So.. I was having this discussion with Vicki umma and Dana halmoni last night (yeh, we may span 3 generations but we have deep chats every now and again :rolleyes: )

We were talking about tattoos, and you'd think Teddy would have at least one. Well how come none of us could remember ever seeing him with one? :glug: And I can't recall ever seeing him topless either. Or even sleeveless. Therefore, I wanted to ask you guys too. Have we ever seen a tattoo on Teddy? Have we got pictures of Teddy topless? XD

Then Daayna can compare the real thing to the perfect one shes got conjured up in her imagination.. *cough*

Also on the topic of pictures, how on earth did Jinhwan get those huuuge scars >< *huggles Jinnie*


And I've been listening to One Way over and over since getting it <3 *feels excited for Meli* I love the way they say their names in the Interlude! =D Not too fond of the swearing in 'How It Go' though ._. It doesn't surpass 4jib for me yet, but it's easily one of my favourite albums of the year. I thought 4jib's booklet was better too, but thats cos I still adore those pictures.

Well, I never thought he'd have something as huge as that, but then he took off his top and there...voila....TATTOOS. I'm sure Teddy has a munshin somewhere, we just have to discover where.

OMG I love Taebin more than ever! Was just listening to songs/mvs off their 5th album and omigosh they're so hot! My favorite one is 'How many times', omg Taebin is such a hot spunk with those glasses and that glass thing he was blowing!!

I was a bit shocked when a hand grabbed a certain crotch in the 'Do You Know Me' mv :glug: But wow, I love Teddy's rapping. It was such a violent mv, but I loved it. *licks*

Omg has anyone seen their performance when they did a remix of some of their old and new songs? It was hot! :drool: And Taebin can sing so well! His high bits were so effortless..*lifts off the ground with a note* But god, he's so skinny ><" And that girl in the How Many Times mv was even smaller and it was so funny because her head looked so small :roll:

GUYS... just have to share this... a soompi-er told me that 1TYM took so long before releasing the album because.... of depression. They were in the US at that time right? Baekkyung became so depressed that he eventually had to go back to Korea to get treatments and Teddy, got anxiety disorders.. and then Danny and JinHwan were almost at the verge of getting depressed themselves, but good thing their cases weren't as serious as Teddy's and Bacon's.

At any rate, thought I'd share a review I wrote of their album for English class. Hope you all don't mind. ^^;;

As arguably the most popular hip-hop group from YG Entertainment, 1TYM has been a presence sorely missed in the Korean music world since their disappearance after the release of their fourth album. After constant delays, the four man group is prepared once again to sweep through the Korean music scene with the distinctive style that has made them so popular in the past. This latest album, a product that has been two years in the making, is their best album yet.

One Way is a blend of what makes 1TYM such a well-loved group: the songs on the album are a balanced mix between hip-hop and pop. In this album, members Teddy and Baekkyoung create songs that show more polish and maturity than in previous albums. “니가 날 알어?”, the title track of the album, is the best example of this with its violin powered melody as each member raps their own experiences over the past two years. Most notable is the beginning, when listeners can hear the famous lines that Pulp Fiction actor Samuel L. Jackson cited from the Bible. “니가 날 알어?” is one of many songs that showcase 1TYM’s more “hardcore” hip-hop, which includes the Egyptian-tinged “어쩔겁니까”, the almost creepy “Get Them Hands Up”, and the party bopping “How It Go”.

More memorable than these harder songs are the pop-infused ones that blend each of the members’ individual strengths to create a smooth, soft sound unique to 1TYM. “Summer Night (featuring Big Mama)” is a happier, lighter song that will have fans nodding along happily. Big Mama adds soul into the mix with her powerful vocals, giving the song an oldies feel. “몇 번이나” is another song that blends Danny’s soft vocals with the slower, gentler rapping styles of Jinhwan, Teddy and Baekkyoung. When the group sings this Oriental-like song, the only accurate way to describe the feeling is coming home. It highlights better than any other song on the album the love the members feel coming back into the world they have been missing from.

Of course, a 1TYM album wouldn’t be complete without a solo or two from the members. This year, Danny and Baekkyoung take the honors, showcasing their different personalities and talents. As the resident pretty boy and sex appeal of the group, Danny doesn’t disappoint with his smooth R&B track “Take It Slow.” The song sounds like something Kang Ta would sing with its lilting verses and flowing chorus. Danny’s solo is sexy, no questions about it.

