hi guys!this is my 1st time to post thread :P
hmm..i would like to share sum memories about jay with u guys...

when i was in form 1(1999),inthe end of year, i saw a guy wearing cap n singing XING QING in the taiwan countdown party in TV(astro:entertainment news). the song was so nice, he keep singing the same song n showing the same style in all the countdown party in taiwan. that was his 1st image for me. the next day i decided to buy the original 1st album of jay. i went through all the store n ask for jay chou album..u noe wat happen??SOLD OUT!!!AT ALL!!!
i was so disappointed..so i was decided to buy pirated(dun blame..that time was young,not that rich).but the seller ask me:"who is jay chou?" (omg!!)..no choice..i borrow money from my sis..i went to another music store,finally i get the last jay chou album in that store!lucky!!
from that on, i bought jay chou album every year n watching concert once(8th feb 2002).that was a sweet memories for me..cos whoever concert i watch..i didnt enjoy in it,i will kept sitting on chair n juz watching. but when i watching jay chou concert..i was so high n kept shouting wif all my gang, n all the ppl sang together, our voice even more louder than speaker n jay's voice!!so enjoy!!

i know Jay Chou from somewhere.. lol kidding..

i knew that Jay is this really famous artist from taiwan, but i don't really listen to chinese songs, and it just slipped my mind.
and i also don't really watch anime, and i knew that Initial D is a very famous anime, and my friends who are really anime otaku recommended me Initial D the movie, so it happened i went to watch the movie and i really like it, despite of the whole racing car thingy which really isn't my thing.
and i saw Jay Chou the first time in flesh lol lol well at least on screen, and that was it..

and then later, a friend of mine who really obsessed, well ok obsessed it's not really the right word here, recommended me Jay's songs.
and one day, i saw Jay Chou's mv on tv (the Ye Qu song if i'm not mistaken) and i went, "ooo ni ke lagu Jay Chou tu.. boleh tahan jugak dia nih.."
and i've been downloding his songs just to have a listen.

and i went and bought his CD a few weeks ago and i'm kinda hooked.
it's jay Chou's songs in my mp3 player now every where i go

Well, I used to hate Jay haha! But that was because I didn't listen to his songs and notice his talents!
But, until I watched Initial-D somewhere around June this year, he caught my eyes, then slowly.. my heart! HAHA! Abit late and slow, I know. Then I started listening and downloading his songs and I discovered that his music that he composes himself is way way different from any other typical chinese songs! At least they're unique, right?
Then I met him this year in 1utama recently hehe! Discovered even more about his kindness and goodness day by day! He just gets attention from eveyrwhere! Well, to be honest, I'm still a loser and a sad soul for having only ONE of Jay's album, November's Chopin! But more to come! I wanna collect all of his albums :happy:

The first Jays song that I heard was San Nian Er Ban. I saw the music video in the television and I thought, "WOw! There is even a song about ping pong?". It was when I am in Form 2.

Last year, I was in Form 5, I heard 2 of his songs in tv. They were Qi Li Xiang and Zhi Zhan Zhi Shang. Yes! I have been hearing chinese songs and my favourites are Nicholas Teo and Lin Jun Jie. however, i was not a fan of him yet.In fact, when I saw Zhi Zhan Zhi Shang, i thought him as one of the gangster in music world due to his style and the song about soldiers. Well, I don't understand chinese and what can you expect from me?

But The first time I heard the beautiful 2nd song his fifth album was when the second day of my Grandmother's death. he nest thing I know, i am finding the tune on my electone.

Until today, what I am is, a student of his music. i like to research his tune and how his team made his songs very well with style. How the background singers contribute in his songs. How they accompany him? How the music instruments played.

I am not a fanatic of him because I can be so critical towards him. He won an award? He didn't? Well, he deserves what he deserves. I dont care. However, i will support him.

