hmm...I don't know wether am I supposed to post it here..
If I posted this wrongly.Feel free to delete this thread. :bleh:
I just want to share with those who can't read chinese :bleh: or should I say most languages other than english

I have this great website that translates text and even WEBSITES!..
Just put in the address and select the options..
It translates simpl.chinese,trad.chinese,korean, japanese..etc. to english and vice versa..

So here's the website
Babel Fish Translation (http://babelfish.altavista.com/)

edit:
okay...I did a bit of testing..and I think it sometimes might be not so accurate but it does tell the meaning...for example:
I have taken this from Jay News Section translated by a member here

金馬獎典禮另一名主持人胡瓜逼問侯佩岑對周杰倫獲獎的感覺時,侯佩岑半推半就說:「反正高興就對了,恭喜所 有得獎人。」

The event’s co-host, Hu Gua forcedly asked Patty Hou, how does she feel about Jay wining the award, Patty tried to ignore and give a blunt answer (shy) I am happy after all. Congratulations to all those won. "

And if I use the translation webby thingy..It comes out like this

When the Golden Horse Award ceremony another director cucumber presses for an answer Hou P'eits'en the feeling which wins an award to Zhou Chiehlun, Hou P'eits'en yields with a show of reluctance said that, "Happy has been in any case right, congratulates all prize winners."

:glug: ..director cucumber?? is Hu Gua translated as cucumber??
but overall it does tell us about the text..
So erm..I hope it's okay.. :worry:

ummm... thanks for trying to help, but actually, Babel Fish is definitely a translation site i would NOT recommend. the accuracy is quite poor and oftentimes does not make any sense. so, even if you put text through, you are only getting a very vague idea of what's really going on. :dunce: anyway, feel free to respond in this thread before i close it. again, your help is appreciated.

yeah, we really appreciate your help. =)

but the thing is...that Babelfish site, often translates Zhou Jie Lun into WEEK OUTSTANDING ROENTGEN.

we've experienced this before that members post up (news) translations done by Babelfish and we can easily see whether its translated by themselves or by an online translate machine which calls Jay a week outstanding roentgen.

From past experience, anyone who uses Babelfish to translate Jay news and posts it in the Jay News section gets an instant ban from me. It's that horrible, 1). the translation is total crap and makes us look bad, 2). it shows the person put absolutely no effort into actually trying to translate or make the news at least coherent or READABLE (we've had people post up babelfish translations with Chinese characters still randomly in the article)

But yes, if you want to use it to translate simple words and phrases for your own benefit, then by all means, it's a decent tool.
