I'm needing you
In fact he told me: He needs you

*You were the one who cheated
How come I feel so cheated?
Although you did me wrong I still must say sorry
I have no talents for this
Will you be happy after this?
I will go down on my knees: It's all my fault, I'm sorry!
So could you please let me leave?
Why must I stay while you leave?
Although you did me wrong I still must be sorry
I think I'm kind of ready
To leave this love already
But you still keep on calling
It's not because of your love

This saturday you called me out for a drink
Said we do need to talk
To clear up everything
But you went drunk and blamed me for everything
And your lover stepped in
But I still couldn't leave

I can't just leave this game 'cause this is your game
And it would be such a shame if I don't feel shame
I hope that he's needing you like I'm needing you
In fact he told me: He needs you

REPEAT * TWICE

Vicluva - After the Glory

Verse:

End of the road, the race is over
A house of gold, and yet you’re all alone
Footprints washed away before you even made them

Pretty girl, wait in the corner
Moving train, farewelled her forever
They said that time has all the answers
Where are mine?

Youth was a love that divorced me
Emptiness fills this one way street
But would I really have done it differently?

Chorus:

The sunset’s bleeding, raindrops falling
My life plays out on the screen
And you look at me like you know
No one’s left here to love me

Will you trace my name on your window?
Credits roll and it’s the end
When my fingers stop on the keys
Gone with the wind, will you remember me?

Rap:

Empty street, I’m still running
Won’t let fate catch up with me
Lonely tune, my life story
Too late to ask to be free

Look at the sky, crying for me
Wonder if you’ll think of me
Silent keys, after my glory

--------

La… Are you happy now it’s over?
Path of what could’ve been, I will walk down it alone

La…Memories tucked away for a rainy day
Path of what could’ve been, I will walk down it alone

LOLs! I think littlefishie's song can replace the mini-movie we are currently using for newbies. Complete and compact.

I love Vicluva's lyrics. It's quite touching to me.

Is someone playing the piano for shanni26? I heard people speaking in the beginning. Or it's a duet?

Ahh, I love littlefishie's 'Flooded' lyrics soo much! Everything went very smooth and nice, like what milky said, that song can actually replace the newbie's mini movie :D *applause for littlefishie*

For yeukang's Silent Man, very nice voice and it's very clear . Lyrics are kinda sad *wipe tears*

All of you did a good job, well done.

WOW! the entries are amazing.

I've actually tried writing an entry for this but failed. ._.

I have to commend littlefishie's fabulous very Si Mian Chu Ge entry. WHEEE! Very cleverly written, I must say. (though I heard b*tch instead of leech the first time and i was like...*___*)

and yue!! have you been in love my little girl? Those lyrics are very impressive. I love the images you were trying to conjure. The lyrics fit the melody very much.

lol, i thought Jess's entry was DIAO. i totally love her witty lyrics and YES, there's attitude in her rap.

And if making a fool of yourself is just normal
Then I pity you (noob, noob, noob, noob)
And if you come looking for some downloads
I’ll point you off to a different place (leech, leech, leech, leech)

^ i LOVE this. the 'noob noob noob/ leech leech leech' part was hilarious. *claps for Jess*

Yue:

I just simply loved the last time... it just flows too well... the rest of the lyrics is really nice and a tingle of sadness but the "la la la" part just blew me away...

kang:

the lyrics is OUCH... That's all i can say really... Singing wise.. i guess there nothing for me to say... it conveys the song just too well... all the emotions are just there... OUCH...

Jess:

I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud at 2 am in the morning! haha.. this is definitely going into my MP3.. i am going to listen to it everywhere i go!
An excellent job, i would say and ... That's really a lot of lyrics! excellent! (sorry for my lack of vocabulary!) and i agree with cookielmy, we can add this to the Mini-movie for noobs...

My Yuey: Your voice is so beautiful when it reaches the high notes! :hugz: And those lyrics did justice to the song, I probably love your rendition more. NOT JUST SAYING THAT! And your Lalala's are better than Jay's. <3 :hugz:

Yeukang: Though your lyrics were more direct, they had a story to follow, and I loved that! It was painful yet meaningful .__. And extra cookie points for such a flawless recording!

Jess jie: Extra extra points for being so incredibly morbid... but I love it. Amazes me how you can do the masculine rapping... and then your pretty singing voice! ^^

Omg, I just spent hours trying to figure out how to get into the download site (turns out I had to delete the "www" to get it work) and LOL, I was very impressed!

Jess! You sure got some hysterical laughter out of me with those fantastic lyrics!! So darn original, I bow to you!! And that rapping was great, not an easy song to tackle, and you did a great job! Kudos!

Aww, Dana honey :hugz: You make me blush, love you hun ^^
Pet jie: Haha, I actually didn't like the la la bits, but I'm glad you did! Thanks for your kind comments <3
Kisses for Gracie!
Meli: Lol, heart's still in one piece for now. Haven't seen you in a while (*hangs head at absence*), missed you!
milkified: I'm glad the lyrics didn't seem silly! :-)
Thanks to Ade jie and Karen too!

-----

Kudos to all the people who entered, regardless of whether it became an official comp, it was still great fun!

I loved Shanni26's voice. It sounded really unique and innocent, almost sweet. Plus she sings with subtle emotion, very peaceful to listen to.

i really looked forward to these and even though they aren't many, they were all enjoyable.
floriansu: i like how your lyrics matches the song so well. I can imagine your lyrics being the real ones.
fishie: your genious-ness blows me away! who would've thought of such spunky lyrics but you...i love it! you rapped it pretty good as well. :-)
yeukang: gah, the way you sang just tore my heart out. perfecto. the line "you also brought a guy who ate up my cake" made me laugh. :D
yue: gosh, our lyrical genius. i love the way you paint such clear pictures and use such clever metaphors in your lyrics. you sang the song so beautifully and with a slightly sad touch that isn't in the original.
