Anyway, read from the newspaper that Wei Lian's Album will be out around 11th Jan...There will be 4 new songs and the rest would be songs he sang during Project Superstar.

Only 4 new songs for Wei Lian's album?! That sounds really bad. :? Are they not interested to promote Wei Lian abroad?

I remember reading from an article that Junyang's album will include Liu Shui Nian Hua and If You Come back. His buddy, JJ Lin helped to composed 2 songs in his album too.

eunicezy I don't think this album will be brought to Taiwan. It will only be sold locally just like Sylvester's album.

And yeap, I'm pretty suprised that there are only 4 new songs. Which means that more than half of the album are songs that he has sang have already been publicised.

Actually, all along i felt that Play music isn't really a good company. If wei lian was in a better company, perhaps his album would be more interesting.

The only thing that Play music is better at is their advertisements. They are willing to fork out more money for their adverts. Seldom you see other record companies like Universal doing much advertisements.

thesuperone, ocean IS from taiwan and from PLAY MUSIC. but a singaporean manager was attracted in his voice so he signed a contract with play music. which is more of a singapore record company.

therefore, ocean is more popular in s'pore but not taiwan.

it isn't quite bad, haha after hearing it, it made me sort of excited.
what i mean is, it's quite a good song! :]

his voice has really improved a whole lot.
his nasal voice is almost gone! the title is wo zhen de xiang yao, or wo zhi xiang yao. sorry i can't really remember. tune into 933, maybe they will play it more often!

I heard the song too and I really liked it.

But I think there's still alot of editing done to his voice. I don't really actually recognise his voice in the song. It's just like Wei Jian's Tian Kong. But overall, the song was pretty touching. I guess it would be another hit.

Well, I think Jun Yang's hosting in Campus Superstar is a little difference from the ones in Superfunkies, he just say the contestant's name, school, the songs they are going to perform and others, its a little boring when it host Campus Superstar to Superfunkies, so its just not like him...

Nicholas looks like Energy's Ah Di to me, only he's of a smaller built. I don't really think they look compatible. Xin Huey has very few rumours about her love life. This is indeed quite shocking.

I've just ran through the songs. Most of them are ballads and I think there are only 4 new songs (Correct me if it's wrong). I would say this album is rather soothing. It's good for listening to them at night.

Junyang's new song (Theme song of I Not Stupid II) is also played on 93.3fm. It's very Jay-liked. What do you guys think?

I think among all, Jason's acting is the most natural. Haiya, he should have joined Star Idol in the first place. I guess Xin Huey's acting will be quite good too. She can really act well as a bad person!

I agree with jason's acting. It's very natural.. Perhaps acting is more of his forte. Wei Lian's acting isn't too bad too, considering that he can't see. I give him credit for that! Jun Yang did portray the snobbish look. Felt abit irritated with his character. So yeah, he passed too. Kelly.. hmm. can tell that her character's shy and demure that kind. So she's not too bad as well.

I think they changed the age limit as MDC has started Campus Superstar this year. Their age limit is till JC level so therefore they had to change the age limit for Project Superstar to 18.

Anyway, there's were two auditions. One for guy and one for girl. All the auditions will be at Toa Payoh. Just went there last Sunday. There were tons of girls there, waiting in line as early as 8am I think. All hoping to make it all the way. Alot of the females were well-dressed and well-prepared. And of cuz there were some girls who were celebrities-look-alike. haha!!!

Can't wait for the 2nd round, where the 200 male & female will sing live at Toa Payoh.

I supported Wei Jian during PSS 1 last year because he was my course-mate in Ngee Ann Polytechnic :D

But didn't hear him for quite sometime already and realised that he performed at the Toa Payoh HDB hub last Saturday during the PSS 2 Female auditions. Someone took a video of what he sang and my friend gave me the youtube link. He sang Yong Qi and from the video, he still looks pretty good, but still so skinny. :tongue:

Actually, I feel that the PSS contestants such as Weilian, Junyang, Kelly, Xinhuey and Derrick, they get a whole lot of publicity! And, I guess that's why they are still rather popular now. If I see Derrick/Junyang on the streets, I will definitely go up to him and probably take a picture with him.