But after my friends always promoting his songs to me..therefore i tried to make a concentrate for listening his song and neglecting what the way he uised to sing.However i realized he really really superb talented, coz he composed every song are very particular and interesting without making people bored... :-) :D

it all started when i was little. i didn't know much about music back then. i was in elementary school or so. my brother had a few of his songs and whenever he played it, i'd find myself humming along or bobbing my head in tune with the music.

im not pretty sure when it is...it's around the first ever MTV ASIA AWARDS in Singapore. (anyone remember when is it? maybe around 2000)..but at that time i didnt even know his name and his songs. all i know is, he won the awards for the fav.taiwan artist. i saw his performance on that day...and i was like...wow...this man is awesome..love the way his dance with chinese weapon (i aslo didnt know that weapon is :-P).....

since that i know his name and always watch his video clip at NTV7, aec....but it was like on and off..i know him but not so into him..

when do i start to like him?it all started when i met my boyfriend and on the first date...my bf showed me Jay's video Qi Li Xiang at his hp...and that nite was the night i started with my relationship wit my bf and started to give more attention to Jay's Music..... (it was on Jan 2005)

I started to know who Jay during the time when i made myself listen to Chinese songs :P (wasnt very keen at listening to Chinese songs by that time). And during my trip back to Malaysia, my cousin played Qi Li Xiang and i got obsessed with it ...so then i asked him who sang it, and he replied "zhou jie lun ah~" at that very moment, the Jay-frenzy struck me ...

to be honest, i'm from indonesia but currently i'm study in malaysia...
before i came to msia, i oredy knew jay from some magazine in indonesia...but at that time i thought "who is this guy??? his style is so......arrogant" i din like his style and i used to hate him (yeeahh rite...)
i never listen to chinese songs before and i never like chinese's song even though i'm a chinese...at that time, i was obsessed wif western music...besides that,,chinese song is not so popular in indonesia, so it's quite hard to find new chinese album:worry: ....
until three years ago, when i continue my study in msia, i started to listens to chinese song...it's all because of my house mate...she keep on playing "kai pu liao kou" at first, i thought that it just an ordinary songs,,but when she played 'an jing'..i just felt like'OMG...this song is so nice...' i'm so touched and then fell in love with 'an jing' ...after that, i'm so curious wif jay and decided to do some googling on him and find more about him....and i started to fall in love wif his songs, his attitude, his style, his face, his heart and i love all about him.

The first time was when I first started paying attention to what Astro is showing. I'm not much of a TV person.

On that day, Astro Talent Quest was showing.. the one where Jay Chao appeared together with this other skinny dude who sang some about "Ku Niang". He sang Xing Qing and played the piano. At an istant, I was mesmerized!! How could a song in Chinese sounded so nice. I thought that everything in Chinese was generic and boring. I was so wrong because I'm a total banana and had to ask my parents to translate what he was singing. I was in love, there and then!!

When Jay Chou came to Malaysia, I took the opportunity to go for the concert and entered this Maxis competition (by sms). I got the opportunity to meet JAY CHOU for the first time. It was more like a meet the fans/ autograph signing session but he totally mesmerize me AGAIN! I handed him a sketch on a piece of A3 that I drew just a few days ago and handed it to him. He looked at me, said thank you and smiled!! That was the happiest day of my life. :angel:

I started to know Jay during my matriculation studies, some way back in 2001. During that time, I only listening to English music. So, my winamp was full with English songs. FYI, during that time also, I hate Chinese music and I never like to listen to any of Chinese songs. For me Chinese music was crappy and stupid (sorry).......... But, one day when I was having my holiday at home, I realized that my winamp was being filled with some Chinese songs. I was so angry that time. My brother told me that his chinese friend was the one who put the songs and his friend asked me to listen to them first before delete them. So, I just take a listen. You know what? When the first song (Long Juen Feng) was played, I was stunned and amazed.I just thought that it was the first beautiful chinese song that I had ever heard. Then, I continued listened to other songs such like Ke Ai Nu Ren, Hei Se You Mo and etc. Start from that I had become one of the ardent fans of Jay Chou. And thanks to Jay also, I had start to listen to other chinese songs too. He changed my view to Chinese music. Although I'm a Malay and don't have any idea in speaking or understand Chinese, but for me, music is universal and there is no language barrier as long as the music is good. Since then, I had bought every single of Jay albums, MTVs, VCDs, DVDs, Concert albums and etc. In conclusion, I cannot live without Jay Chou music!

