Have you guys watch this???

I just bought the VCD and I think this drama is gonna be great. First of all, I like all the artists who act in it (Vivian, ZaiZai, Ken) . And second, it's Angie Tsai's production (The producer who made Meteor Garden, MG II, Shang Ban Nu Lang), and third.... the title itself is so interesting. Long Juan Feng, reminds me of Jay's song. :wink2:

Anyway... here's the preview of the drama.

Jia Le (Vivian) was looking for a guy who would want to risk his life to rescue her. SHe believe the guy would be her destiny. And in this drama, they have the girl version of F4 (4 rich girls, which is Jia Le's group of friends). And one of them has a brother named Bao Long (Ken) who used to be a fat guy. But Jia Le treat him nicely, so he secretly likes Jia Le eversince. :happy:

Well, Bao Long lost weight later on and he tried to show his affection to Jia Le. But since they both best friend, Jia Le didn't really notice. On the other hand, Jia Le finally found the guy who risks his life to stop a truck which almost run over Jia Le's car. And this guy is Yin Feng (Zai Zai. :excited: ). And Jia Le made up her mind to go after Yin Feng.

Ying Feng is a very cold guy and he's actually a bad boy. He is a member of gangster/mafia, and he actually hates rich girl. So Jia Le finally left her status as rich girl and work her ass out to win his heart. While on the other hand Bao Long (Ken) ended up to be the one who had to keep helping Jia Le to get Yin Feng to like her. And of course Bao Long could only bite his lips because of jealousy. (Poor Guy) :?

Well, I haven't watch the whole thing. (In Indonesia, they release the VCD seperately, like MG II). So still don't know how it ended up. Just watch the first 5 episodes, I can tell the storyline is very nice. You know the tringle love story type of story. (I think this is the best one after Meteor Garden). Vivian is such a good actress, she played this innocent character perfectly (better than Jolin in Working Girl), and I give Ken and Zai Zai's acting two thumbs up. And arghhhzz.... I've been waiting to see Zai Zai in a TV drama for such a long time. :excited: :excited:

So, you guys who likes top watch TV drama, I recommend watching this one. :D

Awhah :excited: I saw this ad in yesasia and I wanted to see it.. I think out of F4, Ken and Vic are my favorite and I want to see Vivian act. The plot sounds pretty interesting too.. Tell us more once you see more!

cici, I think the soundtrack is Vivian's song and Zai Zai's song from each of their albums.

The beginning of the soundtrack is Vivian's song. The song is real nice. While the ending, they use Zai Zai's song from his newest album. (Zai Zai will released his new album anytime soon).

And out of all F4, I personally like Zai Zai and Ken the most too. :D

oh i want to see this drama too! i've seen little previews and stuff from t.v a lot of times, it seems like a funny one...Though i have to say i hate F4's music, but admittedly, i still really like Vic from MG..^^;; I wish i could get the vcd set too, but it's probably going to cost me a fortune, and i don't think i've seen it anywhere yet...or maybe i just haven't checked, don't know...

I wanted to watch this for so long. Finally the VCD is out! Vivian is a pretty good actress, she's had a lot of experience. She's not one of those nOoB actresses or an actress with no talent (Da S). She has done numerous commericals in Taiwan and Japan, not to mention hosts numerous shows in both countries. I saw her Japanese drama "Honke No Yome" and it was soooo funny. Anyways, I'd watch it just for her.

Yeah, you guys might have mistaken Ken for Zai2. Zai2 doesn't have pierced nose, but Ken does.

Anyway, Zai2 character is not literally a bad guy, but he's an ex-mafia member who repented and now working as a manager in a TV-shopping company. And to get Zai2 attention, Vivian works there as one of the operators. He's a very cool guy, kinda rude to Vivian in the beginning, but he's actually a very kind-hearted guy. He's the kind of guy who's touched when he sees a beggar.... you know.... that kinda of guy. Cool but kind-hearted. Like Jay. Hahahahah. :laughing:

I know that there will be a kissing scene between Vivian and ZaiZai under the rain. Whoaaahhhh,,.... :love: And if I'm not mistaken, both Ken and Zai2 have a kissing scene with Vivian. Arghz... lucky Vivian. :happy: Can't imagine Zai2 kissing, though. He had been so stiff when he kissing Da S in MG/MG 2. I hope his kissing improved. :bleh:

Chun Li, good for you if you watch it for Vivian. But I think the drama itself is very good. So you got both a good actress and a good drama.