The real surprise, however, is Baekkyoung’s solo, “Supa funk.” Even with his outspoken personality, Baekkyoung has a tendency to fade in songs when compared to the other members. This solo reminds fans that Baekkyoung is part of the group for a reason – not only is he a first class producer, but he also has the power to recreate himself. “Supa funk,” as the title states, is a funky track that makes fans realize Baekkyoung can really sing.

For all the maturity and growth that can be heard on this fifth album, there is a quality to many of the songs that feels like a nod to past songs that 1TYM has made together. This quality reflects better than any other the position that 1TYM is in currently. Believing that it would be impossible to continue with a member missing, the group has announced that they will be taking a three year hiatus in conjunction with the absence of member Jinhwan as he serves his required military service term early next year. The album mirrors 1TYM’s own position perfectly – even as the songs remember their origins, they still continue to take a step forward.

This album is a must-have for any fan of Korean hip-hop or 1TYM. As the only album to be produced by the group for three years to come, One Way not only asserts the creative force and wide-spread appeal of the group, but also reminds listeners that for 1TYM, there is only one way: to the top.

1TYM News concerning Baek...19/11/05

Baek had been sent to the hospital urgently this early moring (Nov 19) due to the serious car crash.

He was drunk and trying to drive back home after a night out with some friends (non-1tym) as the fact that he thought the place isnt too far from his house so he decided to drive.

His car collided with a taxi then the car ran into the bus which caused him a serious injure. He got an emergency operation. He broke 2 neck bone and also affect with his lower part of body since it's all related.

Right now the doctor's most concern are his paralysis issue which is possible and surgical issue.

Now it's 100% for a surgery but i really have no idea how big of the surgery...

The doctor said he need more than 3 months just to recover which mean the coming SBS performance must be cancelled.... and may be some others too


Somehow, there still dun have an official press announcement from YG because now the most important thing is Baek's injure condition..... but they said everything will be discussed and announced real soon.

All the rest 1tym member now in shock and refuse to give any interview....

Wellll... my friend Sherri has been digging through stuff. We have ousted the theory that Teddy doesn't have arms (it was plausible :rolleyes: ) because we see bare lower arms in the Nasty and One Love MVs.

But have any of you seen pre-debut Teddy? I'm told it was almost like sunburn. The irritation/acne/skin rah problem may have cleared on his face and neck, but maybes theres still some on his arms? I dunno.. i haven't seen piccies, and maybe my friend is guessing from one really really awful photo :x And he would have been a teenager back then and acne problems are pretty much the norm. But interesting thought...

And then theres the boring theory that hes just shy ._.

That was the best gameshow they ever appeared on. Baekkyung was soo funny all the way through :laughing: And right at the beginning, I adored the looks on their faces when they were shown their challenges. We havent been promised a 6jib, but i just know it's gonna happen. 1TYM for life, neh? I just know they'll drop everything to reform ._.

It's so fast. I feel like I've just started spazzing over them and it's a goodbye concert already. It breaks my heart to have to see them take a break from 1tym as a whole group just when I feel like they've come back after so many years. Granted I was here when any of their past jibs started... or even when Taebin released his first jib, but I've grown so fond of them. Nonetheless, I'm just going to be happy for what they're giving us and anticipate a 6th jib a couple years from now.

I'm interested to see what Teddy and Baekkyoung release as their solo projects. I think Baekkyoung has real potential to change it up and show us a part of him that we might not have considered enough. I mean, Supafunk proves he can carry a tune.

Yups. Becci is right ;) But if I'm not wrong, Teddy was born in Korean but migrated to LA at a very young age and was brought up there since then. Taebin and Teddy were in the same college, that's how they became friends I think ^^

And nope, they haven't split up. YG admitted he considered breaking them up after 5jib as Jinhwan will be away for so long. But now they're doing solo projects until he returns, at least another 2-3 years left, and then they'll pick things back up.

Danny and Teddy have always spent periods abroad in between albums~ I think Danny (and Teddy now) has to because of Visa limitations. They're not really taking a break by going to LA though. They have recording studios over there and I like to believe Teddy is always writing music. XD

and I'm sure Dana's right. Teddy moved to the US as a child, Danny was born there.

err.. first year of high school would either be 9th or 10th grade. a couple years back, school districts underwent some changes and 9th grade was moved up to high school but you'd probably be 14 years old more or less.

A while back it was clarified that they left to New York first, then went to LA to work in their studio.
Teddy is currently producing and no one knows what Taebin is up to. But at the end of the year or early '07 is when Taebin's solo album will come out.