haha how come i didn't come across this thread earlier :oops: ~here's the (almost) complete recollection of my 'history' with jay..:tongue:

my first jay's song is San Nian Er Ban..it was during my college term break (somewhere around 2004 i guess but i don't quite remember) I had this habit of watching MVs on TV while reading through people's chatting (though i thought its stupid to waste money to chat on TV) ~ and i particularly like to watch when mandarin songs MV were being shown. Then there was a discussion of whether 'the ping pong song is going to be on air today', so i just wondered what song they are talking about..then i saw the MV and i recognize him as 'Jay Chou' immediately but not yet form any opinion about him, so he has few nice songs and that's it ~ at same time his other MVs like Zhi Zhan Zhi Shang and Qi Li Xiang are frequent on TV as well and i love those MVs.

Then i think it was towards the end of 2005 (november's chopin just been released) i had a random chatting with a friend and she is surprised to know that i listen to chinese songs and have some CD collection (well since we're Malay and we don't really listen to chinese songs much :tongue:), anyway the songs i had were some compilation of 'evergreen' or drama theme songs etc etc, none of jay's..then she told me about jay's songs and it surprised me to learn that Jay is the one composing all his songs ~ so i'm impressed and thought there's something about this guy..

afterwards i started searching and i came across a blog of someone who is a jay's fan and while i only intend to request few MVs she is very nice to provide me with most of my jay's collection (i really must credit her for introducing me to jay's music :oops:) ~ then, it just a matter of time that i develop my craziness towards Jay after learning more and more about him...

oh well maybe i've been babbling too much here *phew* :sweat:~ to cut things short, jay is the best and i daresay everyone will fall for him if he or she know him..! :happy:

(2003) my friend was raving about jay jay jay .. and i was not a fan of chinese music back then .. so i was making fun of jay .. and that time he was promoting his incomparable concert and i was saying he has big boobs .. and i laughed at my friend when she printed a bunch of jay's lyrics .. i told her she was wasting paper and ink .. etc etc

when mid 2005 came and i moved in university hostel , my roomie was a chinese music listener thus i "convert" .. i started with guang liang's tong hua .. and keep on exploring .. lee hom ... wilber pan .. etc etc .. until i started digging around jay's music.. it was kai bu liao kou and dong feng po i heard first but what got me hooked was fa ru xue from his november chopin album which came out end of the year

i was craving for more jay music and one of my friend burn me his 6 albums! that's when the exploring and enjoying jay's music start and i started my own lyrics book .. so much for laughing at my friend last time

now i'm a bigger fan than she is ! she rubs it in my face though

I notice about JAY CHOU almost 5 years ago. How time flies, almost 5 years! :excited: But at that time I never listened to his songs yet, I'm just know about him through 'Galaxie' magazine. At that time most of the series of the magazine had written about his rumour with Jolin.

After that, I read about him again but this time the news is about his first movie which is 'Initial D'. Actually I'm into Hong Kong movies before so of course this time I really wanna watch this movie. Then, coincidently at MTV channel I heard 'Piao Yi' song and I think that I start fall in love with the way he sings. But what make me more crazy on him is whenever I heard 'YeQu' song...he's briliant and I never ever feel embrassing to admit that he's my favorite singer, actor, director...moreover I feel proud and I love everything about him.....

And I also would like other people know...Jay Chou make me impress with Chinese music even though I can't undertsand it...:-)