Well, must be those ol' ZaiZai and Ken's fanatics who doesn't like Vivian kissing them.

I remember Zai Zai's Make a Wish MV where Zai Zai had this "hugging" scene with a girl, and all the fan girls had cried out loud on the internet claiming that they would never want to see any romantic scenes whatsoever in Zai Zai's MVs. I was like, WHAT? It's only a hug. But well, some fan girls were too exagerating and I can expect there would be so many Vivian haters bcoz of this drama. (The same like so many people ended up hating Michelle Saram bcoz of MG2).

My cuz hated Vivian already. She said she's too fake to act cute, and whatever. I don't care abt what she said. :dry:

I think Vivian IS cute. It's not like she is ACTING cute, her personality is just *really* cute. (-_-)

I watch her Japanese show all the time and she is just cute! Even the way she speaks Japanese is cute, and the questions she asks her guests is cute! I never liked her until I watched her shows. She's really funny and asks questions that are really direct at her guests. I guess that's why she's earned some respect from Japan (hard if you're a foreigner to gain respect in Japan. BoA is still working her way up there and it'll take several years).

Anyways, Vivian is pretty smart, and really funny. When people invite her on shows, they always say they don't know what to expect from her. I respect her only because she was able to show she has other talents than just showing her body (in the beginning). And not many actresses,who did "porn" in the past, gain respect afterwards so that is a big thing Vivian accomplished.

Her singing, of course, still sucks. But thats why all those Japanese shows ask her to host, not sing. Oh well.

Vivian is a good actress. She does her part pretty well. I've noticed that Zai Zai and Ken's acting have improved SOOO much, especially Zai Zai's. I wonder if Vivian gave them pointers? Their acting was so horrible in Meteor Garden I wanted to puke. Of course, it was their first series. But I never expected them to improve, especially after I saw Zai Zai in "Ping Qong Gui Gong Zi." (I thought he was a lost cause!)

This drama is written pretty well, moves along pretty fast. I am impressed.

It was quite funny because Zai Zai actually had to go through pronounciation lesson before filming this drama. That's why his pronounciation improves compared to his previous serials. I heard that Angie Tsai commented on Zai Zai as the one who's a fast learner and the smartest amongst F4 in terms of acting and study. So I guess, Angie is right. His acting really improves. Besided I think Zai Zai's normal expression really suit the character of cool Lu Yin Feng. :happy:

Who is Angie Tsai? His acting definately has gotten a lot stronger. I usually think Ken is hotter but now I'm in love with Zai Zai cuz his acting is pretty good in this drama.

wow can't wait to watch it here! Angie Tsai is the "mother" of F4..she creates F4 and produced Meteor Garden, Rich boy Taro and other idol series adapted from comics.

Zai Zai..sigh..he was yet charming and witty!! His cold humor never fails to amuse me!! I watched them in Tao Zi's show and Zai Zai is so humourous and Ken is charming too..and Vivian omg..i think every man wld want to have sex with her! The storyline is moving quite fast. I'm impressed too. Especially since Meteor Garden 2 are made to be sooooo loooong and makes it such a money-grabber serials. XP

I think the story is becoming more interesting because now Ken decided to go after Vivian instead of just standing there and watch Vivian and Zai Zai together.

The 9th episode was quite touching. What Vivian said almost remind me of what Dao Ming Si said to San Tsai. Those.... self-sacrificing but romantic words. It's kinda weird though since it was said by a girl to a guy. XP

Can't wait to watch the next episodes!!! I hope I don't spoil the story by giving some previews. XP

6 VCDs for $27.99. The total is 20 VCDs, so you'll spend at least $90 for the whole series. That is EXPENSIVE!!!!

I'm renting it TAPE BY TAPE right now, and they're totally ripping me off! First of all, the tapes are COPIED from the TV, okay, and it's like 3rd generation so it's blurry, skips, and sometimes HAS NO AUDIO! omg, the episode where Vivian and Ying Feng went on their first date HAD NO AUDIO! I was so pissed, I almost punched a hole in the wall. Had the video store clerk not been good looking, I would have yelled his head off!