Hmm, I think some malay R&B and ballads are pretty good. They sound very much alike to Mandopop ones too. :happy:

We love K-pop and J-pop too maybe because they look more chinese to us? Also, I find that most popular Mandopop songs are under the ballads or mid-tempo genre. We can find more music genres from artistes in Korea and Japan. Also their packaging is very attractive. :rolleyes:

as usual, the auditions are just hilarious. i think one of the classics was that "wo yao kuai le" girl. i was like, after listening to her, i feel so "tong ku" (agonized) instead of "KUAI LE". my god. and those judges definitely have one hell of a tolerance level! they can actually keep themselves from laughing at those ridiculous people. :roll:

Oh yeah! watched the first episode yesterday...... CAN'T BELIEVE THAT LADY IS BACK!!!! *Faint* She must be the female version of Steven Lim... Gosh! One Steven Lim is ENOUGH, don't tell me we're gonna have a 2nd one...

At least there're one Outstanding male singer... That guy who was hinted by the Host to Lose weight hahaah!!! His rendition of Ah Du's "Tian Hei" was WOW!!!!!!!!
But normally in this competition, it's not that good to show your singing talent that early in the competition...

People will tend to expect more & more & more from you... And when you're unable to deliver something better (though you performed outstanding last week), they just say "Well.... It was just great! But nothing special...."
I feel sad for that two good friends, cuz they came in the competition in 3, now only left two of them... BUT! at least two of them got in hahaa!!!

My friend went for the first Quarter finals just last MOnday and Tuesday. She gave 4 thumbs up for the contestants... She said that the contestants this time round are quite strong... and they really really sing very well.... She said that it';ll be a very tough competition this time round hahaah!!!

Actually Kewei got in but she dropped out because she was unable to commit for the entire period. I was looking forward to listening to her since she's marked as a hot favourite by almost all the contestants. And she's got a lot of experience doing chorals for many stars' concerts like JJ Lin and David Tao.

I think the males are better in PSS2, but at first when I saw their pictures, I thought they weren't as good looking as some in PSS1.

I have one secondary school mate in the female top 12. She's Magdalene Yeong. I don't know her personally, but I remember she was an Ah Lian back in secondary school. I think I ever caught her for problems with her uniform as I was a prefect then. I didn't know she has such a low and unique voice.

An official statement released by Channel U today states that after the Top 40 contestants were chosen, all were briefed on the recordings, activities and requirements of the competition that they must strictly comply to.

The statement reveals that Kewei failed to inform MediaCorp of her work commitment with an external party before she signed the contract with the company. It was on last Thursday Oct 19 that Kewei revealed of her commitment to perform as a back-up vocalist in a concert in December this year, smacked right in the middle of the competition programme which debuts in November 8th.

Hey I agree too. I think last year's males are better looking haha.. like leon, derrick, junyang etc etc. This yr's males, hmm I'm sorry, but to me, quite a few have the "qian4 bian3" look haha.. but after watching tonite's episode, I was quite surprised that almost all of them can sing well! Very steady n stable. Better than the girls, again! I think the guys are stronger than the girls again, and I think a guy will win this type of competition again haha..

The girls, I thought quite a lot of pretty ones, but their voices not very steady. I think Averil, the girl with very very long & beuatiful hair, left a deep impression on me. I thought her beauty's special, tian2 er2 bu4 ni4, n she has some kinf of "aura", "qi4 zhi4". And a few girls with power vocals too - like Diya, another girl (Veron I think) & the lucky contestant who got a 2nd chance. I root for them!

As for the guys, think I like Lesheng's voice a lot. He's so talented, can write can sing! irritating haha.. The rest I still not quite sure.

Yay the superstar hype is back again. I think it's really more successful than singapore idol haha..

LOL out of all the girls' solo performances, I only recognize two songs; Fly Away & Zhu Wo Sheng Ri Kuai Le, & both songs are really difficult. Haven't really heard the girls sing, but I do hope it's good :happy:

Just finished watching the girls' performance...

Veronica's voice was SO POWERFUL! Still, no matter what, my vote has gone to Mag ha! She has such charms and her voice... *fiant* it's so so so unique ha!!!

This time round we got a new phrase: "You gotta raise that cheek bone, if you're singing low..." hahah!!!

i think the girls are ALRIGHT. my fave of the girls is still veron. :D and i realized that carrie is not bad also.

but. looking forward to the guy's round more. :rolleyes: for some strange reason, so far, in all the singing competitions, all the guys are better than the girls.

I feel the girls are alright, not very impressive. Only Veron's voice caught my attention. :wink2:

But well it's only the first week of competition, let's see how they could improve. An example will be like Xin Huey who improved alot after her first performance.

Yeah Veron's voice's good! Power man! Carrie not bad too! And the duet, I think I like Chu Dian the most. The harmonisation was well done.. Yeah the guys are always better than girls! And it's always the guys who win..