And since it jumps all the time, my head hurts after I watch the episodes! I'm just going to rent it at the video store when the VCDs come in and burn it that way. $1 a VCD = $20 for the entire thing, better than $90!!

I think I'm on episode 16. I think that Jing Jing girl is pretty... and does anyone else think that the worst actor in the entire drama is Ken?

I think I am completely in love with Zai Zai after this drama. I LOVE ZAI ZAI, ZAI ZAI IS DIAO!

Geeez.... episode 17-21.... made me sink in tears. I don't know whether it was really sad, or was it just me who is too oversensitive when watching it.

But I think the last 5 episode is the best ones. Made me can't stop watching. I watched this episodes until 3:30 am, and woke up with panda eyes. XP

However, I love the ending. And my wild guesses are right! I think the ending is pretty predictable in some ways.

Conclusion. I LOVE THIS DRAMA!!!! ^ ^
Nice storyline, especially the climax at the last 5 episodes. And I love Zai Zai even more after this drama!!! ^ ^

One thing I hate: They don't have the "Behind the Scenes" Bonus that they usually have in MG 1 or MG 2. I actually was dying to see that. >_<

10 things I noticed about Love Storm (from a Zai Zai fan POV!!!)


1. Firstly, I think there’s way too much focus on the side plots, and not enough development of the main love story. Seriously, I was erm *rather disinterested* in the parts about the oldies…..it adds to the overall story, but surely there was no need to devote several whole episodes to it? I guess there’s no harm done if its not at the expense of the JiaLe, Yingfeng screen-time….but the fact is, I think that storyline was highly underdeveloped. Seriously, there was no real explanation as to why the couple loved each other so much. Jiale was taken by the fact that he saved her in the “xiao yi zhang (small uncle)” fashion (plus all the other random times where he “saved” her) but as we found out later, it wasn’t even intentional. I guess Yingfeng was taken by her persistence and courage, but nothing more concrete. I guess the overall effect is that I wasn’t exhilarated when they finally got together in the end….of course I was happy for them, but not ecstatic as I would have expected myself to be. (I mean, hey Zai Zai *finally* got the girl --that in itself should be a cause for celebration *grin* ) Though I would have been REALLY ANNOYED if they DIDN’T get together. My gripe isn’t the fact that they were together in the end…..its that the process wasn’t well developed enough.

2. Yingfeng’s *not so hot* wardrobe. I guess he’s supposed to be an aloof, cool character, and is part of the gangster family in this series, but still, surely they didn’t have to dress him in ratty T-shirts all the time?!?!? At least BaoLong’s wardrobe was decent….. Yingfeng’s was *sigh*

3. The saxophone song (Ai qing qian wan li or something like that) drove me nuts after awhile!!! MAN! They play it over and over and over AND over and over again and again AND again and again……not to mention that it is usually coupled with (what I deem *personal opinion* boring) “oldies” bits. One GOOD reason for me not to get the OST….(speaking of which, rumour has it that Zai Zai and Ken are releasing their solo albums soon, so I’m sure their songs in Love Storm would be featured in them….if anyone cares…)

4. The scenes in this series were somewhat disjointed….I’m not too sure if anyone else noticed, or cared, but I felt like this series was filmed in a very “chop chop” manner. Random short scenes are scattered around, with no transitions between them. Scenes don’t seem to be connected, but rather they seem to exist in discrete entities….5 seconds in Meiyun’s house, then suddenly 3 seconds in Baolong’s house etc…..very jumpy scenes.

5. The females in Taiwan seem to be getting skinnier and skinner….Just look at all the female characters in this show!!! Jingjing, JiaLe’s sidekicks MaLi and somebody whose name I can’t remember, Xiao Ah Yi aka Jing, Yingfeng’s pseudo gf at Le’s bdae party, Jiale’s maid etc etc….all really really thin (aka broomsticky)! I’m not saying they don’t look good, just really THIN!!

6. Episode 8 (V-day) rocked!!! That, to me, was the BEST part of the show…..Episode 11 (Yingfeng and JiaLe at the pier) comes close, but ep 8 still rules…..it picked up the show just as I was feeling somewhat not too positive about it (I didn’t really like Yingfeng’s character much till then, but then again, it wasn’t as if he had a lot of screen time in the first couple of episodes) Ep 8 made the storyline (which had been otherwise rather dead) come alive…..and rejuvenated my interest in the show.

7. Ken Chu’s nose-ring. Rather distracting….somehow the camera seems to always focus on it (when he’s in the scene)!?!?!? Maybe I’m imagining things, but still…..its always THERE….and certain scenes the (NOSE) stud seems to be huge…..can’t say I like it all that much….

8. The last episode where Yingfeng got shot….isn’t it strange that JiaLe gets to crowd over him in an empty room??? What happened to all the police officers and all??? More gripes about the last epis


ode – I know lots pple found it very exciting and all….and I admit certain bits were pretty good, but I feel that overall it was pretty rushed. And “chopped up” (pt 4). ESPECIALLY the ending…Yingfeng gets shot in the back, and the next thing you know, he’s wearing an arm bandage?!?!?! And suddenly JiaLe and Yingfeng appear on the yo-yo boat. And Baolong and MaYe are wagering over Jingjing. And after spending all that time on Meiyun and Tang Ken, they didn’t even resolve that properly.

9. Amazingly enough, Zhao JiaLe’s “act cute” scenes in the first few episodes were actually quite bearable!!! I figured I would hate her character, but strangely enough, she wasn’t irritating (to me). I actually thought her ditsy self was pretty funny and bearably adorable. The pink room was an overkill, but still okay…..

10. Well, after dissing the show, (sorry for rambling) I have to admit that despite all of that, my weekday morning routine during that period Kuang Ai was showing was refreshing the browser every 10 seconds till the link for the latest episode popped up =) I like the show IN SPITE of all the blah blah things I rambled on about…..and I’ll miss Yingfeng, JiaLe and gang!!! I would say that Zai Zai did a pretty good job in this serial, there were several scenes in which I think he showed great improvement in his acting – like the scene in which he was shot, and even the rain scene with JiaLe….heh. (compare this smooch scene with that of MG2 with Shancai) Though looks-wise, I feel that Hua Ze Lei of MG1 (not 2!) still wins….. Ken Chu, on the other hand looks a gazillion times better in this show than in MG....but then again its still Zai Zai for me anywayz.

I'm quite agree with you roche.... about the love story is a bit underdeveloped. Unlike MG1, how the story from episode 3-18 are mainly about San Tsai and A Si, but this has more unecessary stories about the Tang Ken and Mei Yun.

I find it really hard to grasp of how Yin Feng finally LOVE Jia Le that much. I just wonder, how come the cool Yin Feng could have a change of heart that sudden. True, the love story is too underdeveloped. As if, I couldn't really feel how deep their loves are.

One thing I don't like is how Jia Le's parents take it easily on their relationship. I mean, they're rich parents, and rich parents supposed to be very picky in choosing their daughter's boyfriend.

I think they're lacking of dramatic scene. For sure!

btw, They only show very little parts of the NG. Unlike in MG1 and MG2, which they particularly have 30-25 mins showing the NGs, they only use ZaiZai song in the end to show some of the NG shots. Which got me a little disappointed. >_<

i downloaded the whole series too but at the moment the final episod havent finish downloading yet. yupyup, i agree with roche, ~strawberri~ and sUm^MeR (whose nick reminds me of 'Mo Mo Cha' - Summer Holiday with Sammi and Richie) that the story is underdeveloped. :oops: i can't feel the so called true love between the 2 lead instead i feel that Bao Long showed more true love than Ying Feng. i also don't understand based on what did made Jia Le so crazy over Ying Feng, because he so happen to be save her when she's in trouble? What is so captivating about Ying Feng that without knowing him at all, she just fell head of heels - perhaps it was love at first sight but somehow i just can't feel it. whereas with MG1, it's different - you can feel the character's ups and downs. the best part of the whole show is during ep8 when Ying Feng ask Jia Le how well she knows him - like what is he afraid of, what he likes, etc and Jia Le answered him which i can't remember what. And then she rushed out onto the road and he pulled her back and then kissed her. that part i definitely feel it. But all in all, i kinda like the series and dun mind watching it at all. but thats just my 2 cents worth.

My main gripe as well was that the love story between Ying Feng and Jia Le needed a LOT more time. However, since they had to finish filming this entire series in a span of three months (Zai Zai had to start school, and Vivian had to be in Japan) I think they did a pretty good job.

I think my favorite thing about this Idol Drama is that... FINALLY... an Idol Drama where 95% of the cast CAN ACT!!!!!!

bittorrent works in such a way that whoever has the complete clip (called the "seed") will give out different parts of the complete clip to whoever who's downloading....and after awhile, everyone downloading will each have a diff part of the clip, and thus can download off each other instead...

Hi, I just watched this show and I do have to agree that it's one of the better ones out there. I haven't seen many of these Taiwan "idol" type of shows, but from the other ones I've seen they're put me to :sleeping: . Plus they're usually SO slow, anything just to drag it out to that nice round 20 number. It's funny how these shows try to have the characters say things that are so "profound", but it just leaves me :glug: . I wonder if the actors ever feel embarrassed at having to utter such BS. This show is a better in that aspect.

I thought Vivian was very good here, I could see why the guy would fall for her character. Zaizai seemed a little limited in expressions, would have like to see more.

I haven't seen either of those, but the very first one I saw, was called 雪地里的星星, had that girl that was in Jay's Tornado MV in it. That show was BS CENTRAL!! One of the lines, "Does a person without parents(orphan) deserve to be loved?" :glug: Are you kidding me?!?! No words to describe how in awe of the stupidity I was when watching it. But then since I paid money to rent it, felt it was an obligation to watch it to the end. That bad first experince about turned me off of these shows. I only checked this one out because of this thread.

Lei was a cool, suave, charming character :angel: but Tai Lang was so pathetic, weak, "Jian Qian Yan Kai", easily manipulated and blur!!! Its funny, I guess, in a slapstick sort of way......but i think it didn't really leave a good impression on me....I actually liked Zai Zai LESS after the show (though Love Storm revived that :love: ) Heh I don't even think I finished watching the series....

Though I think in real life (or rather from the interviews I've watched) Zai Zai is a very "gao xiao" person who's jovial and in general a "kai xin guo" -- all the hosts LOVE him!!!!

And yeah i think Ken Chu has come a long long way since meteor garden....he looks a gazillion times better as bao long than as xi men! But Zai is still more charming.... to me, at least :wink2:

I watched the Poor Prince for the sake of watching Zai Zai too. And I think the first episode totally blew me off. But I push myself to watch the second one (since I bought the whole thing already). And I think the storyline is really bad, but the series gave me a GOOD LAUGH. Geng Hong was hillarious! He acts much better in this series than in MG2. I think his face is made to act in comedy not in drama.

You guys have to watch the NG part. It's the best part of the series. It's so damn HILLARIOUS.

I guess what put me off the show, so much so that I couldn't bear to continue watching it, was the fact that they kept insinuating that Zai Zai was gay....or at least associating him with gay stuff:

like the gay guy having a major crush on him?
like him dressing up as a (female) maid?!?!? thats about where i refused to continue watching the show....i think

i have no problems with gays, but they just made the characters in the show seem so pathetic/sad....

Ying Feng wasn't too bad....try imagining yourself with Lei, Chun Li!!!
i think it was more that there was not enough time to develop his character.....

Yap. Chun Li, roche... Geng Hong played the gay guy. His character was not actually a gay though, but it's because Tai Lang is TOO lovable for anyone NOT to love him. So they made Geng Hong kinda like him. So... Geng Hong's character wasn't really a gay in the first place.

Actually, Geng Hong played an important part also, compared to Aya or Ken. For me, Geng Hong is like the second important person in this series. Without him, the show won't be as funny. ^ ^

As Yin Feng, I think I can stand him as my boyfriend. He's just quiet at first, but he actually isn't that silent toward the little boy or toward Ken's mom. Oh well, quiet guy makes me curious. ^ ^ BUt I definately can't stay Lei from MG. He's really TOO quiet.

But I thought Zai-zai real personality is so funny and can make people laugh. NOt make people sad like in Meteor Garden. So i like his truly personality. Yeah maybe Poor prince is not a movie. It just a comedy. But enjoy watching it cos it so funny. But maybe i'm not the biggest fans of Zai-zai. Dui Bu qi a ni men. His expression always make people laugh. And the NG part is better than the movie.
And I like the part geng Hong sing Jay song, F4 song, etc. Wait a minute it's about LOve Storm not Poor prince.

jeez.. i love zaizai!!! i wanna catch that show.. but unfortunately it's not aired here in the philippines!!! too bad for me.
